If you call to the witches, they will come. In 1943, El Paso, Texas, teenager Nena spends her days caring for the small children of her older sisters and longing for a life of adventure. The premonitions and fainting spells she has endured since childhood are getting worse, and Nena worries she’ll end up like the scary old curandera down the street. Nena prays for help, and when the mysterious Sister Benedicta arrives late one night, Nena follows her across the borders of space and time. In the present day, Nena’s grandniece, Marta, balances a struggling legal aid practice with motherhood and the care of the now ninety-three-year-old Nena. When Marta agrees to help search for a daughter Nena left in the past, the two forge a fierce connection. Marta’s own supernatural powers emerge.

In this book club episode, Carmen and Cristina recap the book, then answer discussion questions and rate the book.

00:00:05.440 --> 00:00:08.400
Hi, this is Christina and Carmen, and this is another

2
00:00:08.480 --> 00:00:11.880
episode of a booky Tales, but not a normal episode today. No,

3
00:00:12.240 --> 00:00:16.280
it's finally book Club Club episode book Club book Club,

4
00:00:16.480 --> 00:00:20.600
book Club book Club op. It's outside down, that's how

5
00:00:22.760 --> 00:00:26.160
can you read? And you did not read? Yes, we

6
00:00:26.239 --> 00:00:32.159
finally made it. We survived. This was besides the U

7
00:00:32.200 --> 00:00:34.439
S taine forever with the book. I have had a day.

8
00:00:34.600 --> 00:00:37.280
It's yeah, a mess. I don't want to talk about it, virtue.

9
00:00:37.439 --> 00:00:39.439
I'll just say that I do want to talk about it. No,

10
00:00:39.520 --> 00:00:44.039
I don't, all right anyway. Also, we took very long

11
00:00:44.119 --> 00:00:48.200
reading this one. Well, I don't think we took that

12
00:00:48.320 --> 00:00:51.960
long actually reading it, but doing the notes on it

13
00:00:52.399 --> 00:00:55.560
that took long. That took long. I just kept forgetting

14
00:00:55.759 --> 00:00:58.920
and then I basically had to like skim the entire

15
00:00:58.960 --> 00:01:01.600
book again and the past three or four days because

16
00:01:01.600 --> 00:01:03.719
I couldn't remember anything, And I was like, why the

17
00:01:03.719 --> 00:01:06.000
fuck didn't I just write these right away when I

18
00:01:06.040 --> 00:01:10.319
finished it. I honestly I think that I should recap

19
00:01:10.400 --> 00:01:13.439
it because I finish it sooner usually, But the thing

20
00:01:13.519 --> 00:01:16.159
is writing the recap No, I know, yeah, yeah, but

21
00:01:16.200 --> 00:01:17.319
that's what I mean, Like if I just do it

22
00:01:17.400 --> 00:01:20.200
right when I finish it. Yeah, that's true, when you

23
00:01:20.280 --> 00:01:23.239
finish it. Also, on the plus side of this horrible

24
00:01:23.319 --> 00:01:26.040
day that has been for me today, our curls are

25
00:01:26.079 --> 00:01:28.680
curling today. Oh yeah, your curls look so you'll see

26
00:01:28.680 --> 00:01:33.760
the picture we said, but episodes. Yes, Oh, I was

27
00:01:33.799 --> 00:01:36.120
going to introduce the book, but I guess you're doing it. Huh. Yeah,

28
00:01:36.159 --> 00:01:40.640
And we did read the Witches of Elpaso. This is

29
00:01:40.680 --> 00:01:45.000
our first book club book of the year. Wow. Yeah.

30
00:01:45.239 --> 00:01:51.000
We announced it December, no before. Oh my god. Yeah,

31
00:01:51.040 --> 00:01:57.879
well here we are a few months later. Yes, we

32
00:01:58.079 --> 00:02:01.359
are talking about the Witches of elpas by Luis Caramillo.

33
00:02:01.719 --> 00:02:04.120
And I will say I love the cover. It's giving

34
00:02:04.159 --> 00:02:08.919
beautiful gowns. Beautiful gowns, right, yes, not sheety, because you

35
00:02:08.960 --> 00:02:11.000
know that was what Who was it that said that

36
00:02:11.000 --> 00:02:14.280
about Taylor Swift? Oh, I don't know. I'm got a

37
00:02:14.319 --> 00:02:17.000
loop on this. You don't get the reference. No, well,

38
00:02:17.039 --> 00:02:19.520
I feel like I have to tell you, okay, Arita

39
00:02:19.560 --> 00:02:22.840
Aretha Franklin said it? What did she say? New album

40
00:02:22.879 --> 00:02:24.520
is about divas. I want to throw out a few

41
00:02:24.560 --> 00:02:26.800
names of davas instead of get your one word reactions,

42
00:02:26.840 --> 00:02:29.919
to get your impression of various singers. So when I

43
00:02:29.960 --> 00:02:32.000
say that the name of Deele, will comes to mind

44
00:02:32.879 --> 00:02:39.360
the singer good singer, Alicia Keys Young performer, good writer,

45
00:02:39.800 --> 00:02:48.319
producer Taylor Swift. Okay, great, great gownsfuls Uh Whitney Houston.

46
00:02:49.319 --> 00:02:55.080
Whitney was a talent. Beautiful, beautiful gowns. I see. I

47
00:02:55.240 --> 00:02:59.639
know about this cover, beautiful cover, beautiful cover, beautiful gown. Yes,

48
00:03:00.039 --> 00:03:03.639
average inside, but we'll get to that later, we will. Yeah,

49
00:03:03.719 --> 00:03:07.319
do you want to read the synopsis? Okay, so synopsis.

50
00:03:07.599 --> 00:03:10.159
If you call to the witches, they will come. Nineteen

51
00:03:10.199 --> 00:03:14.319
forty three, El Paso, Texas, teenager Nana spent her days

52
00:03:14.319 --> 00:03:17.240
caring for the small Turgan children of her older sisters

53
00:03:17.319 --> 00:03:20.080
and logging for a life of adventure. The premonitions and

54
00:03:20.120 --> 00:03:23.120
fainting spells she has endured since childhood are getting worse,

55
00:03:23.479 --> 00:03:26.080
and Nana worries she'll end up like the scary old

56
00:03:26.159 --> 00:03:29.000
Kurandera down the street. Nana prays for help, and when

57
00:03:29.039 --> 00:03:32.919
the mysterious sister Benedicta arrives late one night, Nana followed

58
00:03:32.919 --> 00:03:37.159
her across the borders of space and time. In colonial Mexico,

59
00:03:37.319 --> 00:03:40.479
Nna grows into her power, finding love and learning that

60
00:03:40.599 --> 00:03:43.199
magic always comes with the price. In the present day,

61
00:03:43.400 --> 00:03:47.479
Nana's grand niece Marta balances a struggling legal aid practice

62
00:03:47.520 --> 00:03:50.560
with motherhood and the care of the now ninety three

63
00:03:50.639 --> 00:03:53.520
year old Nena. When Martha agrees to help search for

64
00:03:53.680 --> 00:03:55.919
a daughter Nana left in the past, the two four

65
00:03:56.000 --> 00:04:00.599
j fierce connection Martha's own supernatural powers emerge, nan her

66
00:04:00.680 --> 00:04:02.960
to the new possibilities that they're in the life she

67
00:04:03.080 --> 00:04:06.400
has constructed. Yes, and I forgot to say at the top,

68
00:04:06.520 --> 00:04:09.199
but in our book Club episodes, the way they work

69
00:04:09.360 --> 00:04:12.240
is that first we do first we announce it's a

70
00:04:12.240 --> 00:04:16.120
book Club episode again book Club. Yeah, we say book Club,

71
00:04:16.120 --> 00:04:20.040
booklub a few times. Then Carmen reads a synopsis that's

72
00:04:20.079 --> 00:04:22.480
actually from the back of the book, usually so that

73
00:04:22.560 --> 00:04:25.319
it's spoiler free, and that's it. That's our only spoiler

74
00:04:25.360 --> 00:04:29.240
free section after this spoiler's galore, because it's an entire

75
00:04:29.319 --> 00:04:33.360
recap of the whole book. At the end of the recap,

76
00:04:33.600 --> 00:04:36.240
we do discussion questions. I, for one, love a recap

77
00:04:36.279 --> 00:04:38.800
even if I haven't read the book. I also love

78
00:04:38.839 --> 00:04:41.839
bother recap because I'll listen to it and I'll be like,

79
00:04:41.879 --> 00:04:44.639
do I want to read this exactly? I love it

80
00:04:44.680 --> 00:04:47.639
too when I have read the book, no matter how

81
00:04:47.680 --> 00:04:50.560
long ago, because I'll usually remember some parts of it,

82
00:04:50.879 --> 00:04:52.519
and so I love a recap to hear what other

83
00:04:52.720 --> 00:04:55.519
people think. In fact, you know what, I'll have some

84
00:04:56.120 --> 00:05:00.040
instead of stupooky recommendations, some book recommendations or something. I

85
00:05:00.040 --> 00:05:01.319
don't know you would call it. At the end of

86
00:05:01.319 --> 00:05:04.040
the episode, I just discovered a new book club podcast.

87
00:05:04.079 --> 00:05:07.079
What's my point of that? What book club podcast? It's

88
00:05:07.120 --> 00:05:10.680
called mean book Club, Mean book Club. I need to

89
00:05:10.680 --> 00:05:15.279
look at being mean. We know, we know, we know

90
00:05:15.480 --> 00:05:18.839
not And I said that raising my hand because I

91
00:05:18.879 --> 00:05:22.560
have been personally victimized by Carmen. I've been personally victimized

92
00:05:22.600 --> 00:05:26.519
by me too, So yeah, look at us. I've been

93
00:05:26.519 --> 00:05:29.480
personallyed by you two. Don't act like you're not mean. No,

94
00:05:29.800 --> 00:05:33.399
you're right, you're right, you're right. Yeah, that's right. Okay.

95
00:05:33.439 --> 00:05:36.680
So now from here we're doing the recap. We're going

96
00:05:36.720 --> 00:05:39.560
through the book. I am skipping parts. Obviously it's not

97
00:05:39.639 --> 00:05:41.680
like a word for word that'd be crazy. But with

98
00:05:41.800 --> 00:05:43.560
this is the recap part, and then after that we

99
00:05:43.600 --> 00:05:47.120
do discussion questions throughout the recap right, and then the

100
00:05:47.279 --> 00:05:50.279
discussion questions we do thoughts throughout the recap, and then

101
00:05:50.319 --> 00:05:53.199
what are rating at the end? Yes, and then our reading.

102
00:05:58.079 --> 00:06:02.360
So the recap, let's get into it. The book starts

103
00:06:02.360 --> 00:06:06.040
with an angry woman named Sophia spitting at Martha the worst,

104
00:06:06.199 --> 00:06:10.160
the worsest thing you can do is spare someone, oh,

105
00:06:10.600 --> 00:06:15.399
truly discussing. Yeah, Sofia tells Martha that her life is

106
00:06:15.439 --> 00:06:18.560
falling apart and that it's all Martha's fault. The woman

107
00:06:18.639 --> 00:06:20.959
tells her or Sophia tells her that she wishes she

108
00:06:21.079 --> 00:06:25.040
never met her or Linda, and then she she tells

109
00:06:25.120 --> 00:06:27.600
Martha they're all witches and they put the evil eye

110
00:06:27.680 --> 00:06:31.480
on her. Sofia wants to drop the case, and Martha's like,

111
00:06:31.480 --> 00:06:35.480
don't be stupid, and then Sophia storms out and being

112
00:06:35.759 --> 00:06:38.240
spit on, talks to you like this has never happened to Martha.

113
00:06:38.319 --> 00:06:41.319
She's like, what the fuck, bitch? What? And I'm gonna

114
00:06:41.360 --> 00:06:42.959
say this now, but we don't learn it yet, but

115
00:06:42.959 --> 00:06:45.759
we learned throughout the book what this is about. Martha

116
00:06:45.879 --> 00:06:49.360
is a lawyer. She's representing women, a group of women

117
00:06:49.439 --> 00:06:51.600
in a case like it's a very powerful man. His

118
00:06:51.759 --> 00:06:57.600
name is Bencamino, and he owns Soto pe Cans and

119
00:06:59.240 --> 00:07:03.839
it's a set, actual harassment case with multiple women, and

120
00:07:03.920 --> 00:07:07.360
of course these women are low income, undocumented, you know,

121
00:07:08.120 --> 00:07:10.199
the most at risk when it comes to this kind

122
00:07:10.199 --> 00:07:14.279
of stuff. And as Sophia points out to Martha, most

123
00:07:14.319 --> 00:07:16.399
of the people in this case, in this lawsuit, they

124
00:07:16.399 --> 00:07:19.959
don't have papers or rich husband like Martha. She says

125
00:07:19.959 --> 00:07:22.439
that to her. And we also learned that the firm

126
00:07:22.519 --> 00:07:24.920
Martha works for needs to win this case because they

127
00:07:24.920 --> 00:07:26.879
only have enough money to stay open for like two

128
00:07:26.920 --> 00:07:31.879
more months. And her boss, the firm owner, Jerome, doesn't understand,

129
00:07:32.040 --> 00:07:35.279
care or realize the gravity situation, maybe a mix of

130
00:07:35.360 --> 00:07:38.839
those things. He's old and so him and Martha, And

131
00:07:38.879 --> 00:07:40.319
this is not back to the recap. That was just

132
00:07:40.319 --> 00:07:44.199
a little explanation of the lawsuit. Yeah, it takes a

133
00:07:44.199 --> 00:07:45.680
while to get there, and I kind of wish they

134
00:07:45.720 --> 00:07:50.600
would have said sooner, like, yeah, the fuck is happening anyway. So,

135
00:07:51.319 --> 00:07:55.879
while Jerome and Martha are talking about this case, Martha

136
00:07:55.920 --> 00:08:00.319
gets a phone call from her great aunt, her Tia Abuela,

137
00:08:01.000 --> 00:08:04.959
and Nana is worried because I'm sorry, Martha is worried

138
00:08:05.040 --> 00:08:07.959
because Nana doesn't call at this time of day, so

139
00:08:08.000 --> 00:08:10.360
she's like, I better go see what she wants, better

140
00:08:10.399 --> 00:08:12.839
go figure out like help her or whatever, because it's

141
00:08:12.879 --> 00:08:15.600
weird for her to call right now. And she's walking away.

142
00:08:15.720 --> 00:08:18.079
Jerome is like, oh, is that your tiad the Witch?

143
00:08:18.279 --> 00:08:21.680
And Martha's like, don't call her that. Then we go

144
00:08:21.800 --> 00:08:25.920
to Nana, and to me, it was not clear right away.

145
00:08:26.319 --> 00:08:29.279
But we're in the past with Nana. Oh, were you

146
00:08:29.360 --> 00:08:31.480
listening in this part or were you reading? Yeah? I

147
00:08:31.560 --> 00:08:35.240
was listening and wasn't reading. If you're reading it, yes, yeah,

148
00:08:35.240 --> 00:08:39.200
it was so Nana. We go to Nana's point of

149
00:08:39.240 --> 00:08:42.799
view now. Also, I just feel like there's no transitions.

150
00:08:42.919 --> 00:08:45.840
It's just I don't know. I guess maybe a transition

151
00:08:46.000 --> 00:08:49.679
isn't necessary. Well, because each it's a different chapter. Yeah,

152
00:08:49.720 --> 00:08:52.679
I feel like that's oh sorry, in the audiobook, there

153
00:08:52.759 --> 00:08:58.519
is no transition. Oh it's hard to tell. Yeah. So

154
00:08:58.799 --> 00:09:00.919
when it went to Nana, I was like, well, Martha's

155
00:09:00.960 --> 00:09:03.559
about to go see Nana, so oh, and then it

156
00:09:03.639 --> 00:09:06.600
starts talking about Nana but in the past. Confusing. Yeah,

157
00:09:06.799 --> 00:09:09.399
that was confusing to me. Yeah, So we go to

158
00:09:09.480 --> 00:09:12.600
Nana and it's in the past. With Nana. She's living

159
00:09:12.600 --> 00:09:15.679
with her sisters Orga and Luna. Their parents have passed away.

160
00:09:15.960 --> 00:09:19.120
Nana is not like her sisters, and we also learned

161
00:09:19.120 --> 00:09:22.480
this as World War two era. Luna and Olga husbands

162
00:09:22.519 --> 00:09:25.879
are both gone in World War two fighting overseas. And

163
00:09:25.960 --> 00:09:28.840
because Nana is not like the other girls, she's not married.

164
00:09:29.360 --> 00:09:32.240
She's very different though not like in a tomboyish way,

165
00:09:32.480 --> 00:09:36.879
not like the other girls parents. This is deroatory again,

166
00:09:37.000 --> 00:09:39.200
she's not like them because she's not in the same

167
00:09:39.759 --> 00:09:43.639
stage of life as am. I guess she's not. She's

168
00:09:43.639 --> 00:09:48.200
seeing ya all. Yeah. She also thinks she's uglier. Yeah,

169
00:09:48.480 --> 00:09:50.639
and she's been told this like by the family, Like

170
00:09:50.679 --> 00:09:53.279
it's like not just her own thing she made up,

171
00:09:53.320 --> 00:09:55.600
like she has reasons to feel this way. Yeah. And

172
00:09:55.679 --> 00:09:59.799
her personality also is like like like an ugly personality

173
00:10:00.240 --> 00:10:03.120
bracelet to her sisters a break Yeah, and that and

174
00:10:03.440 --> 00:10:05.200
these are things that are told to her. Yeah, I

175
00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:07.399
don't think that about her. In fact, I think that

176
00:10:07.440 --> 00:10:13.039
about math fat No, in fact that you know, oh

177
00:10:13.080 --> 00:10:16.600
even later, we will get to it anyway. So, yeah,

178
00:10:16.639 --> 00:10:19.559
we learned she's not like her sisters. Her sisters both

179
00:10:19.639 --> 00:10:22.120
work because now the husbands are gone. They need to

180
00:10:22.159 --> 00:10:25.120
make money, so they're working and Nana is taking care

181
00:10:25.159 --> 00:10:27.799
of her nibblings a wile her sisters are working. But

182
00:10:27.799 --> 00:10:30.480
it's like a thankless job her sisters. Her sisters are

183
00:10:30.559 --> 00:10:33.559
kind of bitches, honestly. Yeah. I was team Nana the

184
00:10:33.600 --> 00:10:36.799
whole way, the whole time. Me too, Me too, because

185
00:10:36.840 --> 00:10:40.200
like she's doing them a favor. She's not their sleeve,

186
00:10:40.360 --> 00:10:43.559
she's not their servant. Yeah, and yet they're acting like

187
00:10:43.759 --> 00:10:46.840
she is. And so Nana's taking care of the kids

188
00:10:46.840 --> 00:10:49.480
all day. Her sisters get home and knack her about

189
00:10:49.519 --> 00:10:51.720
like things that are not clean, and then they go

190
00:10:51.799 --> 00:10:55.080
out at night. Yeah, so she's taking the care of

191
00:10:55.120 --> 00:10:58.679
the kids twenty four to seven. These are not her kids, right,

192
00:10:58.799 --> 00:11:01.679
these are nibblings. Okay, Like you get it. You love

193
00:11:01.720 --> 00:11:04.840
your niblings, but no, you're not there. You're not supposed

194
00:11:04.840 --> 00:11:06.759
to be treated like this when you're taking care of them.

195
00:11:06.799 --> 00:11:10.039
It should be like a special Plus, she's young and

196
00:11:10.320 --> 00:11:13.679
she wanted to continue her education if I'm remembering right,

197
00:11:13.720 --> 00:11:15.840
and she couldn't because she had to take care of

198
00:11:15.919 --> 00:11:20.600
them exactly. So you know, Nana's in the midst of this.

199
00:11:21.000 --> 00:11:23.960
She's in she's in it, she's deep in it. And

200
00:11:23.960 --> 00:11:26.759
she says, as they say, thank you, that's what I

201
00:11:26.840 --> 00:11:29.919
was looking for and I couldn't remember phrase. I'm anything

202
00:11:30.039 --> 00:11:34.679
worse than being in the parenting trenches to children that

203
00:11:34.720 --> 00:11:38.399
you did not choose to birth. And I say that, yeah,

204
00:11:38.399 --> 00:11:42.279
also for you know, women dad are forced to enter pregnancies.

205
00:11:42.600 --> 00:11:46.720
But yeah, you know, yeah, of course. So Nana in

206
00:11:46.759 --> 00:11:49.039
the trenches is thinking about her own childhood and what

207
00:11:49.200 --> 00:11:51.200
led her to live like this. She's like, man, I

208
00:11:51.200 --> 00:11:54.759
don't want this. And you know, we learned through her

209
00:11:54.840 --> 00:11:57.960
looking back now that she's always had these visions that

210
00:11:58.039 --> 00:12:01.840
have made life absolutely worse for everyone. So another reason

211
00:12:01.840 --> 00:12:04.399
why they don't like her already, right, Yeah, And when

212
00:12:04.399 --> 00:12:07.240
she sees these visions, she hears this buzzing sound and

213
00:12:07.279 --> 00:12:09.799
like ladybugs are always around her, and she's like, why

214
00:12:09.799 --> 00:12:13.960
are they here? Lea me lone? Ladybugs and these visions

215
00:12:13.960 --> 00:12:17.080
that come with this buzz they're never as straightforward as

216
00:12:17.080 --> 00:12:20.279
they seem. And she's contemplating all this life and it's

217
00:12:20.320 --> 00:12:22.799
four am. She hears the baby's crying. She's like, oh

218
00:12:22.840 --> 00:12:26.320
my god. And she hears the humming, that familiar buzz

219
00:12:26.440 --> 00:12:30.279
hum when a vision's coming or something, and she says

220
00:12:30.279 --> 00:12:33.759
to herself, help me, Please let me be something more

221
00:12:33.799 --> 00:12:36.279
than I am now, Please God, let me be brave

222
00:12:36.360 --> 00:12:39.159
and have adventures. In the middle of all this buzzing,

223
00:12:39.320 --> 00:12:42.120
she hears a woman calling her name. She goes outside

224
00:12:42.159 --> 00:12:44.960
to follow her voice, and then she sees a woman

225
00:12:45.559 --> 00:12:49.399
with a black veil and a black riboso. Super creepy,

226
00:12:49.519 --> 00:12:51.519
like I was picturing this, and I was like, oh

227
00:12:51.559 --> 00:12:55.240
my God, like yeah the imagery also like I pictured it,

228
00:12:55.320 --> 00:12:59.200
very gothic, you know, like yes, yeah, yeah. The woman

229
00:12:59.279 --> 00:13:02.440
tells Nana. The woman in black tells Nana she's come

230
00:13:02.480 --> 00:13:05.399
to bring her home. Nna, of course, it's like I

231
00:13:05.440 --> 00:13:10.320
am home. The woman tells her that someone named Madrino

232
00:13:10.399 --> 00:13:13.000
Senda has come to take her to the Aquilare and

233
00:13:13.600 --> 00:13:16.679
that if she's like them, then her visions are stronger

234
00:13:17.039 --> 00:13:20.039
and they can help her with this. It's called levista.

235
00:13:20.240 --> 00:13:23.080
They can help her control it. And then I was like, oh, yeah,

236
00:13:23.080 --> 00:13:25.480
I do have visions, that's true, and yeah this is

237
00:13:25.480 --> 00:13:28.960
getting worse. I'm having fainting spells and I'm not remembering

238
00:13:29.000 --> 00:13:32.480
things things like that. So she follows her. She goes

239
00:13:32.519 --> 00:13:35.679
through whatever like a little portal almost, and so now

240
00:13:35.759 --> 00:13:38.480
they're like in a convent, and then I was like,

241
00:13:38.519 --> 00:13:42.000
why is there a convent? But it's like there's brujas

242
00:13:42.039 --> 00:13:44.679
and the woman who still hasn't introduced herself, it's like,

243
00:13:44.759 --> 00:13:50.799
we're not brujas, we're servants of God and honestly they're brugas. Yeah,

244
00:13:50.840 --> 00:13:53.759
they are just what we called that. Yeah. The woman

245
00:13:53.799 --> 00:13:57.120
then says that she's Sister Benedicta de la Cruz and

246
00:13:57.200 --> 00:13:59.919
Nana needs to hurry. Oh sorry, they haven't gone to

247
00:14:00.120 --> 00:14:02.320
the portal yet. She's still explaining all this, but their

248
00:14:02.320 --> 00:14:04.440
time is running out. The portal is like getting smaller.

