It seems that El Salvador makes headlines in the US only when it pertains to violence or immigration and lately, a combination of both? Last time the country made major news was a May 2021, and the news? The discovery of a mass pit of disembodied human parts and an ex-cop serial killer in Chalchuapa, a quiet town in the Santa Ana department, not very far from Guatemala. Cristina tells Carmen about Jaqueline Cristina Palomo Lima Cruz, who's death led to the discovery of this mass grave.

Just a correction from the episode, Cristina said state of exception, but that was put in place in 2022, the plan territorial was a sort of predecessor that was still a very hard on crime stance used before the state of exception, but even before then there were a couple of similar laws. When Cristina said state of exception in this episode prior to 2021, it should have been the plan control territorial.

00:00:04.599 --> 00:00:07.480
Hello, Hello, This is Espooky Tells.

2
00:00:07.719 --> 00:00:10.240
I'm Christina and I'm Carmen, and this is the podcast

3
00:00:10.279 --> 00:00:13.640
for all things es spooky, sometimes haunted places, you know,

4
00:00:13.679 --> 00:00:18.399
paranormal stories, possession stories, true crime usually paired along with this.

5
00:00:18.519 --> 00:00:21.160
Sometimes we do a true crime case in one episode.

6
00:00:21.320 --> 00:00:24.519
And that's what's happening today because one I was very

7
00:00:24.600 --> 00:00:28.079
I was too busy arguing with people on fucking social.

8
00:00:27.800 --> 00:00:31.039
Media, and I know I shouldn't. Yeah, we've been going

9
00:00:31.079 --> 00:00:32.920
through it. We have Christina, then not.

10
00:00:33.039 --> 00:00:36.840
But yeah, Also the case that I'm talking about today,

11
00:00:37.039 --> 00:00:37.479
I don't know.

12
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:40.320
You guys know, you all know there's just something about

13
00:00:41.399 --> 00:00:43.920
that breaks our hearts again and again and again and

14
00:00:43.920 --> 00:00:46.479
then also I don't know.

15
00:00:47.119 --> 00:00:48.920
I mean, we'll just I'll just get into what we're

16
00:00:48.960 --> 00:00:52.960
talking about. And it's a hard time for Stala feast.

17
00:00:53.200 --> 00:00:54.359
Who care right now?

18
00:00:55.159 --> 00:00:55.439
Yes?

19
00:00:56.079 --> 00:00:58.119
Yes, by who care, I mean who care about the

20
00:00:58.159 --> 00:01:04.760
atrocities that Bukela has become since he became president? Not

21
00:01:05.040 --> 00:01:07.599
just now right because at the time of recording, I mean,

22
00:01:07.799 --> 00:01:09.560
we'll get into it. But at the time of recording,

23
00:01:09.879 --> 00:01:14.359
President Trump and Bukele have met and things are not good.

24
00:01:14.480 --> 00:01:17.200
They're not good, and then suddenly no, okay, let's just

25
00:01:17.200 --> 00:01:19.200
get into the case, okay. And it's a resk, that's

26
00:01:19.200 --> 00:01:19.560
the point.

27
00:01:19.680 --> 00:01:19.920
Yeah.

28
00:01:20.040 --> 00:01:23.599
So it seems that makes headlines in the US only

29
00:01:23.640 --> 00:01:27.680
when it pertains to violence or immigration lately, a combination

30
00:01:27.760 --> 00:01:31.000
of both. As President Bukele met with US President this Monday,

31
00:01:31.040 --> 00:01:33.840
at the time of recording, April fourteenth, news has come

32
00:01:33.879 --> 00:01:37.000
out of that. That's again horrible and it made me

33
00:01:37.040 --> 00:01:39.959
think of the last time there was major news, major

34
00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:45.359
breaking news coming out of one and the news it

35
00:01:45.480 --> 00:01:49.560
was a discovery of a mass pit of disembodied humans

36
00:01:49.599 --> 00:01:53.000
and an ex cops serial killer in Chauchuapa. Do you

37
00:01:53.000 --> 00:01:56.159
remember this, Yeah, of course. And for those that don't know,

38
00:01:56.239 --> 00:01:59.200
chi Chwapa is a quiet town in the Santa Anna department,

39
00:01:59.519 --> 00:02:03.120
very close Guatemala. It's very very close to the border

40
00:02:03.120 --> 00:02:07.439
of Guatemala, and the events on May seventh led to

41
00:02:07.480 --> 00:02:11.479
this terrible discovery of the mass pit. On May seventh,

42
00:02:11.479 --> 00:02:14.000
twenty twenty one, a woman was heard running down a

43
00:02:14.080 --> 00:02:17.719
street being chased by a man. The first phone call

44
00:02:17.759 --> 00:02:20.960
to police dispatchers came from the neighbor of the house

45
00:02:21.039 --> 00:02:24.000
the woman was seen escaping from, but the nine one

46
00:02:24.120 --> 00:02:27.439
one operator sounded so annoyed because the man is whispering

47
00:02:27.479 --> 00:02:29.560
when he made the call, and I mean he's probably

48
00:02:29.560 --> 00:02:32.400
scared for his life too, like yeah, and so he

49
00:02:32.439 --> 00:02:33.560
didn't really like listen.

50
00:02:33.639 --> 00:02:35.120
He's just like why are you whispering? Like I need

51
00:02:35.120 --> 00:02:37.039
to know where you are? And the guy.

52
00:02:36.919 --> 00:02:40.080
Who's like, it's just it's so like, why are you

53
00:02:40.120 --> 00:02:42.199
even a nine one one Dispatcher's so careless?

54
00:02:42.439 --> 00:02:44.080
Yeahh, I don't know. I mean like when.

55
00:02:43.879 --> 00:02:46.120
You're when you have these kind of jobs, you have

56
00:02:46.199 --> 00:02:48.639
to care about people. And if you don't, at least

57
00:02:48.639 --> 00:02:51.319
give some kind of semblance that you do until you

58
00:02:51.400 --> 00:02:53.080
get a new job where you don't have to work

59
00:02:53.120 --> 00:02:56.159
with people like this. Right. Meanwhile, the woman is still

60
00:02:56.240 --> 00:02:59.680
running from the man. One police unit did arrive after

61
00:02:59.719 --> 00:03:02.319
the Nameabor's call twenty minutes after his call, but they

62
00:03:02.360 --> 00:03:04.599
saw nothing and they just left, but they didn't really look.

63
00:03:04.719 --> 00:03:07.240
They just kind of like lanced and left. Then the

64
00:03:07.280 --> 00:03:10.599
same neighbor called nine one again and said that he

65
00:03:11.520 --> 00:03:14.120
thought he heard a gunshot, but he realizes now it

66
00:03:14.199 --> 00:03:16.719
might have been the man hitting the woman with something

67
00:03:17.479 --> 00:03:19.960
so something so loud that, I mean, it was loud

68
00:03:20.039 --> 00:03:22.240
enough for him to confuse with the gunshop He tells

69
00:03:22.280 --> 00:03:24.919
them check my neighbor's house because the man dragged the

70
00:03:24.960 --> 00:03:29.520
woman back inside. They don't seem concerned about his call

71
00:03:29.639 --> 00:03:33.199
at all. They hang up. Another twenty minutes go by.

72
00:03:33.800 --> 00:03:37.240
Nine one gets another call. Now it's a woman calling

73
00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:40.639
to report a possible femicide and that's the worst she uses.

74
00:03:40.840 --> 00:03:43.919
Then the dispatcher pretends to not understand what a femicide.

75
00:03:43.960 --> 00:03:48.599
Went femicide, Hello, said Latin America twenty twenty one. Everybody

76
00:03:48.680 --> 00:03:52.439
should know what a fucking femicide is one hundred percent.

77
00:03:52.759 --> 00:03:55.639
But no, he says, when you say femicide, I don't

78
00:03:55.800 --> 00:04:02.000
What are you referring to please The caller says, yes,

79
00:04:02.080 --> 00:04:04.439
if you don't arrive in time, she's not wasting time

80
00:04:04.479 --> 00:04:06.080
explaining a femicide to this man.

81
00:04:06.199 --> 00:04:06.919
I love this woman.

82
00:04:07.400 --> 00:04:10.039
Yeah, but she was right. If they didn't arrive on time,

83
00:04:10.439 --> 00:04:12.560
there was going to be a memicide. But at that

84
00:04:12.680 --> 00:04:15.680
point an hour had passed since the first neighbor called

85
00:04:15.719 --> 00:04:20.360
nine on one. Then there's silence in stebs Ali in Chachwapa.

86
00:04:20.720 --> 00:04:24.240
Now it's almost midnight, one and a half hours after

87
00:04:24.319 --> 00:04:27.519
the first call. Another police unit arrives and start to

88
00:04:27.519 --> 00:04:30.639
patrol the neighborhood. One officer follows a trail of blood

89
00:04:30.800 --> 00:04:33.720
leading to a house. They end up breaking the door

90
00:04:33.759 --> 00:04:36.480
down to that house. Unknown to them at that moment,

91
00:04:36.639 --> 00:04:40.319
but this house belongs to Ugo Ernesto Osorio Chaves and

92
00:04:40.360 --> 00:04:42.839
he had just let his throat he was trapped. When

93
00:04:42.879 --> 00:04:45.279
they finally knocked the door down, they were met with

94
00:04:45.399 --> 00:04:49.800
a horrifying scene, two women dead on the floor. They

95
00:04:50.560 --> 00:04:53.680
proceed through the house and in the back they find

96
00:04:54.000 --> 00:04:58.199
two more bodies. Then they see a pit measuring nine

97
00:04:58.399 --> 00:05:01.439
feet deep. Some later it'll come out there was more

98
00:05:01.480 --> 00:05:04.079
than one pit, and then there's also apparently a septic

99
00:05:04.120 --> 00:05:07.000
tank that also has more bodies in it. But the

100
00:05:07.040 --> 00:05:09.360
initial pit they saw was nine feet deep. They look

101
00:05:09.399 --> 00:05:12.480
inside and they see that this is full of dead

102
00:05:12.480 --> 00:05:15.879
people and body parts. Horrified, but then they see that

103
00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:18.560
one man is laying on top of all these body parts,

104
00:05:18.680 --> 00:05:23.920
still alive but bleeding out. That's where Uguernesto Chavist threw

105
00:05:24.000 --> 00:05:26.759
himself after trying to kill himself because he was trapped

106
00:05:26.759 --> 00:05:29.639
by the police, so he was apprehended taken to the

107
00:05:29.680 --> 00:05:33.120
hospital on the same day of his arrest. Later, he

108
00:05:33.199 --> 00:05:37.680
had confessed to having buried nearly forty bodies, which included

109
00:05:37.720 --> 00:05:40.279
mostly women, but also a seven year old girl and

110
00:05:40.319 --> 00:05:44.160
two boys aged two and nine, and this was not

111
00:05:44.199 --> 00:05:47.560
released right away. Over the next few days, rumors began.

112
00:05:48.360 --> 00:05:51.920
First they said fifteen bodies were reported. On May ninth,

113
00:05:52.000 --> 00:05:54.759
two days after this horrible discovery, there was a press

114
00:05:54.759 --> 00:05:57.759
conference right outside of the crime scene, and during this

115
00:05:58.680 --> 00:06:01.800
official said that thanks to the quick work of the police,

116
00:06:01.839 --> 00:06:04.040
they were able to apprehend this psychopath.

117
00:06:04.839 --> 00:06:07.560
Quick work. They let the woman die.

118
00:06:07.600 --> 00:06:09.720
They could have arrived sooner, they could have found her

119
00:06:10.079 --> 00:06:13.279
if they hadn't just ignored the tons of phone calls

120
00:06:13.319 --> 00:06:16.079
they were receiving from neighbors first of all. Then nothing

121
00:06:16.079 --> 00:06:19.199
else was shared at all. It was radio silence. No

122
00:06:19.240 --> 00:06:22.759
one said anything. Reporters could only speculate as they saw

123
00:06:22.879 --> 00:06:26.399
people and hazmat suits load body out their body and

124
00:06:26.480 --> 00:06:32.319
white bags into trucks, just body of their body a lot. Occasionally,

125
00:06:32.399 --> 00:06:35.759
different officials gave updates, but none of these numbers were

126
00:06:35.800 --> 00:06:38.639
adding up. One person said six people were carried away.

