Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia blends together Mexican horror movies and dark occultism. We follow Montserrat, who has always been overlooked. She's a talented sound editor, but she's left out of the boys' club running the film industry in '90s Mexico City. And she's all but invisible to her best friend Tristán, a charming if faded soap opera star, even though she's been in love with him since childhood.

Then Tristán discovers his new neighbor is the cult horror director Abel Urueta, and he has a way to change their lives - even if his tales of a Nazi occultist imbuing magic into highly volatile silver nitrate stock sounds like sheer fantasy. The magic film was never finished, which is why, Urueta swears, his career vanished overnight. He is cursed.

Now the director wants Montserrat and Tristán to help him shoot the missing scene and lift the curse . . . but Montserrat soon notices a dark presence following her.

MJ talks about the occult history that is mentioned in the book, Carmen recaps the book and then they all go through diiscussion questions.

1
00:00:04.120 --> 00:00:08.000
Hi everyone. This is Christina,
and this is MJ and Carmen, and

2
00:00:08.320 --> 00:00:14.359
this is a book Club episode.
Finally. It took a year. Literally

3
00:00:14.839 --> 00:00:19.039
yeah, yeah, literally a year. It's our episode on silver nitrate.

4
00:00:19.640 --> 00:00:23.320
And Carmen, you wrote all the
notes today, so I did, and

5
00:00:23.399 --> 00:00:27.000
I basically reread it for the notes, so it's fresh in my mind.

6
00:00:27.640 --> 00:00:31.079
Wow, it's fresh. Okay,
I did not, so we'll see what

7
00:00:31.079 --> 00:00:34.840
happened. Yeah, any refresher at
all? Nothing, nothing, It's okay,

8
00:00:34.840 --> 00:00:37.479
because I'm gonna tell you what happens. Yeah. No, no,

9
00:00:37.600 --> 00:00:41.960
I don't remember anything, so no, no, no, I remember,

10
00:00:42.000 --> 00:00:46.679
I remember somethings. Okay, I
just didn't reread it. I reread it,

11
00:00:46.799 --> 00:00:50.679
but like a month ago. Oh
oh well that's better than me.

12
00:00:50.799 --> 00:00:54.479
Still is that when you message and
you were like, I have notes now

13
00:00:54.560 --> 00:01:00.119
on this, Like no, it
was after actually oh oh okay, but

14
00:01:00.159 --> 00:01:07.719
I do have notes on the real
life influences or lure that she used for

15
00:01:07.840 --> 00:01:12.760
the book that I did write down
because she grabbed a lot of influences from

16
00:01:14.079 --> 00:01:19.159
like accurate historical shit, as she
always Yes, yeah, I guess we

17
00:01:19.239 --> 00:01:23.719
could do that first and then we'll
like kind of have more of an idea

18
00:01:23.959 --> 00:01:29.200
of what it intels. Okay,
so was the first thing that I'm going

19
00:01:29.239 --> 00:01:32.519
to go over. It's I believe
the gold Shirts they were called. I

20
00:01:32.519 --> 00:01:34.680
didn't write this down, but this
was fresh in my memory, and they

21
00:01:34.719 --> 00:01:41.079
were a political group in Mexico and
they were very like a pro Nazi.

22
00:01:42.439 --> 00:01:45.560
They were I can't remember that they
were a right wing I believe, a

23
00:01:45.560 --> 00:01:49.280
political group at the time, and
I didn't. I had no idea about

24
00:01:49.280 --> 00:01:52.719
this. Yeah, the gold Shirts
a Mexican fascist, secular, anti Semitic,

25
00:01:52.760 --> 00:01:57.640
anti communist party, ultra nationalist,
all the bad things. And they

26
00:01:57.680 --> 00:02:01.280
were from nineteen thirty three to nineteen
thirty six, and she mentions them on

27
00:02:01.400 --> 00:02:07.439
page sixty. I believe. So
I had no idea about this. I

28
00:02:07.519 --> 00:02:13.840
knew they were like pro Nazi or
whatever because they were anti Semitic. Wow,

29
00:02:14.400 --> 00:02:19.159
I feel like we don't know a
lot about like Nazi movements, pro

30
00:02:19.280 --> 00:02:22.960
Nazi movements outside of Germany because it's
not taught to us. Because there's also

31
00:02:23.080 --> 00:02:24.840
a yeah, like did you see
that thing with the pro Nazi movement here

32
00:02:24.840 --> 00:02:30.479
in the United States during the In
the US there was a gathering of over

33
00:02:30.560 --> 00:02:35.879
twenty thousand Nazis during the war or
yeah, I'm pretty sure it was during

34
00:02:35.919 --> 00:02:38.840
And it's like they don't tell you
how many Nazis were here and how they

35
00:02:38.039 --> 00:02:43.159
of course not. I mean like
there's always a thing about like, oh,

36
00:02:43.240 --> 00:02:47.080
well, all the Nazis went to
like Argentina, and partially that's true,

37
00:02:47.479 --> 00:02:52.280
but a lot of them came here. Here's a project called Project paper

38
00:02:52.319 --> 00:02:54.319
Clip. Yeah, a lot of
them were brought over here, and a

39
00:02:54.400 --> 00:02:59.120
lot of people gotcha like, Latin
America, you guys took a Nazis.

40
00:02:59.159 --> 00:03:01.560
I'm like, so did the United
States? How did you think I got

41
00:03:01.680 --> 00:03:05.759
rocket technology? Like are you so
syvoists? Yeah? A lot of them

42
00:03:05.960 --> 00:03:09.400
fled secretly hiding their identities to Latin
America, but a lot of them were

43
00:03:09.520 --> 00:03:13.360
invited over here. They were Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.

44
00:03:13.360 --> 00:03:15.360
They were invited here. Yeah,
they were invited over here, and they

45
00:03:15.400 --> 00:03:21.960
forgave their atrocities to humanity because the
government, the United States government was like,

46
00:03:22.680 --> 00:03:25.199
we'll forgive you if you have to
give us the information and all your

47
00:03:25.240 --> 00:03:29.240
work and research, which is like, you know a lot of people use

48
00:03:29.280 --> 00:03:31.159
it as a katcha Latin America,
you know, but I'm like, and

49
00:03:31.199 --> 00:03:35.719
it's really not it's not. Then
it went on to commit some atrocities here.

50
00:03:36.080 --> 00:03:40.159
Mm hmmm, mm hmmm, because
the Nazis that were brought over with

51
00:03:40.319 --> 00:03:46.000
Operation Paperclip were then hired to work
on Project the MK Ultra. So yeah,

52
00:03:46.039 --> 00:03:51.080
that too. Yeah, and then
there was I don't know if this

53
00:03:51.280 --> 00:03:53.400
has anything to do with it,
which I do need to research, but

54
00:03:53.840 --> 00:03:55.919
or I'm pulling this out of my
ass. But I don't know if you

55
00:03:55.960 --> 00:04:00.800
guys had ever heard of doctor I
think Deliriate. What was his name when

56
00:04:02.000 --> 00:04:08.080
he used to be a scientist that
worked with the United States. That sounds

57
00:04:08.120 --> 00:04:11.039
like a fake name. No,
it's it's it's not a real name.

58
00:04:11.080 --> 00:04:14.680
It's a nickname that they gave this
guy. And oh, okay, if

59
00:04:14.719 --> 00:04:16.720
I heard his real name, I
might recognize him, But not through that

60
00:04:16.839 --> 00:04:20.959
name. I feel like it only
sounds familiar because it sounds like like US

61
00:04:21.279 --> 00:04:27.720
comic book building, like. But
it was a guy who used to test

62
00:04:27.920 --> 00:04:32.839
on uh, oh my god,
he used to test on on military personnel.

63
00:04:33.319 --> 00:04:36.439
Well, this just sounds like any
scientist that was brought over during Operation

64
00:04:36.560 --> 00:04:40.399
Oh yeah. But he was like
he was like, oh my god,

65
00:04:40.399 --> 00:04:44.720
there's there's a documentary. I think
his name was doctor delirium. Let me

66
00:04:44.759 --> 00:04:47.680
see. Oh, I just saw
an article from The Guardian inside the world

67
00:04:47.759 --> 00:04:54.600
of shocking military drug experiments in the
fifties to the seventies, and a lot

68
00:04:54.600 --> 00:04:59.959
of the subjects to this like uh
uh drug experiments on the military person.

69
00:05:00.120 --> 00:05:03.199
No, they like, like,
what is it called family annihilators and stuff?