249
00:14:04.600 --> 00:14:07.200
She's like, do you know you have thirty seconds? Sister

250
00:14:07.240 --> 00:14:09.519
Benedicta tells her she needs to hurry make up her

251
00:14:09.519 --> 00:14:11.320
mind if she's gonna go with her or not, because

252
00:14:11.320 --> 00:14:13.600
they're running out of time, and Nana decides to do it,

253
00:14:13.720 --> 00:14:16.320
thinking it's not gonna be long before she's back anyway.

254
00:14:16.519 --> 00:14:20.159
She's like fucky, yeah, and so she follows her and

255
00:14:20.480 --> 00:14:23.399
they're walking across the yard, but now everything looks different.

256
00:14:23.519 --> 00:14:26.679
Buildings that were there are gone, including Fort Bliss, and

257
00:14:26.759 --> 00:14:29.639
so Nana's like, where are we And she's like Ela,

258
00:14:30.879 --> 00:14:32.480
what do you mean? And she's like, no, where in

259
00:14:32.559 --> 00:14:35.360
time are we? Wait? Year is it? And Sister Bena

260
00:14:35.440 --> 00:14:40.039
acts like it's crazy that she's asking this, But I'm like, ever,

261
00:14:40.399 --> 00:14:44.120
didn't Sister Benedicta that notice that things look different? When

262
00:14:44.159 --> 00:14:49.320
she got to the way she answers her, She's like, yeah,

263
00:14:49.360 --> 00:14:51.679
what do you mean it's seventeen ninety two? Are you

264
00:14:51.759 --> 00:14:54.279
asking such silly questions? And it's like, well, didn't things

265
00:14:54.279 --> 00:15:00.879
look different to you, sister Sister. So Nana realizes she's

266
00:15:00.919 --> 00:15:04.799
in the past somehow, and it's not Texas or Mexico,

267
00:15:04.840 --> 00:15:11.720
it's New Spain. Yeah. So as a pairent walking to

268
00:15:11.799 --> 00:15:15.679
the convent, they run into Sister Benedicta's a brother, Emiliano,

269
00:15:15.879 --> 00:15:18.679
And I mean, I think we only this seems like

270
00:15:18.759 --> 00:15:21.320
it doesn't matter, but it matters because we meet him later.

271
00:15:21.480 --> 00:15:26.080
I forgot that she meets him this soon or early. Yeah,

272
00:15:26.120 --> 00:15:28.440
I don't even remember. I didn't write down like any specifics.

273
00:15:28.480 --> 00:15:30.159
I think this's just like a high and by type

274
00:15:30.200 --> 00:15:34.399
of encounter, like, and they continue into the convent. Meanwhile

275
00:15:34.399 --> 00:15:36.320
they're walking and I was like, am I going to

276
00:15:36.360 --> 00:15:38.960
be able to go back? Like She's like what have

277
00:15:39.039 --> 00:15:42.840
I done? Yes, And so she follows the sister into

278
00:15:42.919 --> 00:15:46.000
a room where she's told to wait, and sudden they

279
00:15:46.080 --> 00:15:50.360
we're back with Martha again. Very abrupt to me. I

280
00:15:50.360 --> 00:15:52.759
don't know, I think though, because I had the audio book,

281
00:15:52.840 --> 00:15:55.679
I think so, yeah, because I want to say, each

282
00:15:55.840 --> 00:15:58.759
point of view is a different chapter. If I remember

283
00:15:58.840 --> 00:16:00.799
it is it is right? Yeah, oh yeah, when you're

284
00:16:00.799 --> 00:16:04.039
reading it, it's not like abrupt. Yeah yeah, I think

285
00:16:04.080 --> 00:16:07.559
you're right. So suddenly we're back with Martha. She's arrived

286
00:16:07.559 --> 00:16:10.720
at Nana's house. But we're in the present now, and

287
00:16:10.919 --> 00:16:15.600
you know, mat or sorry, Nana is ninety three. Yeah, yes,

288
00:16:15.720 --> 00:16:18.480
ninety three, which I just realized when you read the

289
00:16:18.480 --> 00:16:22.279
synopsis because I put ninety something because I didn't catch

290
00:16:22.440 --> 00:16:27.360
how old she was anyway, Yeah, I was. She lives alone.

291
00:16:27.480 --> 00:16:30.480
Both her sisters have now passed away, and she's always

292
00:16:30.519 --> 00:16:35.440
been the cuckoo bananas tia loca right like yeah, yeah,

293
00:16:35.480 --> 00:16:38.639
which is cool too. I think that's honestly the best

294
00:16:38.840 --> 00:16:42.600
kind of thea. And yeah, I don't have a dea

295
00:16:42.720 --> 00:16:46.039
like that. I don't think. I think our mom isn't

296
00:16:46.039 --> 00:16:47.559
that dea a little bit. I feel like, out of

297
00:16:47.559 --> 00:16:50.080
all of them, yeah, yeah, because she's out there, you know,

298
00:16:50.559 --> 00:16:56.519
breaking the social norms of the culture. Yeah, just like Nana.

299
00:16:56.799 --> 00:17:01.360
Just like Nana. Yeah. But also Nana's very into and

300
00:17:01.759 --> 00:17:03.759
we learned later it's because of La Vistaine when she

301
00:17:03.799 --> 00:17:05.799
went through. But she does, like in her free time,

302
00:17:05.920 --> 00:17:08.799
do like terror reading, so further giving her the label

303
00:17:08.839 --> 00:17:13.000
of La Loca. And so apparently Martha has been trying

304
00:17:13.039 --> 00:17:15.319
to convince her to move into a home called losign

305
00:17:15.880 --> 00:17:19.920
Los Pines, Pignons. I don't remember where the ena is.

306
00:17:20.400 --> 00:17:24.079
I think it's Bignon maybe, Yeah, into a home called

307
00:17:24.119 --> 00:17:27.200
Los Bignon where her older sisters were in their last

308
00:17:27.240 --> 00:17:30.720
years of life. Old people home. There's another name, but

309
00:17:30.759 --> 00:17:35.960
I can't remember it. Like a retirement home, yeah, something

310
00:17:36.000 --> 00:17:39.480
like that. Nursing home maybe, but I thought nursing home

311
00:17:39.559 --> 00:17:44.839
was for like people that uh does matter? Yeah yeah, yeah,

312
00:17:44.880 --> 00:17:48.880
I'm kidding all that senior home. I don't know. Senior home. Yes,

313
00:17:49.119 --> 00:17:51.039
it's like a senior home. It's the same scenior home

314
00:17:51.079 --> 00:17:54.359
that her older sisters were put in once they reached

315
00:17:54.359 --> 00:17:56.000
a certain age. But she doesn't want to go. But

316
00:17:56.039 --> 00:17:59.200
the reason Nana called marthe is because her product Rice

317
00:17:59.240 --> 00:18:02.319
almost caught fire or did catch fire? I wasn't quite clear.

318
00:18:02.440 --> 00:18:04.680
I think I think it was a fire fire. Yeah,

319
00:18:04.720 --> 00:18:08.160
there was a fire because as Martha's walking in her kitchen,

320
00:18:08.240 --> 00:18:11.359
she sees like, well she thinks is soot on the wall.

321
00:18:11.599 --> 00:18:17.799
We later learned it's not soot. Yeah, I'm not sure. Whatever. Anyway,

322
00:18:17.799 --> 00:18:19.839
Martha tells her to pack a bag so she can

323
00:18:19.839 --> 00:18:22.680
come with them for a little bit. And when she

324
00:18:22.759 --> 00:18:24.640
tells her that, Nana was like, oh, you saw it,

325
00:18:24.720 --> 00:18:27.240
didn't you, Lavista? I know you saw it. And she's

326
00:18:27.279 --> 00:18:30.359
like whatever Martha, and thena whatever. So I've been crazy

327
00:18:31.240 --> 00:18:34.599
and Martha or Nana not even caring that she seems crazy.

328
00:18:34.640 --> 00:18:36.680
She's like, oh, yeah, you're gonna need me where things

329
00:18:36.680 --> 00:18:38.240
are changing. I know it. I know you saw it.

330
00:18:38.279 --> 00:18:41.039
You'll have questions. I'm here. And the whole time I

331
00:18:41.119 --> 00:18:49.759
was like, what is she talking about? I meant to

332
00:18:49.799 --> 00:18:54.799
do this sooner. I forgot we always cast our characters.

333
00:18:55.079 --> 00:18:58.200
Oh we do. And now that you're recapping, I'm like,

334
00:18:58.559 --> 00:19:02.720
you know, picturing things in my mind. And so I

335
00:19:03.119 --> 00:19:08.640
because of the you know, mom and old woman dynamic

336
00:19:09.000 --> 00:19:14.279
like grandma almost dynamic, but she's a great aunt. Whatever. Yeah,

337
00:19:14.480 --> 00:19:19.279
because of that I was picturing one day at a time. Okay,

338
00:19:19.519 --> 00:19:21.559
I don't know their names, but you know the mom

339
00:19:21.799 --> 00:19:25.440
from one day at a time, and then the grandma. Okay, Grandma,

340
00:19:25.519 --> 00:19:27.400
I know her name sometimes, so I can't remember it

341
00:19:27.480 --> 00:19:30.640
right now, you know what I'm talking about. The yeah

342
00:19:30.640 --> 00:19:34.119
I do gard name, but yeah, that's why I was picturing,

343
00:19:35.160 --> 00:19:39.960
like say, the like a not as mean looking, but

344
00:19:40.079 --> 00:19:43.880
like someone like Mamma Melda from Goco. Okay, yeah, I

345
00:19:43.880 --> 00:19:48.200
could see that, and then I don't. I don't have

346
00:19:48.319 --> 00:19:52.680
really anyone for Martha. The reason I did be no,

347
00:19:52.759 --> 00:19:54.279
you go, I was gonna say. The reason I didn't

348
00:19:54.279 --> 00:19:57.519
picture someone like as old and mobile as Mama Coco

349
00:19:57.640 --> 00:20:00.960
was because Nanna is active. No, not Mama Coco. Mami

350
00:20:01.039 --> 00:20:05.920
Mela oh my bad. Yeah yeah, is like bossing everyone

351
00:20:05.960 --> 00:20:09.480
around in the unrill right I forgotten? Then, yes, but

352
00:20:10.160 --> 00:20:13.559
she's not cuckoo enough. She gave more the vibes of

353
00:20:13.960 --> 00:20:17.000
one of the madres Marinosenta, no, no, who's thee like

354
00:20:17.079 --> 00:20:22.319
you're right, Sister Benedicta, that Maimelda? Yes yeah yeah, and

355
00:20:22.400 --> 00:20:28.720
honestly the twenty tas one of them is Nana yeah

356
00:20:28.799 --> 00:20:32.400
yeah yeah, but I still don't have anyone from Martha

357
00:20:32.480 --> 00:20:36.400
that I'm like picturing there, you can go with mine, yes,

358
00:20:36.839 --> 00:20:38.519
And that's the only people I picture. I didn't picture

359
00:20:38.519 --> 00:20:42.799
anybody else me neither, except Mammy Melda now for sister,

360
00:20:43.960 --> 00:20:47.759
and then Mama Coco for Madrino Centa because she's older. Yeah,

361
00:20:47.920 --> 00:20:50.039
so that's why I picture it actually now, and I

362
00:20:50.079 --> 00:20:52.880
did not picture anyone for a milliono me neither. He's

363
00:20:52.920 --> 00:20:56.599
just like this blank face, generic cog guy. Get generic

364
00:20:57.359 --> 00:21:02.400
Spanish guy. Yeah, yeah, education, you know what I want

365
00:21:02.400 --> 00:21:14.480
to No, Montoya is Emiliano, yes, yes, yeah, that's Kenon now, yes, yeah,

366
00:21:14.599 --> 00:21:17.160
what about you? I didn't picture that in my mind. Actually,

367
00:21:17.400 --> 00:21:24.279
Young Nana actually was her name. I don't remember her name.

368
00:21:24.519 --> 00:21:27.319
I only remember Mono. I actually don't have any one

369
00:21:27.359 --> 00:21:29.680
for young Na. Let us know who you pictured if

370
00:21:29.680 --> 00:21:32.519
you read the book, because that's where my imagination ends

371
00:21:32.599 --> 00:21:37.240
me too. All right, So back to this, We're now

372
00:21:37.279 --> 00:21:40.119
in the past. We've left Marta Nena at her apartment,

373
00:21:40.160 --> 00:21:43.680
and we're in the past. Uh. Nana is at the convent.

374
00:21:43.920 --> 00:21:47.759
She meets Madre, who asks, how do you know you're

375
00:21:47.759 --> 00:21:50.119
in the past? And then I was like, okay, first

376
00:21:50.119 --> 00:21:52.119
of all, I mean like she came from another timeline.

377
00:21:52.160 --> 00:21:54.119
How would she not know? But she says like it

378
00:21:54.200 --> 00:21:57.880
smells different here, and then smells her and she's like,

379
00:21:58.119 --> 00:22:03.359
you smell different too, Nana smells of deodorant. Yeah, actually,

380
00:22:03.400 --> 00:22:07.079
did they have the orderant in the nineteen forties. I'm

381
00:22:07.079 --> 00:22:09.519
pretty sure they had deodoran in the nineteen forties. Okay,

382
00:22:09.599 --> 00:22:12.079
I don't know. I don't know who she's because, yeah,

383
00:22:12.119 --> 00:22:15.319
I'm not entirely sure because out of like powder, you know,

384
00:22:15.359 --> 00:22:19.759
the talcum powder. You're right, answer later, Yeah, yeah, Maddarino.

385
00:22:19.799 --> 00:22:23.119
Senttha tells Nana she's a gift from God. It's a

386
00:22:23.160 --> 00:22:26.480
gift from God that Nana is here. Sister Benedicta is like,

387
00:22:26.559 --> 00:22:28.759
I don't know about this, Sister. I think she's I

388
00:22:28.759 --> 00:22:30.920
think this is the work of the devil. She's actually

389
00:22:31.000 --> 00:22:35.559
a demon. But whatever, Nana's there now. They can't do anything.

390
00:22:35.599 --> 00:22:37.880
They have to take care of her. They brought her there.

391
00:22:38.319 --> 00:22:41.039
They had to teach her about Labista eventually, right, and

392
00:22:41.119 --> 00:22:44.400
so then they have like the meeting of the Akila,

393
00:22:44.759 --> 00:22:50.039
which is like the witch seance meeting, right or like

394
00:22:50.160 --> 00:22:53.200
you know, the witchy group in the convent. Not everyone

395
00:22:53.319 --> 00:22:57.319
is a part of this only the witches, only the witches. Yes,

396
00:22:57.680 --> 00:23:00.759
So this is the first meeting of the Aquilare. And

397
00:23:00.839 --> 00:23:03.839
then I meet everyone else who's in this, Sister Francisca,

398
00:23:04.000 --> 00:23:07.839
Sister Paloma, and Sister Carmela, and they're all going to

399
00:23:07.960 --> 00:23:11.240
call Laveista together. So they sing their little song. They

400
00:23:11.279 --> 00:23:15.720
hump together. Madrieno Santa toos him. Leavesta's with us now

401
00:23:15.880 --> 00:23:18.160
and we'll be able to see what in Cantos you live.

402
00:23:18.200 --> 00:23:20.680
And that's what confused me the most, Like, okay, so

403
00:23:20.720 --> 00:23:25.799
there's Livesta, there's in Cantos, and there's the Aquilare and

404
00:23:25.880 --> 00:23:29.880
the song. So the Akila sings the song that the

405
00:23:29.880 --> 00:23:33.240
Akilata is the meeting. The gather is the gathering of

406
00:23:33.279 --> 00:23:37.200
the wa gathering. Yes, yes, and they hum together. They

407
00:23:37.240 --> 00:23:40.599
hum together, and they bring Leveista. Yeah, and la Wista

408
00:23:40.759 --> 00:23:47.119
gives them in Cantos ye is like the actual magic,

409
00:23:47.720 --> 00:23:51.920
whatever magical power it is. And then then cantos are

410
00:23:52.000 --> 00:23:57.000
their magical like enchantments. I guess, okay, okay, thanks, because

411
00:23:57.000 --> 00:24:02.400
that was confusing for me. So Maderno Santa tells her,

412
00:24:02.519 --> 00:24:04.920
now we'll be able to see what and Ganto's live

413
00:24:05.000 --> 00:24:08.480
within you. Nana and During this, Nana coughs up a

414
00:24:08.559 --> 00:24:13.799
coyotes thing, so she right, no one knows what it means,

415
00:24:13.880 --> 00:24:17.319
and they end the meeting. They'll reconvene next Saturday for

416
00:24:17.400 --> 00:24:19.720
another aquilare. But then I was like, when do I

417
00:24:19.759 --> 00:24:22.799
go home? And of this is what she's thinking, yes,

418
00:24:23.559 --> 00:24:26.559
and Maderno Santa is like, you'll go home, and Lavista says,

419
00:24:26.599 --> 00:24:29.119
you'll go home like when it's done with you, because

420
00:24:29.160 --> 00:24:34.079
it does what it wants. Yeah, So until then the

421
00:24:34.160 --> 00:24:37.839
convent will be her home. And now we're back in

422
00:24:37.920 --> 00:24:41.400
the present timeline with Martha and Nna. Martha tells her

423
00:24:41.440 --> 00:24:44.319
she's been seeing lady bugs everywhere and then I was like, oh,

424
00:24:44.359 --> 00:24:48.559
that's La Bista and Sister Benedicta and Rosa are trying

425
00:24:48.559 --> 00:24:50.799
to come through. And Martha's like, oh my god, what

426
00:24:50.799 --> 00:24:55.119
are you talking about. It's all nonsense. Stop being crazy.

427
00:24:55.319 --> 00:24:57.400
And then I was like, Okay, I went to the past.

428
00:24:57.880 --> 00:25:01.119
And when I went to the past, I told my

429
00:25:01.160 --> 00:25:04.000
sisters about the past and about the baby I had

430
00:25:04.039 --> 00:25:05.960
in the past, and they put me in a home

431
00:25:06.000 --> 00:25:10.240
for the insane, and I mean it sounds insane. Yeah.

432
00:25:11.039 --> 00:25:12.960
Martha's like, oh my god, I had no idea I'm

433
00:25:13.000 --> 00:25:14.839
so sorry. She's like, no, no, no, I'm not sharing this

434
00:25:14.880 --> 00:25:17.720
because I need your pity. I need your help. I

435
00:25:17.720 --> 00:25:21.240
need your help bringing Drosa over because she's trying to cross.

436
00:25:21.279 --> 00:25:24.000
And Martha's still like, I'll help you find her because

437
00:25:24.039 --> 00:25:28.000
I'm sure there's documents, and she's still insisting that Drosa

438
00:25:28.119 --> 00:25:31.799
is not in the past, that she's like lost just meeting,

439
00:25:31.960 --> 00:25:36.200
like maybe she was adopted out and she's somewhere out there. Yeah,

440
00:25:36.279 --> 00:25:40.079
and so she does agree to help Nana find Rosa,

441
00:25:40.440 --> 00:25:42.920
but find me something else to each one of them.

442
00:25:43.160 --> 00:25:45.799
Nana tells her that they need to catch an encanto.

443
00:25:45.960 --> 00:25:48.039
And this is what confuses me because it's like, well,

444
00:25:48.079 --> 00:25:51.640
I thought you sang the song. It is weird. I

445
00:25:51.680 --> 00:25:57.960
think that the nuns had a stronger control of because

446
00:25:58.000 --> 00:26:02.160
there were so many of them. What is it called levista. Yeah,

447
00:26:02.319 --> 00:26:03.799
I don't know if it's because there were so many

448
00:26:03.799 --> 00:26:05.920
of them or because they had more experience with it

449
00:26:06.200 --> 00:26:10.000
and I'm working with it for longer, so I think

450
00:26:10.000 --> 00:26:13.039
they were able to bring and yeah, maybe I think

451
00:26:13.079 --> 00:26:15.480
the amount of people that were there singing, because it

452
00:26:15.480 --> 00:26:19.359
seems like that's what brings it on. Yea and for

453
00:26:19.519 --> 00:26:24.039
Nana and Martha. It's like random, like coming randomly, I guess,

454
00:26:24.039 --> 00:26:27.400
but more for Martha. So I think that's what they

455
00:26:27.440 --> 00:26:29.759
mean by catching Kanto, Like, oh, like if you feel

456
00:26:29.799 --> 00:26:33.400
it strongly at this point, then we need to like

457
00:26:33.759 --> 00:26:36.880
I don't know whatever they okay, no, no, this makes sense.

458
00:26:37.119 --> 00:26:39.440
That makes sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah, more than what I

459
00:26:39.519 --> 00:26:41.519
was thinking before, because I was thinking nothing. I'm like,

460
00:26:41.559 --> 00:26:45.160
what does this mean? All right? So Martha's like, oh

461
00:26:45.160 --> 00:26:47.839
my god, I don't know any magic spells. It's being

462
00:26:47.880 --> 00:26:52.920
a bitch. She's such a hanger is I'd be diving

463
00:26:52.960 --> 00:27:01.000
into this like magic. What do we do next time traveling? Yes?

464
00:27:01.079 --> 00:27:04.759
Please get me out of here. So Nana tells her

465
00:27:04.839 --> 00:27:07.319
again about La Vista, how it'll make her hungry. It

466
00:27:07.359 --> 00:27:09.559
probably has already made her hungry, but not for food.

467
00:27:09.559 --> 00:27:13.480
For the d I don't remember Nana telling her this. Yeah,

468
00:27:13.680 --> 00:27:17.079
she's like, you'll notice changes, You'll you'll notice you're more hungry,

469
00:27:17.160 --> 00:27:20.240
but not for food. Have you and Alexandro I have

470
00:27:20.400 --> 00:27:23.200
anything different? And then she's like, oh my gosh, you

471
00:27:23.240 --> 00:27:26.440
heard me fucking my husband this morning. Oh that probably's

472
00:27:26.519 --> 00:27:30.039
kind of funny. That was funny, But Nana doesn't care

473
00:27:30.079 --> 00:27:32.599
about this. She's like, no, please save your embarrassment. I

474
00:27:32.640 --> 00:27:34.400
don't care, Like, I'm just trying to tell you that

475
00:27:34.519 --> 00:27:37.839
this is La Vista. It's not you, it's not your relationship.

476
00:27:37.880 --> 00:27:40.400
Isn't suddenly better, it's on the side effects. Yeah, which

477
00:27:40.440 --> 00:27:42.920
brings the question, how do the nuns deal with that?

478
00:27:43.400 --> 00:27:45.559
You know, I don't know. Maybe that's why they were

479
00:27:45.599 --> 00:27:47.440
so hung We'll get there, but that's why they were

480
00:27:47.480 --> 00:27:53.000
Maybe they were so hungry for the bah. Yeah, there's

481
00:27:53.000 --> 00:27:56.240
a lot of little elements to the magic which were

482
00:27:56.359 --> 00:28:00.240
really and like a little I much or what I'm

483
00:28:00.240 --> 00:28:03.319
trying to make sense of it. Yeah, it was a

484
00:28:03.359 --> 00:28:06.480
little it's hard to understand. So mart Da in the

485
00:28:06.599 --> 00:28:10.000
end does promise to help Nana, but she's still thinking

486
00:28:10.119 --> 00:28:13.480
something else is happening in Rosa is like just missing

487
00:28:14.319 --> 00:28:17.799
and magic's not real, and she's not saying a Vista.

488
00:28:17.839 --> 00:28:20.400
She doesn't believe any of it. And then we're back

489
00:28:20.440 --> 00:28:23.359
in the past and like we were saying, it's basically

490
00:28:23.359 --> 00:28:25.680
one chapter with Martha in the present, and then went

491
00:28:25.680 --> 00:28:27.839
in the past with Nina. So now we're you know,

492
00:28:27.920 --> 00:28:30.279
back in the past and in the comment, Nana is

493
00:28:30.279 --> 00:28:32.839
getting to know the other girls, there. She's also learning

494
00:28:32.839 --> 00:28:34.920
that she can't just use le Vista when she wants

495
00:28:34.960 --> 00:28:37.240
because she tried. She wanted to go back home, but

496
00:28:37.279 --> 00:28:39.079
she passed out when hit her head in the process.