127
00:06:38.920 --> 00:06:41.680
Someone else had twenty four people. Another person said eight.

128
00:06:41.920 --> 00:06:44.959
These are all different officials and different capacities in the government,

129
00:06:45.040 --> 00:06:50.040
like the coroner, the attorney, defense attorney of cha chwapa,

130
00:06:50.079 --> 00:06:52.399
the blah blah blah. Right, different people, but they all

131
00:06:52.439 --> 00:06:56.120
give different numbers, all contradicting each other. And among all

132
00:06:56.199 --> 00:07:01.800
this silence, one person remained the most silent. Dudda who was.

133
00:07:04.199 --> 00:07:09.000
Could it be the man slash dictator of the hour?

134
00:07:09.839 --> 00:07:10.759
Yeah it was.

135
00:07:12.199 --> 00:07:16.800
Yeah. Two long weeks after the crime scene discovery, Naibukele

136
00:07:17.000 --> 00:07:20.839
broke that silence via Twitter, tweeting of course Twitter, No,

137
00:07:20.920 --> 00:07:24.000
of course it was a main source of propaganda. Yeah,

138
00:07:24.040 --> 00:07:27.319
I expect nothing else from this man. And he tweeted

139
00:07:27.360 --> 00:07:31.120
that Ugoo Soo, the confirmed killer of at least fifteen,

140
00:07:31.319 --> 00:07:33.720
was moved to a maximum security prison where he would

141
00:07:33.720 --> 00:07:35.839
remain for a very very very long time. And then

142
00:07:35.879 --> 00:07:39.560
after this, again radio silence, no public updates on the case,

143
00:07:39.839 --> 00:07:43.600
nor naming the possible victims, like nothing. But the digging

144
00:07:43.680 --> 00:07:48.160
continued and it was revealed that the other man found dead,

145
00:07:48.519 --> 00:07:51.680
one of the other men specifically found dead, was UGO's

146
00:07:51.680 --> 00:07:55.120
own brother. I don't know what's up with that, but

147
00:07:55.319 --> 00:07:58.439
apparently he killed his own brother. And then it came

148
00:07:58.439 --> 00:08:02.319
out ten people were charged with participating in what officials

149
00:08:02.360 --> 00:08:03.240
were saying was.

150
00:08:03.240 --> 00:08:05.120
A murder ring.

151
00:08:05.680 --> 00:08:10.279
And then after that news, police records released by La

152
00:08:10.319 --> 00:08:13.680
Prenzi Graphica reveal that's a newspaper and that's the phone.

153
00:08:13.800 --> 00:08:16.399
Revealed that nine of ten of these accused were all

154
00:08:16.439 --> 00:08:21.680
detained for things like appearing nervous, not carrying cell phone documents,

155
00:08:22.120 --> 00:08:26.199
carrying a suspicious cell phone, or for aggressive resistance. So

156
00:08:26.399 --> 00:08:30.639
of these ten being accused, nine were arrested for nothing

157
00:08:30.720 --> 00:08:34.200
to do with these murders. And I repeat that one

158
00:08:34.240 --> 00:08:37.480
of those arrests were made. Some of those arrests were

159
00:08:37.480 --> 00:08:40.320
made for not carrying cell phone documents, so like not

160
00:08:40.399 --> 00:08:42.039
being able to prove that your cell phone is your

161
00:08:42.039 --> 00:08:45.399
cell phone because they don't have the receipt. What Yeah, okay,

162
00:08:45.600 --> 00:08:48.519
look up there when you first said that, That's why

163
00:08:48.679 --> 00:08:49.519
I repeated it.

164
00:08:49.679 --> 00:08:50.960
That makes no sense.

165
00:08:51.200 --> 00:08:54.000
Who carries anything showing that your cell phone is your

166
00:08:54.000 --> 00:08:56.720
cell phone? Yeah, but that's one of the charges many

167
00:08:56.840 --> 00:09:00.120
what are the many arbitrary charges being used in it's

168
00:09:00.120 --> 00:09:00.600
out of a load.

169
00:09:01.559 --> 00:09:01.960
So yeah.

170
00:09:02.159 --> 00:09:05.120
And then as these ten you know, Brandow people were

171
00:09:05.159 --> 00:09:08.840
brought in, Ugle Sodio identified each one one by one like,

172
00:09:08.879 --> 00:09:12.240
oh he helped me kill this person and dig them up,

173
00:09:12.360 --> 00:09:15.279
he did this, and blah blah blah, and he even accused.

174
00:09:14.919 --> 00:09:15.440
His own neighbor.

175
00:09:15.480 --> 00:09:17.480
His own neighbor was brought in and then he was like, yes,

176
00:09:17.519 --> 00:09:26.120
my neighbor helped me too, so I mean it's called yeah, yeah, yeah.

177
00:09:26.159 --> 00:09:28.960
The police brought him in and Ugle also was like, oh, yes,

178
00:09:29.000 --> 00:09:30.559
he helped me kill someone else.

179
00:09:30.759 --> 00:09:35.759
Like he was just outdown people, honest. Something.

180
00:09:35.840 --> 00:09:38.720
He's talking out of his ass, right, maybe trying to,

181
00:09:38.799 --> 00:09:43.759
you know, get himself a deal. But there's no deals. Please, no, no,

182
00:09:43.799 --> 00:09:46.720
there's the opposite of deals, even for people. I mean,

183
00:09:46.759 --> 00:09:50.679
like this man obviously guilty, other people not guilty, still

184
00:09:51.240 --> 00:09:54.440
arrested for made up charges. So there was no deal here,

185
00:09:54.799 --> 00:09:58.159
no deal to be had. So that's just like the

186
00:09:58.279 --> 00:10:01.320
order of things that happened again with no information as

187
00:10:01.360 --> 00:10:01.799
to why.

188
00:10:02.000 --> 00:10:02.320
Nothing.

189
00:10:02.399 --> 00:10:04.399
There's like these ten people were brought in and then

190
00:10:04.440 --> 00:10:07.759
suddenly newspapers leaked information that like they're an added but

191
00:10:07.840 --> 00:10:10.639
these arrests, right, that's how things were going. And now

192
00:10:10.799 --> 00:10:14.360
back to the early days after the discovery, mothers of

193
00:10:14.399 --> 00:10:18.159
the many missing people and then Savadora flooded to Chachuapa

194
00:10:18.440 --> 00:10:21.440
hoping to find their kids in the remains, but again

195
00:10:21.559 --> 00:10:24.360
nothing was being shared, and thanks to the hard work

196
00:10:24.399 --> 00:10:28.639
of journalists on the ground like Brian Ablare and the

197
00:10:28.720 --> 00:10:31.600
newspaper Factum as well as La Pensuga Africa I was

198
00:10:31.639 --> 00:10:35.919
also putting things out and the FAO, as always, they

199
00:10:36.720 --> 00:10:40.919
were together to find out who the woman was that

200
00:10:42.039 --> 00:10:44.480
brought all this to light, like the woman running who

201
00:10:44.799 --> 00:10:47.399
who that was? Because that also wasn't shared in the

202
00:10:47.399 --> 00:10:51.200
beginning of all this. So it all began with the

203
00:10:51.559 --> 00:10:55.720
Palomo Lima Cruz family. Twenty four year old Alexis Palomo

204
00:10:55.759 --> 00:10:59.200
Cruz lived with his mom Mitna and his sister Jacqueline.

205
00:10:59.600 --> 00:11:02.000
Midna had set up a store in the outskirts of

206
00:11:02.039 --> 00:11:05.399
Santa Anna to support her kids, and Alexis was a

207
00:11:05.399 --> 00:11:08.639
medical student, but the job prospects were not looking good

208
00:11:08.720 --> 00:11:13.159
in Salvador and he started to strongly consider what doing

209
00:11:13.200 --> 00:11:16.759
what many Salvadorians have done for decades now, go to

210
00:11:16.799 --> 00:11:19.960
the US and that way he could help his family

211
00:11:20.320 --> 00:11:23.240
and you know, the American dream. It just sounds silly

212
00:11:23.279 --> 00:11:30.440
calling her to dream. But it also happened that Ugo

213
00:11:30.559 --> 00:11:36.519
Ernesto Osio Chavez frequented at the family store that Midna owned,

214
00:11:36.879 --> 00:11:42.639
and Midna and Jacqueline had both chatted with Ugosto about

215
00:11:42.679 --> 00:11:46.279
Alexis wanting to go to the US, and that's when

216
00:11:46.440 --> 00:11:49.679
Ugo Ernesto shared that one of his jobs was a coyote,

217
00:11:50.120 --> 00:11:53.480
being a coyote getting people to the US, and that

218
00:11:53.559 --> 00:11:57.080
he could help Alexis for seven thousand dollars. And Alexis

219
00:11:57.120 --> 00:11:59.360
was so excited to go he dropped out of medical

220
00:11:59.360 --> 00:12:02.080
school pre paired for the trip. Alexis even had to

221
00:12:02.120 --> 00:12:04.480
go to his abulito to help him come up with

222
00:12:04.519 --> 00:12:08.720
the full amount because together with Midnight Jacqueline Alexis, it

223
00:12:08.799 --> 00:12:12.559
wasn't enough. That's a lot of money, but they did

224
00:12:12.600 --> 00:12:17.600
it and on May fourth, twenty twenty one, Midna delivered

225
00:12:17.639 --> 00:12:21.279
the payment to Ugo Ednesto or Soio. Then on May seventh,

226
00:12:21.559 --> 00:12:25.759
Alexis said goodbye to his family and set off. They

227
00:12:25.799 --> 00:12:27.960
did not expect to speak to him again until he

228
00:12:28.159 --> 00:12:31.519
was in the US. But on that same night of

229
00:12:31.559 --> 00:12:36.200
the seventh, Ugo Ernesto Soo came by the store and

230
00:12:36.240 --> 00:12:39.440
he told Midna that something had gone wrong. He said

231
00:12:39.519 --> 00:12:43.120
Alexis had been kidnapped, but he could take her to

232
00:12:43.279 --> 00:12:49.840
his kidnappers. Midna agreed. Meanwhile, her daughter Jacqueline Christina overheard

233
00:12:49.879 --> 00:12:53.200
all this. She stayed behind, but she was very very

234
00:12:53.480 --> 00:12:58.320
worried and suspicious, and so Jacqueline she went by Christina

235
00:12:58.440 --> 00:13:03.879
or Christine. She was twenty six at this time, and

236
00:13:04.360 --> 00:13:07.159
so Alexis is the baby brother and she's the older sister,

237
00:13:07.639 --> 00:13:10.399
and she was always there for him, very protective of him.

238
00:13:10.600 --> 00:13:13.600
She also practiced judo every single day, and she rode

239
00:13:13.639 --> 00:13:16.639
her bike everywhere. That's how she got around. So all

240
00:13:16.679 --> 00:13:20.879
this to say, she was a very strong, loyal, active,

241
00:13:21.480 --> 00:13:24.759
fierce woman. And so when she noticed that her mom

242
00:13:25.120 --> 00:13:28.919
was not back, she of course when looking for her, like,

243
00:13:28.960 --> 00:13:31.679
this is taking too long, let me go find my mom.

244
00:13:32.279 --> 00:13:36.960
And meanwhile, of course Jackline Christina didn't know at the time,

245
00:13:37.279 --> 00:13:40.720
but when Mina and Ugo Ernesto Sodo got to the

246
00:13:40.759 --> 00:13:45.440
supposed house, it was really his house. And when when

247
00:13:45.480 --> 00:13:48.840
he opened the door, she had to she came across her.

248
00:13:48.679 --> 00:13:50.679
Son dead on the floor. Oh my god.

249
00:13:51.240 --> 00:13:54.639
Then Ugo Esto attacked her with an iron pipe hitty.