70
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:09.279
Yeah? Wait, what what is
the connection? Oh that became they

71
00:05:09.279 --> 00:05:15.160
became family annihilators experimented on Yeah.
Yeah, they killed they killed themselves and

72
00:05:15.160 --> 00:05:18.600
their whole family. That's the new
Like I never heard of that, like

73
00:05:18.639 --> 00:05:24.160
family annihilators until like about a month
ago, where they're talking about men who

74
00:05:24.279 --> 00:05:28.240
that kills his children and his well, his family that's everyone hence today and

75
00:05:28.319 --> 00:05:30.839
himself. Yeah, family and I
But I never heard that term. I

76
00:05:30.879 --> 00:05:34.439
know, like everybody's like, are
you serious? I thought you had.

77
00:05:34.519 --> 00:05:38.120
I feel like you guys talked about
it in one of your episodes one.

78
00:05:38.160 --> 00:05:43.560
I'm surprised, no, because we've
only talked about what's her name that killed

79
00:05:43.560 --> 00:05:46.000
her children. But I don't think
we've talked about Oh but no, not

80
00:05:46.079 --> 00:05:50.439
a man. No, Okay,
So I guess I'm going to the podcast.

81
00:05:50.519 --> 00:05:56.439
Yeah, you and I have had
these conversations coming probably maybe I'm getting

82
00:05:56.560 --> 00:05:59.800
used with real life, but I
think a lot of like the experiments that

83
00:05:59.800 --> 00:06:01.959
have at the time had to also
do with like Nazi research, and because

84
00:06:02.000 --> 00:06:10.959
they did do like drug experiments on
concentration camp victims and stuff. So I

85
00:06:11.000 --> 00:06:14.279
had no idea about that. Yeah, yeah, that's where they the gold

86
00:06:14.319 --> 00:06:18.800
shirts. Well, no, let's
go on with your notes before we Okay,

87
00:06:19.759 --> 00:06:25.079
A few years ago I went down
the Alistair Crowley Crowley My Bad Crowley

88
00:06:25.120 --> 00:06:29.839
rabbit hole, and it's a very
extensive rabbit hole to me, Like the

89
00:06:29.959 --> 00:06:34.279
Alistair Crowley topic is a topic that
almost seems never ending, not necessarily his

90
00:06:34.319 --> 00:06:39.279
story because his story is like pretty
like Keen like beginning to end, but

91
00:06:39.879 --> 00:06:44.720
there's like the spiderweb with things and
people he is connected to by like either

92
00:06:44.759 --> 00:06:51.600
his friends or something JPL. The
jet propulsion laboratories involved Nazi religion, Nazi's

93
00:06:51.639 --> 00:06:57.600
religion. Ancient memoirs remind me Alistair
Crowley, how is he related to silver

94
00:06:57.720 --> 00:07:01.720
nytrait? She mentions him in the
book. I remember, and then a

95
00:07:01.759 --> 00:07:05.240
lot of the stuff that I want
to say like happens in the book because

96
00:07:05.279 --> 00:07:10.399
to me, what is the guy's
name? I forgot his name? Yours.

97
00:07:10.680 --> 00:07:15.519
Yours is an Alister Crowley esque you
know what. I don't know how

98
00:07:15.519 --> 00:07:17.759
to pronounce his name, but yeah, you were you weres, you weres,

99
00:07:17.879 --> 00:07:21.240
you weres. I think his name
is yours, but yours is to

100
00:07:21.480 --> 00:07:28.639
me and Alistair Crowley esque character,
like I feel like kids based on Alistair

101
00:07:28.720 --> 00:07:31.399
Crowley. I keep saying his name
is Crowley, and I keep on saying

102
00:07:31.439 --> 00:07:35.839
Crowley whatever. You know why I
say Crowley because the character from Supernatural mm

103
00:07:35.920 --> 00:07:40.519
hmm yeah when I say it because
of good omens. Oh yeah, but

104
00:07:40.639 --> 00:07:44.240
his name is Crowley because even like
a lot of people call him Crowley.

105
00:07:44.279 --> 00:07:46.839
But his family used to have a
brewing I know so much shit about this

106
00:07:46.879 --> 00:07:49.959
guy. Okay, I'm sorry.
I went down the rad His family used

107
00:07:49.959 --> 00:07:56.759
to have a brewing company and the
logo was a crow I thought they were

108
00:07:56.879 --> 00:08:03.720
crowds. Are they crowds? Guess
it depends, like whatever. I'm just

109
00:08:03.720 --> 00:08:07.879
gonna call him Crowley because like the
way I speak English wants to say Crowley.

110
00:08:09.040 --> 00:08:11.920
But yeah, I've heard I forgot
that Crawley. Yeah yeah, yeah,

111
00:08:11.959 --> 00:08:16.439
I agree. Okay. So there's
Egyptology, Christianity, angels, and

112
00:08:16.560 --> 00:08:20.720
bram Stoker, like the connections and
the and the spider web is like crazy

113
00:08:22.279 --> 00:08:24.920
and a lot of it is in
silver nitrate. A lot of it is

114
00:08:26.000 --> 00:08:28.600
not. So if you have gone
down the occultism, especially of the late

115
00:08:28.680 --> 00:08:33.639
nineteenth century and the rest of the
twentieth century and occultism now, Alistair Crowley

116
00:08:33.759 --> 00:08:37.399
was either involved or influenced things in
one way or another. Even the Beatles

117
00:08:37.440 --> 00:08:43.320
are involved. It's like like it's
crazy wow. And Jimmy Page too,

118
00:08:43.840 --> 00:08:48.919
the Beatles the guitarists. Oh okay. I was like, who's Jimmy Page?

119
00:08:48.320 --> 00:08:52.919
Like the name sounds okay. Yeah. So so before I give a

120
00:08:52.960 --> 00:08:56.960
background into occultism that inspired silver nitrate, I do not advise anyone to do

121
00:08:58.080 --> 00:09:01.559
the things Alistair Crowley did. He
was very depraved. There's child to abuse,

122
00:09:01.600 --> 00:09:07.080
of illegal activity and perhaps even murder, which again it's very similar to

123
00:09:07.320 --> 00:09:11.759
the ship that he was accused of
that's a silver nitrate. He was into

124
00:09:11.039 --> 00:09:16.639
some shit, nasty, disgusting shit
no pun intended. Uh. It is

125
00:09:16.679 --> 00:09:20.240
said that at one point he consumed
human excrements. He was not in the

126
00:09:20.320 --> 00:09:26.879
right head and reading up about like
about his stuff like scratches an itch,

127
00:09:28.919 --> 00:09:31.679
like you know, but please don't
do what he did. He's still he

128
00:09:31.799 --> 00:09:35.960
still has a huge following even today. But I feel like I have to

129
00:09:35.320 --> 00:09:41.360
address that because common sons say what
he did. Yeah, because like like

130
00:09:41.559 --> 00:09:48.440
there's some people out there and like
common sense is not that common. Like

131
00:09:48.519 --> 00:09:52.240
there's there's a reason why we have
stupid as warnings on labels. Yeah,

132
00:09:52.240 --> 00:09:58.519
there's a reason. That's true.
That's very true. The book mentions the

133
00:09:58.639 --> 00:10:03.399
Real Society and and now the Real
Society was associated with the Fool Society,

134
00:10:03.440 --> 00:10:07.399
and the Soul Society was in a
cult to society that was founded in Germany

135
00:10:07.519 --> 00:10:11.240
after World War One by Rudolph on
I can't pronounce his name, but I'm

136
00:10:11.240 --> 00:10:16.720
going to try Subotandorf. And the
Real Society is said to have been the

137
00:10:16.759 --> 00:10:20.200
inner circle of the Fool Society.
So the School Society is already like a

138
00:10:20.240 --> 00:10:22.320
secret society, but then there was
like a secret society within the secret society,

139
00:10:22.440 --> 00:10:28.559
a secret secret society on and now
there is Yeah, there is no

140
00:10:28.759 --> 00:10:33.399
evidence of the Real Society ever existing. It was alleged by Jack Jacket,

141
00:10:35.159 --> 00:10:45.039
Jaquis Usi Rogier and Louis Powell's in
nineteen sixty and the origins of the idea

142
00:10:45.120 --> 00:10:48.919
of the Real society. I think
it is important. It comes from a

143
00:10:48.960 --> 00:10:54.080
book written in eighteen seventy one by
Edward Bulwer Edward Brewer Lights entitled The Coming

144
00:10:54.120 --> 00:10:58.679
of Race. In this book,
the main character encounters a subterranean master race.

145
00:11:00.000 --> 00:11:03.759
These beings called themselves the Rill.
Yeah, and they have telepathic abilities.