497
00:28:39.119 --> 00:28:42.039
Like the Vista just appears when it wants to. You

498
00:28:42.079 --> 00:28:45.720
can't control it, especially now by yourself. She also learns

499
00:28:45.759 --> 00:28:47.839
that it makes you super hungry and hot. That's how

500
00:28:47.880 --> 00:28:53.839
she knows this. And by hot, and like she wants Ornie. Yeah, yeah,

501
00:28:54.000 --> 00:28:59.119
she wants some d Yeah. And so I was honestly

502
00:28:59.119 --> 00:29:01.640
a little tired by and forth already here and this

503
00:29:01.720 --> 00:29:03.559
is the middle of the book, like the back and

504
00:29:03.599 --> 00:29:09.160
forth of the chapters. Yes, I just wanted, yes, wanted Morena. Honestly,

505
00:29:09.160 --> 00:29:11.440
that's my problem. Yeah, I didn't really care about Madda,

506
00:29:11.519 --> 00:29:15.480
like which I didn't. I didn't, so uh. And I'm

507
00:29:15.480 --> 00:29:17.440
also not going to like deep deep dive into the

508
00:29:17.519 --> 00:29:20.000
convent and what happens there. But Nana learns that there's

509
00:29:20.000 --> 00:29:22.279
a lot of gossiping and secrets at the convent, which

510
00:29:22.279 --> 00:29:26.559
I love. I loved all this convent stuff. The convent

511
00:29:27.000 --> 00:29:31.000
gave me novella vibes, you know how it was, Yes,

512
00:29:31.160 --> 00:29:35.519
we do. Yeah. She also you know, learns only some

513
00:29:35.640 --> 00:29:38.279
girls are part of the akila Not everyone knows that

514
00:29:38.359 --> 00:29:40.559
this is happening, but there's like cheese may about like

515
00:29:40.720 --> 00:29:47.000
them diving into and so then it's time heard to

516
00:29:47.039 --> 00:29:50.160
meet again with the Bluegrass, which they don't call themselves brus,

517
00:29:50.160 --> 00:29:52.960
but that's what it is. They're having another akilatin. It's

518
00:29:52.960 --> 00:29:55.480
Saturday now, so like a week hass gone by, and

519
00:29:55.559 --> 00:30:00.799
Madrenosenta gives Nana this liquid bache and so or no,

520
00:30:00.920 --> 00:30:04.000
sorry it's not yet scratched that. Oh, she gives her

521
00:30:04.000 --> 00:30:06.680
this liquid or that tooth that that Nana had coughed

522
00:30:06.720 --> 00:30:09.759
up the coyotes tooth. Myleno sent that grounded up and

523
00:30:09.759 --> 00:30:12.400
put it in some herbs, and she gives it to

524
00:30:12.559 --> 00:30:14.000
Nana to drink. And then I was like, you want

525
00:30:14.039 --> 00:30:16.279
me to drink this ship and she's like, yeah, you

526
00:30:16.319 --> 00:30:18.880
have to do what I said. And then like she's

527
00:30:18.920 --> 00:30:22.680
get she gets weird. She drinks this drink and then

528
00:30:22.839 --> 00:30:26.440
animals come out of nowhere, gross animals like mice and

529
00:30:26.480 --> 00:30:31.920
cockerroaches and raccoons, but also a deer, rabbits, a salamander,

530
00:30:32.039 --> 00:30:36.279
a dozen fucking rats. They're all trampling over Nana to

531
00:30:36.319 --> 00:30:38.680
get to the pot. They're putting themselves in the pot.

532
00:30:39.079 --> 00:30:49.160
They're fucking killing themselves. The animals are killing themselves. It's crazy. Yeah.

533
00:30:49.240 --> 00:30:51.319
I was like, I was like, what the fuck is happening? Like,

534
00:30:51.359 --> 00:30:55.519
oh my god, more animals? When do they stop? It

535
00:30:55.599 --> 00:31:01.279
was weird. I loved it, and and so then the

536
00:31:01.680 --> 00:31:05.160
song goes away. Then canto stops. The animals are gone,

537
00:31:05.240 --> 00:31:07.720
but they were there because it smells like they were there,

538
00:31:07.799 --> 00:31:11.640
and there's little droppings, animal droppings, so it wasn't like

539
00:31:11.720 --> 00:31:15.200
they were imagining, yes, and they all saw it. They

540
00:31:15.240 --> 00:31:16.640
all saw it too. Yeah, And then I was like,

541
00:31:16.640 --> 00:31:18.279
oh my god, how we're going to clean this? And

542
00:31:18.319 --> 00:31:20.599
ma Lino Senta's like, then Cato's not done yet, and

543
00:31:20.599 --> 00:31:23.079
there's still a low hum that they can all hear, apparently,

544
00:31:23.720 --> 00:31:26.480
and then Maleno Senta's like, we're all going to drink

545
00:31:26.480 --> 00:31:28.839
this now, the thing that all the animals went into

546
00:31:28.880 --> 00:31:31.599
and fucking died inside of. She's just weighing it. She's

547
00:31:31.640 --> 00:31:33.359
just making this shut up like she doesn't know what's

548
00:31:33.400 --> 00:31:39.440
going on either. And then I was like, ill, no,

549
00:31:39.759 --> 00:31:43.720
I'm not drinking that animals died in there. Sister Benita's like,

550
00:31:44.079 --> 00:31:45.960
I don't want to agree with this new girl because

551
00:31:45.960 --> 00:31:48.079
I don't know her, but she's right, we should not

552
00:31:48.119 --> 00:31:50.839
eat this, Like weird shit just happened, and it's never

553
00:31:50.920 --> 00:31:53.400
happened before. We don't know what's going to happen, but

554
00:31:53.440 --> 00:31:56.480
Mano Centa literally ignored everyone and just went straight for it,

555
00:31:56.599 --> 00:32:00.160
and they're like, what is she doing? But like we

556
00:32:00.200 --> 00:32:03.240
don't know this at this point, but Madrino Centa is

557
00:32:03.319 --> 00:32:09.920
like obsessed with La Vista. Yeah, and maybe something's telling her,

558
00:32:09.960 --> 00:32:13.960
if you drink this, you will get Labista, because she's

559
00:32:14.039 --> 00:32:16.240
like insisting that they had to drink it, and she

560
00:32:16.359 --> 00:32:20.720
literally just fucking goes for it like anyway, and so

561
00:32:20.799 --> 00:32:22.759
she does it, and then the rest of them do it,

562
00:32:22.960 --> 00:32:25.880
and it makes them go into La Vista or something

563
00:32:26.680 --> 00:32:29.720
like they're kind of high off the ship, right, that's

564
00:32:29.720 --> 00:32:33.279
how I cunctured it, yeah, but also high and powerful

565
00:32:33.960 --> 00:32:38.799
and it's like intoxicating, like even Nana. Everyone's drinking it

566
00:32:38.799 --> 00:32:41.279
and she still hasn't, but now her mouth is watering

567
00:32:41.359 --> 00:32:44.359
like she wants to do and she's like, what that's surprising.

568
00:32:44.400 --> 00:32:46.759
I didn't want this, but she she tries it and

569
00:32:46.799 --> 00:32:49.359
it's spicy, but then she finds herself like after she

570
00:32:49.440 --> 00:32:51.720
drinks it. She's flying out of the sun and in

571
00:32:51.759 --> 00:32:55.079
the sky she can see the desert. She has wings

572
00:32:55.759 --> 00:33:01.279
whatever she is animal, Yeah, she she's apparently an eagle.

573
00:33:01.519 --> 00:33:04.039
And then she soars down, eats a mouse. She becomes

574
00:33:04.079 --> 00:33:06.039
the mouse, and then a flee and then a flee

575
00:33:06.200 --> 00:33:10.799
flee and then a germ and then she's herself again.

576
00:33:11.000 --> 00:33:17.200
What a journey. Yeah, I be I be debews and

577
00:33:17.359 --> 00:33:21.960
dead and she's herself again. And she's like, has now

578
00:33:22.000 --> 00:33:26.200
this new way of seeing, hearing, smelling, her senses or heightened.

579
00:33:26.559 --> 00:33:31.880
It's like we were saying, a very magical, powerful feeling intoxicating.

580
00:33:32.000 --> 00:33:34.359
And she looks around and all the sisters look a

581
00:33:34.400 --> 00:33:40.400
little drunk, a little intoxicated, and at some point she

582
00:33:40.599 --> 00:33:44.400
is able to make everyone float like fly. This is

583
00:33:44.440 --> 00:33:47.640
like her and Ganto and sister Ben was like, buy

584
00:33:47.720 --> 00:33:52.680
me down. She's also then as big as hater. She

585
00:33:53.079 --> 00:33:58.680
her sisters and then Madda. But I think this is

586
00:33:58.720 --> 00:34:03.160
there to really show us how intoxicating, Yeah, Labista and

587
00:34:03.240 --> 00:34:05.920
the Encanto is and then we just like end that

588
00:34:06.440 --> 00:34:09.000
and I'm like I want more of this. Fine whatever,

589
00:34:09.119 --> 00:34:12.000
We're back in the fucking present with Martha, who cares

590
00:34:12.039 --> 00:34:14.400
so here's about Marta and the president and the law firm.

591
00:34:14.920 --> 00:34:17.679
I hope she wins a law suit for the sake

592
00:34:17.719 --> 00:34:22.119
of these women, but other than that, I don't care. Yes,

593
00:34:22.920 --> 00:34:26.400
so Martha is there a home. When she gets home

594
00:34:26.480 --> 00:34:28.880
later or something, her husband's there. He's like, you forgot it,

595
00:34:28.880 --> 00:34:32.239
didn't you You always do this and she's like, what

596
00:34:32.320 --> 00:34:34.719
are you accusing me of? But I hate her every scene.

597
00:34:34.719 --> 00:34:37.320
I don't know that wad. Yeah, it's like they just

598
00:34:37.360 --> 00:34:42.159
fight and have sex. Yeah, marriage, I guess, and that's

599
00:34:42.199 --> 00:34:44.920
what you want. Fine, but I don't care about it.

600
00:34:45.880 --> 00:34:47.199
It's like I don't want to read about it. I

601
00:34:47.280 --> 00:34:49.760
just want to read about Nanna and it's not the sex,

602
00:34:49.920 --> 00:34:51.840
Like I will read about young Nanda having text with

603
00:34:51.880 --> 00:34:56.599
them Nano again. Yeah that's hot, Yes, I like, okay,

604
00:34:56.639 --> 00:34:58.960
like it'll be fine. It was being described in a

605
00:34:59.000 --> 00:35:01.119
manner we were like that was good scene, but it

606
00:35:01.119 --> 00:35:05.320
wasn't even good. It was bad. Yeah, they're just so

607
00:35:05.400 --> 00:35:08.280
I didn't care. I didn't care anyway. He was like,

608
00:35:08.320 --> 00:35:12.599
I could tell man rode the sex scenes, So yeah,

609
00:35:12.760 --> 00:35:15.440
maybe that's it. I don't know if that doesn't tell

610
00:35:15.440 --> 00:35:18.840
you enough. Yeah, So, yeah, they're horny for each other.

611
00:35:19.280 --> 00:35:25.880
Then there's a fundraiser. That's basically what happens. So they

612
00:35:26.079 --> 00:35:30.119
finally go to the fundraiser, and at the fundraiser, she

613
00:35:31.239 --> 00:35:36.320
runs into the man she's trying to sue, Yes, Benjamino,

614
00:35:36.639 --> 00:35:39.000
it turns out, who's a potential donor to the hospital.

615
00:35:39.480 --> 00:35:42.800
She's right. She tries telling one of the workers at

616
00:35:42.800 --> 00:35:45.920
the hospital, one of the people that works with the fundraising.

617
00:35:45.960 --> 00:35:47.800
I don't know her role. It's not explained to me,

618
00:35:48.199 --> 00:35:50.480
but yeah, I think she's like a fundraiser for the hospital.

619
00:35:50.559 --> 00:35:58.039
I must have not been. Yeah, okay, so that's her role.

620
00:35:58.159 --> 00:36:01.360
And she tells her like, this is a terrible man.

621
00:36:01.400 --> 00:36:03.480
You shouldn't take his money, and she's like, who the

622
00:36:03.519 --> 00:36:04.920
fuck are you to tell me how to do my job?

623
00:36:04.960 --> 00:36:08.119
Get the fuck out of here if I can hate you, basically,

624
00:36:08.159 --> 00:36:12.119
but like much calmer. She's very annoyed by Martha for

625
00:36:12.239 --> 00:36:16.400
this who the fuck are you? Yeah, when they get home,

626
00:36:17.800 --> 00:36:21.840
Martha tells her husband Alexandro, how she annoyed this worker,

627
00:36:22.000 --> 00:36:26.280
this coworker of his by telling her this, and he's

628
00:36:26.320 --> 00:36:28.119
like trying to just brush it off, like he doesn't care,

629
00:36:28.360 --> 00:36:32.599
he doesn't care who either he was is up for

630
00:36:32.639 --> 00:36:34.920
a promotion or just got a promotion, and he has

631
00:36:34.960 --> 00:36:37.679
to work with this woman for a promotion, Okay, and

632
00:36:37.840 --> 00:36:40.760
that promotion involves him like not only being a doctor

633
00:36:40.840 --> 00:36:44.960
but being like more like not Adamin but public facing

634
00:36:45.280 --> 00:36:48.159
something for the hospital, so like part of these fundraisers

635
00:36:48.199 --> 00:36:50.800
and all that. Yeah, so like he doesn't really want

636
00:36:50.840 --> 00:36:53.960
to like shake things up. Yeah, from that, I did

637
00:36:54.000 --> 00:36:57.519
think this was interesting. I think that if we needed

638
00:36:57.599 --> 00:37:00.400
to read about Martha, then I wish, like a little

639
00:37:00.400 --> 00:37:03.199
bit of the lawsuit and this drama would have been

640
00:37:03.239 --> 00:37:05.920
a little bit more fleshed out. Like if I'm forced

641
00:37:05.920 --> 00:37:07.679
to read about her, then I wish this would have

642
00:37:07.719 --> 00:37:09.400
been a little bit more fleshed out, you know what

643
00:37:09.480 --> 00:37:12.800
I mean. I could see that, Yeah, he's he's annoyed

644
00:37:13.000 --> 00:37:15.239
by her bringing this up too, because he again, like

645
00:37:15.280 --> 00:37:17.440
you said, does I want to shake things up? He

646
00:37:17.559 --> 00:37:20.719
just wants to get his promotion and be good, you know.

647
00:37:21.519 --> 00:37:23.960
And so he reluctantly says he'll talk to the fund

648
00:37:24.000 --> 00:37:26.719
raising people at the hospital about this man. But mat

649
00:37:26.880 --> 00:37:28.880
that doesn't have high hopes for him doing this because

650
00:37:28.880 --> 00:37:32.400
he's always put her his career before hers. So after

651
00:37:32.440 --> 00:37:34.519
all this, she's like, I can't sleep, so she goes

652
00:37:34.519 --> 00:37:40.239
to the kitchen. Apparently then I made chile or something, yeah,

653
00:37:40.320 --> 00:37:42.239
and so she's like just eating it, even though it

654
00:37:42.239 --> 00:37:44.239
was supposed to be for Alejandro. And she's like, yeah,

655
00:37:44.239 --> 00:37:46.920
this feels good to see that would I don't blame

656
00:37:46.960 --> 00:37:50.119
her for it. I think that's funny actually, And she's

657
00:37:50.159 --> 00:37:54.960
eating his chilea his chile. She's a coyote in the

658
00:37:54.960 --> 00:37:59.599
backyard or fox, I don't remember what animal, one of those, yeah,

659
00:37:59.679 --> 00:38:02.320
for like the animals. And she's like, what the fuck

660
00:38:02.360 --> 00:38:04.280
because that and there's no bad words, it's just me.

661
00:38:04.440 --> 00:38:06.599
The coyote is staring at her or the animal again,

662
00:38:06.639 --> 00:38:09.360
I'm not sure what animal it is. It's staring at her,

663
00:38:09.400 --> 00:38:11.159
and then it just like drops something in the yard

664
00:38:11.199 --> 00:38:13.079
and leaves, and she's like, that is the weirdest shit

665
00:38:13.079 --> 00:38:15.239
I've ever seen an animal do. So she walks out

666
00:38:15.400 --> 00:38:18.800
and goes to pick up the thing and it's a tooth, yeah,

667
00:38:19.079 --> 00:38:21.840
much like the tooth that came out of Nina in

668
00:38:21.920 --> 00:38:29.760
the past, right, and I wore back in the past.

669
00:38:29.880 --> 00:38:32.599
And at the convent, Madrino, Senta's trying to get Nana

670
00:38:32.639 --> 00:38:34.920
to sing the singing song again that made them all

671
00:38:34.960 --> 00:38:37.760
float and then I was like, but that was kind

672
00:38:37.760 --> 00:38:40.360
of weird though, like should I really do that? Yeah?

673
00:38:40.440 --> 00:38:43.679
Like it this appropriate? It feels wrong kind of in

674
00:38:43.800 --> 00:38:47.960
it God's house. Yeah, I don't know about this. Luckily,

675
00:38:48.280 --> 00:38:52.880
Sister Benicta BENETI, oh my god, Sister Benedicta interrupts him,

676
00:38:53.599 --> 00:38:56.000
and then I quickly changes the subject like, oh, I

677
00:38:56.039 --> 00:38:58.639
think father blah blah blah, I don't remember his last name. Father.

678
00:38:59.079 --> 00:39:01.320
Weird there. I think you're actually some shit like that.

679
00:39:01.719 --> 00:39:05.880
The father knows what we're doing here, And Sister Benica's like,

680
00:39:05.920 --> 00:39:09.159
how could you possibly know this? And then she's forced

681
00:39:09.199 --> 00:39:11.079
to snitch. And again, there's a lot of drama at

682
00:39:11.119 --> 00:39:12.800
the convent that's a lot more fun that I'm not

683
00:39:12.920 --> 00:39:16.920
like diving into. I was living for the convent drama, honestly,

684
00:39:17.440 --> 00:39:20.400
this was the funnest part, honestly, the more fun part whatever.

685
00:39:20.840 --> 00:39:25.719
And so then because she said this, she's now forced

686
00:39:25.760 --> 00:39:28.239
to snitch on Euenya, who's kind of a bitch honestly,

687
00:39:28.360 --> 00:39:30.719
like the spoiled little rich girl who like is like,

688
00:39:30.760 --> 00:39:34.559
I'm gonna get out of here, I'm gonna marry Emilianoe.

689
00:39:36.079 --> 00:39:38.239
She is a gauge. She thinks she's hot. Shit, yeah

690
00:39:38.239 --> 00:39:40.199
she does. She doesn't want to like clean the dishes

691
00:39:40.280 --> 00:39:41.800
and do all the little serv and shit the rest

692
00:39:41.800 --> 00:39:44.199
of them are doing. And so she snitches on her

693
00:39:44.360 --> 00:39:47.519
because she's like, Wellena has become close with the father

694
00:39:47.679 --> 00:39:49.639
and she's the one who told me this, and they're

695
00:39:49.679 --> 00:39:53.880
like close. They shouldn't be friends. How do you mean say?

696
00:39:54.119 --> 00:39:57.039
And then she's like, well, I mean I think they

697
00:39:57.119 --> 00:40:00.920
they're like close close, and obviously this is inappropriate. This

698
00:40:00.960 --> 00:40:04.320
isn't being a little slut. This is being abused by

699
00:40:04.320 --> 00:40:06.719
the father father being exploited by the father who was

700
00:40:06.719 --> 00:40:09.320
a grown by. And yet they're all very young, like

701
00:40:09.679 --> 00:40:13.159
I mean she's u Nana's nineteen here, right, yeah, but

702
00:40:13.280 --> 00:40:17.639
I think everyone else is like sixteen, seventeen. Yeah, they're

703
00:40:17.679 --> 00:40:19.800
all in the leges. Even though she was like, I

704
00:40:19.800 --> 00:40:22.320
don't know, twenty would be inpropriate because the father is

705
00:40:22.360 --> 00:40:25.760
a leader in the convent and she is a lowly

706
00:40:25.920 --> 00:40:28.519
whatever their titles were. She's in a position of power,

707
00:40:28.559 --> 00:40:31.199
he's in a position of power, and so they're like

708
00:40:31.320 --> 00:40:35.039
judging for this, but obviously to me, it's the father's fault,

709
00:40:35.119 --> 00:40:40.119
right obviously, and this isn't allowed but then we leave

710
00:40:40.360 --> 00:40:43.679
this very fun drama and go back to the present

711
00:40:43.800 --> 00:40:51.280
with Martha there another okay, yeah, so Martha shows another

712
00:40:51.400 --> 00:40:54.280
tooth that came out of the animal or coyote, and

713
00:40:54.320 --> 00:40:56.400
I don't know what it was. I'm sorry. I think

714
00:40:56.400 --> 00:40:59.280
it was a coyote, coyote fox for sure. Anyway, she

715
00:40:59.440 --> 00:41:02.519
shows her the tooth that was in her yard, and

716
00:41:02.599 --> 00:41:04.440
Nana was like, oh, this is like what happened to

717
00:41:04.480 --> 00:41:06.440
me in the comment, and again Martha's like, oh my

718
00:41:06.480 --> 00:41:09.480
fucking god, not the comment again. There was no convent,

719
00:41:10.880 --> 00:41:15.119
the convent basically, and Nana continues about the convent. She's like,

720
00:41:15.159 --> 00:41:17.239
this is what we used to make the better bake,

721
00:41:17.920 --> 00:41:20.639
and that's what gave us the power that made you know,

722
00:41:20.719 --> 00:41:24.239
Santa was addicted to And like, Martha's dismissing all this again,

723
00:41:24.280 --> 00:41:27.159
telling her it's impossible. She just could not have been

724
00:41:27.199 --> 00:41:29.800
at a convent in seventeen ninety two. Yeah, it sounds

725
00:41:29.800 --> 00:41:32.639
a little crazy, that's a little outlandish. I don't blame

726
00:41:32.679 --> 00:41:34.840
her for not believing it right away. We're not all

727
00:41:34.880 --> 00:41:39.039
willing to believe the unbelievable, like me. Anyway, So Nana

728
00:41:39.199 --> 00:41:40.519
was like, all right, we need to go to the

729
00:41:40.800 --> 00:41:46.880
market right now, scond right now really, because that was

730
00:41:47.199 --> 00:41:49.800
what was built over the convent and she can still

731
00:41:49.800 --> 00:41:54.320
feel the vibrations of the there. And so if they go,

732
00:41:54.440 --> 00:41:56.440
maybe La Vista is going to show them what they

733
00:41:56.440 --> 00:41:58.719
need to do next, how they can talk to Rosa

734
00:41:58.800 --> 00:42:01.760
or find Rosa again. And on their way, Martha continues

735
00:42:02.119 --> 00:42:04.920
just missing or her dance, telling her she's just crazy,

736
00:42:04.960 --> 00:42:06.840
and Nana is going on and on about how La

737
00:42:06.880 --> 00:42:09.199
Bista you can't use it to get what you want,

738
00:42:09.320 --> 00:42:12.079
and that it's not good, it's not evil, it's not

739
00:42:12.119 --> 00:42:14.159
any of those things. It doesn't care about you, which

740
00:42:14.199 --> 00:42:17.400
is it's a force of nature, nothing more, nothing less.

741
00:42:17.400 --> 00:42:21.079
It does what it wants. A cool concept, Yes it is.

742
00:42:21.320 --> 00:42:25.440
It is. When they finally get to this market, Martha

743
00:42:25.440 --> 00:42:27.960
feels all dizzy. Then it's like it's Levisa, you need

744
00:42:28.039 --> 00:42:30.679
to eat now, And Nana doesn't want to eat a burrito,

745
00:42:30.840 --> 00:42:32.639
and I'm like, I'm not sorry, Martha doesn't want to

746
00:42:32.639 --> 00:42:35.960
eat a burrito? About it, I'm just fucking eat, Like

747
00:42:36.239 --> 00:42:38.400
what's wrong with you if you feel like shit? And

748
00:42:38.519 --> 00:42:40.440
Nana's telling you you need to eat and there's a

749
00:42:40.480 --> 00:42:43.559
delicious fucking burrito in front of you. You fucking eat it.

750
00:42:43.559 --> 00:42:50.480
It's wrong with you, fucking Martha anyway. I'm tired of

751
00:42:50.480 --> 00:42:54.800
her shit, honestly. So Nana's like, what you felt were

752
00:42:54.800 --> 00:42:57.480
the vibrations of La Bista. And then she's like, I

753
00:42:57.519 --> 00:42:59.880
regret it, and you're involved because like I would literally

754
00:42:59.880 --> 00:43:02.239
do winny thing to Zirrosa again, including selling you to

755
00:43:02.360 --> 00:43:04.400
the devil. And Matta was like, what the fuck Nana?