250
00:13:54.720 --> 00:13:58.240
This was his emo, hitting people across the head with

251
00:13:58.320 --> 00:14:01.120
his iron pipe almost as soon as they stepped in

252
00:14:01.159 --> 00:14:03.840
the door, and then doing discussing things after that when

253
00:14:04.039 --> 00:14:06.120
and then again, so this is what was happening, and

254
00:14:06.200 --> 00:14:09.080
Christina didn't know and so she went looking for her,

255
00:14:09.320 --> 00:14:12.960
and she went to Ugunesto's house, practically forced her way

256
00:14:13.000 --> 00:14:16.159
in and saw her brother and her mom dead on

257
00:14:16.200 --> 00:14:20.159
the floor. Ugatneslo tried attacking her too, but again she

258
00:14:20.240 --> 00:14:22.399
did judo every day. She fought him off and she

259
00:14:22.519 --> 00:14:25.399
ran away, and she screamed at the top of her

260
00:14:25.480 --> 00:14:28.759
lungs for help as Ugo ed Nesto Sodio chased after

261
00:14:28.799 --> 00:14:31.480
her with his iron pipe in his hand. This is

262
00:14:31.519 --> 00:14:35.440
what neighbors heard and reported. And again, if police actually

263
00:14:35.519 --> 00:14:39.440
had listened to the first neighbor and had actually properly

264
00:14:39.480 --> 00:14:41.679
looked around, they would have got there in time to

265
00:14:41.720 --> 00:14:46.519
prevent another death. Yeah, or murder, I should say, yes, exactly,

266
00:14:46.879 --> 00:14:49.600
and so fast forward. This was May seventh, and again

267
00:14:50.080 --> 00:14:52.840
I kind of went over the what happened. Then the

268
00:14:52.879 --> 00:14:56.080
next you know, several days where no information was provided,

269
00:14:57.000 --> 00:15:02.080
everything was no one was saying anything but mothers and

270
00:15:02.200 --> 00:15:04.720
father people looking for their missing loved ones were flooding

271
00:15:04.720 --> 00:15:09.039
the area because they heard about the mass pit pits

272
00:15:09.320 --> 00:15:12.960
plural so. On May twentieth, three weeks after the discovery

273
00:15:12.960 --> 00:15:18.000
of the mass grave, journalist Bryan Avelad received the document.

274
00:15:19.039 --> 00:15:23.759
It was UGO's official confession, so again he confessed. He

275
00:15:23.919 --> 00:15:27.039
confessed the same day he was apprehended and taken to

276
00:15:27.120 --> 00:15:31.000
the hospital. But none of this was revealed until May twentieth,

277
00:15:31.080 --> 00:15:35.200
and that's because someone anonymously sent it to the journalist Bryan.

278
00:15:35.320 --> 00:15:38.679
They liked this information, yes, and that's the only reason

279
00:15:38.759 --> 00:15:42.600
that it came to light. And then even then Brian

280
00:15:42.759 --> 00:15:46.200
received it and him, along with the newspaper factor had

281
00:15:46.200 --> 00:15:48.799
to decide do we want to publicizes? Like? Do we

282
00:15:49.240 --> 00:15:51.200
but they felt that they needed to, But they knew

283
00:15:51.240 --> 00:15:54.000
it was going to be a dangerous thing because so

284
00:15:54.159 --> 00:15:58.840
in the confession Ugo Ernesto Rio childs he confessed to

285
00:15:59.399 --> 00:16:03.120
murdering and raping at least thirteen people, with details on

286
00:16:03.279 --> 00:16:06.039
how he lured them to his house, how he killed them.

287
00:16:06.720 --> 00:16:10.799
But the dates of his crimes in this confession directly

288
00:16:11.000 --> 00:16:17.559
contradicted the official account of the country's president, because Naibukele

289
00:16:17.759 --> 00:16:21.440
had tweeted out that all of U's crimes were committed

290
00:16:21.600 --> 00:16:23.200
before his time as president.

291
00:16:23.639 --> 00:16:24.639
Why would he do that?

292
00:16:25.320 --> 00:16:27.720
Should we explain? I feel like we have our well, okay,

293
00:16:27.799 --> 00:16:30.919
if you listen to I have a little extra explaining this.

294
00:16:31.200 --> 00:16:33.360
I don't know, no, I didn't Okay, Okay, then yeah

295
00:16:33.399 --> 00:16:34.080
you should explain.

296
00:16:34.240 --> 00:16:37.720
Okay, So if you've listened to our other podcast as known,

297
00:16:37.720 --> 00:16:40.000
you're very aware of why the president would want to

298
00:16:40.080 --> 00:16:42.360
change these dates. But if you haven't listened to that,

299
00:16:43.960 --> 00:16:48.600
Nai Bukele's whole platform, right, this whole mano thing he

300
00:16:48.720 --> 00:16:51.799
has done, the state of exception, the arrests, the mass

301
00:16:51.919 --> 00:16:56.080
arrests of South Durant people under the premise of all

302
00:16:56.120 --> 00:16:59.600
of them being gang members, even though human rights organizations

303
00:16:59.639 --> 00:17:01.799
have found that only one third of the one hundred

304
00:17:01.840 --> 00:17:05.079
thousand plus Salvadorians arrested are actual gang members. Only one

305
00:17:05.119 --> 00:17:07.160
third of that number. Right, Sorry, I'm just like speeding

306
00:17:07.200 --> 00:17:08.920
through this because I'm just sick of it, right, I'm

307
00:17:08.960 --> 00:17:13.160
so tired. Of course, of course, so you know, all

308
00:17:13.200 --> 00:17:15.319
these people have been arrested under the premise that this

309
00:17:15.400 --> 00:17:18.279
country is now safe, It's now the safest country. He

310
00:17:18.440 --> 00:17:22.000
turned the country from murder capital of the world, zero

311
00:17:22.240 --> 00:17:26.240
murders to zero murders, and if the real dates of

312
00:17:26.359 --> 00:17:31.119
these crimes came out, it would contradict his zero murders stance.

313
00:17:32.799 --> 00:17:36.839
The whole, his whole thing, So that's why he lied

314
00:17:36.920 --> 00:17:39.559
and tweeted that all these crimes were committed before his

315
00:17:39.680 --> 00:17:42.759
time as president, even though the dates on this confession

316
00:17:43.160 --> 00:17:50.960
said otherwise. And the confession also brought out new information

317
00:17:52.039 --> 00:17:56.319
that Osrio did not act alone. Most of us victims

318
00:17:56.359 --> 00:17:59.799
were young women, all low income, who were lured with

319
00:18:00.079 --> 00:18:03.720
either the promise of a job or financial support, but sometimes,

320
00:18:03.880 --> 00:18:06.960
like people he knew, brought over their own victims and

321
00:18:07.039 --> 00:18:09.920
they apparently killed them together, is what he is alluding

322
00:18:09.960 --> 00:18:13.160
to in his confession or confessing to, I guess is

323
00:18:13.200 --> 00:18:15.640
the right word. And so this is how he lured

324
00:18:15.680 --> 00:18:19.880
sixteen year old Reyna, who worked selling handbags ten minutes

325
00:18:19.920 --> 00:18:23.240
from Ugua Nesto's home. Two men approached her at her

326
00:18:23.359 --> 00:18:25.359
stall and they told her they could get her a

327
00:18:25.440 --> 00:18:28.640
better job selling cell phones at a new stand that

328
00:18:28.759 --> 00:18:30.200
was going to open, and the sent that on a

329
00:18:30.319 --> 00:18:33.920
mall like a new Kiosk. And after two weeks of

330
00:18:34.240 --> 00:18:37.400
trying to what, she took their phone numbers because they

331
00:18:37.440 --> 00:18:39.519
were like, well, at least she was like not sure

332
00:18:39.559 --> 00:18:41.160
about taking the job, and so he was like, here's

333
00:18:41.160 --> 00:18:45.000
my phone number if you change her mind. They exchanged

334
00:18:45.000 --> 00:18:47.160
phone numbers and then they were just hounding her on

335
00:18:47.240 --> 00:18:49.440
the phone, trying to convince her to take this job.

336
00:18:49.839 --> 00:18:51.640
They're like, oh, it's a better job than we're doing now,

337
00:18:51.720 --> 00:18:54.480
you don't make more money, and I mean, who doesn't

338
00:18:54.480 --> 00:18:55.279
want to make more money?

339
00:18:55.440 --> 00:18:57.920
Right? Right? After two weeks of trying to convince her

340
00:18:58.000 --> 00:19:01.880
to take the job, she accepted. So she had breakfast

341
00:19:01.960 --> 00:19:04.559
with her mom. She said goodbye for her first day

342
00:19:04.599 --> 00:19:09.480
of work, or so she thought, because instead Unesto Sorio

343
00:19:09.839 --> 00:19:13.400
took her to his house where an accomplice was already

344
00:19:13.480 --> 00:19:17.640
waiting for them. And then, according to his confession, which

345
00:19:17.720 --> 00:19:22.000
matches Whatreina had told her mom already about meeting two

346
00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:25.480
men who offered the job, his confession included that part.

347
00:19:26.160 --> 00:19:28.440
So then you know, when he took her to her

348
00:19:28.480 --> 00:19:30.799
house and the encompass was waiting. According to the confession,

349
00:19:30.920 --> 00:19:35.440
Ugosorio stepped out, and that's when the accomplice killed her.

350
00:19:35.799 --> 00:19:39.119
Then he stepped back in. They did discussing things, and

351
00:19:39.200 --> 00:19:42.559
they buried her in the pit behind his house. This

352
00:19:42.799 --> 00:19:46.119
all happened March twenty eighth, twenty twenty one, and so

353
00:19:46.359 --> 00:19:50.720
again contributing the dates that Naibukele said, all these crimes

354
00:19:50.759 --> 00:19:55.000
all happened and so uh On March twenty eight, twenty

355
00:19:55.039 --> 00:19:58.559
twenty one, When Rena's mom, Daisy, noticed that she hadn't

356
00:19:58.559 --> 00:20:01.000
come home, she went to the police to report her missing,

357
00:20:01.400 --> 00:20:04.319
but instead of helping, the police were dismissive. Then they

358
00:20:04.480 --> 00:20:07.200
told her they could accuse her of letting her child's work,

359
00:20:07.440 --> 00:20:11.000
which is not a crime. Many teens work, Oh my god,

360
00:20:11.119 --> 00:20:12.839
and it's not other works, that is not a crime.

361
00:20:13.079 --> 00:20:15.559
Then they threatened to detain her, and they very much could.

362
00:20:15.839 --> 00:20:17.680
At this point in time, the state of exception had

363
00:20:17.720 --> 00:20:20.519
already been going on, which means they could arrest anyone

364
00:20:20.599 --> 00:20:23.319
for anything. Yeah, and so this isn't real tame and

365
00:20:23.400 --> 00:20:26.440
give them a reason, right, yeah, to process?

366
00:20:26.799 --> 00:20:28.880
No, none at all. And so they very much could

367
00:20:28.960 --> 00:20:31.759
detained her for no reason. But she did not waiver.

368
00:20:32.000 --> 00:20:34.799
This is her daughter. There was a ton of back and.

369
00:20:34.880 --> 00:20:38.039
Forth, and finally they filed the missing persons report and

370
00:20:38.640 --> 00:20:43.720
then they did nothing. Daisy continued to search for Rena

371
00:20:44.319 --> 00:20:47.920
until May, when her landlord called her and said, hey,

372
00:20:48.079 --> 00:20:51.839
have you heard about child Chwapa. They are finding a

373
00:20:51.880 --> 00:20:56.519
bunch of bodies in several graves mass graves and maybe

374
00:20:56.599 --> 00:21:02.079
your daughter is there. So Daisy started making call after call.

375
00:21:02.359 --> 00:21:07.799
She finally got to the district attorney's office, and whoever

376
00:21:07.799 --> 00:21:09.079
I answered the phone, I forget.

377
00:21:08.880 --> 00:21:09.319
Who it was.