146
00:11:05.200 --> 00:11:11.120
They're essentially superhuman. The Rialia were
descendants of an anti Deluvian race called

147
00:11:11.159 --> 00:11:16.039
the Ana, and their energy and
spirituality is connected with this thing called the

148
00:11:16.200 --> 00:11:20.919
Rill. It's like a fluid essence
thing, and it's what makes them superhuman

149
00:11:20.080 --> 00:11:24.159
and empowers their tech and civilization as
a whole. So we get a little

150
00:11:24.200 --> 00:11:31.159
bit of how you were used himself
as belonging to this superior race from an

151
00:11:31.159 --> 00:11:37.519
antidiluvian society like Atlantis. And I
mean this was legit, like people thought

152
00:11:37.559 --> 00:11:41.519
this. Yeah, the right hand
man of not of Hitler, and he

153
00:11:41.720 --> 00:11:46.159
was in charge of the SS.
He he had an insane amount of books

154
00:11:46.279 --> 00:11:52.720
on occultism, occultism. Well there
were hella ocultests yeah yeah. And and

155
00:11:52.360 --> 00:11:56.480
like by the way, these books
are from eighteen seventy one, so it

156
00:11:56.840 --> 00:12:01.039
stands this is a real the real
it's a real book. Like by the

157
00:12:01.080 --> 00:12:03.720
way, like you can download it
and read it today. But this is

158
00:12:03.759 --> 00:12:07.840
where the real society, like the
inspiration comes from. And you could also

159
00:12:07.879 --> 00:12:13.120
see this inspiration then transfer over to
Silver Night Trade. So again similar to

160
00:12:13.200 --> 00:12:18.120
the Atlantean thing you weres had going
on. And then Jack Parsons, which

161
00:12:18.200 --> 00:12:24.279
is a real person and he was
part of Salima. She mentions him.

162
00:12:24.120 --> 00:12:30.039
So it's on page sixty five and
she mentions Jack Parson. He was a

163
00:12:30.120 --> 00:12:35.159
real person, like an occultist.
He was part of Salima. I can't

164
00:12:35.200 --> 00:12:41.440
pronounce half of this shit. I'm
guessing Salima and it's an occultis society started

165
00:12:41.480 --> 00:12:46.559
by Alistair Crowley. Parsons was one
of the founding members of JPL. He

166
00:12:46.879 --> 00:12:50.360
was an occultist in practice and had
communication with Crowley. Jack Parsons is the

167
00:12:50.440 --> 00:12:56.360
link between Alistair Crowley and the United
States government, both with JPL and because

168
00:12:56.720 --> 00:13:01.960
Jack parsons occult practices were investigated by
the government several times. Wow. He

169
00:13:01.240 --> 00:13:05.360
was in an open marriage with his
wife because Alistair and the whole of Sillema

170
00:13:05.480 --> 00:13:11.039
society told him to. They had
like this whole polyamory thing going on in

171
00:13:11.399 --> 00:13:16.799
that society. He then began sleeping
with his wife's sister. This comes into

172
00:13:16.840 --> 00:13:22.919
play later because Jack Parson then becomes
friends with el Ron Hubbard, that very

173
00:13:24.039 --> 00:13:31.519
same al Ron Horbard, father of
scientology Alistair did not like Hobbard. I'm

174
00:13:31.559 --> 00:13:35.679
telling you, like Alister Crowley's in
the middle of everything and this is all

175
00:13:35.720 --> 00:13:37.840
connected. I'm frightened and like it's
like a spider w But I told you

176
00:13:39.240 --> 00:13:43.279
and Alicer did not like Hubbard and
was concerned for Parsons. Sarah, his

177
00:13:43.399 --> 00:13:46.279
wife's sister, had a relationship with
then fell for Hubbard. Sarah and Hubbard

178
00:13:46.320 --> 00:13:50.759
took all of parsons life savings spent
it on a business venture that did not

179
00:13:50.919 --> 00:13:56.399
go anywhere. Hubbard had worked for
the government and is believed that Hubbard was

180
00:13:56.440 --> 00:14:01.399
the reason for the downfall of Parsons
and the Thelma Society branch he was head

181
00:14:01.440 --> 00:14:05.279
of, called Ordo Templey Orientis.
Hubbard took his girl, his money and

182
00:14:05.480 --> 00:14:11.799
was his downfall. Damn. Parson
was fully investigated on accounts of his recklessness

183
00:14:11.879 --> 00:14:18.159
at JPL. Everything was under a
magnifying glass for the entire entire world to

184
00:14:18.240 --> 00:14:22.159
see. He was let go and
was hit with a lot of bad luck.

185
00:14:22.360 --> 00:14:26.840
Again. The bad luck aspect of
Aleister Crowley and the people that was

186
00:14:26.080 --> 00:14:31.799
involved with him. Oh my god. Like the book even yeah, even

187
00:14:31.960 --> 00:14:35.720
Parson's death has so much conspiracy behind
it. Some people think it was a

188
00:14:35.799 --> 00:14:39.759
suicide, other things. It was, you know, it was a murder,

189
00:14:41.440 --> 00:14:43.120
bad luck. You know. Like
in the book, I want to

190
00:14:43.200 --> 00:14:48.240
express how much of a spider web
this is. And it's sounding like conspiracy

191
00:14:48.440 --> 00:14:54.399
theorists, but Alistair Crowley had connections
that had connections. Also, it speculated

192
00:14:54.440 --> 00:14:58.200
that Hubbard got a lot of his
ideas for scientology from the Thallima Society,

193
00:14:58.399 --> 00:15:05.399
though says that's not true. But
and it is weird how they have a

194
00:15:05.519 --> 00:15:09.519
lot of similarities. And I'm like, the Thelma Society existed before scientology,

195
00:15:09.639 --> 00:15:13.919
So I'm just putting that out there
now. Onto the Hermetic Order of the

196
00:15:13.000 --> 00:15:18.399
Golden Dawn. And in the book
they mentioned she mentions the Golden Don which

197
00:15:18.480 --> 00:15:22.919
is another sacred society occult de secret. I can remember them me neither.

198
00:15:22.879 --> 00:15:26.039
It's all ringing a bell. But
like if someone's going to research in insane

199
00:15:26.039 --> 00:15:31.399
amount for a book, for a
background of a book, it is oh

200
00:15:31.480 --> 00:15:35.039
yeah, no doubt. Yeah.
And again like it's all these connections that

201
00:15:35.080 --> 00:15:39.279
are similar to what happens to everybody
in the book, so she gets the

202
00:15:39.360 --> 00:15:43.000
inspiration from real life. Shit.
Now onto the again to the as the

203
00:15:43.080 --> 00:15:50.679
name and titles. They practice hermeticism, which is philosophy and religion religious ideology

204
00:15:50.759 --> 00:15:56.039
attributed to Hermes tris Megistus. I
can't pronounce that, and it's a figure

205
00:15:56.080 --> 00:16:03.440
that is a combination of the Greek
god Hermes and then god Fuff. Alistair

206
00:16:03.480 --> 00:16:07.639
Crowley was part of the group between
eighteen ninety eight through eighteen ninety nine.

207
00:16:07.720 --> 00:16:11.679
He wasn't like because he was bisexual
and had a very moral free lifestyle.

208
00:16:12.039 --> 00:16:18.600
Bram Stoker and William Butler Yeats were
part of the Golden Dawn. Alistair and

209
00:16:18.759 --> 00:16:22.000
Yeats had beef and Alistair was then
kicked out of the Golden Dawn and that's

210
00:16:22.039 --> 00:16:26.399
when he formed the Lima. Wow, Wow, Wow. But bram Stoker

211
00:16:26.519 --> 00:16:30.720
that you know Dracula, bram Stoker
was part of. Yeah. So now

212
00:16:30.799 --> 00:16:36.200
onto the occultism and practices in Silver
Knights trade to me. The Yellow Door

213
00:16:37.080 --> 00:16:41.200
title of the movie in the is
the homage to the Golden Dawn, like

214
00:16:41.519 --> 00:16:45.279
Golden Dawn, Yellow Door. Yeah, I see it, I see it.