756
00:43:05.199 --> 00:43:08.840
Nana A little bit here, I was like, Nana, ne Da,

757
00:43:09.159 --> 00:43:11.079
don't tell this to the person that you need to

758
00:43:11.159 --> 00:43:14.719
help you. Yeah, Like, Nana, please down, be a little

759
00:43:15.000 --> 00:43:20.480
be a little more, a little quaint about it. Yeah, okay,

760
00:43:20.559 --> 00:43:23.239
Like don't let it all hang out out there like that,

761
00:43:23.400 --> 00:43:27.199
put it all in your sleeve, whatever the saying. Yeah, like,

762
00:43:27.400 --> 00:43:29.320
and go whatever I needed to fucking murder you. I

763
00:43:29.360 --> 00:43:33.519
would kill you to see I forgot the kid's name already,

764
00:43:33.559 --> 00:43:37.920
but Rosa kill you Tozirosa. And it's like I would

765
00:43:37.920 --> 00:43:41.039
have stopped right then and there, honestly, Nana, like, Nana,

766
00:43:41.119 --> 00:43:44.320
you're fucking done. I'm putting you in the home. You're

767
00:43:44.360 --> 00:43:47.480
gonna go to the home now it's the crazy people

768
00:43:47.519 --> 00:43:52.400
home again. So it's too late. Leista has was already

769
00:43:52.400 --> 00:43:55.239
coming from Martha anyway, and so she's like, I'm going

770
00:43:55.280 --> 00:43:57.679
to help you anyway. And Martha does get a vision

771
00:43:57.719 --> 00:43:59.480
of what they where they need to go next. It's

772
00:43:59.480 --> 00:44:01.920
like in the as her she sees like la loc

773
00:44:02.119 --> 00:44:04.880
and I'm like, okay, where does lalc literally fall into

774
00:44:04.880 --> 00:44:07.239
all this? That's where she goes like, okay, come on,

775
00:44:07.280 --> 00:44:11.280
You're just like this is I don't remember that? Yeah,

776
00:44:11.559 --> 00:44:14.880
remember that they're at that place. And then there's like

777
00:44:14.960 --> 00:44:18.480
drawings of him, right because yeah, yeah, and then I

778
00:44:18.639 --> 00:44:22.239
saw him, yes, because she's like this is what I saw.

779
00:44:22.320 --> 00:44:24.400
And then then I was like that was and He's

780
00:44:24.480 --> 00:44:26.039
letting you know where we need to go next, and

781
00:44:26.119 --> 00:44:30.000
I'm like all right right, I feel like it felt

782
00:44:30.119 --> 00:44:33.119
very random to me. Yeah yeah, and like I love

783
00:44:33.199 --> 00:44:37.239
like a random deity mentioned, you know, like a but

784
00:44:37.639 --> 00:44:40.280
this was like it just didn't feel like it fit in,

785
00:44:40.400 --> 00:44:43.280
Like you could have yeah, like he could have. It

786
00:44:43.320 --> 00:44:47.719
could have just been the vision. Yep, I said, is

787
00:44:47.760 --> 00:44:50.039
there a lord that we don't know about that like

788
00:44:50.199 --> 00:44:52.119
times in I mean it's not mentioned in the book,

789
00:44:52.159 --> 00:44:54.400
but is the rain of God or the God of

790
00:44:54.519 --> 00:44:56.840
rain and water? Okay? So it still has nothing to

791
00:44:56.880 --> 00:45:01.320
do with or La nothing. So no, it's not like

792
00:45:01.519 --> 00:45:04.960
connecting it at all to me. That'sine weird. All right.

793
00:45:05.079 --> 00:45:07.519
So now we're in the past and things are not

794
00:45:07.599 --> 00:45:12.800
going well in the convent. There's a disease that causes postules. Yeah,

795
00:45:12.920 --> 00:45:14.880
this part is also super interesting for me to read.

796
00:45:15.760 --> 00:45:18.920
I wanted more of this on The father has it,

797
00:45:19.440 --> 00:45:24.400
Elkenya has it, Sister Manuela has it, everybody except the

798
00:45:24.440 --> 00:45:27.800
people that drink the Brea bake. Also, at the same time,

799
00:45:27.840 --> 00:45:32.360
Madno Senta is literally fucking obsessed with Yeah, she wants

800
00:45:32.400 --> 00:45:34.280
to live in it. She's not even like she doesn't

801
00:45:34.320 --> 00:45:35.559
want to be there. She just wants to be in

802
00:45:35.639 --> 00:45:39.679
La Vista and all this mess. Sister Benita approaches Nana

803
00:45:39.679 --> 00:45:41.880
and tells her they need to make the bara bake

804
00:45:42.039 --> 00:45:45.199
again to save her brother Emiliano because he has the

805
00:45:45.239 --> 00:45:47.840
illness too, and she's the one who notices that no

806
00:45:47.920 --> 00:45:51.119
one that drink the Bara bake has the disease. So

807
00:45:51.159 --> 00:45:53.320
she's like, you need to go, well, make the bara bake.

808
00:45:53.519 --> 00:45:55.480
You need to go take it to Emiliano and help

809
00:45:55.519 --> 00:45:58.199
him heal him. But when you're healed, you need to

810
00:45:58.239 --> 00:46:01.920
stay there. And he will find you a husband, because

811
00:46:01.960 --> 00:46:04.239
she's like, you can't stay here anymore because there's something

812
00:46:04.280 --> 00:46:07.159
weird going on with you, like like something with you

813
00:46:07.239 --> 00:46:09.800
in La Vista, like we don't know, like you're there's

814
00:46:09.840 --> 00:46:13.800
something more that has like she's more powerful and it's scary.

815
00:46:13.840 --> 00:46:17.719
And also she's from the future. Yeah, scared of Gnestly's

816
00:46:17.760 --> 00:46:20.800
they hear anymore. You can't say with us exactly now

817
00:46:20.840 --> 00:46:22.679
we're back in the present. They go to that place

818
00:46:22.719 --> 00:46:24.440
in the desert. I had a name, but I didn't

819
00:46:24.440 --> 00:46:27.280
write it down. Okay, see this is still the same place.

820
00:46:27.719 --> 00:46:31.440
It's where they went like that for whatever the hell

821
00:46:31.480 --> 00:46:33.320
it is? What is it again that they go where

822
00:46:33.320 --> 00:46:37.400
they go where the Locke drawing is And I was

823
00:46:37.400 --> 00:46:39.719
looking at them market. They're not in the market anymore.

824
00:46:39.719 --> 00:46:42.400
They're in the desert. But it's not like a random desert.

825
00:46:42.440 --> 00:46:46.119
It's like some kind of like like historical site and

826
00:46:46.159 --> 00:46:49.800
there's like a museum. There's a museum something like that,

827
00:46:50.159 --> 00:46:54.840
and there's like things there and that's why that's why. Okay,

828
00:46:54.840 --> 00:46:58.239
hold on, sorry, let's go back a little bit. When

829
00:46:58.280 --> 00:47:01.320
she had the vision, she says, Lavista time team again

830
00:47:01.400 --> 00:47:03.800
and strong Nanasay is in an excited voice. What did

831
00:47:03.800 --> 00:47:06.559
you see the desert and rain? Yes, it looked funny,

832
00:47:06.599 --> 00:47:10.760
cartoony flat nanasays, that was the rain god. One of

833
00:47:10.800 --> 00:47:14.679
the pictographs at the Weko tanks. Okay, that's the connection.

834
00:47:15.519 --> 00:47:19.559
That's the connection tanks and there is connection. Then there's

835
00:47:19.599 --> 00:47:23.519
a pictograph of at the Weko tanks. That's how they

836
00:47:23.519 --> 00:47:25.000
know where they need to go. And there it was

837
00:47:25.039 --> 00:47:27.119
a connection. Sorry, I was very wrong all that. So

838
00:47:27.159 --> 00:47:29.159
if you're like hearing us and you're like, no, you're

839
00:47:29.159 --> 00:47:31.840
so wrong, let it be clear that we got there.

840
00:47:32.519 --> 00:47:35.079
I look, you forgot about that. But that's why I'm like,

841
00:47:35.079 --> 00:47:37.000
you're wrong about this because what you're saying it makes

842
00:47:37.000 --> 00:47:41.039
it seem like they go to this random, like desolute place.

843
00:47:41.440 --> 00:47:44.719
But it's like a like a I don't know, toruistic

844
00:47:44.760 --> 00:47:47.320
kind of place. I think, yeah, yeah, something like that.

845
00:47:47.840 --> 00:47:49.440
And I was like, why are her cutes there? But

846
00:47:49.800 --> 00:47:52.440
I just realized because I flipped the page right now,

847
00:47:52.480 --> 00:47:56.639
But it was a half day science camp and whatever.

848
00:47:56.840 --> 00:47:59.360
Her shitty husband can't go get them. It has to

849
00:47:59.360 --> 00:48:01.559
be her because I see network and his important fucking

850
00:48:01.639 --> 00:48:04.719
job because he's a doctor. Yeah, so she has to

851
00:48:04.760 --> 00:48:08.039
take time off her witchery shit to go pick up

852
00:48:08.039 --> 00:48:12.960
her kids. That's why they're there, You're witchy shit. Yeah, seriously.

853
00:48:13.199 --> 00:48:15.320
So yeah, because I'm like, for some reason, the kids

854
00:48:15.320 --> 00:48:18.039
are at the ego tanks and I'm like, why are

855
00:48:18.039 --> 00:48:21.320
they there? But now I know why. Yeah, so they

856
00:48:21.320 --> 00:48:23.559
get there and yeah, they can sense this is where

857
00:48:23.559 --> 00:48:26.639
they were supposed to be. Martha's like, oh sorry. Nana

858
00:48:26.639 --> 00:48:29.039
tells Martha to sing a song, and Martha's like, what song?

859
00:48:29.159 --> 00:48:32.880
But it comes to her because she has this vista gift,

860
00:48:33.320 --> 00:48:36.119
so she sings the song of the Kilare without even

861
00:48:36.159 --> 00:48:38.599
knowing that that's the song. And then at some point

862
00:48:38.639 --> 00:48:41.760
one of her stupid kids falls off a cliff. Ruin's

863
00:48:41.760 --> 00:48:45.840
the witchy shit. I know, normally I don't mind kids

864
00:48:45.840 --> 00:48:49.480
and anything, because like, really, a kid will literally do

865
00:48:49.519 --> 00:48:52.280
this for no reason. Yeah, yeah, I will fall off

866
00:48:52.280 --> 00:48:56.280
a cliff when you're trying to bring back the doctor

867
00:48:56.760 --> 00:49:00.960
of your Tia Aula from the past, when you're trying

868
00:49:00.960 --> 00:49:05.280
to do which ships, they will fall off a cliff

869
00:49:05.440 --> 00:49:08.320
break army. Yeah, it was. It really brings you out

870
00:49:08.320 --> 00:49:12.039
a woman, you know. Yeah, it's money in that sense,

871
00:49:12.639 --> 00:49:15.039
and she's like overly worried about him and like girls, sister,

872
00:49:15.159 --> 00:49:17.400
just take them to the hospital. They'll put a cast

873
00:49:17.440 --> 00:49:20.760
on them. He'll be it's not that serious. Yeah, there's

874
00:49:20.800 --> 00:49:23.320
a well okay, I don't know how we might come

875
00:49:23.320 --> 00:49:25.559
off when I say it, and I'll say it. I'm

876
00:49:26.000 --> 00:49:29.840
not a mom, jusitia, but it really annoys me when

877
00:49:29.960 --> 00:49:33.800
something happens and it's not that serious, and not just moms,

878
00:49:33.840 --> 00:49:35.800
but parents will make a big old deal about it,

879
00:49:35.880 --> 00:49:38.119
and I'm like, dude, it's a little cat, it's a

880
00:49:38.119 --> 00:49:40.280
little dis if anything, I should really want freaking out

881
00:49:40.320 --> 00:49:42.760
because I'm the one that's not around kids all the time,

882
00:49:43.119 --> 00:49:47.559
you know what I mean? I honestly and I honestly

883
00:49:48.000 --> 00:49:50.880
completely agree with you, but I think I think we're

884
00:49:50.920 --> 00:49:53.199
just bitches. So we're not We're not the normal ones.

885
00:49:53.239 --> 00:49:56.880
They're the normal ones for I don't know some people, Okay,

886
00:49:56.960 --> 00:49:59.960
Like he falls off this cliff right, and she's like, oh,

887
00:50:00.000 --> 00:50:02.119
oh my god, my poor baby is see e We're

888
00:50:02.119 --> 00:50:04.000
gonna breathe again. And I don't think she says that,

889
00:50:04.079 --> 00:50:06.760
but it feels like that, and I think part of

890
00:50:06.800 --> 00:50:08.840
me is because I just don't like her. You're right,

891
00:50:09.000 --> 00:50:11.079
maybe that was it, but it reminded me just now

892
00:50:11.159 --> 00:50:13.320
we were talking about it of the book I talked

893
00:50:13.320 --> 00:50:16.559
about last week, the thirst so thirsty whatever it's going

894
00:50:16.559 --> 00:50:20.119
to not so thirsty thirsty, and that she went on

895
00:50:20.199 --> 00:50:22.880
too long about her budgets son. There's what I'm saying, Yeah,

896
00:50:22.880 --> 00:50:24.519
where she takes the kid to the dentist and he's

897
00:50:24.519 --> 00:50:26.480
freaking out because that's what kids do with the dentist.

898
00:50:27.000 --> 00:50:29.159
And she was on and on and on about like

899
00:50:29.239 --> 00:50:32.480
questioning whether she's a good mother or not. And I'm like, lady,

900
00:50:32.480 --> 00:50:34.159
you're a good mom. You took him to the dentist.

901
00:50:35.239 --> 00:50:38.440
And that's the vines it gave me, you know, Like Okay,

902
00:50:38.480 --> 00:50:40.880
So he falls, right, he loses his grip, he falls,

903
00:50:41.039 --> 00:50:44.760
and he falls. Kids fall. Marta runs to him, dropping

904
00:50:44.800 --> 00:50:47.719
down to her knees. He's clutching his belly, the white

905
00:50:47.760 --> 00:50:50.800
of his eyes showing panic. She wishes that I handled

906
00:50:50.840 --> 00:50:53.880
were here. Even the older brother's like, nice fall, dude,

907
00:50:54.639 --> 00:50:58.039
Like it's it doesn't seem that crazy to me. And

908
00:50:59.440 --> 00:51:03.320
after two the Kiah She's like, if we were alone,

909
00:51:03.360 --> 00:51:06.039
he'd be crying. She's like, are you her adrenaline raising

910
00:51:06.119 --> 00:51:07.840
through her veins. I mean, it wasn't like a super

911
00:51:07.920 --> 00:51:10.079
high fall. It didn't seem that high to me. It

912
00:51:10.119 --> 00:51:14.159
could be just like it over here. Yeah, And what

913
00:51:14.239 --> 00:51:16.760
was the point of that? I guess just because she's

914
00:51:16.760 --> 00:51:21.800
the mom first before anything. Yeah, and she reads letting

915
00:51:21.920 --> 00:51:25.920
this journey with Nana and Laista, that's the point of it. Yeah,

916
00:51:25.960 --> 00:51:28.519
but yeah, it didn't do it for me, and I

917
00:51:28.599 --> 00:51:31.119
didn't know. Why did you give a shit? Then she

918
00:51:31.239 --> 00:51:33.880
does continue to obsess over Laviista. So then I'm like,

919
00:51:33.920 --> 00:51:36.960
what was the point of this little fucking lesson? Yeah? Yeah,

920
00:51:36.960 --> 00:51:39.400
because look look at this line. Right after that, Martha

921
00:51:39.400 --> 00:51:42.239
feels foolish. All thoughts of helping Nana find Rosa or

922
00:51:42.239 --> 00:51:44.320
sweat from her mind as she looks at the child

923
00:51:44.400 --> 00:51:46.360
right in front of her. She went to what is

924
00:51:46.360 --> 00:51:48.559
because she had a fear that something bad was going

925
00:51:48.599 --> 00:51:50.800
to happen. Then she left the boys so she could

926
00:51:50.800 --> 00:51:53.719
go off with Nana to practice magic to make herself

927
00:51:53.719 --> 00:51:56.480
feel powerful, even though she knew of what could happen.

928
00:51:56.719 --> 00:51:59.760
But it's like, Okay, nothing serious happened. He just fell.

929
00:52:00.039 --> 00:52:02.400
You could have been there sitting on the table and

930
00:52:02.440 --> 00:52:03.760
guess what. You still would have made it in time,

931
00:52:03.760 --> 00:52:05.960
and he would have felt either way. No, okay, And

932
00:52:06.000 --> 00:52:08.599
so then they're on the way back, they're sleeping, they're asleep,

933
00:52:08.639 --> 00:52:11.119
they're taking a nap, and she's like, please be okay.

934
00:52:12.239 --> 00:52:14.719
I promise I won't put him in danger again. It's like, girl,

935
00:52:14.760 --> 00:52:18.679
he's okay, he's not being He's okay. I promise you.

936
00:52:18.719 --> 00:52:21.519
He's gonna fucking live. I feel better with how I

937
00:52:21.519 --> 00:52:24.559
felt about it because you, as the resident mama of

938
00:52:24.639 --> 00:52:31.920
this podcast, I defer to you. I will say, though

939
00:52:32.119 --> 00:52:34.400
feeling I think, I think my point of view on

940
00:52:34.440 --> 00:52:37.280
this is a little like it's cute because I was.

941
00:52:37.800 --> 00:52:40.079
I was a medic and they are, and then I

942
00:52:40.239 --> 00:52:43.400
have years of being, you know, in medicine and when

943
00:52:43.400 --> 00:52:46.480
we were another and for me, even if they were

944
00:52:46.519 --> 00:52:48.679
to break their bones and there's like a little bone

945
00:52:48.719 --> 00:52:52.280
sticking now, I would be calm. Yeah. But also he's

946
00:52:52.280 --> 00:52:55.639
of therapy, you know, because in this kind of situation elation,

947
00:52:56.599 --> 00:52:58.119
you have to be the calm one, and you have

948
00:52:58.239 --> 00:53:01.559
to and it's not that you have to. Martha was

949
00:53:01.840 --> 00:53:05.800
I think outwardly calm, but inwardly yeah not. But even

950
00:53:05.920 --> 00:53:08.559
you're her inner talk. I want to hear anthots either.

951
00:53:09.039 --> 00:53:13.039
But like, okay, my, when my oldest child was two

952
00:53:13.239 --> 00:53:16.559
and I was very pregnant with Sammy, and I could

953
00:53:16.920 --> 00:53:19.239
fucking walk. He I went, I took him to a

954
00:53:19.280 --> 00:53:22.599
new park by myself, but I had not yet realized

955
00:53:22.599 --> 00:53:25.679
how much I could not walk. Right, You learned along

956
00:53:25.679 --> 00:53:29.480
the way. I learned it along the way. Yes, I

957
00:53:29.559 --> 00:53:32.119
learned it. After he broke his COVI goal, which is rare,

958
00:53:35.360 --> 00:53:37.960
but and he slid. He so he he was wearing

959
00:53:38.360 --> 00:53:41.039
he just track suit, which is not shoot out fait.

960
00:53:42.000 --> 00:53:46.320
It's so fast there's no traction, still a rant. He

961
00:53:46.559 --> 00:53:51.519
flew down and you know, normally I will have him

962
00:53:51.519 --> 00:53:54.519
go down the slide and I walk around to catch

963
00:53:54.559 --> 00:53:57.239
him when he's down there, right, But this playground was

964
00:53:57.239 --> 00:53:59.480
a little bigger. I was very very pregnant, and he

965
00:53:59.519 --> 00:54:03.159
didn't take it to account the slowness of your movement. No,

966
00:54:03.199 --> 00:54:06.400
I didn't. And so he fucking flew down the slide

967
00:54:06.800 --> 00:54:11.039
and he landed, and the thud was so loud, you know,

968
00:54:11.280 --> 00:54:14.480
and he just screamed. And then at this time, he

969
00:54:14.599 --> 00:54:17.440
wasn't really like a child that screamed along when he fell,

970
00:54:17.840 --> 00:54:21.559
like he would just kind of get up. I'm like, ooh,

971
00:54:21.679 --> 00:54:24.239
I hears something's wrong. Oh, And he was crying and

972
00:54:24.239 --> 00:54:27.280
crying and like, you know, I could have gotten down

973
00:54:27.280 --> 00:54:29.639
to my knees and cried with him and like freakd

974
00:54:29.639 --> 00:54:31.440
the fuck out. No. I picked him up and I

975
00:54:31.519 --> 00:54:34.679
was like should I take him to urgent care? And

976
00:54:34.679 --> 00:54:36.679
then I saw that he was like holding onto his

977
00:54:36.679 --> 00:54:38.400
little arm, and I'm like, okay, we should go to

978
00:54:38.519 --> 00:54:41.360
urgent care. But even even there, I see this happens

979
00:54:41.519 --> 00:54:44.119
to some kids and the parents are almost like if

980
00:54:44.159 --> 00:54:47.360
it happened to them, crying, yeah, and that's just never

981
00:54:47.400 --> 00:54:50.559
going to be me. I want to be a rock

982
00:54:50.880 --> 00:54:53.960
during this as he should. And also it just doesn't.

983
00:54:54.000 --> 00:54:55.559
Some people were like, oh my god, it just hurts

984
00:54:55.599 --> 00:54:58.400
my heart. It breaks my heart when this happens, and

985
00:54:58.440 --> 00:55:00.400
it's like, yeah, it's sad, but like I guess you

986
00:55:00.440 --> 00:55:04.039
have no empathy. Not just kidding. Honestly, sometimes I wonder

987
00:55:04.119 --> 00:55:06.320
because I also sorry, this is like a little side

988
00:55:06.400 --> 00:55:10.559
tangent now. The same thing when when people will be like,

989
00:55:10.599 --> 00:55:13.199
oh my babys in kindercardia now and like crying because

990
00:55:13.199 --> 00:55:15.960
they dropped it off the carcardien. I honestly didn't. I didn't,

991
00:55:16.119 --> 00:55:17.960
and I was like, I'm so excited for him. He's

992
00:55:18.000 --> 00:55:21.559
gonna make friends, he's gonna learn things. And I I

993
00:55:21.559 --> 00:55:25.199
mean I heard some parents yeah that experience too. I know,

994
00:55:25.440 --> 00:55:28.840
I guess some people, it's just a different, different variety.

995
00:55:29.480 --> 00:55:33.480
I will say this also reminded me of Kindred of

996
00:55:34.400 --> 00:55:36.920
you know, she goes back in time every time her

997
00:55:36.960 --> 00:55:41.320
ancestor gets injured his mom. Oh my god. It's like

998
00:55:41.360 --> 00:55:44.679
the worst and nothing in compares toon to how Martha reacts.

999
00:55:45.000 --> 00:55:47.679
The way that mom reacts. It's like overboard. Even the

1000
00:55:47.760 --> 00:55:51.199
kid is like, leave me alone, please, I'm fine, Please stop. Yeah.

1001
00:55:51.400 --> 00:55:57.239
So honestly, Martha, I'm like, Martha, breathe. Yeah, it's true

1002
00:55:57.280 --> 00:56:00.960
because he's snapping back there. He'll survive. He will survive,

1003
00:56:01.079 --> 00:56:02.840
and he did. And you're not the worst one in

1004
00:56:02.920 --> 00:56:07.000
the world. No, just yeah, you're just annoying. But I

1005
00:56:07.039 --> 00:56:08.719
don't know. Those are my thoughts on Martha. I do

1006
00:56:08.760 --> 00:56:11.360
think she's aver reacting, but also like I understand if

1007
00:56:11.400 --> 00:56:13.480
those are your feelings, It's just not what I go

1008
00:56:13.559 --> 00:56:15.880
through when they get hurt. I'm just like, oh no, like,

1009
00:56:16.320 --> 00:56:19.880
let me help you, but let me not also be

1010
00:56:20.039 --> 00:56:21.679
as sad as you are right now, because that's not

1011
00:56:21.800 --> 00:56:24.559
going to help, you know, And I wish that more

1012
00:56:24.599 --> 00:56:27.880
people were like that, and I was like that, yeah, yeah,

1013
00:56:27.920 --> 00:56:32.599
so Martha here is annoying to me. In short, she's

1014
00:56:32.599 --> 00:56:37.119
annoying information Mata annoyed. Yeah, because again he just fell

1015
00:56:37.199 --> 00:56:39.239
and he's not now, he's not being on his way,

1016
00:56:39.679 --> 00:56:40.920
like I get it. Did it even need to go?

1017
00:56:41.360 --> 00:56:44.079
And he had a concussion Okay, yeah, yeah, you should

1018
00:56:44.159 --> 00:56:48.079
check those things, but whatever, you know. Yeah, anyway, so yeah,

1019
00:56:48.119 --> 00:56:50.639
whatever that partly, I'm like, why were her kids eving

1020
00:56:50.679 --> 00:56:55.840
with her? Wow? Wow? Wow, we really doctor about this. Sorry,

1021
00:56:55.920 --> 00:57:01.480
it's because it got on my nerves, it really did. Yeah, yeah, okay,

1022
00:57:01.639 --> 00:57:04.440
moving on. We're sorry. If that offended anyone, I'm sorry.