378
00:21:09.400 --> 00:21:13.920
It's like the main attorney there, attorney, I don't know

379
00:21:14.000 --> 00:21:16.640
the term. Sorry anyway, the da like the district, the.

380
00:21:16.640 --> 00:21:18.319
Tree Yeah, yeah, the main one. Yeah.

381
00:21:18.839 --> 00:21:21.400
So this person told her in a very annoyed voice

382
00:21:21.519 --> 00:21:24.920
that only two bodies had been discovered in the child case,

383
00:21:25.319 --> 00:21:27.720
and her daughter was not one of them. But there

384
00:21:27.799 --> 00:21:31.039
was so much contradicting information already, because already there was

385
00:21:31.200 --> 00:21:35.599
news of people on the ground saying no there more yeah, yes,

386
00:21:35.880 --> 00:21:39.119
exactly what I said earlier, that's what was happening. And

387
00:21:39.319 --> 00:21:43.000
so because of all that contradicting information, Daisy and her

388
00:21:43.079 --> 00:21:45.039
older daughter were like, no, we need to go down

389
00:21:45.079 --> 00:21:47.440
to the crime scene ourselves. And they did and it

390
00:21:47.559 --> 00:21:49.519
was like a ten mile walk for them. They didn't

391
00:21:49.519 --> 00:21:52.240
have a car room, but they went. They got to

392
00:21:52.319 --> 00:21:55.759
the scene. No one confirmed anything for them. She showed

393
00:21:55.799 --> 00:21:59.319
them pictures like again, no one is talking. And it's

394
00:21:59.359 --> 00:22:05.400
weird because normally the coroner had previously worked with Bryan

395
00:22:06.039 --> 00:22:10.359
the journalist and victims, telling them, oh, yes, this is

396
00:22:10.440 --> 00:22:10.880
your child.

397
00:22:11.079 --> 00:22:11.240
Yes.

398
00:22:11.319 --> 00:22:14.319
He was like very right, yeah, almost as if someone

399
00:22:15.680 --> 00:22:20.160
told people to keep this on the low low. Yes, hm, exactly,

400
00:22:20.640 --> 00:22:24.440
And back to that confession. That confession confirmed Rena was

401
00:22:24.519 --> 00:22:28.480
one of his many victims. But nobody told Daisy until

402
00:22:28.599 --> 00:22:33.599
like months months later, literal months, and before they told her.

403
00:22:34.240 --> 00:22:37.880
They basically not forced her, but like told her, oh,

404
00:22:38.039 --> 00:22:43.039
you should go to our court appointed psychologists to help

405
00:22:43.079 --> 00:22:46.559
with the grief. And someone told her, yet, you know,

406
00:22:46.680 --> 00:22:50.039
these things do help with grief. But it was really

407
00:22:50.400 --> 00:22:53.039
this so they could use this to call her crazy

408
00:22:53.160 --> 00:22:56.559
later because she was not giving up and finding her daughter.

409
00:22:56.920 --> 00:23:00.960
The murder of her daughter contradicts the dates the president

410
00:23:01.079 --> 00:23:03.480
is saying these murders happened. They don't want to tell her,

411
00:23:03.640 --> 00:23:05.920
they want to keep it hidden from her, and then

412
00:23:07.680 --> 00:23:11.279
they made her sound crazy for trying to discover what happened.

413
00:23:11.319 --> 00:23:15.160
It's like for to discredit her later on, like exactly, oh,

414
00:23:15.240 --> 00:23:18.599
she doesn't actually like, there's no basis for her continuing

415
00:23:18.680 --> 00:23:20.640
to search, Like, look, she's seen a psychiatrist.

416
00:23:20.759 --> 00:23:22.200
She's crazy. Don't listen to her.

417
00:23:22.680 --> 00:23:24.960
Yeah, yeah, And it's like, how do you do that

418
00:23:25.039 --> 00:23:27.640
to someone looking for their child? But no, and so

419
00:23:27.799 --> 00:23:29.720
brother does this all the time to people looking for

420
00:23:29.799 --> 00:23:31.799
their missing loved ones. She's not the only one that

421
00:23:31.920 --> 00:23:35.319
this has happened to at all, So okay, let's move back.

422
00:23:35.359 --> 00:23:40.240
Sorry the confession. The confession also included how he would

423
00:23:40.319 --> 00:23:43.440
lend his home to friends who wanted to sexually abuse women,

424
00:23:44.000 --> 00:23:45.599
and then he would help them get rid of the

425
00:23:45.640 --> 00:23:50.160
bodies in his Also, deranged men got together and said

426
00:23:50.720 --> 00:23:53.200
they fight each other, these dearranged people, they find each

427
00:23:53.240 --> 00:23:57.200
other no truly, And he charged the fee for this service.

428
00:23:57.880 --> 00:24:00.319
Oh my god, I'm getting it's not the same, but

429
00:24:00.480 --> 00:24:03.920
it's reminded me of the Pelicot case. I don't know

430
00:24:03.960 --> 00:24:05.160
how to say her last name, but you know the

431
00:24:05.240 --> 00:24:10.400
woman whose husband trying her every night and letting men

432
00:24:10.799 --> 00:24:14.400
sexually abuse her. Like those de arranged men found each

433
00:24:14.400 --> 00:24:17.839
other to do these horrendous things to this woman. And likewise,

434
00:24:17.920 --> 00:24:21.400
here these arranged men found each other to commit horrendous

435
00:24:21.799 --> 00:24:25.640
crimes against women. So this is how a thirty six

436
00:24:25.759 --> 00:24:27.680
year old woman and her nine year old daughter became

437
00:24:27.720 --> 00:24:29.240
part of the remains in the pits.

438
00:24:29.319 --> 00:24:29.920
Oh my god.

439
00:24:30.359 --> 00:24:33.480
And again the official count of the bodies found it

440
00:24:33.599 --> 00:24:38.200
was never confirmed. The only official names released were those

441
00:24:38.279 --> 00:24:43.599
of Alexis Midna and Jacqueline Christina, and they later said

442
00:24:43.640 --> 00:24:46.640
twelve victims were delivered to their families in October twenty

443
00:24:46.680 --> 00:24:50.079
twenty one, and the prosecutor of the case said there

444
00:24:50.160 --> 00:24:52.880
was thirty three bodies removed from the pits. Like again,

445
00:24:53.200 --> 00:24:56.920
so who else was found there? Yeah, and their families

446
00:24:57.000 --> 00:25:03.000
deserved to know? Yesonymous source stated that municipal cemeteries have

447
00:25:03.240 --> 00:25:06.880
not received any other bones relating to the case. Just

448
00:25:07.160 --> 00:25:10.119
four bodies from the pit have been buried in cha

449
00:25:10.240 --> 00:25:13.920
Chuapa cemetery. No one knows where the arrest are since then,

450
00:25:14.480 --> 00:25:18.759
since then, wow, what the fuck? Yeah, And just a

451
00:25:18.799 --> 00:25:22.119
little bit about this fucking deranged man. Ugo Sorio was

452
00:25:22.200 --> 00:25:25.519
born February sixth, nineteen seventy. He stayed in school until

453
00:25:25.599 --> 00:25:28.440
nineteen Sorry, he stayed in school until ninth grade, and

454
00:25:28.559 --> 00:25:31.279
he joined the police force at twenty seven, where he

455
00:25:31.440 --> 00:25:34.599
remained until two thousand and five. He was kicked out

456
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:37.480
of the police for aggressive sexual behavior and I mean,

457
00:25:37.559 --> 00:25:39.079
it has to be bad if they're kicking you out,

458
00:25:39.079 --> 00:25:42.319
because that's like me all for them. Yeah yeah, and

459
00:25:42.440 --> 00:25:46.440
also for raping a minor. So he spent five years

460
00:25:46.480 --> 00:25:48.599
in prison for that and then he was released and

461
00:25:48.839 --> 00:25:53.000
he continued his crimes. He was connected to the disappearance

462
00:25:53.079 --> 00:25:56.920
of a woman around that after his release, but nothing

463
00:25:57.559 --> 00:26:00.279
happened to him. From that, he was also arrested for

464
00:26:00.359 --> 00:26:04.000
trying to solicit a fifteen year old for sex. Then

465
00:26:04.440 --> 00:26:07.680
he was suspected for the involvement with a trafficking ring

466
00:26:08.000 --> 00:26:10.680
that was linked to eight disappeared girls in Guatemala.

467
00:26:11.400 --> 00:26:14.480
Wow, I'm sure he was involved. Oh yeah, no doubt.

468
00:26:15.079 --> 00:26:18.680
Then he was again accused of raping a minor, but

469
00:26:18.920 --> 00:26:22.880
he was never once arrested for this. This was back

470
00:26:22.920 --> 00:26:27.359
in twenty nineteen. Douglas Antonio Ernandez brought a young relative

471
00:26:27.400 --> 00:26:30.720
of his to his house, to Ugo at Nestosdio's house,

472
00:26:30.920 --> 00:26:34.920
and Douglas Antonio Nandez had already been sexually assaulting this

473
00:26:35.119 --> 00:26:39.519
young relative of his. Then he brought her to this

474
00:26:39.720 --> 00:26:42.799
man's house right and then the range finding each other. Yeah,

475
00:26:43.119 --> 00:26:46.039
they assaulted her. The girl managed to escape and the

476
00:26:46.119 --> 00:26:49.440
family took her to the police and they filed a

477
00:26:49.599 --> 00:26:54.680
complaint and and arrest warrant was made, but nothing happened.

478
00:26:56.759 --> 00:26:59.839
Ugo Sorio was only charged. Sorry, now we're back in

479
00:26:59.880 --> 00:27:03.039
the present of this case, so May twenty twenty one.

480
00:27:03.160 --> 00:27:07.359
After all that, After all that, Ugo Soo was only

481
00:27:07.480 --> 00:27:10.440
charged with the double femicide of Midna and her daughter

482
00:27:10.759 --> 00:27:13.960
Jacqueline Christina, and what about all the other bodies that

483
00:27:14.039 --> 00:27:18.720
were found there? And right he confess to confess thirteen yeah,

484
00:27:18.839 --> 00:27:21.000
oh my gosh, and he was only charged with three.

485
00:27:21.440 --> 00:27:26.119
He was only charged with two Milna and Christina. Oh wow. Yeah.

486
00:27:26.440 --> 00:27:29.440
He received a seventy year sentence on June tenth, twenty

487
00:27:29.480 --> 00:27:31.640
twenty two, and then in November of that same year,

488
00:27:31.720 --> 00:27:34.680
he was sentenced to an additional eighteen years for the

489
00:27:34.839 --> 00:27:38.960
rape of a minor, the girl that escaped, the one

490
00:27:39.000 --> 00:27:42.079
from twenty nineteen. That's when he received an additional eighteen

491
00:27:42.160 --> 00:27:44.880
years for that. But journalists were not allowed to enter

492
00:27:45.440 --> 00:27:49.519
his trial, and there was supposed to be a separate

493
00:27:49.599 --> 00:27:53.079
trial to charge him for the murder of Alexis, but

494
00:27:53.720 --> 00:27:55.599
that has not happened yet to this day.

495
00:27:55.640 --> 00:27:57.400
Why not, I don't know.

496
00:27:58.440 --> 00:28:01.720
And also re Nazma, their Daisy has not received any

497
00:28:01.759 --> 00:28:04.599
word of charges brought forward for her murder either, but

498
00:28:04.759 --> 00:28:07.880
she is in the confession she was found in the pit,

499
00:28:08.400 --> 00:28:11.400
so he was never charged with that either, even though

500
00:28:11.440 --> 00:28:13.839
it should have been like clear cut at least for

501
00:28:13.960 --> 00:28:14.920
Alexis Andrena.

502
00:28:15.319 --> 00:28:18.440
I guess because it doesn't line up with the statement

503
00:28:18.640 --> 00:28:24.200
that bo that's my suspicion. Yeah. Yeah, and they only

504
00:28:24.240 --> 00:28:27.559
did the other two because they had to do something right. Yeah.