215
00:16:45.799 --> 00:16:51.039
The Rights of Saturn, also known
as the Rights of El Luisi's I

216
00:16:51.080 --> 00:16:55.320
can't pronounce that was a play or
more like a series of seven plays Lisses

217
00:16:56.120 --> 00:17:00.399
and the Ohses. It's I don't
know how to pronounce it and put it

218
00:17:00.480 --> 00:17:06.480
in and everybody hold on. I'm
going to message to the group E l

219
00:17:06.680 --> 00:17:15.279
e usis. So the Rights of
Saturn or the rights of Lewis's whatever was

220
00:17:15.440 --> 00:17:19.759
a play or like a series of
seven plays on each Wednesday that started October

221
00:17:21.359 --> 00:17:26.920
nineteenth and through November thirtieth, nineteen
ten. The plays were supposed to be

222
00:17:26.519 --> 00:17:30.079
It's supposed to induce an altered state
of mind, a higher consciousness, which

223
00:17:30.119 --> 00:17:34.440
is similar to silver nitrate, like
you know what they try to do with

224
00:17:34.480 --> 00:17:40.799
the movie Trying. They're trying to
do the same thing. So that was

225
00:17:40.920 --> 00:17:47.400
an actual thing that Alistair Crowley did. He wrote this play and he was

226
00:17:47.480 --> 00:17:49.599
trying to do the same thing that
you Weers did in the book. Wow

227
00:17:49.799 --> 00:17:52.559
No. So yeah, as you
go on, I start to think that

228
00:17:53.440 --> 00:17:57.880
you Weres or Wilhem Youwers whatever is
that's what he's based on. Yeah,

229
00:17:57.880 --> 00:18:04.960
and Alistair Crowley esque character but with
Nazi background, which is you know,

230
00:18:06.319 --> 00:18:11.480
it's already like Nazis and Alister Crowley, it's all occultism. Another ritual that

231
00:18:11.640 --> 00:18:15.920
was inspired in the magic of silver
nitrate was a ritual called the a Bremlin

232
00:18:17.039 --> 00:18:21.200
the Mage, a ritual by the
by a Bremlin the Mage, my bad.

233
00:18:21.519 --> 00:18:25.440
This particular ritual is to summon your
guardian Angel. And this ritual takes

234
00:18:25.519 --> 00:18:29.240
eighteen months of strict pious behavior.
Yes, eighteen months. That means you

235
00:18:29.319 --> 00:18:34.000
have to behave like an ultimate saint. That means no spicy stuff, no

236
00:18:34.200 --> 00:18:40.400
spicy thoughts, you have to even
eat super clean, no alcohol, like

237
00:18:40.480 --> 00:18:45.000
it's just super strict for eighteen months. And then you have to like isolate

238
00:18:45.039 --> 00:18:48.720
yourself for a certain amount of time. But it's a practitioner, even for

239
00:18:48.839 --> 00:18:52.559
a split second does something that that's
not aligned with the ritual, you have

240
00:18:52.759 --> 00:18:57.400
to start it over. Even if
you're like one second away from finishing the

241
00:18:57.440 --> 00:19:00.599
eighteen months, you got to start
over. There are strict rules when it

242
00:19:00.640 --> 00:19:06.000
comes to his first a practitioner summons
their guardian angel. The second half,

243
00:19:06.079 --> 00:19:10.400
the practitioner summons the twelve Dukes and
Kings of health, and it's three days

244
00:19:10.720 --> 00:19:14.799
of summoning the twelve Dukes and Kings
is the most crucial. One cannot mess

245
00:19:15.039 --> 00:19:18.440
up on this because if they do, they will they will be free and

246
00:19:18.680 --> 00:19:22.279
due to you as they see fit, causing supposedly bad luck. And it's

247
00:19:22.319 --> 00:19:26.119
all for magical powers, like you
do this and you're supposed to like gain

248
00:19:26.279 --> 00:19:30.480
all these powers. Wow. So
Crowley tried to do this at the house

249
00:19:30.519 --> 00:19:37.799
he bought on Locknest called Bolskin House. However, between Crowley being anything but

250
00:19:37.960 --> 00:19:41.680
pious and he I mean he gave
himself the name the Best six sixty six,

251
00:19:41.960 --> 00:19:45.279
he tried to do the ritual in
a short amount of time. He

252
00:19:45.440 --> 00:19:49.480
found a manuscript that said six months, and he tried to do it in

253
00:19:49.599 --> 00:19:52.960
three. So again, this ritel
is about to say eighteen months Jesus,

254
00:19:53.039 --> 00:19:56.960
and it was already cut like more
in happily. He was like, I'm

255
00:19:56.960 --> 00:20:02.599
gonna cut it more. Wow,
I don't really expedite this. Yeah.

256
00:20:02.720 --> 00:20:06.200
And because he didn't complete said ritual
or because he didn't do it right,

257
00:20:06.680 --> 00:20:11.559
it said that he opened a gate
to hell. And also women are not

258
00:20:11.640 --> 00:20:18.000
allowed to do the a Brumlin ritual
as periods are considered unclean. So maybe

259
00:20:18.079 --> 00:20:21.920
like if you get like no periods, you're golden, but if you have

260
00:20:22.000 --> 00:20:25.119
a period, you can't do it. So Bullskin House is supposed to be

261
00:20:25.240 --> 00:20:30.359
crazy haunted, like to the level
of crazy. Is it it's on lockness?

262
00:20:30.680 --> 00:20:34.279
Is that in Scotland? Is it
in Scotland? I was taking it

263
00:20:34.359 --> 00:20:38.799
while guess yeah, it's Scotland.
Yeah, okay, okay, oh like

264
00:20:38.880 --> 00:20:44.640
the monster yes, yes, yeah, okay okay. So, so it's

265
00:20:44.680 --> 00:20:48.000
supposed to be like crazy haunted,
like the you know, like the printing

266
00:20:48.079 --> 00:20:52.640
house and silver nitrate like that kind
of haunted. Many people have gone there

267
00:20:52.799 --> 00:20:57.599
and have so many stories. Jimmy
Page bought it in the seventies. Jimmy

268
00:20:57.640 --> 00:21:00.640
Page said he had a bad from
the house. However, he let his

269
00:21:00.799 --> 00:21:06.079
friend Malcolm Dent live there up until
the nineties and the Dent family just said

270
00:21:06.119 --> 00:21:11.160
where stuff used to happen, doors
would slam all night and among other things.

271
00:21:11.240 --> 00:21:14.079
And then the house also caught on
fire a couple of times, most

272
00:21:14.160 --> 00:21:18.279
recently in twenty fifteen and twenty nineteen. Wow. There's also supposed to be

273
00:21:18.359 --> 00:21:22.759
a whaling lady that appears on the
property, and it is believed that the

274
00:21:22.839 --> 00:21:27.720
twelve Dukes and Kings got their revenge
on Crowley as he died broke and alone

275
00:21:27.960 --> 00:21:32.839
and a drug addict. So again
they he didn't do the ritual right and

276
00:21:33.079 --> 00:21:37.079
or he didn't finish it and he
got a shit head of bablic And by

277
00:21:37.119 --> 00:21:41.440
the way, Alistair Crowley was rich. He was a rich dude. Emphasis

278
00:21:41.519 --> 00:21:45.480
on was was was well, and
then he did this ritual and then like

279
00:21:45.759 --> 00:21:51.519
shit went downhill for him and for
a lot of people in his circle.

280
00:21:52.440 --> 00:21:57.079
And then it is said also that
this ritual is what created the Lochness Monster.

281
00:21:57.319 --> 00:22:03.440
Like again conspiracy theories, but it's
very oh my gosh that the bad

282
00:22:03.599 --> 00:22:10.920
luck between these people. This is
very emphasis in Silver Night Trait and a

283
00:22:11.000 --> 00:22:15.720
lot of the stuff that that she
just drops hints too is in the book,

284
00:22:15.960 --> 00:22:18.799
and I thought that was interesting because
she does she does an amazing job

285
00:22:18.960 --> 00:22:25.039
of getting real life, historical people
or historical shit and just putting it into

286
00:22:25.240 --> 00:22:30.359
love books. Yeah, but those
are my notes. Wow, I'm so

287
00:22:30.480 --> 00:22:33.240
glad you brought that because it really
brings a whole different light, like so

288
00:22:33.400 --> 00:22:37.480
much more depth to Like that's when
I was reading it, I was like,

289
00:22:37.519 --> 00:22:38.680
oh my god, I know this. I know this, I know

290
00:22:41.200 --> 00:22:47.240
from your previous Yeah, like I
did this Rabbit hold back in twenty eighteen

291
00:22:48.160 --> 00:22:52.240
because he's like if you're like into
any kind of occultism, especially modern day

292
00:22:52.279 --> 00:22:56.279
occultism, which I don't practice.
I just it just scratches an itch in

293
00:22:56.359 --> 00:23:00.839
my brain to like hear the stories. He's in it. He's in everything

294
00:23:02.000 --> 00:23:07.240
from tarot cards, music albums.
You see so many people wearing his face

295
00:23:07.319 --> 00:23:11.759
on shirts. A lot of musicians, the Beatles put him on it out

296
00:23:11.839 --> 00:23:15.440
in front of an album. I
think I even see I want to see,

297
00:23:15.480 --> 00:23:19.359
Like there's a few rappers who wore
his shirt, like not his shirt,

298
00:23:19.400 --> 00:23:22.599
but like a shirt with his face
on it. And a lot of

299
00:23:22.640 --> 00:23:27.720
people don't actually know how much into
pop culture. Alistair Crowley is put in

300
00:23:27.839 --> 00:23:33.039
pop culture on to a significant amount, like and even the most best selling

301
00:23:33.119 --> 00:23:41.440
tarot card deck. I believe he
he was like a what is it called

302
00:23:41.920 --> 00:23:45.680
those people who designed it, He's
like a code designer. Oh wow.