1023
00:57:04.559 --> 00:57:08.280
It's just I don't like Martha and got on my nerves. Anyway,

1024
00:57:13.320 --> 00:57:15.719
Right after this part in the past and then I

1025
00:57:15.800 --> 00:57:20.360
finally goes to Emiliano, Emiliano sings a little song, gives

1026
00:57:20.400 --> 00:57:24.280
him brabaha, saves him, you know. And that part is

1027
00:57:24.400 --> 00:57:26.079
longer in the book, but I'm just not going to

1028
00:57:26.079 --> 00:57:32.039
get into it. In the present, Marta learns that sued

1029
00:57:32.599 --> 00:57:34.800
the women that are suing him back, which is a

1030
00:57:34.840 --> 00:57:38.480
total shit dick move. Yeah, something straight out of the

1031
00:57:38.639 --> 00:57:45.360
Johnny Depp playbook exactly. Yeah, and the woman from the beginning.

1032
00:57:45.480 --> 00:57:50.400
Sofia has changed her testimony, and so Martha goes to

1033
00:57:50.519 --> 00:57:52.920
visit her. She sees a new car in the driveway.

1034
00:57:53.000 --> 00:57:55.840
It's clear that she's being bribed. Yeah, but there's no proof.

1035
00:57:56.480 --> 00:57:59.840
And then she threatens Sofia and not to ruin the

1036
00:58:00.320 --> 00:58:03.559
which is probably not the right thing on that. Yeah,

1037
00:58:03.800 --> 00:58:05.880
not the right thing to do here, but she's mad.

1038
00:58:06.000 --> 00:58:09.239
It can she can feel la bista, but don't. I

1039
00:58:09.239 --> 00:58:11.360
don't think she realizes what she did here. I don't

1040
00:58:11.360 --> 00:58:13.159
think she did it on purpose. It comes back later,

1041
00:58:13.199 --> 00:58:15.119
didn't do it on purpose, Yeah, no, but she's mad

1042
00:58:15.159 --> 00:58:17.440
when she confronts her, and really she shouldn't have gone

1043
00:58:17.480 --> 00:58:20.360
there in the first place. Yeah. So then we go

1044
00:58:20.400 --> 00:58:22.679
to the past. We see Nana now living in the

1045
00:58:22.679 --> 00:58:26.239
Gallaves home and she's starts to get to know Emiliano,

1046
00:58:26.679 --> 00:58:31.039
who's a very annoying motherfucker. He's very arrogant, yea, literally

1047
00:58:31.039 --> 00:58:33.199
so annoying, not likable in the very least. I don't

1048
00:58:33.199 --> 00:58:34.960
think he was meant to be likable at all. But

1049
00:58:35.000 --> 00:58:37.679
at some point they fall in love. Yeah, we're back

1050
00:58:37.679 --> 00:58:40.079
in the present. I'm e skipping a lot of things

1051
00:58:40.079 --> 00:58:41.840
for them falling in love, but it was longer. It

1052
00:58:41.880 --> 00:58:44.880
was just that, you know. Anyway, in the present, there's

1053
00:58:44.920 --> 00:58:47.559
another part with Martha or her husband whatever, who cares.

1054
00:58:47.559 --> 00:58:50.119
They're horny for each other. That's literally it. Yeah, but

1055
00:58:50.159 --> 00:58:52.079
it's not even fleshed out. It's just like, oh my god,

1056
00:58:52.079 --> 00:58:54.320
I'm so hot for you. They have sex and whatever.

1057
00:58:54.519 --> 00:58:58.960
That's it. Sometimes they don't, I don't know. After this,

1058
00:58:59.239 --> 00:59:04.119
she goes to her and Sophia is at her office.

1059
00:59:04.119 --> 00:59:06.239
She's a priceless see her, and Sofia is like, you

1060
00:59:06.320 --> 00:59:08.920
cursed me? And Martha was like, no, I didn't, but

1061
00:59:09.000 --> 00:59:11.320
she did it on purpose, but I think she did.

1062
00:59:11.960 --> 00:59:15.559
Leaveista did it. When Lewista stands how angry she was,

1063
00:59:15.599 --> 00:59:17.719
and she's like, well let me help you out, girl, Yeah,

1064
00:59:17.760 --> 00:59:21.440
because Letista. You know, when it wants it acts on something,

1065
00:59:21.480 --> 00:59:25.639
you know. Yeah, it's not every what you want, No,

1066
00:59:25.800 --> 00:59:28.559
not at all. And she's like, my what does she say?

1067
00:59:28.599 --> 00:59:30.400
Has been happening to her? I didn't write it down?

1068
00:59:30.440 --> 00:59:34.280
And it's creepy shit like I don't remember. Isn't it

1069
00:59:34.320 --> 00:59:37.920
something with her tongue or my misremembering? Yeah? It is, yeah,

1070
00:59:38.280 --> 00:59:42.639
two five? Oh oh. She puts a tiny curl of

1071
00:59:42.679 --> 00:59:44.599
metal on her tongue and she's like, I scraped this

1072
00:59:44.679 --> 00:59:46.480
off my tongue last night and then I was like,

1073
00:59:46.519 --> 00:59:51.639
what is it? And she says that she thought her

1074
00:59:51.880 --> 00:59:54.280
she thought she heard her mom calling for her, but

1075
00:59:54.320 --> 00:59:56.119
when she went and she was sleeping, and so then

1076
00:59:56.159 --> 00:59:58.199
her tongue felt funny. She went to the mirror and

1077
00:59:58.239 --> 00:59:59.840
then when she took it out, there was a so

1078
01:00:00.039 --> 01:00:02.880
over thing on her tongue and it was warm when

1079
01:00:02.920 --> 01:00:04.840
she touched it, and she thought she was having a dream,

1080
01:00:05.280 --> 01:00:07.880
but she was able to scrape it off. And then

1081
01:00:08.000 --> 01:00:11.079
when she went to the bathroom, the shavings were there

1082
01:00:11.119 --> 01:00:12.920
on the sync, so it's like real they were there,

1083
01:00:13.360 --> 01:00:15.400
and she's like, you put my little on me, very

1084
01:00:15.400 --> 01:00:19.039
gross anything with the mouth. I'm like, what discussing body

1085
01:00:19.559 --> 01:00:23.800
of witchy stuff? I wish more happened, you know, same yeah, same,

1086
01:00:24.719 --> 01:00:28.079
And yeah it was her, but I don't she didn't

1087
01:00:28.119 --> 01:00:30.559
do it on purpose, but she was angry. She felt

1088
01:00:30.599 --> 01:00:34.800
powerful because La Vista's like and heightening her emotions, and

1089
01:00:34.840 --> 01:00:37.119
she went over there when she shouldn't have, and then

1090
01:00:37.440 --> 01:00:42.920
this happened. She really was cursed. Yeah, yeah, And she's like,

1091
01:00:42.960 --> 01:00:46.320
you're you're a brucha you're a witch. And then Martha

1092
01:00:46.559 --> 01:00:50.480
fucking Martha. So Martha tells her like because also Sophia

1093
01:00:50.639 --> 01:00:53.199
is being bribed, but she Ifia has recordings of her

1094
01:00:53.239 --> 01:00:55.440
being abused, I think or something like that, it's improved

1095
01:00:55.440 --> 01:00:57.519
that would be creating hand it over because of the

1096
01:00:57.559 --> 01:01:01.880
bride Brian. Yes, And so then Martha tells her, if

1097
01:01:01.920 --> 01:01:05.559
you give me the recordings, I'll lift the curse. Yeah,

1098
01:01:05.920 --> 01:01:08.400
my sister, I think you need to like go and

1099
01:01:08.519 --> 01:01:12.960
leave or something, because yeah, this is unprofessional and it's

1100
01:01:13.000 --> 01:01:16.519
not a good look. Yeah. First ports, Sofia has been

1101
01:01:16.519 --> 01:01:18.760
through it also so has Martha, because Sofia did spit

1102
01:01:18.840 --> 01:01:22.199
on her, that's what she threatened her before that at all.

1103
01:01:23.519 --> 01:01:26.000
But this woman has been exploited and victimized by her boss.

1104
01:01:26.159 --> 01:01:31.360
So yeah, yeah she's angry, she is. Yeah yeah, and

1105
01:01:31.400 --> 01:01:37.880
now she's going through it with the curse. So yeah,

1106
01:01:38.119 --> 01:01:41.880
that was I'm like Martha, stop, like, yeah, don't continue this.

1107
01:01:47.719 --> 01:01:51.519
And then one of the past, Nana and Emiliano's relationship

1108
01:01:51.519 --> 01:01:55.199
has progressed. There's a lot that happened to lead them here.

1109
01:01:55.400 --> 01:01:57.119
It was kind of cute for Nana. I liked this

1110
01:01:57.199 --> 01:01:59.840
for her, but I still don't like Emiliano. Yeah, that's

1111
01:01:59.840 --> 01:02:02.519
how I felt too. Yeah, and they're in love. She

1112
01:02:02.519 --> 01:02:04.920
finds out she's pregnant and they make a plan to

1113
01:02:04.960 --> 01:02:07.079
get married. She's very happy with her life. She's like,

1114
01:02:07.199 --> 01:02:09.159
I'm not even in the right timeline, but I'm so

1115
01:02:09.239 --> 01:02:12.440
happy here. And she does later tell Martha like, that

1116
01:02:12.559 --> 01:02:15.639
was everything for me. I never had that. Again, I

1117
01:02:15.760 --> 01:02:17.320
was in the wrong. I was in the past, but

1118
01:02:17.360 --> 01:02:22.960
I had everything. I wasn't rich. But when she's in

1119
01:02:23.000 --> 01:02:25.639
here with him, she's she found out she's pregnant, they're

1120
01:02:25.639 --> 01:02:28.400
making plans to get married. She felt like she had

1121
01:02:28.440 --> 01:02:30.519
it all and I was happy for her. I was

1122
01:02:30.920 --> 01:02:34.880
now in the present. Rafa, one of Martha's sons, tells

1123
01:02:34.920 --> 01:02:39.159
her that he saw the old Lady in Black aka

1124
01:02:39.280 --> 01:02:44.559
Sister Benavita, which pusses Martha off. She's like, she's coming

1125
01:02:44.599 --> 01:02:47.800
from my son Black blas Black, and Martha, you're probably

1126
01:02:47.800 --> 01:02:50.079
not looking at this right. I'm like, Martha, you don't

1127
01:02:50.079 --> 01:02:53.280
even know what Sister Bantha wanted. Maybe she wasn't even

1128
01:02:53.320 --> 01:02:56.760
threatening her him, you know, Yeah, and she wasn't learn

1129
01:02:56.920 --> 01:03:01.559
I understand. But again she's exad or reacting, being fucking

1130
01:03:01.679 --> 01:03:03.840
She's just like Mama Bear is going off on the

1131
01:03:03.880 --> 01:03:08.719
wrong places. Yeah, Mama Bear needs to take a xanax.

1132
01:03:09.360 --> 01:03:18.159
Mamay does any Wow? Okay, So now we're in the past.

1133
01:03:18.480 --> 01:03:21.639
Nana and Emilian have their plan to run off together forever,

1134
01:03:21.760 --> 01:03:24.119
but his ass fucking doesn't show up. I was so mad.

1135
01:03:24.199 --> 01:03:27.360
I was so mad. I was rooting. I was not

1136
01:03:27.719 --> 01:03:31.000
rooting for him. I wanted him to do the right thing. Also,

1137
01:03:31.360 --> 01:03:37.480
he didn't mention with that. Milleno's dad Oh yeah, basically

1138
01:03:37.760 --> 01:03:40.800
tells Nana, Hey, instead of looking for a husband for you,

1139
01:03:40.960 --> 01:03:43.320
I'm actually gonna be your husband because I love the

1140
01:03:43.320 --> 01:03:46.000
way that you eat your appetite. It's so hot for me,

1141
01:03:47.320 --> 01:03:50.360
and I want to marry you because of that. Mind you,

1142
01:03:50.440 --> 01:03:56.239
she's starving Horney because of the Laista vista, and she's

1143
01:03:56.280 --> 01:04:00.760
pregnant on top of that already, you know. So that's

1144
01:04:00.760 --> 01:04:04.039
why they make the plan to run away together, because yes,

1145
01:04:04.360 --> 01:04:08.840
of the dad. Yeah, And ultimately, Emiliano is a piece

1146
01:04:08.840 --> 01:04:11.400
of shit for not standing up to his dad and

1147
01:04:11.440 --> 01:04:14.360
doing the right thing. That's right. And did you make

1148
01:04:14.400 --> 01:04:16.159
note of the stupid I don't know if he sends

1149
01:04:16.199 --> 01:04:18.800
a no or just a message with the one of

1150
01:04:18.840 --> 01:04:21.760
the guys that works for him, No I didn't. Okay,

1151
01:04:21.800 --> 01:04:24.039
So they're supposed to run off like on a horse

1152
01:04:24.079 --> 01:04:26.440
character or something, and all he says that it's not

1153
01:04:26.480 --> 01:04:30.280
a good it's not good weather for writing bullshit. What

1154
01:04:30.440 --> 01:04:33.239
kind of fucking shit excuses them? Yeah, so yeah, his

1155
01:04:33.360 --> 01:04:35.320
asks to show up, and then he sends some shitty

1156
01:04:35.320 --> 01:04:38.280
ass fucking note that literally explains nothing, apologies or nothing.

1157
01:04:38.280 --> 01:04:40.440
Because he's a little bitch, that's why. And all this

1158
01:04:40.639 --> 01:04:43.159
to not send up to his dad. In the end,

1159
01:04:43.199 --> 01:04:46.559
his reputation mattered more than Nanna and his baby. Yeah.

1160
01:04:46.599 --> 01:04:49.360
And so now Nana and Maria, who has been helping

1161
01:04:49.400 --> 01:04:52.280
her with his plan. She she's a servant, I think

1162
01:04:52.280 --> 01:04:55.360
at the house and they're forced to return to the

1163
01:04:55.360 --> 01:04:59.000
convent and they were back in the past. Martha and

1164
01:04:59.079 --> 01:05:02.599
her super husband and kids go somewhere camping. They're gone

1165
01:05:02.599 --> 01:05:06.400
for the weekend, leaving her and leaving her with Nana

1166
01:05:06.559 --> 01:05:11.039
to do which ship which we love Yeah, yeah, we

1167
01:05:11.079 --> 01:05:14.880
love it. They're gonna make the brabake and so yeah,

1168
01:05:14.920 --> 01:05:17.880
they make it and then they eat it, cutting things

1169
01:05:17.920 --> 01:05:20.599
so sure they make it, they eat it. And then

1170
01:05:21.239 --> 01:05:24.800
the soot that Martha thought she had seen when the

1171
01:05:24.800 --> 01:05:27.840
fire first happened, it's Levesta, and now she sees that

1172
01:05:27.880 --> 01:05:33.400
it's like this black thing folding into itself aka Levesta

1173
01:05:33.719 --> 01:05:37.599
making a little portal, And so they go through that

1174
01:05:37.719 --> 01:05:40.559
little portal there and now they're in La Siena, the

1175
01:05:40.599 --> 01:05:44.039
restaurant that one of the sisters they're not sisters owned,

1176
01:05:44.039 --> 01:05:47.280
I think it was Luna. I don't remember which one,

1177
01:05:47.960 --> 01:05:49.639
because there's Luna and Organ. I don't know one of

1178
01:05:49.639 --> 01:05:54.000
them on the restaurant is Marta? Is her mom Grant,

1179
01:05:54.440 --> 01:05:58.559
it's Grandmama. Yeah, I don't remember who that's right, me neither.

1180
01:05:58.599 --> 01:06:01.480
I think it's Orga though maybe. So they walk into

1181
01:06:01.559 --> 01:06:04.960
Lasna and it's all empty, and we leave them. Then

1182
01:06:05.039 --> 01:06:07.800
nowhere in the past, Nana's back in the convent. Sister

1183
01:06:07.920 --> 01:06:10.679
Benedicta is in charge now because Madno Centa has gone

1184
01:06:10.679 --> 01:06:14.119
out the deep end. She is she is in Labista.

1185
01:06:14.400 --> 01:06:19.320
She ate all of thebeke, all of it until it

1186
01:06:19.360 --> 01:06:23.880
was gone in the sitting like yeah, like the fucking

1187
01:06:23.880 --> 01:06:28.760
Telltobe is like yeah, that was her, And now her

1188
01:06:28.800 --> 01:06:32.119
mind is lost. She is lost in the sauce of

1189
01:06:32.280 --> 01:06:39.760
the Yeah, yes, yes, that's right, And Sister Benita's like, yeah,

1190
01:06:39.760 --> 01:06:42.440
she's no help here. I'm in charge now. She tells

1191
01:06:42.480 --> 01:06:44.159
Nana that once the baby's here, they're going to find

1192
01:06:44.199 --> 01:06:46.199
a new family for it, and she can stay there

1193
01:06:46.280 --> 01:06:51.400
forever whatever out. Oh no, no, she could stay there

1194
01:06:51.440 --> 01:06:57.079
after Nana didn't want this, but you could say there

1195
01:06:57.079 --> 01:07:01.000
as a servant. She couldn't be a sister at all. Right, right, yeah,

1196
01:07:01.400 --> 01:07:03.880
and Nana doesn't want this, she wants her baby. And

1197
01:07:03.960 --> 01:07:07.119
so Carmela, one of her best tides from the convent,

1198
01:07:07.360 --> 01:07:08.920
was like, we can't let her do this, and like,

1199
01:07:09.039 --> 01:07:12.960
let's go. Yes, she was cool, maybe because her name

1200
01:07:13.039 --> 01:07:17.599
was very close to Carmen, I don't know. And so

1201
01:07:17.719 --> 01:07:20.039
Carmela was like, let's go to Kenya. Let's see what

1202
01:07:20.280 --> 01:07:22.599
Kenya thinks. And then I was like why would we go?

1203
01:07:22.639 --> 01:07:27.719
Say fun up? Yeah, because yeah, when she was at

1204
01:07:27.719 --> 01:07:30.639
the convent was a hot mess. She was a bitch,

1205
01:07:30.760 --> 01:07:36.840
She a hut mess. It turns out, when everyone was sick,

1206
01:07:36.880 --> 01:07:38.719
including Okenya, they did give her a little bit of

1207
01:07:38.760 --> 01:07:41.079
backhead to try and save her, because Carmela begged them

1208
01:07:41.119 --> 01:07:43.760
to write and they did it. But and it did

1209
01:07:43.800 --> 01:07:45.960
save her life, but it also made her blind and

1210
01:07:46.000 --> 01:07:49.920
scarred her face. Yeah, so she was humbled. Yeah, she

1211
01:07:50.079 --> 01:07:56.519
was too humbled. Honestly, I honestly me too. Let me

1212
01:07:56.519 --> 01:07:59.880
second of chilled down a little bit. So yeah, natures

1213
01:07:59.880 --> 01:08:04.480
and yeah, just bitches, and it was it was too much.

1214
01:08:04.519 --> 01:08:06.199
I feel that I felt bad for her. I did,

1215
01:08:06.320 --> 01:08:08.559
I did. I didn't like it. But it also gave

1216
01:08:08.559 --> 01:08:13.920
her visions, so now she was just all seeing powerful Brukham. Yeah,

1217
01:08:14.400 --> 01:08:18.920
and so they make a plan. They sneak Nana into

1218
01:08:18.920 --> 01:08:22.000
see Maderino Senta, but she's completely out of it. Nana.

1219
01:08:22.000 --> 01:08:23.399
I was like trying to talk to her, like, I

1220
01:08:23.439 --> 01:08:25.159
know you can hear me through that ship. I know

1221
01:08:26.000 --> 01:08:31.279
you can hear me through. I need your help. You

1222
01:08:31.399 --> 01:08:34.279
only you're in this situation now because I made the

1223
01:08:34.319 --> 01:08:36.760
bach that brought you all this, that made you so

1224
01:08:36.840 --> 01:08:39.199
happy that you ate all of it, you gretty bitch,

1225
01:08:39.640 --> 01:08:41.640
and you owe me this. You owe me this. I

1226
01:08:41.680 --> 01:08:44.039
need to go back to my timeline with my baby.

1227
01:08:44.479 --> 01:08:49.159
Basically is what happens there. So Maderino Senta says nothing.

1228
01:08:49.279 --> 01:08:51.720
He's like out of it. She's just like I don't

1229
01:08:51.760 --> 01:08:57.560
know what she looks like. I'm picturing like yes, just

1230
01:08:57.560 --> 01:09:05.800
freaking like, oh my god. Okay, So yeah, she says nothing.

1231
01:09:06.159 --> 01:09:09.399
Ten months go by, her belly is getting bigger, and

1232
01:09:09.479 --> 01:09:13.840
as Nana's belly gets bigger, mathe No Santa is weaker, weird,

1233
01:09:14.079 --> 01:09:17.600
and Nana is afraid that made No Sana is gonna

1234
01:09:17.640 --> 01:09:20.800
die and that door is never gonna open for her

1235
01:09:20.800 --> 01:09:22.520
to be able to go back. And then the day

1236
01:09:22.560 --> 01:09:24.960
comes for her to give birth and she has a

1237
01:09:25.000 --> 01:09:28.439
little baby girl who she immediately loves, which again doesn't

1238
01:09:28.439 --> 01:09:31.840
always happen, and that's okay. And so she has this

1239
01:09:31.880 --> 01:09:33.800
little baby girl and she's like, you're my world. Your

1240
01:09:33.840 --> 01:09:40.119
name is a Rosa, beautiful name, pretty name. And that's

1241
01:09:40.119 --> 01:09:42.319
a lot for me to say it because I hated it. It

1242
01:09:42.279 --> 01:09:46.479
was in the past, okay, but you know what, we

1243
01:09:46.520 --> 01:09:50.279
all grow, we can let in general it's a good name. Yeah,

1244
01:09:50.560 --> 01:09:53.920
not that Rosa though anyway. No, I'm just kidding. It

1245
01:09:54.000 --> 01:09:56.039
was a lot hard feeling. There's a long time ago.

1246
01:09:58.439 --> 01:10:00.840
We were like freshmen. It was all of high school.

1247
01:10:00.840 --> 01:10:05.039
But it doesn't matter anyway, She named Dosa. Nana had

1248
01:10:05.079 --> 01:10:08.319
been preparing to just escape the convent with Rosa anywhere,

1249
01:10:08.720 --> 01:10:10.399
it didn't matter even if she was stuck in this

1250
01:10:10.439 --> 01:10:12.000
time period. She was not going to stay at the

1251
01:10:12.000 --> 01:10:13.840
convent because she didn't want to give her baby up.

1252
01:10:14.199 --> 01:10:16.159
Of course she had to right to keep her baby

1253
01:10:16.399 --> 01:10:19.560
if she wants her baby. We person, we thought right,

1254
01:10:19.600 --> 01:10:23.880
because it doesn't apply her. So madegno Centa opens the

1255
01:10:23.920 --> 01:10:25.840
door and she's like, come with me. She's like, oh

1256
01:10:25.840 --> 01:10:27.760
my God, thank you God, because she's like, this is

1257
01:10:27.800 --> 01:10:30.520
my way out. And so madegno Centa opened some sort

1258
01:10:30.560 --> 01:10:33.119
of portal and she's like, oh, right, you need to

1259
01:10:33.119 --> 01:10:36.239
go through it like now. And in the chaos of

1260
01:10:36.279 --> 01:10:39.439
all this, sister Benedicta ends up with Rosa, with baby Rosa.

1261
01:10:39.760 --> 01:10:41.159
And then I was like, yeah, we're back to me.

1262
01:10:41.239 --> 01:10:43.680
That's my baby. And then the portal closest she's back

1263
01:10:43.720 --> 01:10:46.520
in her own time without her baby. Heartbreaks, very sad.

1264
01:10:46.840 --> 01:10:48.600
I felt for her, and because I only want good

1265
01:10:48.640 --> 01:10:50.640
things for Nana, she's my favorite. I want the best

1266
01:10:50.640 --> 01:10:59.079
for Nana me too. And so now we're back in

1267
01:10:59.119 --> 01:11:03.359
the present sort of like is this they're in the restaurant. Yeah,

1268
01:11:04.319 --> 01:11:06.000
so I don't know if it's the president. It's like

1269
01:11:06.079 --> 01:11:09.840
another yeah there, Honestly, she said later it's a void. Yeah,

1270
01:11:09.960 --> 01:11:13.600
it's nowhere. So now they're in the void. Martha watches

1271
01:11:13.640 --> 01:11:15.880
the doors of the restaurant open. Two women walk in.