505
00:28:28.000 --> 00:28:30.680
On April twenty sixth, twenty twenty three, there was a

506
00:28:30.759 --> 00:28:34.200
trial for the nine of the ten that he accused,

507
00:28:34.839 --> 00:28:38.319
the people that were arrested, but then they were all acquitted.

508
00:28:38.839 --> 00:28:41.319
The judge said that there was zero evidence connected them

509
00:28:41.400 --> 00:28:43.799
to the case and their charges were only based on

510
00:28:43.920 --> 00:28:47.720
the accusation of Ugo or Sodio, and they were released.

511
00:28:48.680 --> 00:28:52.680
But then suddenly they were arrested again. What Yeah, and

512
00:28:53.079 --> 00:28:56.359
six of them received sentences between twenty to one hundred

513
00:28:56.359 --> 00:28:59.720
and ten years in prison for what. I don't know.

514
00:29:00.000 --> 00:29:02.759
Couldn't find their charges. I did find three of the

515
00:29:03.160 --> 00:29:07.160
other three the lesser charges they were sentenced to. They

516
00:29:07.200 --> 00:29:11.200
were sentenced for the crime of illicit groups, meaning accused.

517
00:29:10.799 --> 00:29:11.440
Of being waiting.

518
00:29:12.279 --> 00:29:15.880
Oh my god, I honestly believe that they were arrestigious

519
00:29:16.039 --> 00:29:20.480
for this man Aluda. Look, I'm sure, yeah, because again

520
00:29:20.519 --> 00:29:23.000
they were already released for zero evidence connected them to

521
00:29:23.079 --> 00:29:26.519
the case. And it's very like he probably did have accompasses.

522
00:29:28.079 --> 00:29:31.279
I mean two men talked about yes, yeah, like two

523
00:29:31.359 --> 00:29:34.880
men lured DNA to the house, and he talked about

524
00:29:34.880 --> 00:29:37.680
another case in his confession, he confessed to it, the

525
00:29:37.720 --> 00:29:41.599
one with the nine year old girl. But if these

526
00:29:41.720 --> 00:29:44.839
ten men at first there was zero evidence connecting them

527
00:29:44.880 --> 00:29:47.920
to the the to him, it makes me think that

528
00:29:48.039 --> 00:29:51.119
and the judge said that, yeah, but you just one

529
00:29:51.160 --> 00:29:52.119
of the judges.

530
00:29:51.799 --> 00:29:54.720
That was fired, and then then a different judges.

531
00:29:54.799 --> 00:29:59.200
Right sentence them during this time period and people, yes,

532
00:29:59.240 --> 00:30:01.319
that's remind people we have talked about this any stories

533
00:30:01.359 --> 00:30:03.960
and known, but that's a little history is political, and

534
00:30:04.400 --> 00:30:07.400
so we talk about political things over there. I Spokita's

535
00:30:07.400 --> 00:30:09.319
not so much, but you have to you must know

536
00:30:10.039 --> 00:30:13.880
that bud arrest or sorry fire a bunch of judges

537
00:30:14.359 --> 00:30:16.680
under the excuse of like, no one over this age

538
00:30:16.720 --> 00:30:18.960
should be a judge. And then so that fired a

539
00:30:19.000 --> 00:30:23.359
bunch of judges proceeding over a lot of important cases, including.

540
00:30:23.000 --> 00:30:24.759
The Santa Marta five. Look into that.

541
00:30:24.839 --> 00:30:26.559
If you don't know what that is, we're not going

542
00:30:26.640 --> 00:30:28.839
to talk about it today, but it's an important case.

543
00:30:29.160 --> 00:30:31.720
And also like the trial of Msote.

544
00:30:32.880 --> 00:30:35.279
Like but also probably this one, like are we did

545
00:30:35.400 --> 00:30:39.440
talk about at Ustodiasa No, yes we did so. Yeah,

546
00:30:39.720 --> 00:30:42.160
during this time period, a bunch of judges were fired,

547
00:30:42.480 --> 00:30:45.519
and so it's suspicious that there was zero evidence and

548
00:30:45.559 --> 00:30:48.880
then suddenly they were arrested again, and it's it's almost

549
00:30:49.000 --> 00:30:51.960
like it's I wonder if these were the actual ten

550
00:30:52.039 --> 00:30:54.400
men that were his accomplices. I there are probably his

551
00:30:54.440 --> 00:30:57.759
accomplices are probably just out there, like, oh, I'm sure, yeah,

552
00:30:57.920 --> 00:30:59.880
continue deranged business.

553
00:31:00.119 --> 00:31:03.279
Yeah. Especially they were like important people and they could

554
00:31:03.319 --> 00:31:04.319
have been Yeah.

555
00:31:05.079 --> 00:31:07.039
They don't want to make themselves look bad, right, but

556
00:31:07.119 --> 00:31:09.160
they want to say, look at us being tough on crime,

557
00:31:09.359 --> 00:31:13.559
arresting these people who were found zero evidence at first. Right,

558
00:31:13.720 --> 00:31:16.640
does this include a neighbor that called you know, I

559
00:31:16.720 --> 00:31:17.039
don't know.

560
00:31:17.119 --> 00:31:19.000
But I think so. I think, oh my god, that

561
00:31:19.160 --> 00:31:20.000
is so unfortunate.

562
00:31:20.720 --> 00:31:24.759
Yeah, I can't be sure because it's nine, right, Like

563
00:31:24.880 --> 00:31:28.079
there was ten accused, but I only found nine of

564
00:31:28.200 --> 00:31:30.200
the ten that were sentenced, So maybe he used the

565
00:31:30.279 --> 00:31:32.079
tenth one and it wasn't He was the last one

566
00:31:32.160 --> 00:31:35.279
arrested for this, so oh, maybe not. Bet. I couldn't

567
00:31:35.279 --> 00:31:38.440
find any information. Again, it's very hard to find information

568
00:31:38.559 --> 00:31:41.480
on this. And it's not for the lack of translation. Yeah,

569
00:31:42.400 --> 00:31:44.839
because we know Spanish, we can read Spanish. No, it's

570
00:31:44.920 --> 00:31:47.880
not there's not a lot of It's all been really

571
00:31:48.000 --> 00:31:51.079
really hidden. Even from the beginning, they were hiding information

572
00:31:51.319 --> 00:31:56.720
on this, and even Factoom's original paper with our article

573
00:31:56.960 --> 00:32:00.720
with the confession legally had to be removed. You can't

574
00:32:00.720 --> 00:32:04.480
find that anymore and I couldn't find it. Yeah, if

575
00:32:04.519 --> 00:32:07.000
you go to the website, it says like we legally

576
00:32:07.079 --> 00:32:10.000
had to remove this because the court said blah blah

577
00:32:10.000 --> 00:32:12.400
blah blah, and yeah, they you have to remove it.

578
00:32:14.559 --> 00:32:21.519
So there's still no answer for why he was never

579
00:32:21.680 --> 00:32:25.440
arrested for anything prior to you know, the May second,

580
00:32:25.440 --> 00:32:29.640
twenty twenty one and then the discovery of the mass

581
00:32:29.720 --> 00:32:32.720
pits or no explanation as to why he was in

582
00:32:32.880 --> 00:32:36.640
charge with the other two. Right after his arrest, the

583
00:32:36.680 --> 00:32:39.279
Salvadorian government kept saying he was a psychopath, but a

584
00:32:39.319 --> 00:32:43.960
psychiatry assessment leaked by Elfado revealed that there was a

585
00:32:44.079 --> 00:32:48.400
psychiatry assessment done and Google Sodio Chravis was considered mentally

586
00:32:48.480 --> 00:32:51.279
competent and understood right from wrong, but he just did

587
00:32:51.319 --> 00:32:56.640
the wrong thing anyway. But like this psychiatric assessment, you know,

588
00:32:56.759 --> 00:32:59.359
claimed that he wasn't a psychopath, like he just doesn't

589
00:32:59.400 --> 00:33:01.680
care about other people, which honestly sounds like a psychopath, but.

590
00:33:01.920 --> 00:33:03.240
That's what the assessment says.

591
00:33:03.839 --> 00:33:05.519
But again, you could be like it could just I

592
00:33:05.559 --> 00:33:08.079
don't know what, you could do bad things, and I

593
00:33:08.160 --> 00:33:10.920
guess not do not be a psychopath.

594
00:33:10.960 --> 00:33:11.480
Right, you know?

595
00:33:11.640 --> 00:33:15.160
Yeah? Yeah, But all this to just show how the

596
00:33:15.240 --> 00:33:20.400
government is lying and then newspapers are leaking the real

597
00:33:20.559 --> 00:33:24.480
information and now and for since the start of his administration,

598
00:33:24.759 --> 00:33:30.279
newspapers have been attacked by the administrations, including and follow

599
00:33:30.319 --> 00:33:33.160
being like almost shut down and journalists having to flee.

600
00:33:34.680 --> 00:33:37.200
Well didn't I'm going to talk about that.

601
00:33:37.319 --> 00:33:42.480
Yeah. Oh so just a little bit more on this

602
00:33:42.559 --> 00:33:45.680
deranged man. Again, his neighbors considered him an okay person

603
00:33:45.720 --> 00:33:49.400
who kept himself, even sometimes thinking of him as kind.

604
00:33:49.519 --> 00:33:51.400
And this just goes to show you never know what's

605
00:33:51.400 --> 00:33:54.279
going on behind closed doors exactly, And it goes to

606
00:33:54.400 --> 00:33:57.920
show that he was not crazy because in different settings

607
00:33:58.039 --> 00:34:01.960
he presented as normal. Yeah. Uh. Those who knew him

608
00:34:02.160 --> 00:34:05.119
in the past knew he always had anger issues. He

609
00:34:05.240 --> 00:34:07.640
had children with several women over the years, but he

610
00:34:07.720 --> 00:34:09.320
never lived with any of them. He would just like

611
00:34:09.440 --> 00:34:11.840
go to sometimes see the kids, and at least one

612
00:34:11.880 --> 00:34:15.639
woman stated he was physically abusive to her while you know,

613
00:34:15.719 --> 00:34:18.440
seeing the kids and like it was like he never

614
00:34:18.480 --> 00:34:19.800
lived with them, but he was still trying to have

615
00:34:19.880 --> 00:34:23.480
revileged with them. And he former friends of his were saying,

616
00:34:23.519 --> 00:34:25.760
like he would talk about how much he liked like

617
00:34:26.519 --> 00:34:35.079
women and girls. Wow, discussing anyway, When journalists Bryan and

618
00:34:35.280 --> 00:34:39.840
Faktum released the information about the confession, they were worried

619
00:34:40.519 --> 00:34:45.199
because they had been subjects to harassments from Buka and

620
00:34:45.280 --> 00:34:51.280
his trolls before. But pat troll behavior, yeah, like a

621
00:34:51.320 --> 00:34:54.960
little troll farm or big troll farm. Yes, yeah, they

622
00:34:55.000 --> 00:34:57.440
were not new to this type of stuff because they

623
00:34:57.480 --> 00:35:03.239
had previously uncovered news out of the police unit that

624
00:35:03.480 --> 00:35:16.480
was acting as a death squad for the government dead squads. Yeah, no, yeah, anyway, yes,

625
00:35:16.880 --> 00:35:19.760
and so they were not new to harassment because they

626
00:35:20.280 --> 00:35:24.880
received a ton of harassment from then, even someone accusing

627
00:35:25.000 --> 00:35:28.119
Brian of having been a gang member himself. By that accusation,

628
00:35:28.360 --> 00:35:30.920
it's not a lie accusation as time period anymore, because

629
00:35:30.960 --> 00:35:34.360
that means you're arrested, right and then now you're not

630
00:35:34.440 --> 00:35:37.039
a title to do process like we mentioned before exactly,

631
00:35:37.440 --> 00:35:39.840
and it's just it's the same bullshit defense or argument

632
00:35:40.039 --> 00:35:42.559
by these Bookla trolls and Buketta.

633
00:35:42.599 --> 00:35:44.559
Every time any disagreement for.