303
00:23:45.680 --> 00:23:51.960
And there's many people who still like
follow his practices even today, so he

304
00:23:52.079 --> 00:23:56.400
never really went away. Yeah,
the Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club, his

305
00:23:56.559 --> 00:24:03.000
face is right there. Wow,
thing weird. Yeah, to meet you

306
00:24:03.359 --> 00:24:08.759
yours is an Alister Crowley esque person, and a lot of the bad luck

307
00:24:10.039 --> 00:24:17.319
and even the way like the way
the publishing office and silver nitrate like it

308
00:24:17.440 --> 00:24:22.000
burnt down, similar to how all
the burning downs of his house on Lockness.

309
00:24:22.359 --> 00:24:26.480
That could be reaching, but I
thought it was like interesting. Maybe

310
00:24:26.519 --> 00:24:30.079
it's not. Maybe it's inspired from
that. Yeah, yeah, I mean

311
00:24:30.119 --> 00:24:37.119
like if anyone is going to deep
cut historic research, it is so so

312
00:24:37.240 --> 00:24:41.519
it could be it could be.
Dang, that's wild. I'm amazed.

313
00:24:41.559 --> 00:24:45.480
I'm amazed. And there's more to
it, guys, Like if you really

314
00:24:45.559 --> 00:24:49.559
deep dive, there's more to it. This is already wild. I can't

315
00:24:49.599 --> 00:24:53.000
imagine deep diving even more. I
already I think my brain would not working.

316
00:24:53.400 --> 00:24:56.400
Yeah, it's like I told you, guys, it's like a spider

317
00:24:56.480 --> 00:25:00.920
web. Even the people he know, he knows, like like what's his

318
00:25:00.039 --> 00:25:06.480
name, Parsons, Even he has
a crazy ass life. Wow, it's

319
00:25:06.519 --> 00:25:08.000
too much. I can't hand.
I can only handle what you've shared today.

320
00:25:10.400 --> 00:25:18.319
Yeah yeah, same. All right, So first the spoiler free summary

321
00:25:18.480 --> 00:25:22.079
straight from the book, and if
you haven't read it, then just I

322
00:25:22.119 --> 00:25:26.000
don't know, skip like an hour
after this. I don't know how long

323
00:25:26.039 --> 00:25:30.839
it'll take me. Okay, So
Monterrad has always been overlooked. She's a

324
00:25:32.000 --> 00:25:34.400
talented sound editor, but she's left
out of the boys club running the film

325
00:25:34.440 --> 00:25:38.880
industry in nineties Mexico City, and
she's all but invisible to her best friend

326
00:25:38.960 --> 00:25:42.839
Tistan, a charming, if faded
soap opera star, so she's been in

327
00:25:42.880 --> 00:25:48.519
love with him since childhood. Then
Tistan discovers his new neighbor is the cult

328
00:25:48.599 --> 00:25:52.279
horror director Abel Uroeta. He claims
that he can change their lives, even

329
00:25:52.359 --> 00:25:59.200
if his tail of a Nazi occult
tist imbuing magic into highly volatile silver nitrate

330
00:25:59.279 --> 00:26:03.400
stock sound like sheer fantasy. The
magic film was never finished, which is

331
00:26:03.440 --> 00:26:07.680
why his career vanished overnight. He
is cursed. Now, the director wants

332
00:26:07.720 --> 00:26:11.359
Monterral and Tristan to help him shoot
the missing scene and lift the curse,

333
00:26:11.640 --> 00:26:17.519
but Monterrat soon notices a dark presence
following her, and Taistan begins to see

334
00:26:17.559 --> 00:26:21.519
the ghost of his ex girlfriend.
As they work together to unravel the mystery

335
00:26:21.599 --> 00:26:26.000
of the film and the obscure occultists
who wants to roam their city, Montterral

336
00:26:26.039 --> 00:26:30.599
and Tristan may find that sorcerers and
magic are not only the stuff of movies.

337
00:26:30.759 --> 00:26:38.279
Also, Alistair Crowley wants visited Mexico. Oh Wow, Mexico City or

338
00:26:38.799 --> 00:26:42.000
do you know, I don't remember? Probably, I mean we're else?

339
00:26:42.000 --> 00:26:45.960
Would he go, like, other
than the Capitol ran Yeah, Mexico City.

340
00:26:45.519 --> 00:26:51.680
Oh okay, so like we all
said, we were this month ago.

341
00:26:51.799 --> 00:26:53.920
So I did my best with this
plotline summary. Just like the summary

342
00:26:55.000 --> 00:26:59.319
says, this book follows monterrat To, who I will refer to as Monzet

343
00:26:59.319 --> 00:27:04.200
from now on, a woman working
in the man's world of sound editing,

344
00:27:04.359 --> 00:27:08.720
where she struggles because sexism. Not
only that, but it's also a dying

345
00:27:08.839 --> 00:27:14.640
business. So this combination makes Monte
hate her life and be miserable. She's

346
00:27:14.759 --> 00:27:18.240
like, really, uh, what
do they call that? Kill joy?

347
00:27:18.160 --> 00:27:26.759
Little sour puss a little bit.
She sometimes frustrated me. Yeah, same,

348
00:27:30.119 --> 00:27:33.200
And also her sister has cancer,
so you know she has a lot

349
00:27:33.240 --> 00:27:38.359
of feelings. She's a lot going
on. Yeah. Monte's best friend is

350
00:27:38.480 --> 00:27:44.039
Tristan, a washed up novella star
with a bad reputation, but despite his

351
00:27:44.240 --> 00:27:47.640
geriatric age, he's still acutey.
He's a hottie. Who did you picture

352
00:27:47.720 --> 00:27:51.119
him as? Honestly, I didn't
picture anybody for ether for some reason.

353
00:27:51.319 --> 00:27:52.720
Why who did you picture? So
we share that now or at the end?

354
00:27:53.079 --> 00:27:57.440
No? Now, okay, I
pictured him as Fernando Colunga and then

355
00:27:57.880 --> 00:28:03.680
her as Show Rodriguez. That would
have been a great way to picture her.

356
00:28:03.000 --> 00:28:07.720
I didn't picture them as anybody.
Also, Gina Rodriguez, No,

357
00:28:08.519 --> 00:28:15.559
no, miss Schell Rodrigue strictly who
I pictured her as, not Miss Gino.

358
00:28:15.759 --> 00:28:19.079
No, I could see her as
Miss Gina also. Yeah, I'll

359
00:28:19.119 --> 00:28:22.640
definitely see that. The attitude wise, I could and I could see it

360
00:28:22.920 --> 00:28:26.119
attitude. Yeah, okay, you
know what, I'm starting to see it

361
00:28:26.160 --> 00:28:30.799
a little bit. Yeah, okay, okay, Well, in that case,

362
00:28:30.039 --> 00:28:36.200
I pictured them as Justin Baldoni and
Gina Rodriguez. Oh yes, I

363
00:28:36.480 --> 00:28:40.880
like that. Yeah, yeah,
because he's cute and it's so emphasized how

364
00:28:41.160 --> 00:28:44.720
hot he is. Yeah yeah,
yeah, okay, let's go with that.

365
00:28:45.519 --> 00:28:48.319
Yeah, let's go with that.
Yeah. Yeah. They're both like

366
00:28:48.319 --> 00:28:51.599
in their late thirties, like thirty
eight, I want to say it was.