1272
01:11:16.000 --> 01:11:17.640
When is dressed like a nun. The other one is

1273
01:11:17.680 --> 01:11:21.479
in a long dress. They're both old, older when it's

1274
01:11:21.560 --> 01:11:25.840
very old. That's sister of Benedicta. Anyway, the one in

1275
01:11:25.880 --> 01:11:28.159
the dress runs to Nana and it's like Mama, and

1276
01:11:28.159 --> 01:11:31.359
they're crying. They're hugging each other. It's beautiful. Then fucking

1277
01:11:31.359 --> 01:11:34.119
Martha ruins a moment by going up to sister Benedicta

1278
01:11:34.119 --> 01:11:35.760
and she's like, don't ever go near my son again.

1279
01:11:36.760 --> 01:11:38.439
I just think of that. Media told me about that

1280
01:11:38.479 --> 01:11:44.000
one time, the meme with the two identical, like one's big,

1281
01:11:44.039 --> 01:11:46.159
one small, and it's like, don't ever go near me

1282
01:11:46.319 --> 01:11:51.560
or my son again. So it's so dumb, and you

1283
01:11:51.600 --> 01:11:53.680
could do that meme with anything. That was Martha, don't

1284
01:11:53.680 --> 01:11:56.760
ever go near me or my son again, and what

1285
01:11:56.880 --> 01:12:04.960
about you, goddamn it, not that son's like, fuck, they

1286
01:12:04.960 --> 01:12:08.119
should have fallen off the cliff harder. I'm sorry, I'm sorry,

1287
01:12:08.159 --> 01:12:17.239
I'm sorry. So hum, it's not their fault that it's annoying.

1288
01:12:17.279 --> 01:12:19.920
It's Martha's fault. It's Martha's fault. Yeah, it's not the

1289
01:12:19.960 --> 01:12:22.560
kid's fault. No, I will never blame a kid for this.

1290
01:12:22.720 --> 01:12:29.840
It's Martha and Alexandro probably because yeah, yeah, I'm just

1291
01:12:29.840 --> 01:12:34.520
just like default, Yeah, sister. That tells her like, I

1292
01:12:34.560 --> 01:12:36.560
wasn't trying to get to your son. I only did

1293
01:12:36.560 --> 01:12:38.960
this because I couldn't get to you through to you,

1294
01:12:39.000 --> 01:12:42.079
because you're using La Vista for your own purposes, which

1295
01:12:42.479 --> 01:12:48.000
I know that you're worn about. She was multiple times Rosa.

1296
01:12:48.960 --> 01:12:50.680
And then she tells her like, the reason we're here

1297
01:12:50.720 --> 01:12:53.159
is because Rosa insisted that we do something, because you

1298
01:12:53.159 --> 01:12:54.960
guys were taking too long to figure this out, that

1299
01:12:55.000 --> 01:12:57.520
we're trying to reach out, and she's a willful child.

1300
01:12:57.920 --> 01:13:01.239
And then you know, Martha looks and she's like child,

1301
01:13:01.600 --> 01:13:05.159
wasn't a grown ass woman? But apparently she's only twelve.

1302
01:13:05.199 --> 01:13:08.039
They just look different in the void the void, which

1303
01:13:08.119 --> 01:13:10.760
is it interesting? The void makes them look like how

1304
01:13:10.840 --> 01:13:14.960
much time has passed? I think so, Yeah, apparently she's

1305
01:13:15.000 --> 01:13:18.600
only twelve. And Carmela has been telling Rosa all about Nana,

1306
01:13:18.640 --> 01:13:21.640
all the stories, all Nana, yes, all the Nana Ti

1307
01:13:21.760 --> 01:13:23.880
she did not forget her homegirl, and she's like, I'm

1308
01:13:23.880 --> 01:13:26.720
telling your kid everything about you, and you know what,

1309
01:13:26.800 --> 01:13:28.920
more power to Carmela. I love her. I love her,

1310
01:13:29.640 --> 01:13:32.199
and so you know, she makes sure to tell her

1311
01:13:32.239 --> 01:13:34.119
like you were loved, she loved you, she didn't want

1312
01:13:34.119 --> 01:13:37.159
to leave you. And so then they don't know if

1313
01:13:37.239 --> 01:13:39.840
Rosa's going to have this curse. They call it a curse,

1314
01:13:39.920 --> 01:13:41.039
and I think it is a curse. I don't think

1315
01:13:41.039 --> 01:13:44.479
it's a gift. It sounds there most of the time.

1316
01:13:44.640 --> 01:13:46.640
So Rosa, They're like, we weren't sure if she was

1317
01:13:46.680 --> 01:13:48.600
gonna have this curse yet. But then one day she

1318
01:13:48.680 --> 01:13:51.760
found an encanto. And that's what confused me, because I'm like, Okay, then,

1319
01:13:51.800 --> 01:13:54.680
what the hell isn't it Oh maybe, okay, hold on,

1320
01:13:55.520 --> 01:14:01.159
plain your thought. First, she found her gift, I think

1321
01:14:02.079 --> 01:14:05.560
something like that, Like I, yeah, how I was thinking

1322
01:14:05.560 --> 01:14:07.479
of it as like you found in canto because you

1323
01:14:07.520 --> 01:14:11.239
have no power over Laviista really, so then like the

1324
01:14:11.279 --> 01:14:14.159
magic comes across you. So I'm not sure if it's

1325
01:14:14.159 --> 01:14:17.199
like her exact power or as like a magical like

1326
01:14:17.399 --> 01:14:21.439
enchant mint and when something magical happens, that's in canto. Yeah,

1327
01:14:21.760 --> 01:14:25.920
that's how I came. Yeah, because she's in the kitchen

1328
01:14:26.039 --> 01:14:29.840
and Lewista, she doesn't know what's happening, but Levista comes

1329
01:14:29.880 --> 01:14:32.319
to her, and then the bunnies that we're gonna get cooked.

1330
01:14:32.359 --> 01:14:35.159
All starts dancing or walking I remember, and it freaks

1331
01:14:35.159 --> 01:14:38.159
everyone out and that's when they realize, okay, she has

1332
01:14:38.239 --> 01:14:43.199
this too, and she joins Zakalare then and once she

1333
01:14:43.319 --> 01:14:47.000
joined the Akalada, she's like, where's Nina. We need to

1334
01:14:47.039 --> 01:14:49.319
find her, and so that's when they start looking for her.

1335
01:14:49.520 --> 01:14:54.359
Martha asks sister Benedicta why Nana couldn't stay, and uh,

1336
01:14:54.680 --> 01:14:56.720
the sister tells her, like, they can't exist in the

1337
01:14:56.760 --> 01:15:00.000
timeline because if she doesn't exist, you wouldn't exist. Yeah,

1338
01:15:00.199 --> 01:15:05.359
Drosa wouldn't exist. Like, yeah, Rosa is her grandmother's mother's

1339
01:15:05.439 --> 01:15:09.000
mother's mother. I don't fucking know that's what the book said.

1340
01:15:09.600 --> 01:15:11.640
Oh well, because yes, I'm like trying to think of it,

1341
01:15:11.680 --> 01:15:15.359
but yeah, it's because Nana was in the past. So yeah,

1342
01:15:15.720 --> 01:15:21.199
she's like a ancestor. Yes, yes. And so meanwhile Rosa

1343
01:15:21.199 --> 01:15:23.800
and then are catching up, Rosa telling her about all

1344
01:15:23.800 --> 01:15:27.119
about life and the convent, and then I was like, okay,

1345
01:15:27.159 --> 01:15:29.000
but they're taking care of you, and Rosa's like, yes,

1346
01:15:29.079 --> 01:15:31.760
this they are. She's so like, you know, she's so

1347
01:15:31.880 --> 01:15:34.880
worried about her daughter. It's beautiful. Nana tells her that

1348
01:15:35.159 --> 01:15:38.560
when she returned, I think only like half a day

1349
01:15:38.560 --> 01:15:41.720
had passed for her, because her sisters find her and

1350
01:15:41.720 --> 01:15:43.880
they're like, where were you this morning? Yeah? I hadn't

1351
01:15:43.920 --> 01:15:47.399
been that long. Yeah, So honestly, like it seems like

1352
01:15:47.439 --> 01:15:49.800
she went missing in the morning or at night, because

1353
01:15:50.039 --> 01:15:52.359
she's woken about four am, right, and then she's gone

1354
01:15:52.399 --> 01:15:54.399
like the rest of the day and told what it

1355
01:15:54.439 --> 01:15:57.159
seems like she's back maybe late afternoon, like I had

1356
01:15:57.199 --> 01:16:00.720
to call off for name. Yeah, yeah, and like she

1357
01:16:00.840 --> 01:16:03.119
looks like shit when they find they find they find

1358
01:16:03.119 --> 01:16:07.079
her she literally just gave birth. Her body looks like it.

1359
01:16:07.159 --> 01:16:10.119
She's a wreck. Yeah, And she tells them I was

1360
01:16:10.159 --> 01:16:12.399
in the past and they're like, you're crazy, and they

1361
01:16:12.399 --> 01:16:16.079
put her in a home for the insane. Yeah, it's

1362
01:16:16.159 --> 01:16:18.800
messed up, But again, it probably sounds crazy when you're

1363
01:16:18.800 --> 01:16:21.560
hearing it right the first time, like what do you mean?

1364
01:16:21.920 --> 01:16:25.680
But as Nana is telling Drossa what happened to her after,

1365
01:16:26.000 --> 01:16:28.479
Martha is seeing all this as if she were there.

1366
01:16:28.880 --> 01:16:31.800
I think it's because of La Bista, because at some

1367
01:16:31.840 --> 01:16:33.279
point she's like, I don't want to see this. I

1368
01:16:33.279 --> 01:16:35.640
don't want to be here, Like, yeah, I don't, because

1369
01:16:35.640 --> 01:16:38.039
she's like experiencing almost from like Nana's point of view,

1370
01:16:38.039 --> 01:16:42.640
it seems Nana large, of course experience. Oh of course

1371
01:16:43.600 --> 01:16:48.760
I felt for Martha, even though I hate her. Nana

1372
01:16:48.840 --> 01:16:51.720
has stretch marks. She literally looks like she's given birth,

1373
01:16:52.159 --> 01:16:53.920
and when she tries to say this, like like her

1374
01:16:53.960 --> 01:16:56.680
boobs are sore from the milk that she's supposed to

1375
01:16:56.720 --> 01:16:59.800
be fading her baby, and she's written off as crazy.

1376
01:17:00.439 --> 01:17:02.159
She goes to the home and she's like in and

1377
01:17:02.199 --> 01:17:06.239
out of this insane home. Yeah, she starts seeing spirits

1378
01:17:06.319 --> 01:17:10.520
like dead people, but then she yeah, and like I

1379
01:17:10.600 --> 01:17:14.840
just wish that it dove into this. Yeah, like less Martha,

1380
01:17:15.000 --> 01:17:18.520
more of this, I would have loved that. Yeah. Yes,

1381
01:17:19.079 --> 01:17:22.039
So she doesn't want to be seeing these things, dealing

1382
01:17:22.079 --> 01:17:23.840
with this, but she also doesn't want to go back

1383
01:17:23.880 --> 01:17:25.800
to the home, so she tries to cope in her

1384
01:17:25.800 --> 01:17:28.479
own way. She starts going to bars and huades, hooking

1385
01:17:28.560 --> 01:17:32.359
up with men, drinking a ton. She never married, even

1386
01:17:32.399 --> 01:17:35.079
though she has offers multiple offers because she's hot as fuck.

1387
01:17:35.159 --> 01:17:38.600
Probably she can't sleep because when she does, she dreams

1388
01:17:38.640 --> 01:17:41.359
of a baby that she forgot to feed or a

1389
01:17:41.439 --> 01:17:45.079
kid that's cursing her horrible things. Yeah, and she spent

1390
01:17:45.279 --> 01:17:48.439
years like this and I didn't like get into why.

1391
01:17:48.439 --> 01:17:51.800
She finally is like I need to stop something. Something

1392
01:17:52.279 --> 01:17:53.960
happens where she's like, I need to stop and like

1393
01:17:54.039 --> 01:17:58.039
actually start living again, because this isn't living. Yeah. And

1394
01:17:58.119 --> 01:18:02.640
so then finally Martha is herself again in the restaurant.

1395
01:18:02.680 --> 01:18:05.760
She's not seen this through Nana's like point of view anymore.

1396
01:18:06.359 --> 01:18:09.560
And sister Benitte that's says like, okay, it's time, like

1397
01:18:09.640 --> 01:18:11.560
time for us to sing the song that will get

1398
01:18:11.600 --> 01:18:13.960
you guys back home and us back home. But before that,

1399
01:18:14.039 --> 01:18:16.319
she tells Martha that she needs to learn that La

1400
01:18:16.399 --> 01:18:18.479
Vista will never do what she wants them to, that

1401
01:18:18.560 --> 01:18:20.479
it's dangerous and if she's not careful, she can end

1402
01:18:20.560 --> 01:18:23.560
up like Madre Inosenta and we know what happened to her. Yeah,

1403
01:18:23.600 --> 01:18:26.439
And Nana is like, I've decided I want to go

1404
01:18:26.479 --> 01:18:28.960
back to the convent, but she can't because of all

1405
01:18:28.960 --> 01:18:32.760
the rules like of how time traveling now, yeah, like

1406
01:18:32.880 --> 01:18:37.079
Nana and Martha won't exist. Yeah, she goes back and

1407
01:18:37.159 --> 01:18:39.399
Nana said, she's like, why are these rules only apply

1408
01:18:39.520 --> 01:18:42.439
to me? Yeah? And I almost cried for her there

1409
01:18:42.640 --> 01:18:46.399
me too, because I'm like, girl, I feel you. Yeah,

1410
01:18:46.479 --> 01:18:49.159
And sister Beneitta tells her like, I have only like

1411
01:18:49.199 --> 01:18:52.079
I know, I seem like the bad guy gal lady,

1412
01:18:52.680 --> 01:18:55.520
but I only ever wanted to protect my girls, the

1413
01:18:55.760 --> 01:18:59.039
Aquilare members. And then I was like, well what about me,

1414
01:18:59.600 --> 01:19:02.279
and says their sister b Is like I didn't know

1415
01:19:02.319 --> 01:19:04.880
you were one of my girls, and I was like,

1416
01:19:04.920 --> 01:19:07.600
oh my god, that's so sad. I really I really

1417
01:19:07.600 --> 01:19:09.239
do wish like it would have been a little bit

1418
01:19:09.239 --> 01:19:13.199
more fleshed out, like her life there their dynamics. But yeah,

1419
01:19:13.239 --> 01:19:15.720
this was a beautiful scene I think because yeah, sister

1420
01:19:15.800 --> 01:19:21.760
b she didn't do this on purpose either, like yeah, yeah,

1421
01:19:21.800 --> 01:19:25.479
go ahead, yeah, Madnosenta is the one that brought in

1422
01:19:25.560 --> 01:19:31.840
the not to them. Yeah. But also I think even

1423
01:19:31.840 --> 01:19:34.880
if Madeono Centa like it would have happened anyway, because

1424
01:19:34.920 --> 01:19:37.720
they were the ones that have the same gift their

1425
01:19:37.760 --> 01:19:42.399
curse that she has, right and the only ones like

1426
01:19:42.600 --> 01:19:46.680
working with it, really, it seems, and that's what ultimately

1427
01:19:47.159 --> 01:19:50.479
they made. Reno Cente could sensed this in her yeah,

1428
01:19:51.399 --> 01:19:55.399
and so you know, in the end, it wasn't anyone's fault.

1429
01:19:55.479 --> 01:20:01.640
Really except Malonosenta, but honestly La Vista. Yeah, so you

1430
01:20:01.680 --> 01:20:03.439
know this is it was very sad to see them

1431
01:20:03.520 --> 01:20:05.680
like her like, okay, what about me? And then sister

1432
01:20:05.720 --> 01:20:07.520
bes like I didn't know until it was too late,

1433
01:20:07.640 --> 01:20:10.800
and yeah, that's it. Martha then tells Rosa, I'm gonna

1434
01:20:10.800 --> 01:20:13.880
take care of your mom and that's the only good

1435
01:20:13.880 --> 01:20:21.600
thing that Martha has ever said. Oh my god, and

1436
01:20:21.600 --> 01:20:29.479
then their son back to their own time. Once they're back,

1437
01:20:29.560 --> 01:20:32.760
the kitchen is a mess and the allegre has closed

1438
01:20:33.239 --> 01:20:37.039
either talking about La Vista, Nana is like or yeah.

1439
01:20:37.119 --> 01:20:40.600
Nana tells Marta she realizes now that Madre know Santa's

1440
01:20:40.680 --> 01:20:43.560
greed for La Vista brought her to the past and

1441
01:20:43.600 --> 01:20:46.680
that Sister b was just trying her best with what happened,

1442
01:20:47.720 --> 01:20:50.079
trying to get everything back to normal. Yeah, and she

1443
01:20:50.159 --> 01:20:52.439
knows it's not her fault either, because Martha's like, she

1444
01:20:52.439 --> 01:20:54.319
didn't seem that bad, like you made her sound like

1445
01:20:54.359 --> 01:20:56.680
the devil, and She's like, no, I know, I know now,

1446
01:20:56.800 --> 01:20:59.560
like I see it now, and then she Nana tells

1447
01:20:59.600 --> 01:21:01.239
mart that she she sorry for making her go through

1448
01:21:01.279 --> 01:21:05.159
all this, and Martha is like pissed off, because Levista's gone.

1449
01:21:05.600 --> 01:21:08.840
She wanted to use Leviista for her own powers, even

1450
01:21:08.880 --> 01:21:13.520
though she knows that's wrong. Yeah. And then the kids

1451
01:21:13.520 --> 01:21:16.479
and the husband walk in, They're like, wow, where's your

1452
01:21:16.479 --> 01:21:18.439
tooth because apparently Martha lost a tooth and all this

1453
01:21:18.960 --> 01:21:23.359
that was the tooth from earlier. Yes. Yes, and Martha,

1454
01:21:24.000 --> 01:21:25.880
you know, none of this matters to her. She's just

1455
01:21:25.920 --> 01:21:29.239
worried about the Vista being gone, how her relationship is

1456
01:21:29.279 --> 01:21:31.720
going to change to the way it was before. They're

1457
01:21:31.720 --> 01:21:35.800
too busy for each other, and like, immediately this happens.

1458
01:21:35.960 --> 01:21:37.680
I don't know if they had plans or something, but

1459
01:21:37.720 --> 01:21:39.279
I was like, well, I'm gonna be at work late

1460
01:21:39.279 --> 01:21:41.960
by like yeah, And I think he even tells her, like,

1461
01:21:42.000 --> 01:21:47.000
you look different a llure of Leviista's gone. Yeah, yeah,

1462
01:21:47.039 --> 01:21:50.720
And so I mean, honestly, it kind of it's kind

1463
01:21:50.720 --> 01:21:54.560
of messed up. Yeah. Then Martha goes back to work

1464
01:21:54.640 --> 01:21:57.920
and Jackie that's her name, the hospital person, the hospital

1465
01:21:57.960 --> 01:22:01.159
fundraising person. I thought Jackie was one of the workers

1466
01:22:01.199 --> 01:22:04.880
there at the firm. Oh. Martha goes back to work

1467
01:22:04.920 --> 01:22:08.600
and the hospital person there, hospital fundraising person from the

1468
01:22:08.600 --> 01:22:11.920
fundraising event is there at her office and she thanks

1469
01:22:11.960 --> 01:22:15.039
her for changing her mind because just made a huge

1470
01:22:15.079 --> 01:22:18.439
donation to the hospital, and he said like, oh, this

1471
01:22:18.479 --> 01:22:21.079
is because of Martha that I'm making this donation. And

1472
01:22:21.119 --> 01:22:23.680
Martha has like no idea. She's like what say say what?

1473
01:22:24.319 --> 01:22:28.159
Excuse me? Then the woman leaves. Martha runs over to

1474
01:22:28.359 --> 01:22:31.039
her assistant and she's like, what the fuck just happened?

1475
01:22:31.479 --> 01:22:34.800
Where are the recordings that Sophia was supposed to bring us?

1476
01:22:35.159 --> 01:22:39.239
Where's the proof? And Linda's like, well, we got one recording,

1477
01:22:39.800 --> 01:22:45.279
and she's like, because yeah, the recording they received was

1478
01:22:45.399 --> 01:22:48.600
Sophia recording Martha, seeing that she was going to lift

1479
01:22:48.640 --> 01:22:52.920
the curse if she provided the recordings. Martha fucked around

1480
01:22:52.960 --> 01:22:57.439
and found out honestly, she really did and Linda's like,

1481
01:22:58.000 --> 01:23:02.279
why did you do that? Oh? What are you doing? Yeah?

1482
01:23:02.680 --> 01:23:05.880
And Martha's like, I'm sorry, it wasn't myself. It wass

1483
01:23:06.760 --> 01:23:10.880
She really wasn't herself. And also because Linda's like why

1484
01:23:10.880 --> 01:23:12.920
did you do that? Like you're so lucky that she

1485
01:23:12.960 --> 01:23:16.079
didn't go complaint to the bar, like what are you doing? Yeah?

1486
01:23:16.359 --> 01:23:19.159
But Sophia walks in after that and then she's like,

1487
01:23:20.039 --> 01:23:22.479
I don't know, I don't remember what happens with the

1488
01:23:22.560 --> 01:23:25.439
curse talk, but she does say she'll rejoin the case,

1489
01:23:26.920 --> 01:23:31.560
so in the end is kind of what Martha wanted. Yeah,

1490
01:23:31.720 --> 01:23:35.520
but she's like embarrassed because it's so embarrassing to be like,

1491
01:23:35.640 --> 01:23:42.720
why did you do that? Wouldn't tell her? What did

1492
01:23:42.760 --> 01:23:44.439
you make her think that you cursed her? And then

1493
01:23:44.439 --> 01:23:49.920
you're like, I'll lift the curse. It's right her. Uh.

1494
01:23:50.039 --> 01:23:52.760
Then Martha goes to Sea, who's like worried about her.

1495
01:23:52.840 --> 01:23:54.880
She's like, I don't know what's going on with you,

1496
01:23:54.920 --> 01:23:57.199
Like I'm worried. Martha tells her like, you know, I'm

1497
01:23:57.279 --> 01:23:59.119
kind of glad that Lista's gone because I did something

1498
01:23:59.199 --> 01:24:01.720
dumb at work because of it. Martha's like, it's not gone,

1499
01:24:01.800 --> 01:24:04.399
or Nana tells her it's not gone, and then she's

1500
01:24:04.439 --> 01:24:06.800
like sorry, and she's sorry because she's on her way,

1501
01:24:06.920 --> 01:24:11.319
and I was like what who? And then Nana tells

1502
01:24:11.319 --> 01:24:13.239
Martha like I did want to see Drossade again, but

1503
01:24:13.239 --> 01:24:15.880
I wanted to meet her too. Martha's like meet who?

1504
01:24:16.000 --> 01:24:17.960
And then it was like your daughter and then Martha

1505
01:24:18.279 --> 01:24:22.119
is like, I'm too old. And Martha now realizes that

1506
01:24:22.159 --> 01:24:24.920
the dark haired girl she has been seeing it's her,

1507
01:24:27.000 --> 01:24:30.640
and I'm like, when did she see a girl? I

1508
01:24:30.640 --> 01:24:34.560
don't remember this at all. I don't remember when it happens,

1509
01:24:34.640 --> 01:24:36.520
and I don't know if it's like a dream or what.

1510
01:24:36.720 --> 01:24:40.239
I don't remember. Well, I don't, like, I don't remember

1511
01:24:40.279 --> 01:24:42.479
this at Allso I take and I even message you

1512
01:24:42.680 --> 01:24:44.640
as I was finishing the book, and I was like,

1513
01:24:46.079 --> 01:24:50.159
I'm so confused about the end. Yeah, yeah, I remember

1514
01:24:50.159 --> 01:24:52.800
when she sees that girl, though, but I don't think

1515
01:24:52.880 --> 01:24:58.840
it was clear you honestly don't care. Yeah, that's how

1516
01:24:58.880 --> 01:25:02.520
it ends, right, Like that is the end, her telling

1517
01:25:02.520 --> 01:25:05.800
her this and basically Nana saying you're not Lavisa's not

1518
01:25:05.840 --> 01:25:08.079
done with you, like it brought you a baby basically,

1519
01:25:09.439 --> 01:25:12.000
And I don't know how I feel about that. There's

1520
01:25:12.039 --> 01:25:18.720
nothing more than and fucking surprise pregnancy. And you know what,

1521
01:25:18.760 --> 01:25:20.680
like at the end of a romance, whatever it is

1522
01:25:20.720 --> 01:25:23.800
expected is it's still annoying. Yes here, I'm like, what

1523
01:25:23.880 --> 01:25:26.680
is the point? I guess like that the magic continues.