634
00:35:44.800 --> 00:35:48.719
A wrong act by his by him and his administration

635
00:35:48.960 --> 00:35:52.760
or regime, I should say, it's always the same thing.

636
00:35:52.880 --> 00:35:56.159
Oh you're a gang member, Oh you love gang members? Yeah,

637
00:35:56.559 --> 00:35:58.800
like that's their go to because they know they're wrong

638
00:35:58.880 --> 00:36:03.480
and that's the only defense. Yeah. Truly, it was clear

639
00:36:03.639 --> 00:36:06.920
to the Factoom team that this was something the government

640
00:36:06.960 --> 00:36:09.880
didn't want out because most of these crimes took place

641
00:36:09.960 --> 00:36:12.039
after COVID when there was a strict stay at home

642
00:36:12.159 --> 00:36:14.440
curfew which if you did not listen to this curfew,

643
00:36:14.480 --> 00:36:17.559
you were arrested. Then you know, the state of exception,

644
00:36:17.760 --> 00:36:22.000
which obviously made police and military presidents even stronger in

645
00:36:22.360 --> 00:36:24.719
a bunch of towns. And so it was not a

646
00:36:24.760 --> 00:36:26.760
good look for them to say, well, look at this

647
00:36:26.840 --> 00:36:30.400
confession because these crimes are taking place, and the president's

648
00:36:30.519 --> 00:36:31.039
lyne about it.

649
00:36:31.840 --> 00:36:34.800
So but they released it. They went ahead and released it, and.

650
00:36:34.920 --> 00:36:37.079
That's when the government demanded that they needed to take

651
00:36:37.119 --> 00:36:39.320
it down, and they went after them legally, and they

652
00:36:39.400 --> 00:36:41.960
did have to take it down because disobeying it was

653
00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:45.079
a crime. But the news made it out in time

654
00:36:45.159 --> 00:36:48.519
for it to be like major news. But then Brian

655
00:36:48.840 --> 00:36:50.840
got a text that he was going to be arrested,

656
00:36:50.920 --> 00:36:52.800
that he needed to get out of a set of

657
00:36:52.800 --> 00:36:55.079
a little asap because there was like talks of him

658
00:36:55.079 --> 00:36:58.320
being arrested, and like normally he had been threatened before,

659
00:36:58.519 --> 00:37:00.679
so he wasn't like too worried, But then it became

660
00:37:00.800 --> 00:37:03.079
clear that he was, like legit going to be arrested

661
00:37:03.239 --> 00:37:06.880
and like subject to these who knows, because at that

662
00:37:06.960 --> 00:37:08.719
point he was being accused of being a gain.

663
00:37:08.760 --> 00:37:11.800
They're probably gonna set him to secle. Like, yeah, so

664
00:37:12.480 --> 00:37:14.800
was that that girl open already? I don't remember. Actually

665
00:37:15.719 --> 00:37:18.360
when did this motherfucker open? I think it was.

666
00:37:18.360 --> 00:37:18.800
I think it was.

667
00:37:19.440 --> 00:37:21.159
I think it was about to open. Because what year

668
00:37:21.280 --> 00:37:21.800
was this it was?

669
00:37:21.960 --> 00:37:24.840
You said twenty twenty one, right, yeah, well this was

670
00:37:24.840 --> 00:37:26.840
already twenty twenty two when he was driven out. It

671
00:37:26.960 --> 00:37:29.800
opened in January twenty twenty three. Okay, so it wasn't that,

672
00:37:30.039 --> 00:37:31.320
I was right, It was more recent.

673
00:37:31.880 --> 00:37:32.639
Yeah, my bad.

674
00:37:33.239 --> 00:37:38.920
Either way, very very dangerous time period to be arrested

675
00:37:38.960 --> 00:37:43.719
and detained. And so you know, Brian fled the country

676
00:37:43.760 --> 00:37:45.280
in the middle of the night. He got on like

677
00:37:45.320 --> 00:37:49.519
a last minute flight. He's now in Mexico. And yeah,

678
00:37:49.599 --> 00:37:52.239
the government is very quick to drive out journalists, just

679
00:37:52.320 --> 00:37:56.000
like they did to Brian and silence other journalists. And

680
00:37:56.199 --> 00:38:00.400
then the news of this mass grave sorry graves plural

681
00:38:01.079 --> 00:38:06.159
was silenced, sorry, not silence, but drowned out because then

682
00:38:06.599 --> 00:38:09.159
very quickly after that, bitcoin was announced as the official

683
00:38:09.199 --> 00:38:13.599
currency of the country. And you know, at the same

684
00:38:13.679 --> 00:38:16.719
time as this is happening, behind the scenes, the government

685
00:38:16.760 --> 00:38:19.400
is working hard to silence everyone else. Right, So Brian

686
00:38:19.559 --> 00:38:23.960
fled and some other to Mexico. Rena's mother, Daisy, also

687
00:38:24.039 --> 00:38:27.360
faced backlash for trying to find her daughter. The same

688
00:38:27.400 --> 00:38:29.960
thing has happened to others looking for their missing loved ones,

689
00:38:30.039 --> 00:38:33.880
because them searching for their loved ones contradicts the quote

690
00:38:33.960 --> 00:38:39.440
unquote safest country in Latin America, right right, So that's

691
00:38:39.519 --> 00:38:43.599
why they're going after it. There was another and again,

692
00:38:43.800 --> 00:38:46.519
anyone who hasn't listened to UMO needs to listen to UMO,

693
00:38:46.920 --> 00:38:49.239
especially if you're like on the verge of like do

694
00:38:49.360 --> 00:38:50.360
I believe this or not?

695
00:38:50.719 --> 00:38:51.440
Is this probably me?

696
00:38:51.559 --> 00:38:54.119
Me? Mean, you know, if you're like no, not really mean,

697
00:38:54.679 --> 00:38:57.639
if you're if you're like you don't know about this

698
00:38:58.519 --> 00:39:01.159
and you're finally seeing it now, that would be a

699
00:39:01.239 --> 00:39:03.800
great place to catch up on a lot of what

700
00:39:03.920 --> 00:39:07.800
has happened, because these eight episodes cover so much, including

701
00:39:08.280 --> 00:39:13.679
all of this really, but also another man who was

702
00:39:13.719 --> 00:39:16.760
searching for his son heard about chu Chuapa went to

703
00:39:16.840 --> 00:39:18.639
church Chwapa to try and find his son there too,

704
00:39:19.159 --> 00:39:20.079
and now he's missing.

705
00:39:20.559 --> 00:39:21.719
He's missing too, and.

706
00:39:21.800 --> 00:39:24.519
This is a toe as old as time, like we

707
00:39:24.679 --> 00:39:29.760
see the same thing in Mexico with people looking for

708
00:39:29.840 --> 00:39:35.239
their loved ones then they're murdered or looking for justice. Yes, yeah,

709
00:39:37.480 --> 00:39:40.519
And I think the point of me wanting to share

710
00:39:40.559 --> 00:39:44.239
this case not not to sensationalize this, not to say, oh,

711
00:39:44.280 --> 00:39:46.719
look at this house of whores and church Wapa, because

712
00:39:46.719 --> 00:39:49.599
that's what a lot of people are calling it. No,

713
00:39:49.800 --> 00:39:52.360
because I think the most important thing to make note

714
00:39:52.400 --> 00:39:56.599
of is that while Claims is no longer the murder

715
00:39:56.679 --> 00:39:59.679
capital of the country because him, because of him, and

716
00:39:59.719 --> 00:40:02.440
because of a state of exception, because of his Mano dura,

717
00:40:04.440 --> 00:40:09.960
it's safe now. You cannot report of murder if there

718
00:40:10.119 --> 00:40:15.119
is no body, So murder rates are down. They're not

719
00:40:15.239 --> 00:40:17.960
reporting the murders that are happening because there's no bodies

720
00:40:18.000 --> 00:40:21.519
for these supposed murders, and because of that, they're saying

721
00:40:21.880 --> 00:40:24.559
the country's safe because look, our murder rate has gone down.

722
00:40:25.199 --> 00:40:27.480
But I will repeat again that you cannot report a

723
00:40:27.599 --> 00:40:29.119
murder if there is no body.

724
00:40:29.719 --> 00:40:29.880
Right.

725
00:40:30.039 --> 00:40:33.880
People are being disappeared, yes, yes, and that is not

726
00:40:34.000 --> 00:40:39.920
a new practice. That is the handbook for dictatorships. Yeah,

727
00:40:40.880 --> 00:40:44.000
in the meantime, the number of missing people grows and grows.

728
00:40:44.360 --> 00:40:47.079
At least twenty two hundred families continue searching for their

729
00:40:47.199 --> 00:40:50.920
missing family members, and this is only counting recent disappearances.

730
00:40:51.559 --> 00:40:55.159
But again, the practice of disappearing people was common during

731
00:40:55.199 --> 00:40:58.960
the civil war. And before anyone comes at me about

732
00:40:59.000 --> 00:41:01.840
how both sides during the civil war, I will repeat

733
00:41:01.880 --> 00:41:08.000
again that the UN found that of the human rights

734
00:41:08.119 --> 00:41:11.480
violations committed during the seventh Doran Civil War, ninety percent

735
00:41:11.559 --> 00:41:14.159
of those human rights violations were caused by the right

736
00:41:14.239 --> 00:41:18.599
wing government and their death death squads. And then you know,

737
00:41:18.719 --> 00:41:20.239
people are still going to come to me tell me

738
00:41:20.400 --> 00:41:23.280
that those numbers are they were faked, They were lines.

739
00:41:23.400 --> 00:41:26.239
But again the UN is a non I mean like,

740
00:41:26.280 --> 00:41:26.760
the UN.

741
00:41:26.639 --> 00:41:31.280
Has problems to right, but they were not in one

742
00:41:31.360 --> 00:41:32.000
side or the other.

743
00:41:32.519 --> 00:41:37.320
If any control investigating party, if anything, fighting party, yeah,

744
00:41:37.320 --> 00:41:38.639
if anything, and they would have been on the side

745
00:41:38.639 --> 00:41:41.960
of the US, which would have tried to minimize the

746
00:41:42.039 --> 00:41:44.119
crimes of the right wing because they were were being

747
00:41:44.199 --> 00:41:47.079
funded by the United States and yes, trained exiety states. Yeah,

748
00:41:47.159 --> 00:41:48.960
so it doesn't even make sense to make that argument,

749
00:41:49.039 --> 00:41:51.400
But I say that because people have said it to

750
00:41:51.519 --> 00:41:52.800
me when I shared it.

751
00:41:53.000 --> 00:41:57.559
All there are facts, okay, And just because you.

752
00:41:57.599 --> 00:42:00.960
Don't see the truth and you're going to be all

753
00:42:01.039 --> 00:42:08.039
emotional about your favorite dictator, that doesn't mean that these

754
00:42:08.239 --> 00:42:11.559
truths are not true. And yeah, go cry about it,

755
00:42:11.840 --> 00:42:15.239
you know. Yeah, because I'm not crying. There's accused me

756
00:42:15.360 --> 00:42:18.280
of crying and being emotional when I'm just sharing information.

757
00:42:19.280 --> 00:42:21.039
Facts are vaxxed and I'm sorry.

758
00:42:21.360 --> 00:42:23.519
This goes also to the people that refuse to see

759
00:42:23.519 --> 00:42:26.360
the truth about the United States government that trum and

760
00:42:26.440 --> 00:42:28.920
blah blah blah. Yeah, and these are the people that

761
00:42:29.000 --> 00:42:31.239
are like, oh, facts, There are feelings like no, you're

762
00:42:31.280 --> 00:42:32.679
the one that doesn't want to see facts.

763
00:42:32.800 --> 00:42:33.760
You're the one on your.

764
00:42:33.719 --> 00:42:36.039
Faily one leaving twenty two comments in the span of

765
00:42:36.079 --> 00:42:40.639
five minutes right one of my videos stump okay. According

766
00:42:40.719 --> 00:42:46.159
to the Salvadoran NGO, crystosan a great resource of information.