367
00:28:51.880 --> 00:28:55.160
Yeah. So they've been bff since
they were kids, they grew up

368
00:28:55.200 --> 00:28:57.640
together, They've been through thick and
thin, but like in a long term,

369
00:28:59.000 --> 00:29:02.279
like a lot of long term friendships, there's a lot of resentment between

370
00:29:02.319 --> 00:29:07.240
them, and they can both be
selfish and toxic at times, especially because

371
00:29:07.319 --> 00:29:11.240
Monte has always a low key love
Tristan and he knows he's a baddie and

372
00:29:11.319 --> 00:29:15.920
Loki takes advantage of her a lot. Yeah. Also, they're both broke

373
00:29:15.039 --> 00:29:23.319
and by so they're just a couple
of broke, bisexual besties. Yeah they

374
00:29:23.359 --> 00:29:30.400
are. Tristan's bad reputation can be
attributed to his younger days of partying,

375
00:29:30.559 --> 00:29:33.240
drinking too much, and most of
all, getting into a car accident while

376
00:29:33.400 --> 00:29:38.079
drunk. In which is ex girlfriend
Karina a famous novella Nepple Baby Dies.

377
00:29:44.480 --> 00:29:49.160
Did you picture her as anyone?
Yeah? Aida from No. I picture

378
00:29:49.240 --> 00:29:56.079
someone cuter? Oh yeah, yeah, what about blonde Angel? Maybe?

379
00:29:56.240 --> 00:29:57.680
But you know, I pictured her
as oh my god, I didn't want

380
00:29:57.720 --> 00:30:04.400
to, but you know the oh
and is that her name? Oh yeah,

381
00:30:04.640 --> 00:30:07.759
yeah, the blonde one, Yeah, blonde one. Okay, I

382
00:30:07.799 --> 00:30:10.319
could see it. I could see
it. I did not picture anybody with

383
00:30:10.400 --> 00:30:15.319
the characters. They were just headless. That's so strange. I started making

384
00:30:15.359 --> 00:30:18.720
a movie and because I was like, because I nitpick, like all the

385
00:30:18.799 --> 00:30:22.480
actors and like there's very few.
Like I'm like, who would be a

386
00:30:22.519 --> 00:30:25.920
perfect role for this? And I'm
like no, no, no, no,

387
00:30:26.359 --> 00:30:30.599
no, I need somebody unknown,
somebody unknown apply for the role of

388
00:30:30.680 --> 00:30:33.920
these characters. Please, I can
just imagin I read like a whole,

389
00:30:34.160 --> 00:30:37.079
like like a series of like do
you want to be the character in my

390
00:30:37.200 --> 00:30:47.000
head? So Kadina's dad, who
never liked three Stan, blamed three Stan

391
00:30:47.079 --> 00:30:49.799
for the accident, and he fueled
a media campaign against him, which led

392
00:30:49.799 --> 00:30:55.480
to three Stand losing his novela Roles. And now he mostly makes his money

393
00:30:55.599 --> 00:31:00.799
but not enough doing voice over work. So one day gets the wrong of

394
00:31:00.839 --> 00:31:04.440
mail to his apartment and he learns
that former Golden Age movie director Abel Urueta

395
00:31:04.640 --> 00:31:08.519
is his neighbor. Tristan and Monse
used to watch his horror movies growing up,

396
00:31:08.720 --> 00:31:12.480
so this excites Tristan and he goes
right away to deliver Abel his mal

397
00:31:14.039 --> 00:31:18.720
with the hopes of befriending Abel.
And Tristan had just moved to that apartment

398
00:31:18.759 --> 00:31:22.039
complex after he broke up with his
ex Yolanda, and that is another source

399
00:31:22.279 --> 00:31:26.680
of resembling between him and Monset that
he only talks to Monse when he's single,

400
00:31:27.880 --> 00:31:32.119
otherwise he has no time for her. We all have no friends like

401
00:31:32.200 --> 00:31:37.279
that, right, yeah, yes, So Tristan and Abel start chatting,

402
00:31:37.440 --> 00:31:41.680
and Abel learns from Tristan that Monte
is his BFF and she's a sound editor,

403
00:31:42.160 --> 00:31:45.920
and the sparks Abel's interest, and
he invites Didstan to come over again

404
00:31:47.079 --> 00:31:51.480
with Monse, so then he ends
up telling her and then they go over

405
00:31:52.160 --> 00:31:56.680
or he invites them. He tells
Monse about Abel inviting them for dinner,

406
00:31:56.359 --> 00:32:00.440
and he has to convince her because
she's so she doesn't never never wants to

407
00:32:00.480 --> 00:32:04.680
do anything other than work, and
then she finally agrees. So then at

408
00:32:04.720 --> 00:32:10.400
dinner, Avestan and Monte they talk
about her movies, their childhoods how Monte

409
00:32:10.599 --> 00:32:14.680
had to defend the stand even though
she was smaller than him from Bulize,

410
00:32:15.680 --> 00:32:19.599
even from back of their childhood,
she was he was taking advantage of their

411
00:32:19.640 --> 00:32:22.720
friendship, right Yeah, And they
talked about she had to usa Kine,

412
00:32:23.200 --> 00:32:25.839
which was a child because she had
some kind of leg issue. I forgot

413
00:32:25.880 --> 00:32:30.680
exactly what it was. Monte shares
about her sound editing job and the company

414
00:32:30.799 --> 00:32:34.559
she works for, Aunt that is, and so this leads a Beil to

415
00:32:34.640 --> 00:32:37.039
ask if she can do audio editing
for movies, and then they talk about

416
00:32:37.119 --> 00:32:43.440
cursed films and then finally Avil tells
them about his film Beyond the Yellow Door

417
00:32:44.079 --> 00:32:49.559
being cursed and about one of the
film's writers, Willhelm fried fried Rich,

418
00:32:49.920 --> 00:32:52.839
Friedrich, Frederick, Frederick Fredrick.
Sorry, it can't be fried Rich,

419
00:32:54.119 --> 00:33:00.640
it has to be Frederick. So
Willhelm you yours yours. I don't know,

420
00:33:00.839 --> 00:33:04.559
but I'm saying, Willhelm, I
think it's pronounced you you weres.

421
00:33:05.279 --> 00:33:10.799
That makes more sense than yours yours
about him being a German occultist, and

422
00:33:10.920 --> 00:33:16.240
then beyond that, Wilhelm had Nazi
connections and secrets surrounding him, and Wilhelm

423
00:33:16.559 --> 00:33:22.720
told conflicting stories about himself and his
origin, conflating the secrets and mystery even

424
00:33:22.799 --> 00:33:27.880
more. Abel mentioned that Wilhelm suddenly
died after being mugged, and then the

425
00:33:27.960 --> 00:33:31.920
movie lost its funding, and then
misfortune followed the crew everybody involved, so

426
00:33:32.920 --> 00:33:38.359
things like people getting into accidents,
not getting new roles, a beil in

427
00:33:38.440 --> 00:33:45.480
his career ending. So after Monse
and Tristan leave, Monsas starts thinking about

428
00:33:45.559 --> 00:33:51.400
pitching the Beyond the Yellow Door Curse
and the story about Wilhelm being a Nazi

429
00:33:51.440 --> 00:33:57.720
occultist to a show that her friend
Cornelia works on called Enigma, and it's

430
00:33:57.759 --> 00:34:00.920
like a show like about mids conspiracy, conspiracies, UFOs, aliens, and

431
00:34:01.039 --> 00:34:04.440
whatnot. I was trying to think
of a similar show, but I couldn't

432
00:34:04.440 --> 00:34:06.720
think of like I know the shows, but I can't think of the names.

433
00:34:06.839 --> 00:34:09.400
Oh, Like for me, it
was like Coast to Coast maybe,

434
00:34:09.559 --> 00:34:15.599
but it's a TV show. I
would think like Extra Normal, yeah,

435
00:34:15.639 --> 00:34:19.599
or like what's my favorite that one
show? I like Paranormal Caught on camera,

436
00:34:20.360 --> 00:34:24.239
But it's more like someone reporting a
story, which I don't know if

437
00:34:24.280 --> 00:34:28.559
there's like an English equivalent. All
I can think of is and then there

438
00:34:28.639 --> 00:34:30.920
has to be. But I think
of like the shows like on the History

439
00:34:31.000 --> 00:34:35.360
Channel where they say, like the
Aliens built the pyramid something like that.

440
00:34:35.760 --> 00:34:42.239
Yeah. So meanwhile, Tristan doesn't
get an ad a gig that he auditioned

441
00:34:42.280 --> 00:34:45.119
for, and he gets tricked into
an interview where the reporter initially says she

442
00:34:45.199 --> 00:34:49.400
wanted to talk to him about his
voice over work, but then she started

443
00:34:49.400 --> 00:34:53.239
asking questions about his ex Garina and
about his partying, his drug use,

444
00:34:53.320 --> 00:34:58.360
his sexuality, and he gets hala
mad. So then he copes by getting

445
00:34:58.360 --> 00:35:01.079
shift faced and he goes to Montes
apartment at one am. What kind of

446
00:35:01.280 --> 00:35:05.920
unguardly hour is that? What kind
of shit is that it'd be mad,

447
00:35:06.119 --> 00:35:09.599
yeah, and then she gets through
it off yeah, and she's she's pretty

448
00:35:09.679 --> 00:35:12.719
mean to him. She said,
what the fuck are you doing here,

449
00:35:12.880 --> 00:35:19.760
dumb bitch? Basically yeah, very
yeah, but then she calms down.