1524
01:25:27.520 --> 01:25:31.279
It's like maybe because she only had boys again, right,

1525
01:25:31.640 --> 01:25:35.560
and someone needed to continue in this line of to

1526
01:25:35.560 --> 01:25:38.680
pass it on in the family. I think maybe that's

1527
01:25:38.680 --> 01:25:42.119
why Lavista came back. Probably to make sure she got pregnant. Really,

1528
01:25:42.119 --> 01:25:47.119
Martha has cousins, surely one of them has a daughter. Well,

1529
01:25:47.199 --> 01:25:52.800
Nana didn't have kids. What Nana didn't have kids? That's

1530
01:25:52.840 --> 01:25:55.199
on this power, is what you're saying. But Rosa in

1531
01:25:55.279 --> 01:25:58.439
her own timeline goes on to have kids. Right. But

1532
01:25:59.800 --> 01:26:02.920
my I'm confused. Yeah, you I don't know what you're saying,

1533
01:26:03.680 --> 01:26:05.600
because like I feel like the what you're saying makes

1534
01:26:05.640 --> 01:26:09.680
it seem like it can only be through Nana. Sorry, Nana.

1535
01:26:10.079 --> 01:26:16.520
H Nana's like actual, Like I guess you would call it. Well,

1536
01:26:16.560 --> 01:26:18.800
that's what I thought. By the end of this book.

1537
01:26:18.800 --> 01:26:24.119
That is her great niece, Okay, her grand daughter. So

1538
01:26:24.199 --> 01:26:27.359
I'm like, surely there's other women in the family that

1539
01:26:27.680 --> 01:26:31.560
also had this magic is yeah thinking, so what was

1540
01:26:31.600 --> 01:26:35.079
the point of this? I don't understand, right, But then

1541
01:26:35.359 --> 01:26:39.840
how is Rosa hold On related to her? Because the

1542
01:26:40.079 --> 01:26:48.159
sister Menda tells her Rosa is Nana's daughter. Yeah, but like,

1543
01:26:48.439 --> 01:26:50.920
I don't know, she tells her she cannot say in

1544
01:26:50.920 --> 01:26:55.760
the past because Rosa is her speaking to Martha, Rosa

1545
01:26:55.840 --> 01:27:01.520
is her grandmother's mother's mother's mother. How does that make sense?

1546
01:27:02.000 --> 01:27:03.600
I don't know. I don't know. I don't want to

1547
01:27:03.600 --> 01:27:05.720
think about it. I'm over it. I'm over it. I

1548
01:27:05.720 --> 01:27:08.319
do want to get into you have anything to say

1549
01:27:08.359 --> 01:27:13.199
before you exist discussion questions, because again I don't care.

1550
01:27:14.960 --> 01:27:17.640
I'm over it. I'm over it. I don't understand how

1551
01:27:17.680 --> 01:27:22.000
they'ref iking related, and I'm tired of thinking about it

1552
01:27:22.119 --> 01:27:27.159
because I hate Martha. I just want to find it out.

1553
01:27:28.399 --> 01:27:30.800
I don't know what she sees this baby. I don't know.

1554
01:27:31.199 --> 01:27:35.520
I don't remember that either. Okay, you're right, it doesn't matter, Okay,

1555
01:27:35.960 --> 01:27:39.479
all right, First, a couple listener, Oh, I'm joining. A

1556
01:27:39.520 --> 01:27:42.439
few messages we got. That was just like, I loved it,

1557
01:27:42.600 --> 01:27:44.720
the timelines, the witches, I loved all of it. That

1558
01:27:44.880 --> 01:27:48.880
was one sentiment. Another sentiment was no one answered the questions.

1559
01:27:48.920 --> 01:27:50.840
They just gave their final thoughts. I like that. I'll

1560
01:27:50.840 --> 01:27:54.840
take that. Yeah, me too, I'll take anything. Yeah. I

1561
01:27:54.880 --> 01:27:57.239
think the structure was a bit jarring, so it's hard

1562
01:27:57.239 --> 01:28:00.319
to get a rhythm like physically reading it was the

1563
01:28:00.359 --> 01:28:06.600
other sentiment that was, like, the switches between the timelines

1564
01:28:06.680 --> 01:28:11.520
were not smooth enough. Yeah. And that was like the

1565
01:28:11.520 --> 01:28:14.239
feedback on this book, people who loved it or didn't

1566
01:28:14.479 --> 01:28:22.239
really care for it because of the way it was written. Yeah.

1567
01:28:22.279 --> 01:28:23.720
Do we share our thoughts now or do you want

1568
01:28:23.720 --> 01:28:26.119
to answer the questions first? Let's took the questions first.

1569
01:28:26.199 --> 01:28:30.439
I think that makes sense. Yeah, yeah, okay, So question

1570
01:28:30.520 --> 01:28:32.760
number one. This book is set in at Paso, but

1571
01:28:32.840 --> 01:28:36.359
in different time periods. It touches on al Paso's proximity

1572
01:28:36.359 --> 01:28:39.359
to Huades, discussing a time when there was no border

1573
01:28:39.439 --> 01:28:41.760
and a time after. Do you think this story could

1574
01:28:41.800 --> 01:28:45.279
be set in another location and still maintain maintain the

1575
01:28:45.319 --> 01:28:48.039
same meaning or was the central to the story. Maybe

1576
01:28:48.079 --> 01:28:50.680
if it happened in another border town that's similar, I

1577
01:28:50.680 --> 01:28:53.880
think you could have the same meaning. But just something

1578
01:28:53.880 --> 01:28:58.680
about Apasso and the Pozo's rich history. I just don't

1579
01:28:58.680 --> 01:29:01.279
see it happening in San Diego, Tijuana. You're right, No,

1580
01:29:01.359 --> 01:29:03.920
you're right. I take back mands. I think the only

1581
01:29:03.960 --> 01:29:08.279
places could happen is El Paso. Yeah. Yeah. And something

1582
01:29:08.319 --> 01:29:10.680
I was reading about the author, he says, like el

1583
01:29:10.680 --> 01:29:13.319
Paso itself has a lot of meaning, like it's a

1584
01:29:13.359 --> 01:29:16.520
passing and they're passing. This is the name from one

1585
01:29:17.760 --> 01:29:22.119
because of the name. Yeah, yeah, so like even the

1586
01:29:22.199 --> 01:29:25.560
name El Paso is like central to the story. I

1587
01:29:25.600 --> 01:29:27.960
hadn't thought of that part part of it, but that's true. Yeah,

1588
01:29:27.960 --> 01:29:30.079
I don't think. Yeah, I don't think it would have

1589
01:29:30.119 --> 01:29:33.680
been the same anywhere else. No, No, I don't think. So.

1590
01:29:33.920 --> 01:29:37.840
I loved reading about El Paso in the Colonial Times

1591
01:29:37.920 --> 01:29:40.560
and al Paso and what was it the fifteen world

1592
01:29:40.640 --> 01:29:43.560
or two forty forty, Yeah, and even after because you know,

1593
01:29:43.720 --> 01:29:45.880
we didn't really get into it. But it also talks

1594
01:29:45.920 --> 01:29:51.720
about Nana becoming an adult or her sister's becoming adults,

1595
01:29:52.159 --> 01:29:55.199
more grown up adults. I mean the restaurant that she owned.

1596
01:29:55.199 --> 01:29:58.960
One of them became like that wasn't a politician, but

1597
01:29:59.039 --> 01:30:03.359
something like that, the first Mexican woman to do something

1598
01:30:03.399 --> 01:30:05.920
I don't remember what it was, Democrats something, it was

1599
01:30:05.960 --> 01:30:08.560
like something political, right, So that was like super interesting

1600
01:30:08.600 --> 01:30:13.520
to read about, and again really shows the contrast between

1601
01:30:13.760 --> 01:30:19.680
the three sisters and really displays how different Nana is too.

1602
01:30:19.680 --> 01:30:23.680
And I became of the neighborhood, yes, yeah, and they

1603
01:30:23.680 --> 01:30:26.840
think she's crazy for it, but it serves its purpose,

1604
01:30:27.560 --> 01:30:32.359
you know, she still serves her community. Yeah yeah, kept

1605
01:30:32.359 --> 01:30:37.000
the rich traditions going, just like they did in different ways.

1606
01:30:37.520 --> 01:30:40.800
Yeah yeah. And so in the end, they all were

1607
01:30:40.880 --> 01:30:44.319
similar but they didn't see it again, Yeah, they really

1608
01:30:44.359 --> 01:30:47.520
thought they were better than and then I don't know. Yeah, yeah,

1609
01:30:48.399 --> 01:30:52.680
all right, what did you think of Martha? I'm sorry, okay, sorry,

1610
01:30:52.720 --> 01:30:58.399
let me just already shared our thoughts. What did you

1611
01:30:58.399 --> 01:31:00.680
think of Martha? Did she make any decisions that you

1612
01:31:00.720 --> 01:31:03.560
didn't agree with? Would you have something done something different?

1613
01:31:05.560 --> 01:31:13.880
Fuck Martha, she's just agnorted, she's annoying of done everything differently.

1614
01:31:13.920 --> 01:31:21.119
I didn't agree with anything that she did. Because of

1615
01:31:21.159 --> 01:31:23.640
who we are, I think we would have immediately jumped

1616
01:31:23.680 --> 01:31:26.960
in with whatever Nana was saying. Like you said, you

1617
01:31:27.239 --> 01:31:29.079
had a daughter in the past, let's go get her

1618
01:31:30.800 --> 01:31:33.760
a bah, you say, let's make it right now, let's

1619
01:31:33.800 --> 01:31:37.159
streak it. I don't care what it's made of, animals,

1620
01:31:40.279 --> 01:31:45.479
animals in the Okay, yeah yeah, but I could see

1621
01:31:45.520 --> 01:31:53.399
how someone logic rational and annoying. I understand the point

1622
01:31:54.239 --> 01:31:58.600
of Martha's character. I don't think it was necessary. I

1623
01:31:58.640 --> 01:32:01.600
think I would have preferred instead of just switching back

1624
01:32:01.640 --> 01:32:05.760
and forth, maybe like following Nana's journey, or maybe it

1625
01:32:05.760 --> 01:32:08.880
could have been gone in forces yout me, since you're

1626
01:32:08.880 --> 01:32:10.800
doing this right now, I think it would have been

1627
01:32:10.840 --> 01:32:14.319
better to go through all of Nana's life in the convent, everything,

1628
01:32:14.680 --> 01:32:19.039
and then her getting back to her sisters them throwing

1629
01:32:19.079 --> 01:32:21.359
her like dismissing her as being crazy, all the trouble

1630
01:32:21.399 --> 01:32:24.960
she went through, basically all of Nena until she goes

1631
01:32:24.960 --> 01:32:27.640
to Martha, and then we like learn very little about Martha,

1632
01:32:27.800 --> 01:32:31.079
the least amount impossible. I was going to say, like,

1633
01:32:31.079 --> 01:32:35.640
I don't. I think for me, the time jumping was fine.

1634
01:32:36.279 --> 01:32:39.840
The point of view switched with Martha, Like I think

1635
01:32:39.880 --> 01:32:42.159
we could have jumped back and forth in time, but

1636
01:32:42.279 --> 01:32:46.039
kept Nana's point of view or perspective, you know what

1637
01:32:46.039 --> 01:32:50.000
I mean. And then Martha chrisover purpose in helping her

1638
01:32:50.119 --> 01:32:53.840
write like she did. But I didn't need to know Marta. Yeah,

1639
01:32:53.880 --> 01:32:57.119
And at the end of it all, I do understand,

1640
01:32:57.479 --> 01:33:00.359
like you're saying, Martha's purpose. Her purpose is to serve

1641
01:33:00.720 --> 01:33:04.640
as the opposite of Nana in their belief systems, in

1642
01:33:04.920 --> 01:33:08.920
their way of being in there, what drives them what,

1643
01:33:09.720 --> 01:33:13.640
you know, they're completely different people and that's her role here, right,

1644
01:33:13.800 --> 01:33:16.720
how because how would it be if Nana had so

1645
01:33:16.760 --> 01:33:21.720
many exactly life I remember something, yeah, English class, right,

1646
01:33:21.960 --> 01:33:24.560
that is her purpose? And also I need to show

1647
01:33:24.640 --> 01:33:28.000
us like how would this affects someone who's this driven

1648
01:33:28.680 --> 01:33:33.479
into their work this, you know, so I understand look

1649
01:33:33.479 --> 01:33:37.560
at that. I understand it, but I don't like her.

1650
01:33:37.800 --> 01:33:42.119
Oh I understand it. I don't respect that. Yeah. Yeah,

1651
01:33:42.760 --> 01:33:46.239
and yeah, like we were saying, I would have completely

1652
01:33:46.479 --> 01:33:49.760
been like, let's do this, Nana. I believe you. Yeah

1653
01:33:49.840 --> 01:33:53.640
because I because we're also crazy. So m h. It's

1654
01:33:53.680 --> 01:33:56.359
like that a meme where she's like, what is she

1655
01:33:56.439 --> 01:33:57.960
doing at the grocery store. She's like, oh my god,

1656
01:33:57.960 --> 01:34:00.399
I'm so crazy, and it's like them double sis, that's

1657
01:34:00.399 --> 01:34:05.479
the grocery store. Yeah. I just realized that question number

1658
01:34:05.520 --> 01:34:09.520
four is kind of similar to this one. Now the

1659
01:34:09.560 --> 01:34:13.000
next one, number three, but oh you want to read

1660
01:34:13.000 --> 01:34:17.119
this one. Yeah. The story is multi generational through Martha,

1661
01:34:17.319 --> 01:34:19.600
a lawyer in her forties and then now her ninety

1662
01:34:19.600 --> 01:34:22.960
three year old aunt, but we get multiple timelines. Oh wait,

1663
01:34:23.000 --> 01:34:24.880
this kind of is similar. Anyway, How did you feel

1664
01:34:24.880 --> 01:34:27.640
about this? Did you want more from certain characters? Did

1665
01:34:27.680 --> 01:34:30.880
it add to the complexity or confusion of the plot?

1666
01:34:31.079 --> 01:34:33.479
Like I said, we actually did kind of go into it.

1667
01:34:33.720 --> 01:34:36.399
I wanted literally all of Nema and yeah, and like

1668
01:34:36.439 --> 01:34:41.079
I said, I didn't mind the past and the present timeline,

1669
01:34:41.399 --> 01:34:44.439
but I could have used less of Martha. Martha's inner

1670
01:34:44.479 --> 01:34:47.279
monologues and thoughts like I didn't really like that. I

1671
01:34:47.279 --> 01:34:49.159
think we could didn't care about our kids. I didn't

1672
01:34:49.159 --> 01:34:51.800
care about her husband. Yeah, yeah, I didn't care. It

1673
01:34:51.840 --> 01:34:53.960
would have been better if she meant some random guy

1674
01:34:54.039 --> 01:34:56.279
and started doing him because of how rabbinish she was

1675
01:34:56.319 --> 01:34:58.399
because our labistan than her husband, Like that would have

1676
01:34:58.399 --> 01:35:04.920
been like fuck whole that. I would have actually kind

1677
01:35:04.920 --> 01:35:10.800
of liked her more. But then she was been pregnant

1678
01:35:10.800 --> 01:35:13.319
with someone else's guy. That's kind of life. I mean,

1679
01:35:13.319 --> 01:35:17.039
you're right, else's kid, not guy on Yeah, yeah, okay,

1680
01:35:17.159 --> 01:35:22.399
so yeah. We follow the book through Nana and Martha

1681
01:35:22.520 --> 01:35:26.680
in different times, and both of them encountered Leavista. So

1682
01:35:26.800 --> 01:35:28.960
did other people. Do you think the time periods they

1683
01:35:29.000 --> 01:35:32.119
were in changed the way they interacted with Levista? I do,

1684
01:35:32.520 --> 01:35:37.399
because I hadn't really thinen this. So Martha's in the future,

1685
01:35:37.640 --> 01:35:40.079
She's in the now right now. It's a little more

1686
01:35:40.119 --> 01:35:42.319
accessible for women to be the way she is more

1687
01:35:42.720 --> 01:35:45.760
because you know, even like her husband's mom talks about

1688
01:35:45.760 --> 01:35:47.760
her like you look to athletic. I'm like, damn, girls,

1689
01:35:47.800 --> 01:35:51.840
that's true, and you know what, fuck her. Yes, yeah,

1690
01:35:52.039 --> 01:35:55.439
I was aside from ones for once, just that moment.

1691
01:35:56.880 --> 01:36:00.279
Let me be clear, just that moment. But you know Martha. Yeah,

1692
01:36:01.600 --> 01:36:03.680
and the way society, even though it's nothing that is

1693
01:36:03.680 --> 01:36:06.640
perfect right now, but the world that Martha is in

1694
01:36:06.760 --> 01:36:10.800
now allows her to be who she is. I mean,

1695
01:36:10.800 --> 01:36:15.680
she's a lawyer. Yeah, she's a work which is working mama. Yeah,

1696
01:36:16.399 --> 01:36:21.680
she is a leader. Yeah, she likes insulting her clients.

1697
01:36:22.840 --> 01:36:26.720
She's a bitch, and that's more acceptable even though it's

1698
01:36:26.720 --> 01:36:30.239
still not there. But it's different than in Nana's own time,

1699
01:36:30.840 --> 01:36:35.399
and even the women in the past imagine the colonial times. Yeah,

1700
01:36:35.439 --> 01:36:38.520
who encountered Laviista. They were like limited with what they

1701
01:36:39.000 --> 01:36:42.720
could do. But also La Bista itself is limiting, but

1702
01:36:42.800 --> 01:36:45.199
nobody knows it until they have someone telling them, like,

1703
01:36:45.239 --> 01:36:47.319
you really can't be doing this with Labista. Yeah right,

1704
01:36:47.760 --> 01:36:50.399
But like the woman in the past, look at what

1705
01:36:50.399 --> 01:36:53.720
happened to Marino Centa, the rest of them, what they're

1706
01:36:53.800 --> 01:36:58.640
just like healing people with it. Really, Nana kind of

1707
01:36:58.880 --> 01:37:01.439
also becomes that kind of person healing other people with it.

1708
01:37:01.479 --> 01:37:05.640
And Marta is almost very made no senta, like if

1709
01:37:05.680 --> 01:37:08.359
she hadn't stopped or if she didn't have Nana, I

1710
01:37:08.359 --> 01:37:10.600
think she would have ended up like Maderino Senta. I

1711
01:37:10.600 --> 01:37:21.520
think you're right. Yeah, so interesting. Yeah, sorry, this next one,

1712
01:37:21.560 --> 01:37:23.800
there are all the questions like were so similar because

1713
01:37:23.800 --> 01:37:25.680
I couldn't think of any and there was none out there,

1714
01:37:25.800 --> 01:37:29.840
so my bad. Anyway, Lawista just did what it wanted.

1715
01:37:30.239 --> 01:37:32.960
What did you think of the different characters interactions with it?

1716
01:37:33.000 --> 01:37:37.560
Because Madarino, Senta, Sister, Benedicta, Emiliano, they all come in

1717
01:37:37.640 --> 01:37:42.039
touch with it. Yeah, and what did what do you

1718
01:37:42.039 --> 01:37:44.479
think you would have done with Labista? I have like

1719
01:37:44.520 --> 01:37:48.720
a little like side question with this, Yeah, what did

1720
01:37:48.720 --> 01:37:55.319
you think of like Laviista as a magical system overall? Oh, honestly,

1721
01:37:55.439 --> 01:38:02.600
it kind of makes no sense, Like no, you know what, No,

1722
01:38:02.920 --> 01:38:07.520
it does, like I mean like questioning myself in real time,

1723
01:38:07.640 --> 01:38:09.720
like sometimes it happens like when we have like these

1724
01:38:09.800 --> 01:38:11.640
episodes and where like as we retired, we're like wait

1725
01:38:12.840 --> 01:38:16.199
wait no, That's why I love these because now that

1726
01:38:16.239 --> 01:38:18.840
I think about it, Yeah, like what do you mean

1727
01:38:18.880 --> 01:38:22.199
you can control this? You can't, Like it's nature. It's

1728
01:38:22.239 --> 01:38:25.920
like nature and you can't control nature. It's this all magical,

1729
01:38:26.000 --> 01:38:29.880
powerful thing, and why would you as a person, as

1730
01:38:29.880 --> 01:38:32.079
a human be able to control it? Like, why would

1731
01:38:32.119 --> 01:38:34.479
you have this gift and power? Like it just comes

1732
01:38:34.479 --> 01:38:36.119
in towards as it wants. It does what it wants.

1733
01:38:36.199 --> 01:38:38.640
You can use it a little bit, but not too much.

1734
01:38:38.880 --> 01:38:44.439
So yeah, honestly, like that's why Mademulcente fucking got fucked up,

1735
01:38:44.520 --> 01:38:47.079
like funck to shit up. Yeah, that's too much for

1736
01:38:47.119 --> 01:38:51.079
her sister Benedicta and the others of Kenya, they're all

1737
01:38:51.119 --> 01:38:54.039
respectful with it. They all like it's scary. It's a

1738
01:38:54.079 --> 01:38:57.600
scary thing to be this strong, and so they know,

1739
01:38:57.840 --> 01:39:01.239
like we can't fully be an it, like unlike my

1740
01:39:01.319 --> 01:39:04.399
Lino sent them. Yeah, and and Mediano knows of it too,

1741
01:39:04.520 --> 01:39:06.720
and it's like this magical thing. And I don't know

1742
01:39:06.720 --> 01:39:11.439
if that plays into him wanting to be with Nan

1743
01:39:11.479 --> 01:39:13.479
not in the first place. And then maybe it's wheary

1744
01:39:13.560 --> 01:39:16.720
now that doesn't no longer, he doesn't have the strength

1745
01:39:16.720 --> 01:39:19.760
anymore to like go off with her. I hadn't thought that. Yeah,

1746
01:39:19.760 --> 01:39:23.960
it could be true. It could be. Eya changed her

1747
01:39:24.000 --> 01:39:26.439
ways because of Leista, even though it fucking bucks her

1748
01:39:26.439 --> 01:39:30.960
shit up her. She became a better person yeah, yeah,

1749
01:39:31.239 --> 01:39:39.039
I agree with your everything. Yeah, I love the depiction

1750
01:39:39.279 --> 01:39:45.199
of Labista. I thought it was a powerful way to

1751
01:39:45.239 --> 01:39:49.279
depict magic, like as a force of nature, even with

1752
01:39:49.319 --> 01:39:53.600
the animals that are involved in everything. Yeah, dude, that's that.

1753
01:39:53.960 --> 01:39:56.800
Imagine seeing that shit, just animals are throwing themselves so

1754
01:39:56.840 --> 01:39:58.800
their death in this fucking pot so that you can

1755
01:39:58.880 --> 01:40:04.920
drink it later. Powerful. So yeah, I don't. I honestly,

1756
01:40:07.039 --> 01:40:09.079
I don't know. I'm not like a driven ass fucking

1757
01:40:10.079 --> 01:40:13.119
person like Martham, so I don't think I would be

1758
01:40:13.239 --> 01:40:16.600
like her with Lewista. I don't think so either. Honestly,

1759
01:40:17.319 --> 01:40:22.479
I think because I have a respectful fear of these things. Honestly,

1760
01:40:22.479 --> 01:40:25.760
I don't think I would even touch it. I had

1761
01:40:25.840 --> 01:40:29.079
someone like why, like Nana helped. Unless Nana was with me,

1762
01:40:29.880 --> 01:40:34.840
I could do anything. Same same, Yeah, but definitely I

1763
01:40:34.840 --> 01:40:36.159
don't think I would try to use it for my

1764
01:40:36.199 --> 01:40:38.600
own gain or like whatever. Like there's a reason, no,

1765
01:40:39.399 --> 01:40:41.880
you know, yeah, yeah, there's a reason. I'm not in

1766
01:40:41.920 --> 01:40:46.439
corporate America and I'm actually kind of poor. Okay, Yeah, yeah,

1767
01:40:46.479 --> 01:40:52.279
I'm not. I'm not built for corporate America either. No. Yeah,

1768
01:40:52.960 --> 01:40:55.000
were you satisfied with the books outcome or did you

1769
01:40:55.039 --> 01:40:58.920
have questions things that were left unanswered. I don't know

1770
01:40:58.960 --> 01:41:01.279
how was satisfied, because again, and like the whole miracle

1771
01:41:01.319 --> 01:41:05.840
pregnancy at forty fucking five, however fucking old, she is bullshit.