767
00:42:46.760 --> 00:42:49.639
There have been four hundred deaths reported in as all

768
00:42:49.639 --> 00:42:52.079
those prisons, but the true number of deaths is closer

769
00:42:52.119 --> 00:42:56.159
to one thousand. To this day, nothing else has been

770
00:42:56.199 --> 00:42:59.239
said about the numbers, about the number of victims or

771
00:42:59.280 --> 00:43:03.280
who they were in the pits in Chaichwapa. One has

772
00:43:03.360 --> 00:43:07.239
to question why was there an insistence to bury and

773
00:43:07.400 --> 00:43:12.199
silence anyone researching this sharing the information on this case.

774
00:43:12.880 --> 00:43:15.119
And I will repeat, you can say the murder rate

775
00:43:15.159 --> 00:43:17.679
has gone down if there's no murder to prove because

776
00:43:17.719 --> 00:43:27.199
there is no body right, So yes, that was the case.

777
00:43:28.239 --> 00:43:31.280
I wanted to talk specifically about this case today because

778
00:43:32.039 --> 00:43:34.760
has recently been in the news with the meaning between

779
00:43:34.760 --> 00:43:37.119
Trump and Buckle that took place at the time of

780
00:43:37.199 --> 00:43:41.400
recording yesterday for fourteen five. But this comes out Friday,

781
00:43:41.480 --> 00:43:43.679
so that Monday. And I know people don't want to

782
00:43:44.519 --> 00:43:47.119
hear about politics and their favorite podcast, but I don't

783
00:43:47.119 --> 00:43:50.679
give a book because this is affecting everyone. Everything is

784
00:43:50.719 --> 00:43:55.639
political also, yeah, and we like this true crime case

785
00:43:56.119 --> 00:44:02.679
is literally political. Yeah, and it's all connected. But this

786
00:44:03.000 --> 00:44:06.480
is very recent news. Suddenly people want to talk about

787
00:44:06.599 --> 00:44:12.000
Salvador but not understand or care to know what was

788
00:44:12.039 --> 00:44:20.000
happening in n Salvador before this press conference, before they

789
00:44:20.039 --> 00:44:23.079
were being all these deporties were being sent to En Salorda.

790
00:44:23.079 --> 00:44:27.000
And that's not to say that's like, I'm not minimizing

791
00:44:27.039 --> 00:44:29.039
that that's fucking horrible, right, No one is saying it's

792
00:44:29.079 --> 00:44:32.000
not horrible, But I just want to emphasize that the

793
00:44:32.079 --> 00:44:34.840
people of En Salvador, like, you know, he keeps touting

794
00:44:34.880 --> 00:44:37.960
this ninety percent approval rate, but people are ignoring that

795
00:44:38.039 --> 00:44:43.039
he controls the media, right, Yeah, right, of course you

796
00:44:43.119 --> 00:44:47.480
have a higher approval rate when you gel your dissidents,

797
00:44:47.920 --> 00:44:51.000
when you shut down and silence your opponents. Yeah, you're

798
00:44:51.000 --> 00:44:54.760
gonna have a high approval rate when you're literally ousting

799
00:44:54.800 --> 00:44:56.960
people from your country or putting them in gel and

800
00:44:57.000 --> 00:45:00.400
you can't make them yeaef. And we have cover mass

801
00:45:00.440 --> 00:45:03.440
protests against Bugle. The people who been sanlon have been

802
00:45:03.880 --> 00:45:09.480
subject to these things despite this repression. Yes, like like

803
00:45:09.920 --> 00:45:14.440
protests in numbers of like twenty thousand, right, and so yes,

804
00:45:14.599 --> 00:45:18.159
I mean a lot of Salvadorian and Salvadoran Americans have

805
00:45:18.320 --> 00:45:22.480
sided with Bucele knowing about the human rights violations, literally

806
00:45:22.599 --> 00:45:26.559
not caring. But there is a huge number of people

807
00:45:26.800 --> 00:45:30.239
that had always been protesting him, especially in the regions

808
00:45:30.400 --> 00:45:32.599
like Santa Marta, like.

809
00:45:34.679 --> 00:45:39.320
Elmosote. So I don't I don't know where I've even

810
00:45:39.400 --> 00:45:39.800
going with this.

811
00:45:39.960 --> 00:45:43.440
I just I just wanted to say that, like, because

812
00:45:43.480 --> 00:45:48.199
suddenly there's all these people saying, like, I don't know,

813
00:45:48.559 --> 00:45:51.639
I guess talking shit, And like some of us have

814
00:45:51.800 --> 00:45:56.400
been calling this from day one, right right, and we're

815
00:45:56.920 --> 00:45:59.079
you know, faced with such backlash. I mean, we were

816
00:45:59.119 --> 00:46:01.599
bombarded with one star reviews for a long ass time

817
00:46:01.679 --> 00:46:06.639
because we did like three or four episodes about the man. Yeah,

818
00:46:08.840 --> 00:46:12.880
but yeah, and like, I mean, the Trump administration is

819
00:46:12.960 --> 00:46:17.000
sending these departees like like it's not it's not all

820
00:46:17.039 --> 00:46:20.199
of a sudden, just like it's literally Trump sending them

821
00:46:20.239 --> 00:46:23.079
there and wanting to do this. And he gets to

822
00:46:23.159 --> 00:46:27.599
do this with like no, with no consequences because oh

823
00:46:27.719 --> 00:46:30.000
it's out of my hands because now he has this pawn,

824
00:46:31.239 --> 00:46:32.719
right you know.

825
00:46:33.360 --> 00:46:36.679
And A and so again this is like in the

826
00:46:36.760 --> 00:46:37.880
news because.

827
00:46:39.039 --> 00:46:42.320
Trump paramedic ignored in order to bring back a plane

828
00:46:42.760 --> 00:46:46.599
of departees of Venezuelan departees. But then also there's the

829
00:46:47.079 --> 00:46:49.440
case that's making the most headlines and he's not the

830
00:46:49.519 --> 00:46:53.679
only one, but Ki Abrego Garcia. He is a twenty

831
00:46:53.760 --> 00:46:55.840
nine year old migrant from the inn Saradod. He's been

832
00:46:55.880 --> 00:46:59.320
living in the US for fourteen years. He's married to

833
00:46:59.480 --> 00:47:03.000
a US sin he has three children with disabilities. He's,

834
00:47:03.320 --> 00:47:07.039
you know, a hard working construction worker. He has never

835
00:47:07.159 --> 00:47:10.719
been involved in a gang. He was shielded from a

836
00:47:10.800 --> 00:47:14.519
deportation in twenty nineteen because he would face persecution from

837
00:47:14.519 --> 00:47:17.719
the gangs if he had returned, and so he That

838
00:47:17.880 --> 00:47:21.440
means his deportation was legally stopped and he was given

839
00:47:21.480 --> 00:47:24.800
a federal permit to work in the US. Despite this permit,

840
00:47:24.920 --> 00:47:28.519
the Trump administration deported him. Then they said it was

841
00:47:28.519 --> 00:47:31.599
an administrative error. Then they doubled back on that and

842
00:47:31.920 --> 00:47:35.119
insisted Ki mad was a member of MS thirteen in

843
00:47:35.320 --> 00:47:39.280
Long Island, a place he'd never been to, never lived in. Lies,

844
00:47:39.480 --> 00:47:42.679
just straight up lies by these people. Yeah, and Ki

845
00:47:42.840 --> 00:47:45.360
Matt has never been charged with the crime. He had

846
00:47:45.480 --> 00:47:48.400
legal status in the US to be here. Despite this,

847
00:47:48.639 --> 00:47:51.719
both Bugle and Trump multiple times during the press conference

848
00:47:51.960 --> 00:47:53.360
said he was a terrorist.

849
00:47:54.679 --> 00:47:54.960
Lied.

850
00:47:55.119 --> 00:48:00.119
But they could just make up any any definition to

851
00:48:00.199 --> 00:48:02.079
find anybody as a terrorist or a criminal.

852
00:48:02.760 --> 00:48:04.800
Yeah, yeah, and then ship them off.

853
00:48:05.199 --> 00:48:08.159
And also even if someone has committed a crime, they

854
00:48:08.199 --> 00:48:10.920
should not be shipped out of the United States to

855
00:48:11.119 --> 00:48:14.880
a foreign prison like that should not be happening either,

856
00:48:15.400 --> 00:48:20.559
even if someone has committed a crime. Yeah, and yeah,

857
00:48:20.760 --> 00:48:23.079
I just that's why I wanted to cover this case

858
00:48:23.679 --> 00:48:28.480
because of the recent news. And you know, suddenly there's

859
00:48:28.559 --> 00:48:30.840
some people that are like, oh, Bukat is making us

860
00:48:30.880 --> 00:48:32.480
look bad because he's doing this for Trump.

861
00:48:32.519 --> 00:48:34.199
But it's like, first of all, Bukut has always made

862
00:48:34.199 --> 00:48:37.559
you look bad. You've just now seen it.

863
00:48:38.199 --> 00:48:41.920
Yeah, now that it's affecting people from the United States exactly.

864
00:48:43.559 --> 00:48:45.480
So yeah, I mean, do you have any any more

865
00:48:45.599 --> 00:48:46.599
thoughts to share about this?

866
00:48:47.519 --> 00:48:49.880
No? I think that we have kind of said I

867
00:48:49.920 --> 00:48:55.360
guess the most important things already, So I guess not. No,

868
00:48:56.119 --> 00:48:58.239
Actually I have one more thing to add. Oh, sorry

869
00:48:58.320 --> 00:48:59.079
to keep you longer.

870
00:48:59.519 --> 00:48:59.960
No, it's fine.

871
00:49:00.800 --> 00:49:02.920
So I didn't know where this was coming from, but

872
00:49:03.000 --> 00:49:06.440
I had been seeing it all over threads, people saying, oh,

873
00:49:06.880 --> 00:49:10.519
let's hold in san At accountable, boycott these companies, and

874
00:49:10.599 --> 00:49:12.400
then it was just a bunch of like sweatshops in

875
00:49:13.679 --> 00:49:19.400
and Carmen told me, apparently it's come from the fifty

876
00:49:19.880 --> 00:49:21.960
I'm not sure if it comes from there or it

877
00:49:22.119 --> 00:49:24.840
was just shared there. You know, Okay, I don't know

878
00:49:25.280 --> 00:49:28.079
where this call is coming from, but I just I

879
00:49:28.199 --> 00:49:30.400
just want to add that for years now, there's been

880
00:49:30.440 --> 00:49:35.039
activists in the ground standing up to bu stating what

881
00:49:35.159 --> 00:49:40.760
they want Salvadoran diaspora to do. Right, actions call to

882
00:49:40.840 --> 00:49:45.039
actions from them from activists on the ground, and suddenly

883
00:49:45.119 --> 00:49:48.360
people want to boycott, you know, sweatshops. That doesn't care

884
00:49:48.360 --> 00:49:51.400
about This isn't going to affect him. I mean, maybe

885
00:49:51.440 --> 00:49:51.719
it will.

886
00:49:51.800 --> 00:49:52.119
I don't know.

887
00:49:52.199 --> 00:49:54.000
It's going to affect the people of a Salvador that

888
00:49:54.039 --> 00:49:56.480
he clearly doesn't care about because he's been arrested, never

889
00:49:56.599 --> 00:49:59.519
cared about, right, Yeah, all he guess about is his money,

890
00:49:59.719 --> 00:50:04.199
which doesn't receive from these places. Yeah, you know, but

891
00:50:05.239 --> 00:50:09.599
you know, if you want to get information from Salvadorians

892
00:50:09.599 --> 00:50:16.840
about signing up to follow c space also will put

893
00:50:16.880 --> 00:50:21.920
his sub sack in the show notes and other source.

894
00:50:23.159 --> 00:50:28.079
But there's many, there's many. Is another one I will

895
00:50:28.119 --> 00:50:30.880
put hers. She just had a really good episode about

896
00:50:30.920 --> 00:50:31.519
what is happening?

897
00:50:32.440 --> 00:50:34.960
That is the title of it. It was a live

898
00:50:35.039 --> 00:50:35.719
event with.