450
00:35:19.840 --> 00:35:23.519
What Dhistan mentioned that next week is
a ten year anniversary of getting A's death,

451
00:35:23.679 --> 00:35:27.599
so then she feels bad. But
it's like he's milking this too.

452
00:35:28.639 --> 00:35:30.440
It's like, come on, it's
been ten years. Stop, but he's

453
00:35:30.480 --> 00:35:35.599
never worked on himself and worked through
it. Mm hmm, you're right,

454
00:35:35.800 --> 00:35:37.559
yeah, does that monces fault?
I don't think so, it's not once

455
00:35:37.599 --> 00:35:43.400
as fault. No. So they
talked a little bit about the accident,

456
00:35:43.599 --> 00:35:46.760
getting us drug use and the drinking
getting out of hand. Before the accident,

457
00:35:47.199 --> 00:35:52.719
Anthonistan not doing anything about it because
he didn't want to, like not

458
00:35:52.519 --> 00:35:57.320
telling anyone about her problems, because
he didn't want it to affect the upcoming

459
00:35:57.440 --> 00:36:00.320
project of theirs that they had together, like an upcome novela. So that's

460
00:36:00.320 --> 00:36:05.199
why he didn't say anything. So
he feels selfish about the way he thinks

461
00:36:05.199 --> 00:36:08.000
about Karina's death because he's like,
he makes it about himself no matter what,

462
00:36:08.079 --> 00:36:12.679
because he's pretty selfish. But that's
you know's how people for you.

463
00:36:13.719 --> 00:36:16.960
He can't help it? Is he
a Leo? Did they ever say?

464
00:36:17.320 --> 00:36:21.280
Probably? They don't say. I
don't think, but I would not put

465
00:36:21.360 --> 00:36:24.639
it past him very leo coded Yeah
yeah, and I do think wants to

466
00:36:24.639 --> 00:36:35.280
subscorpio. Yees. Yeah. So
then the next morning before Monset drops him

467
00:36:35.320 --> 00:36:39.280
off, recent invites Wanta to join
him and Abel for antique chopping. Cool,

468
00:36:39.840 --> 00:36:45.199
So Moncen meets with Cornelia to picture
the idea about a ben An episode

469
00:36:45.239 --> 00:36:50.760
on an avin'z movie. But Cornelia's
she's not interested and she's more interested like

470
00:36:50.840 --> 00:36:55.000
in horror stories about Likena and whatnot, which I get it fair, Yeah,

471
00:36:55.760 --> 00:37:00.840
I mean me too. Yeah,
Cornelia is interesting sit in the German

472
00:37:00.960 --> 00:37:05.880
occultist angle, so she asked Montet
to find out more information about Wilhelm and

473
00:37:06.159 --> 00:37:09.199
to film a pre interview with Abed
and mind you, this is unpaid labor,

474
00:37:09.280 --> 00:37:15.039
but okay, yeah yeah. The
weekend rolls around, so then they

475
00:37:15.360 --> 00:37:21.599
go antique shopping at the Lagunia market
where they come across a Nazi memorabilia hard

476
00:37:21.679 --> 00:37:24.920
word, good job. They talk
a little bit more about Wilhelm, Wilhelm

477
00:37:25.159 --> 00:37:32.440
probably being a Nazi after they see
some Nazi shit at this uh antique place,

478
00:37:34.159 --> 00:37:37.519
and so then Avil tells them about
the gold Shirts, which MJ informed

479
00:37:37.559 --> 00:37:43.800
us about. Yes, think you, MJ. And Abel says that Wilhelm

480
00:37:44.039 --> 00:37:46.239
is a lot more subtle with this
was a lot more subtle with his racism,

481
00:37:46.599 --> 00:37:52.000
and he was more into Ruin's magic
and film. But he admits that

482
00:37:52.239 --> 00:38:00.519
occultists believed racist theories about eugenics and
Arian superiority, and Wilhelm was the not

483
00:38:00.599 --> 00:38:04.760
any different, and that he meddled
in eugenic groups, but that more than

484
00:38:04.800 --> 00:38:07.719
a racist, he was like an
opportunistic kind of person. Yeah. I

485
00:38:07.760 --> 00:38:15.320
also like how Sylvia always really puts
emphasis on eugenics in a lot of her

486
00:38:15.360 --> 00:38:17.719
books. She really does, because
it's there. It's there, it's not,

487
00:38:19.039 --> 00:38:21.119
I don't know, it talked about
enough, and she just weased it

488
00:38:21.159 --> 00:38:27.199
into this fantastic story with history and
horror and amazing m So, when they

489
00:38:27.239 --> 00:38:30.719
get back to it, but it's
an apartment, he tells the Montsanti stand

490
00:38:30.800 --> 00:38:36.519
more about Wilhelm and how Wilhelm thought
Arians were a superior race they had magical

491
00:38:36.599 --> 00:38:42.000
abilities, but also that the Aztec
and Inca had magical ability, so he

492
00:38:42.079 --> 00:38:46.960
thought Mexicans descending from the Aztec and
Inca were also capable of magical abilities,

493
00:38:47.599 --> 00:38:54.239
and he tells them that Wilhelm thought
films were magical, a belief he learned

494
00:38:54.440 --> 00:39:00.360
from famous occultist Alistair Crowley. Again, thank you, m Jennie, and

495
00:39:00.480 --> 00:39:05.960
that Wilhelm believed that magic rights needed
to be performed in front of a large

496
00:39:06.000 --> 00:39:09.519
audience, and the energy from the
large audience would power the spells being cast

497
00:39:09.800 --> 00:39:16.119
in the film, and that a
film a shot with silver nitrate specifically,

498
00:39:16.400 --> 00:39:22.280
would be like a powerful conduit because
silver is a powerful conduit for spells.

499
00:39:22.960 --> 00:39:27.280
So hopefully I explained that good because
it was a lot like on ways it

500
00:39:27.360 --> 00:39:31.599
made sense. It made sense.
So Abel tells them that shooting the film

501
00:39:31.679 --> 00:39:37.760
Beyond the Yellow Door was hella expensive
despite having a wealthy patron, and one

502
00:39:37.800 --> 00:39:44.400
of those reasons was because Wilhelm wanted
the film dubbed because of his magic systems

503
00:39:44.480 --> 00:39:49.000
ideas and whatever. He talks more
about that, He talks more about who

504
00:39:49.079 --> 00:39:53.039
the patren was, and they found
out it was silent film star Alma Montero,

505
00:39:53.519 --> 00:39:58.440
and then I won't say it wants
to interview Abel for Enigma, but

506
00:39:58.559 --> 00:40:00.199
he's not really into it, and
then they leave. He's like closed off.

507
00:40:00.239 --> 00:40:04.360
When she starts like asking him,
he immediately stops talking. Yeah,

508
00:40:04.400 --> 00:40:10.960
and she's very direct, Yeah yeah, in a way is there upfront brute?

509
00:40:13.119 --> 00:40:17.920
Yeah yeah. There's no charismatic approach
to her line of questioning. Unlike

510
00:40:19.000 --> 00:40:24.199
Tristan, she has no risk.
Yeah yeah, so I but it's not

511
00:40:24.320 --> 00:40:29.599
into it. And so next Mona
tries to research more about Wilhelm, but

512
00:40:29.760 --> 00:40:32.360
she barely finds any information on him, and then she also can't find a

513
00:40:32.440 --> 00:40:37.199
copy of Beyond the Yellow Door.
She considers visiting a horn dot creep that

514
00:40:37.280 --> 00:40:42.599
she knows Fernando to help her with
the research, but she doesn't want to

515
00:40:42.599 --> 00:40:45.199
deal with him, so she decides
against it at this point, and then

516
00:40:45.239 --> 00:40:50.039
she ends up finding a picture of
Abel Alma Montero and some pretty lady named

517
00:40:50.159 --> 00:41:00.519
Clarimont Bauer and Wilhelm yours, yours, yours, and they sorry. They

518
00:41:00.639 --> 00:41:04.960
hang out with a bell again,
and he ends up telling Monsen Tristan a

519
00:41:05.000 --> 00:41:08.519
little bit more about Wilhelm, including
a time when it Wilhelm surrounded a ghost

520
00:41:08.559 --> 00:41:15.000
at a seance. So even also
tells them about Wilhelm's belief that if sound

521
00:41:15.079 --> 00:41:20.760
and visuals emerged, it would have
produce powerful magic. So the dialogue of

522
00:41:20.880 --> 00:41:24.400
the film being the Spell, the
three actors on the screen, the magicians

523
00:41:24.679 --> 00:41:30.360
and the Runes, would be projected
during the credits and then all shot as

524
00:41:30.440 --> 00:41:34.559
a movie for cohesion and for the
magic to build up over time, like

525
00:41:34.679 --> 00:41:37.679
as the movie's plane something like that. Also, this before you go on

526
00:41:37.800 --> 00:41:45.119
This reminds me of the movie Incantation
on Netflix. I haven't seen it,

527
00:41:45.400 --> 00:41:46.679
and remember how everybody's like, oh
my god, if you watch it,

528
00:41:46.800 --> 00:41:52.480
it's like you're actively participating in like
witchcraft or something, and you'd have nightmares.