1772
01:41:07.760 --> 01:41:09.800
I don't know if I like that. I think once

1773
01:41:09.840 --> 01:41:13.520
you're talking about like, oh, because this is like that,

1774
01:41:13.760 --> 01:41:15.880
I don't like the magic's gonna keep happening because she

1775
01:41:15.880 --> 01:41:18.439
doesn't have any daughters or whatever, like I understand it

1776
01:41:18.479 --> 01:41:22.680
in that sense. I don't know if it was beast.

1777
01:41:22.760 --> 01:41:25.359
I just want to keep itself going. Yeah, it doesn't

1778
01:41:25.399 --> 01:41:28.079
care about them. It's just like who is gonna see

1779
01:41:28.079 --> 01:41:31.439
me now if no one else is here? Yeah, so

1780
01:41:32.000 --> 01:41:34.600
I think that's why it happened, But I don't care

1781
01:41:34.640 --> 01:41:36.479
for I didn't care for it either, because no, I

1782
01:41:36.520 --> 01:41:42.000
didn't care for it. Also the law soup, Oh yeah,

1783
01:41:42.000 --> 01:41:44.079
I forgot how it what happened with the law soup.

1784
01:41:44.159 --> 01:41:49.560
I think there should have. I don't know if there

1785
01:41:49.560 --> 01:41:51.880
should be an ending to it or not, like A yeah,

1786
01:41:52.000 --> 01:41:56.319
because I didn't care because again I didn't care about Martha. Yeah,

1787
01:41:57.079 --> 01:42:01.239
I'm sure she won and I understand why Rosa. Yeah,

1788
01:42:01.279 --> 01:42:04.640
she probably did. She's driven. She probably did. Yeah, but

1789
01:42:04.680 --> 01:42:08.319
I just I wish Rosa and I maybe had more

1790
01:42:08.359 --> 01:42:12.039
time together. I don't know, I understand why they didn't. Actually,

1791
01:42:12.199 --> 01:42:16.039
I feel like emotionally I did want them to spend

1792
01:42:16.039 --> 01:42:18.560
more time together, but logically I understand why they couldn't.

1793
01:42:18.600 --> 01:42:19.960
You know, they had to go back because it's the

1794
01:42:20.000 --> 01:42:25.399
whole dimension whatever time thing. Yeah, and I felt like

1795
01:42:25.439 --> 01:42:28.079
that piece was kind of like answered like I wasn't

1796
01:42:28.119 --> 01:42:31.399
confused about that, no, it was yeah, yeah, I just

1797
01:42:31.479 --> 01:42:34.199
wanted them to have each other longer because it was

1798
01:42:34.239 --> 01:42:39.800
so sad. Yeah, yeah, all right, last question before the reading.

1799
01:42:40.359 --> 01:42:43.800
The main characters of the book were all women. What

1800
01:42:43.960 --> 01:42:46.039
did you think of the men in the story on

1801
01:42:46.159 --> 01:42:49.800
how they were depicted? They all kind of sucked tall,

1802
01:42:50.279 --> 01:42:53.399
like in different ways. Like we have father Duda whatever

1803
01:42:53.439 --> 01:42:56.119
his name was, who's out here abusing the girls of

1804
01:42:56.159 --> 01:43:02.600
the convent yep. I liked how he died. Yeah, I

1805
01:43:02.720 --> 01:43:06.560
even mentioned that. Yeah, no, I thought you did. Said

1806
01:43:06.560 --> 01:43:08.319
he got sick. I said, he gets sick, but yeah,

1807
01:43:08.319 --> 01:43:11.239
here's a horrible death from the aness. Yeah yeah, that

1808
01:43:11.319 --> 01:43:15.319
gets except the people that got saved with the backet. Yeah, yeah,

1809
01:43:15.600 --> 01:43:22.520
Emiliano sucked. His dad sucked. Sucked. Alexandro sucks. He sucks

1810
01:43:22.560 --> 01:43:26.079
the less out of them, but he's still, like we

1811
01:43:26.159 --> 01:43:28.319
see it through Martha that he cares more about his

1812
01:43:28.319 --> 01:43:32.199
own career. She even as himself and his career more

1813
01:43:32.239 --> 01:43:35.960
than Martha, and yeah career, yeah, yeah, she even like

1814
01:43:36.039 --> 01:43:38.279
mentions like before meeting him, she was on track to

1815
01:43:38.439 --> 01:43:42.119
like me a prestigious lawyer and maybe one they even

1816
01:43:42.359 --> 01:43:45.279
be at the Supreme Court. Right, And when she brings

1817
01:43:45.279 --> 01:43:47.439
that up again, like wanting to do that, he's he

1818
01:43:47.680 --> 01:43:52.119
like he's like thought, let go. Yeah, you know what

1819
01:43:52.199 --> 01:43:54.479
My issue with the pregnancy is like they already have

1820
01:43:54.600 --> 01:43:59.039
this dynamic right where, yeah, he's the one, his work

1821
01:43:59.119 --> 01:44:03.239
is valued more than hers. He already is like that

1822
01:44:03.960 --> 01:44:07.319
typical depiction of fathers that we see where they're kind

1823
01:44:07.319 --> 01:44:12.399
of leave everything up to the mom. Not the worst

1824
01:44:12.520 --> 01:44:14.920
kind of dad that we've seen, because again he still

1825
01:44:15.119 --> 01:44:18.399
does things in the home, yeah, with the kid. But

1826
01:44:18.439 --> 01:44:21.079
they're already kind of had the dynamic and this is

1827
01:44:21.079 --> 01:44:24.159
just gonna get worse with the new baby, you know, right,

1828
01:44:24.560 --> 01:44:29.760
yeah and another old yeah yeah, but yeah, I think

1829
01:44:29.760 --> 01:44:32.800
the men were purposely written to be like trash. Yeah yeah,

1830
01:44:32.920 --> 01:44:36.079
me too, I think yeah, yeah, not a single good man. Well,

1831
01:44:36.159 --> 01:44:39.960
Nana's dad. I don't remember anything about him. Yeah, I

1832
01:44:40.000 --> 01:44:43.039
don't think. I don't remember anything too bad about him.

1833
01:44:43.399 --> 01:44:46.479
Just I remember that he got sick or injured or something.

1834
01:44:46.479 --> 01:44:50.439
He couldn't worry. That's right, that's right, And then play

1835
01:44:50.880 --> 01:44:53.079
and the mom dies, right or something. I don't remember

1836
01:44:53.079 --> 01:44:55.600
the mom dying. I only remember that he was sick,

1837
01:44:56.399 --> 01:45:00.600
and well they're both dead when we meet Nana. Yeah, sisters,

1838
01:45:01.159 --> 01:45:03.359
I don't remember what happened on there. Yeah, but I

1839
01:45:03.359 --> 01:45:06.199
want to say he was probably the best man in

1840
01:45:06.199 --> 01:45:09.239
the book. Okay, Wow, I don't remember him at all,

1841
01:45:09.319 --> 01:45:16.039
So he didn't make my recap, he did it? Okay, Okay,

1842
01:45:16.439 --> 01:45:19.319
what do you rate the book? Well, I don't remember.

1843
01:45:19.399 --> 01:45:24.279
Let me check my StoryGraph. Oh I don't remember either. Okay.

1844
01:45:24.359 --> 01:45:28.000
I rate it three point seventy five interesting, which now

1845
01:45:28.000 --> 01:45:29.520
it feels more like three and a half for me.

1846
01:45:30.039 --> 01:45:41.479
But what's gone down? Because I because I'm at them,

1847
01:45:41.800 --> 01:45:43.319
I'll leave it. I'll leave alone because that's how I

1848
01:45:43.319 --> 01:45:46.800
saw at the time. Whatever, because I just love Nana.

1849
01:45:47.560 --> 01:45:49.680
It was not it's not a bad book. I don't

1850
01:45:49.680 --> 01:45:51.920
think it's bad. I think I would recommend it were

1851
01:45:51.920 --> 01:45:54.319
there things that I wish were fleshed out more. Were

1852
01:45:54.359 --> 01:45:57.399
there things that I wish were less focused on? Yeah,

1853
01:45:57.920 --> 01:46:00.199
But I think overall it was an interesting read. Was

1854
01:46:00.279 --> 01:46:03.479
bored reading it kept me hooked again. I love Nana.

1855
01:46:03.520 --> 01:46:05.960
I wish Nana was my dea. So yeah, three point

1856
01:46:06.000 --> 01:46:11.079
seventy five. Did I not rate it? I can't even

1857
01:46:11.119 --> 01:46:15.520
find it well? Rate it on the spot? Well, I

1858
01:46:15.520 --> 01:46:17.640
want to say I wrote anything about it. Oh wait,

1859
01:46:17.720 --> 01:46:19.520
let me see if I wrote something. I don't really

1860
01:46:19.520 --> 01:46:22.119
write reviews, but when i'm you know, when you enter

1861
01:46:22.680 --> 01:46:25.039
the pages that you read, it has a little section

1862
01:46:25.079 --> 01:46:27.800
where you can write notes. Yeah, I think I wrote

1863
01:46:27.840 --> 01:46:29.399
some stuff there, but I think it's everything I kind

1864
01:46:29.399 --> 01:46:34.760
of said. Okay, I wrote. I gave it four stars, okay,

1865
01:46:35.000 --> 01:46:38.039
and I wrote beautifully written. Though I found myself more

1866
01:46:38.119 --> 01:46:42.439
invested in nana story in the past than Martha's. And

1867
01:46:42.640 --> 01:46:47.119
I love a multi generational story and this one has

1868
01:46:47.199 --> 01:46:52.439
brucast time traveling. It was fun, but I think I

1869
01:46:52.479 --> 01:46:55.479
couldn't do five because there were some things that I

1870
01:46:55.560 --> 01:46:58.520
had a lot of issues with. Yeah, and that's why

1871
01:46:58.560 --> 01:47:00.479
I couldn't do it four. That's why at three point

1872
01:47:00.479 --> 01:47:05.239
twenty five. Yeah, I wouldn't read it again, and I

1873
01:47:05.279 --> 01:47:09.600
would only recommend it specifically to anyone that literally is like,

1874
01:47:09.880 --> 01:47:13.399
I'm here for Brucas and for time travel. Yeah, if

1875
01:47:13.399 --> 01:47:16.000
you want both of those things in one book, that

1876
01:47:16.119 --> 01:47:18.199
is the only reason I would recommend this book, because

1877
01:47:18.199 --> 01:47:20.560
I wouldn't recommend it based on it being witchy alone,

1878
01:47:20.600 --> 01:47:23.640
because like, honestly, I wish there was more WITCHI things,

1879
01:47:23.720 --> 01:47:26.960
and I agree, I agree, I wish there was more.

1880
01:47:27.359 --> 01:47:32.279
I loved how again, how La Vista is depicted. I

1881
01:47:32.279 --> 01:47:33.880
wish there was more of it. I wish there was

1882
01:47:33.920 --> 01:47:36.159
more witchy stuff. Like you said, I wish there was

1883
01:47:36.239 --> 01:47:39.479
less of Marta like we both said. Yeah, but it

1884
01:47:39.520 --> 01:47:42.680
was interesting. I love a historical fiction too, so yeah,

1885
01:47:42.720 --> 01:47:44.680
peace was part of it. Was good. I wish there

1886
01:47:44.720 --> 01:47:47.680
was more of it. I just wish we were in

1887
01:47:47.680 --> 01:47:53.560
the past only I'm sorry. Yeah, yeah, I think I

1888
01:47:53.560 --> 01:47:56.600
would recommend it just to see people, like, to see

1889
01:47:56.600 --> 01:47:59.680
what they would think of it themselves. You don't have

1890
01:47:59.720 --> 01:48:01.039
to tell me what you think of it, but I think, like,

1891
01:48:01.079 --> 01:48:03.439
it's an interesting story. Like I didn't, I didn't hate it.

1892
01:48:03.520 --> 01:48:06.840
I liked it. No, I liked it. Yeah, I liked it.

1893
01:48:06.840 --> 01:48:10.800
It was I don't at all regret putting it on

1894
01:48:10.840 --> 01:48:14.880
our book club list. It's an interesting read. It was fun, Yeah,

1895
01:48:15.199 --> 01:48:17.479
but I was annoyed at Martha. I'm sorry. It was

1896
01:48:17.520 --> 01:48:19.800
like she killed this book for me, and then so

1897
01:48:19.920 --> 01:48:22.760
did her kids for and her husband anything about her

1898
01:48:22.800 --> 01:48:24.239
that has to do with his writing. I just wanted

1899
01:48:24.239 --> 01:48:28.199
to read about it, and then, like I if it

1900
01:48:28.239 --> 01:48:30.199
was going to be Martha, I kind of wish that

1901
01:48:31.039 --> 01:48:33.680
maybe she didn't have kids, and maybe this baby would

1902
01:48:33.680 --> 01:48:38.239
have been her first pregnancy accidentally because of Labista, and

1903
01:48:38.560 --> 01:48:41.199
that then we wouldn't have to deal with the kid

1904
01:48:41.199 --> 01:48:47.479
falling off the cliff and me just not caring them,

1905
01:48:48.239 --> 01:48:51.520
but also because then like what would explain the dynamic

1906
01:48:51.560 --> 01:48:53.359
between her and her husband? I think it would have

1907
01:48:53.359 --> 01:48:58.000
been more interesting. Yeah, and then suddenly there's this pregnancy

1908
01:48:58.279 --> 01:49:02.279
and she's own damn. Like so I don't know, I'm

1909
01:49:02.319 --> 01:49:08.720
just making up a new book. No you are, but no, honestly,

1910
01:49:08.840 --> 01:49:14.479
four out of five rats going into the bit about

1911
01:49:15.039 --> 01:49:16.720
but have the time, I can't even say that bit

1912
01:49:16.720 --> 01:49:21.159
of a bit of a kaya. All right, Well, that

1913
01:49:21.319 --> 01:49:23.439
was fun, actually had a lot of fun. I didn't

1914
01:49:23.479 --> 01:49:27.279
know because I finished in January early January too, like

1915
01:49:27.560 --> 01:49:29.600
very eighth, I saw a date. That's the only reason

1916
01:49:29.640 --> 01:49:31.640
I remember, because I mean, I remember, I just thought,

1917
01:49:32.520 --> 01:49:36.439
but it was early January that I finished it, so

1918
01:49:36.479 --> 01:49:38.920
I hardly feel like I remember anything about it. So

1919
01:49:38.960 --> 01:49:41.920
I really appreciate your recap. And I thought, because I

1920
01:49:41.920 --> 01:49:43.880
didn't remember that much, I wouldn't have that much to say.

1921
01:49:43.960 --> 01:49:46.439
But no, it was fun to talk about, I thought,

1922
01:49:46.479 --> 01:49:50.199
because I didn't love every single And I understand you

1923
01:49:50.239 --> 01:49:52.720
can't love. You're not going to love every single book

1924
01:49:52.920 --> 01:49:55.279
that you read, but I so far have for the

1925
01:49:55.279 --> 01:49:57.800
book club, every book has been more than five out

1926
01:49:57.840 --> 01:50:01.239
of five for me. Yeah, but this was not. And

1927
01:50:01.279 --> 01:50:02.640
so I was like, I don't even know do I

1928
01:50:02.680 --> 01:50:05.319
even want to like? And it's so funny because you're

1929
01:50:05.520 --> 01:50:07.199
talking about that makes it seem like you gave it

1930
01:50:07.279 --> 01:50:10.079
like a two and gave it four on a five.

1931
01:50:11.840 --> 01:50:14.119
Well I felt wrong to give it three points on

1932
01:50:14.199 --> 01:50:18.399
buy for me, I don't know because the rest I

1933
01:50:18.479 --> 01:50:21.840
already mean to you. I love to me. Yeah, me,

1934
01:50:23.279 --> 01:50:26.279
it's me, even though it doesn't mean that really because

1935
01:50:26.279 --> 01:50:28.319
two is more like I hated it. I feel like

1936
01:50:28.439 --> 01:50:31.199
each person rating is different to them, you know. That's

1937
01:50:31.199 --> 01:50:34.119
why I don't really even love ratings half the time. Yeah,

1938
01:50:34.960 --> 01:50:38.239
I like to see people ones. I have words. I

1939
01:50:38.279 --> 01:50:40.439
want to write more words, but I like also at

1940
01:50:40.439 --> 01:50:42.600
the same time don't want to but I also like that,

1941
01:50:43.760 --> 01:50:47.239
Oh my god. Yeah, So I honestly, I think if

1942
01:50:47.279 --> 01:50:51.600
you're looking for something that's a little a little Mexican,

1943
01:50:51.720 --> 01:50:56.239
a little Ruka, a little time travel, multi generational story,

1944
01:50:56.640 --> 01:50:58.960
then yeah, but if you're looking for witch is only no,

1945
01:50:59.640 --> 01:51:02.560
maybe you were. Maybe we're just Martha haters. Maybe you

1946
01:51:02.560 --> 01:51:06.119
won't even hate we completely are like maybe other people

1947
01:51:06.199 --> 01:51:13.560
like her. Why we need to stop. Yeah, it's soundurd

1948
01:51:13.600 --> 01:51:17.560
the book for me though, Yeah, and it's funny because

1949
01:51:17.600 --> 01:51:22.319
I think I find Nana written so well and Martha not. Yeah,

1950
01:51:22.359 --> 01:51:24.279
and it was like, you can tell Martha's written by

1951
01:51:24.279 --> 01:51:29.359
a man. Nina feels more fleshed out. And honestly, I

1952
01:51:29.479 --> 01:51:32.159
read stuff about the book and the author says, Martha

1953
01:51:32.760 --> 01:51:35.159
or Nana was a character from the beginning, and he

1954
01:51:35.560 --> 01:51:38.960
had her all fleshed out, and he added Martha to

1955
01:51:39.239 --> 01:51:44.399
give that opposite like type of view to Nanda. Wherever

1956
01:51:44.479 --> 01:51:48.079
else you read about it, Oh yeah, there's a newspaper

1957
01:51:48.079 --> 01:51:51.520
called the Matters, or if it's a library I can't tell,

1958
01:51:52.800 --> 01:51:54.439
but they have an interview with him, and that's where

1959
01:51:54.439 --> 01:51:58.640
I read that. Okay, I think what he talked about. Yeah,

1960
01:51:58.680 --> 01:52:00.399
and I think you can tell she was as an

1961
01:52:00.439 --> 01:52:03.840
afterthought and it's after. That is wrong to say, but

1962
01:52:04.000 --> 01:52:06.960
she was at it after But I don't know. I

1963
01:52:07.079 --> 01:52:09.720
just yeah, but yeah, that's the book. Now we've talked

1964
01:52:09.760 --> 01:52:13.439
about this, Okay, two hours later, I agree. This always

1965
01:52:13.439 --> 01:52:20.399
takes a lot. I know, picking our next book? Should we?

1966
01:52:26.479 --> 01:52:28.359
Do you have any book in mind? I feel like

1967
01:52:28.359 --> 01:52:31.800
I've picked them all? No, I picked this one. What

1968
01:52:31.800 --> 01:52:33.960
are you talking about? You picked us one? Yeah, I

1969
01:52:34.560 --> 01:52:36.319
kind of remember. I was like, we haven't done a

1970
01:52:36.319 --> 01:52:40.800
witchy one. That's right. Okay, do you have a list anywhere?

1971
01:52:40.920 --> 01:52:45.159
Like saved? I had a document o word donc But okay,

1972
01:52:45.199 --> 01:52:46.359
what do we want to pick? A new book or

1973
01:52:46.359 --> 01:52:51.800
an old book? Doesn't matter? What are your options? Well,

1974
01:52:51.840 --> 01:52:59.560
because it's almost March, oh and March the Vanishing Daughters.

1975
01:52:59.560 --> 01:53:03.359
By saying that playo or Bochica, which is I thought

1976
01:53:03.359 --> 01:53:06.640
that was May? How was it? I thought it was March?

1977
01:53:06.840 --> 01:53:09.399
Oh my god? It is May? All right? May will

1978
01:53:09.439 --> 01:53:12.600
be our June should be Puchka for sure? Yes, I

1979
01:53:12.680 --> 01:53:16.319
absolutely want to read that because yeah, we talked about

1980
01:53:16.319 --> 01:53:19.880
this place in the podcast. Yeah, okay, so that's not

1981
01:53:19.920 --> 01:53:21.680
the one coming out in May. Maybe we should do

1982
01:53:21.720 --> 01:53:24.079
an the other one. We can do one new book.

1983
01:53:24.439 --> 01:53:29.560
Let's do that. The Unworthy by Agustina basta Rica is

1984
01:53:29.600 --> 01:53:32.039
one on my lists. It's dystopian. I feel like maybe

1985
01:53:32.039 --> 01:53:34.000
we should do that one, just because I remember the

1986
01:53:34.000 --> 01:53:37.920
cover looks so creepy. Let's do it. Okay, Okay, So yes,

1987
01:53:38.000 --> 01:53:40.600
we have chosen the next book. It is The Unworthy

1988
01:53:40.800 --> 01:53:46.920
by Agustina basta Rica and it is translated by Sarah Moses.

1989
01:53:46.920 --> 01:53:48.640
I will not be reading in Spanish, and I will

1990
01:53:48.640 --> 01:53:53.279
be reading the translated version because I can't read in Spanish.

1991
01:53:53.439 --> 01:53:57.319
But here's the description. In the House of the Sacred Sisterhood,

1992
01:53:57.479 --> 01:54:00.439
the unworthy live in fear of the superior sister whip

1993
01:54:00.600 --> 01:54:02.880
seeding with resentment. They plot against each other on a

1994
01:54:02.880 --> 01:54:05.760
way who will ascend to the level of the enlightened

1995
01:54:05.960 --> 01:54:10.640
and who will suffer the next exemplary punishment, risking her life.

1996
01:54:10.720 --> 01:54:14.039
One of the Unworthy keeps a diary in secret, solely

1997
01:54:14.119 --> 01:54:17.840
memory surface from a time before the world collapsed, before

1998
01:54:17.880 --> 01:54:22.319
the Sacrets Sishood became the only refuge. Then Lucia arrives.

1999
01:54:22.520 --> 01:54:26.239
She too is unworthy, but she's different, and her arrival

2000
01:54:26.600 --> 01:54:31.479
brings a single spark of hope to a world of darkness. Wow,

2001
01:54:32.399 --> 01:54:36.479
it sounds cool. It does. The cover is also cool. Also,

2002
01:54:36.520 --> 01:54:39.039
it's the same person who wrote Tender as a Flesh, Yes,

2003
01:54:39.359 --> 01:54:42.319
which I loved. And again I don't know if love

2004
01:54:42.359 --> 01:54:45.239
does the right word, but I enjoy. It's not also

2005
01:54:45.399 --> 01:54:49.439
really the right word either. It was a book that

2006
01:54:50.439 --> 01:54:56.680
means a lot. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, that's the next book.

2007
01:54:56.760 --> 01:54:59.880
I'll add it to the book club list on STORYG

2008
01:55:00.399 --> 01:55:03.560
I'll send out our newsletter when this comes out. Said

2009
01:55:03.520 --> 01:55:05.920
it's kind of short too. Oh okay, maybe we can

2010
01:55:05.960 --> 01:55:10.000
like about these books then, and me write these notes

2011
01:55:10.000 --> 01:55:11.800
and maybe we'll have like one once a month and

2012
01:55:11.880 --> 01:55:15.000
may chase any of the bye, finish it earlier. I'll

2013
01:55:15.199 --> 01:55:19.039
start the notes. Okay, we'll see yes, And you know,

2014
01:55:19.199 --> 01:55:22.359
we always say recommendations, like what book do you want

2015
01:55:22.359 --> 01:55:24.840
to read? Yeah, because we'll do it. Mem that's to

2016
01:55:24.880 --> 01:55:28.079
be a LATINX horror. That's it. That's the only requirement. Yeah,

2017
01:55:28.239 --> 01:55:31.399
it could be a man too, it can it's yeah,

2018
01:55:31.439 --> 01:55:33.960
I mean we write our first love this was Oh

2019
01:55:34.000 --> 01:55:36.039
but yeah that that was our first man book. Yeah,

2020
01:55:36.119 --> 01:55:38.960
this is our second man book. We also read men.

2021
01:55:39.880 --> 01:55:44.239
Yeah look at us first okay, and yeah, this has

2022
01:55:44.279 --> 01:55:46.920
been a book club episode. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

2023
01:55:47.039 --> 01:55:49.119
I didn't let us know your thoughts and see a

2024
01:55:49.119 --> 01:55:53.319