899
00:50:36.320 --> 00:50:40.159
Uh I think I don't remember at university but but

900
00:50:40.480 --> 00:50:43.280
point of all that is to say, we here in

901
00:50:43.360 --> 00:50:45.639
the United States need to worry about the fucking United

902
00:50:45.679 --> 00:50:47.440
States and we need to do things.

903
00:50:47.280 --> 00:50:51.719
Here like we are also in a fascist government. Worry

904
00:50:51.800 --> 00:50:52.199
about that.

905
00:50:53.159 --> 00:50:57.280
Fight Trump. The best way you can fight to fight Trump?

906
00:50:59.519 --> 00:51:03.760
This money who made this deal with to send? Yes exactly?

907
00:51:04.320 --> 00:51:07.480
Yeah, yeah.

908
00:51:07.559 --> 00:51:11.639
Because then also people have been saying also like boycott

909
00:51:11.639 --> 00:51:16.480
your local boo. Yeah, listen, my local has a calendar

910
00:51:16.519 --> 00:51:18.360
of boo. I don't go there anymore. But that was

911
00:51:18.440 --> 00:51:22.519
like as three years ago that I saw amp scare

912
00:51:22.639 --> 00:51:23.360
when I entered.

913
00:51:23.840 --> 00:51:26.400
So finally I don't get because it's looking rough.

914
00:51:26.480 --> 00:51:31.559
Also, let me have Carmen's uh TikTok had me dying. Yeah,

915
00:51:31.840 --> 00:51:34.559
and the three comments I have, they're going to my.

916
00:51:34.599 --> 00:51:37.800
Head, they are Yeah, they didn't fight in her head.

917
00:51:37.840 --> 00:51:41.800
It's almost like you can't shut it down. So hey,

918
00:51:41.840 --> 00:51:45.239
comments come at me, just kid, No, no, please don't.

919
00:51:47.360 --> 00:51:49.519
But yeah, I mean I agree one hundred percent with

920
00:51:49.559 --> 00:51:52.960
everything you're saying. There have been Subdorian voices against Bukele

921
00:51:53.639 --> 00:51:58.079
since bole ascended into fashion. Roum. I was gonna say descended,

922
00:51:58.159 --> 00:52:02.800
but no, no, he he rose to power. And as

923
00:52:03.119 --> 00:52:05.960
with any cause in any issue. We should be listening

924
00:52:06.480 --> 00:52:10.119
to the voices of those that are affected, right, Like

925
00:52:10.599 --> 00:52:13.679
we don't listen to people that are not from Palestine.

926
00:52:13.880 --> 00:52:15.400
Well, I mean, okay, like now we do, well, you

927
00:52:15.440 --> 00:52:16.079
know what I mean, Like.

928
00:52:16.800 --> 00:52:20.880
Like BDS came from Palestinian activity rights, right exactly. It

929
00:52:20.960 --> 00:52:24.519
wasn't a random white person from Boston, you know, saying

930
00:52:24.599 --> 00:52:26.519
let's do this and this and this, Like no, yeah,

931
00:52:26.599 --> 00:52:29.800
what do they know? Right, Let's take our lead from

932
00:52:30.360 --> 00:52:34.079
people who are affected and the people who have you know,

933
00:52:34.159 --> 00:52:34.679
first had.

934
00:52:34.639 --> 00:52:36.119
Knowledge about this. Yeah.

935
00:52:36.599 --> 00:52:38.440
And you know people are gonna say, well, people are

936
00:52:38.440 --> 00:52:42.000
being deported from here. Yeah, but they're they're being deported

937
00:52:42.039 --> 00:52:47.000
by Trump. Yeah, they're being forcibly disappeared by Trump. Yeah right,

938
00:52:47.039 --> 00:52:50.679
because to say deported, there's a legal process to deportations.

939
00:52:50.679 --> 00:52:52.760
That it's not interpretations. Yeah right.

940
00:52:54.039 --> 00:52:55.679
And it's not to say that you shouldn't care about

941
00:52:55.679 --> 00:52:58.039
what's happening in other places, Yes you should, but you

942
00:52:58.079 --> 00:53:00.880
shouldn't put your own bias in your own You should

943
00:53:00.880 --> 00:53:04.320
be taking word from the activists there about the issues

944
00:53:04.400 --> 00:53:07.599
there and taking the lead from them. And and like

945
00:53:07.719 --> 00:53:11.480
we have been saying, there are and have been soldarin

946
00:53:11.519 --> 00:53:15.079
speaking out against bull forever, right, And I've also seen

947
00:53:15.119 --> 00:53:15.840
people saying.

948
00:53:15.679 --> 00:53:17.800
Oh, I have not seen one telf don't mean talking

949
00:53:17.800 --> 00:53:18.159
about this.

950
00:53:18.360 --> 00:53:21.519
Well, you're not looking at the right place. Okay, look harder,

951
00:53:21.840 --> 00:53:24.280
thank you, thank you. And that's not to say there's

952
00:53:24.320 --> 00:53:26.559
not work to do, because there's still a ton of course,

953
00:53:26.800 --> 00:53:31.960
of course, pro too many, too many. But you know,

954
00:53:32.440 --> 00:53:36.039
people love Pinochet. People still defend him today, and it's like,

955
00:53:36.119 --> 00:53:39.079
what the fuck that was another? Like, please anyway, I

956
00:53:39.199 --> 00:53:42.360
want to get too off to on my ranting note,

957
00:53:42.960 --> 00:53:46.199
right right right to end on a fund your note,

958
00:53:46.880 --> 00:53:52.119
like I was sayings, get real rough his makeup orange

959
00:53:54.320 --> 00:53:59.639
Trump so died. Yeah, yeah, he's following. He's taking makeup

960
00:53:59.679 --> 00:54:03.280
tips from Trump. Yeah, it's clear. It's clear, it is.

961
00:54:04.719 --> 00:54:06.920
I do think his head looks bigger. I don't know

962
00:54:06.960 --> 00:54:11.400
what's going on. It looks he looked like a bobblehead

963
00:54:12.039 --> 00:54:19.239
in that press conference. And I do think that it's

964
00:54:19.760 --> 00:54:24.639
the physical manifestation of the concentration of power.

965
00:54:26.079 --> 00:54:31.360
It's gone to his head. It has Oh my god,

966
00:54:32.239 --> 00:54:33.239
don't maybe laughed too much.

967
00:54:33.639 --> 00:54:36.960
Yeah, okay, okay, that's it's yeah, Yeah, I think that's

968
00:54:37.119 --> 00:54:39.599
it for us. I have a feeling we might get

969
00:54:39.679 --> 00:54:42.119
a little hate for these stances, and I mean, like,

970
00:54:42.159 --> 00:54:42.679
what can you do?

971
00:54:42.960 --> 00:54:43.320
I don't know.

972
00:54:43.360 --> 00:54:45.639
I've been calling my reps and they have been hanging

973
00:54:45.719 --> 00:54:50.719
up on me. They have been answering, that's saying lame excuse,

974
00:54:50.760 --> 00:54:52.880
out their excuse. But I'm gonna keep bothering them when

975
00:54:52.920 --> 00:54:55.039
I have free time, and that's what I've been doing.

976
00:54:55.360 --> 00:54:58.639
My the congress person is holding a towel meeting Thursday.

977
00:54:58.800 --> 00:55:01.920
I'm gonna go yell at her. It's fine, Like, you know,

978
00:55:02.159 --> 00:55:04.599
those are the little things we can do, and just

979
00:55:04.679 --> 00:55:07.559
look out for bigger actions here that you can do.

980
00:55:08.000 --> 00:55:10.800
But I don't know about these random boycotts being called

981
00:55:10.840 --> 00:55:13.639
by random people that we don't know who are behind them.

982
00:55:13.719 --> 00:55:15.719
But becauds are effective when there.

983
00:55:15.920 --> 00:55:22.719
Is they're organized and there's like a purpose. Yeah yeah,

984
00:55:23.440 --> 00:55:27.920
so yeah, just I don't know. Let's say, strong Salis

985
00:55:27.920 --> 00:55:29.679
who've always been calling out.

986
00:55:33.719 --> 00:55:37.239
We can do it. Oh man. Yeah. Do we want

987
00:55:37.280 --> 00:55:46.800
to talk about some bigger recommendations. Well, I guess.

988
00:55:48.559 --> 00:55:52.079
Some things that I've read that are in line with

989
00:55:52.360 --> 00:55:55.840
these kind of topics fascism, fighting fascism, you know that

990
00:55:55.960 --> 00:56:00.360
kind of stuff. I guess we've talked about defectors and

991
00:56:00.559 --> 00:56:04.119
we're gonna do a book club discussion over at the

992
00:56:04.199 --> 00:56:07.679
study as a known about it. That channel is on

993
00:56:07.920 --> 00:56:10.559
our normal discord though, so if you read the book

994
00:56:10.599 --> 00:56:12.079
and you want to talk about it, it is on

995
00:56:12.159 --> 00:56:16.280
our discord. And I think that reading defectors it'll give

996
00:56:16.320 --> 00:56:20.840
you an understanding about why people like b are pop

997
00:56:21.440 --> 00:56:26.639
so popular. Yeah, it really it's a must read. Yes, yeah,

998
00:56:26.880 --> 00:56:29.760
so I guess that would be one recommendation. I also

999
00:56:29.880 --> 00:56:32.280
just recently read damn It.

1000
00:56:32.360 --> 00:56:33.360
What the hell was it called? It was?

1001
00:56:33.440 --> 00:56:36.159
It's by Mariasa. I literally just talked about it. Oh,

1002
00:56:36.360 --> 00:56:38.559
the had to stand Up to a Dictator. Oh that's

1003
00:56:38.599 --> 00:56:40.880
what it's called. Yes, I want to say, yeah, that's

1004
00:56:40.920 --> 00:56:43.039
what it's called. Yeah, how to stand Up to a

1005
00:56:43.119 --> 00:56:46.960
Dictator by Maria Essa. She is a journalist from the

1006
00:56:47.000 --> 00:56:49.639
Philippines who was arrested, like I want to say, two

1007
00:56:49.679 --> 00:56:55.400
to three times by another fashion dictator who is being

1008
00:56:55.440 --> 00:56:59.400
held accountable by his human crimes against humanity. And I

1009
00:56:59.519 --> 00:57:03.320
just hope day to see up there with him. And

1010
00:57:03.559 --> 00:57:09.519
then I also did just read King Leopold's Ghost and

1011
00:57:09.719 --> 00:57:13.239
that is about a little bit more in the past.

1012
00:57:13.400 --> 00:57:19.239
It's about King Leopold who basically terrorizes the congo for

1013
00:57:20.880 --> 00:57:23.360
profit for money. You know how these things go, and

1014
00:57:23.559 --> 00:57:26.920
it talks about a lot of it is pertinent to

1015
00:57:27.000 --> 00:57:30.840
today too, so I would recommend that as well. And

1016
00:57:30.880 --> 00:57:33.039
I'm sure there's a bunch of others that I can't

1017
00:57:33.079 --> 00:57:35.079
think of right now. Yeah, just a few books.

1018
00:57:35.360 --> 00:57:35.559
Good?

1019
00:57:35.679 --> 00:57:35.880
Good?

1020
00:57:40.920 --> 00:57:42.440
What about you? Do you have anything to recommend?

1021
00:57:43.119 --> 00:57:43.159
No?

1022
00:57:43.400 --> 00:57:47.400
No, I've been watching er and finding people on social media.

1023
00:57:50.159 --> 00:57:53.239
Oh my god. Yeah, I need to stop. Well, I

1024
00:57:53.800 --> 00:57:54.119
don't know.

1025
00:57:54.920 --> 00:57:58.679
On that note, tomorrow or next week's episode will hopefully

1026
00:57:58.760 --> 00:58:01.239
be a lighter one and a shout out to our

1027

1031
00:58:13.559 --> 00:58:17.239
busy fighting people on social media and I don't know.

00:58:17.559 --> 00:58:20.159