529
00:41:52.880 --> 00:41:55.440
I remember when it came out,
everybody was streaking out, which it

530
00:41:55.559 --> 00:42:00.559
reminded me of that, like the
Yellow Door. Yes, this is also

531
00:42:00.599 --> 00:42:06.639
what people said about American horror story
Thede with the oh aha yeah, where

532
00:42:06.679 --> 00:42:08.800
they say the guy's name and they're
like, oh, if you see it,

533
00:42:08.880 --> 00:42:13.840
you're like participator in and letting them
into your house. It's just similar

534
00:42:13.960 --> 00:42:20.400
to what like yours is trying to
scare creep not watching those that movie or

535
00:42:20.480 --> 00:42:23.360
that episode. So i Bil tells
them that the goal of the Spell was

536
00:42:23.440 --> 00:42:28.920
for Alma to have a comeback and
get some of her youthful beauty back and

537
00:42:29.039 --> 00:42:32.039
that he Wilhelm and Alma were going
to be the magicians, but then Alma

538
00:42:32.199 --> 00:42:37.920
was recast and the role was given
to Claremont because of Wilhelm in Agingavahito kind

539
00:42:37.920 --> 00:42:42.920
of way led to Alma and he
actually wanted to use a spell to save

540
00:42:43.079 --> 00:42:45.159
his life because he was sick,
and at least that's what he told them

541
00:42:45.400 --> 00:42:52.079
at that point. So the spell
required three spell casters, the father in

542
00:42:52.199 --> 00:42:58.320
all powerful male force, the son
the innocent, and the mother the feminine

543
00:42:58.519 --> 00:43:04.440
principle of magic, the Holy Trinity. Yeah, exactly. So Avel has

544
00:43:04.480 --> 00:43:07.480
a full blown cheese my session with
them and he tells them like, you

545
00:43:07.559 --> 00:43:10.079
know, the whole thing that went
down or that whole thing went to shit

546
00:43:10.159 --> 00:43:15.960
when Alma found out, and that
they also found out that Claremont and Wilhelm

547
00:43:16.159 --> 00:43:20.280
were hooking up. And I don't
think I mentioned it, but Clairemont was

548
00:43:20.920 --> 00:43:23.679
Avel's fiance, which is why it
was a big deal. Yes, yeah,

549
00:43:23.880 --> 00:43:29.719
yeah, And so Wilhelm and Claremont
were cheating on their spouses Alma and

550
00:43:30.000 --> 00:43:35.480
Avin and hooking up and Alma only
found out because another friend and part of

551
00:43:35.599 --> 00:43:42.679
their little culture's group, Jose so
Alma cut the whole thing off. She

552
00:43:42.800 --> 00:43:47.039
confiscated the film, and then Wilhelm
died not of an illness but being mugged,

553
00:43:47.400 --> 00:43:53.440
and battleck followed everybody after that.
So then Abel agrees to help Monsee

554
00:43:53.639 --> 00:43:59.440
with the Enigma Show if she helps
him finish the movie, thus finishing the

555
00:43:59.480 --> 00:44:02.920
spell to hopefully break the curse.
A Ben tells them he has the scene

556
00:44:02.960 --> 00:44:07.599
still and he was able to hide
it before Alma confiscated the film, and

557
00:44:07.760 --> 00:44:14.559
Monte is shocked, shocked that he
has a can, a silver nitrate can,

558
00:44:15.440 --> 00:44:19.480
which because it's dangerous, it's a
fire waiting to happen. And so

559
00:44:20.599 --> 00:44:23.760
they Tristan and go back on and
forth on whether to help Abel or not,

560
00:44:23.840 --> 00:44:27.840
but they ultimately decide to help him, and so they record the audio

561
00:44:28.480 --> 00:44:30.440
for the scene, like to double
it over whatever they have to do.

562
00:44:31.199 --> 00:44:37.840
So Tristan ends up getting an offer
for a lead role for novella after they

563
00:44:37.960 --> 00:44:42.800
filmed this, and then something good
happens to have been too, but I

564
00:44:42.840 --> 00:44:45.840
forgot about it was. I don't
remember what happens to a Bel either,

565
00:44:45.039 --> 00:44:50.639
but I do know that once his
sister doesn't have can she yeah, she's

566
00:44:50.719 --> 00:44:57.119
cured over cancer after this, Tristan
got the novella, the novella what happened

567
00:44:57.119 --> 00:45:00.360
to a Ben? I don't remember. I guess I didn't write it down.

568
00:45:00.800 --> 00:45:02.559
Doesn't he get like money from something? He gets like No, he

569
00:45:02.639 --> 00:45:07.320
gets like a I want to say, it's like a film that's going to

570
00:45:07.360 --> 00:45:10.679
be made about him, like a
honoring him, or like a little something

571
00:45:10.880 --> 00:45:14.719
like that. I want to say, yeah, yeah, that sounds right.

572
00:45:15.280 --> 00:45:19.360
Yeah. So then they go back
to Avel's apartment to hang out with

573
00:45:19.440 --> 00:45:22.320
him and to give him a copy
of the film the scene that they filmed,

574
00:45:22.920 --> 00:45:29.280
and there Abel gives Monse a book
that belonged to Wilhelm, called the

575
00:45:29.400 --> 00:45:31.760
House of Infinite Wisdom. So then
they get drunk and they get back to

576
00:45:31.880 --> 00:45:37.119
Montes and Tristan tries to hook up
with mont because he's drunk and horny,

577
00:45:37.199 --> 00:45:44.320
but she turns him down. And
then the spookiness it starts right away right

578
00:45:44.400 --> 00:45:47.719
after this. So Tristan sees a
figure in the hallway and at first he

579
00:45:47.800 --> 00:45:52.760
thinks it's Monse, but then he
realizes that Oncet left and also it's not

580
00:45:52.800 --> 00:45:57.599
a person at all. It's Garina's
ghost. It was blood coming at her

581
00:45:57.719 --> 00:46:00.360
mouth that scared me. Yeah,
I read it. It's like the same

582
00:46:01.360 --> 00:46:05.480
or when I listened to it,
Yeah, yeah, and it's like things.

583
00:46:05.599 --> 00:46:09.360
They thought the spell was working because
things were going good until he starts

584
00:46:09.360 --> 00:46:14.199
seeing and I think it starts going
bad for him first because he starts seeing

585
00:46:15.360 --> 00:46:19.159
Karina's ghosts. Yeah, but then
slowly as you'll you'll go into it,

586
00:46:19.480 --> 00:46:24.239
everything goes to shad for them.
Yeah, bad luck. So Montas starts

587
00:46:24.280 --> 00:46:31.199
reading it Wilhelm's book, and she
becomes obsessed, but she learns basically how

588
00:46:31.239 --> 00:46:38.079
to do magic and ruins from becoming
obsessed. So she's having fun celebrating with

589
00:46:38.159 --> 00:46:42.599
her sister Adiselli, you know,
about her being cancer free. And then

590
00:46:42.639 --> 00:46:45.480
when she comes back home, she
comes back to hella messages from Tristan and

591
00:46:45.599 --> 00:46:50.079
so finally she goes over there.
Anthonysaan tells her that he saw Karina and

592
00:46:50.159 --> 00:46:52.480
she doesn't really believe. She thinks
that he's on drugs because he's you know,

593
00:46:52.880 --> 00:47:00.679
been issues in the past. Yeah. Yeah. So then also shows

594
00:47:00.760 --> 00:47:06.199
monset envelope he received address to Abel, and it contains feathers, seven rusty

595
00:47:06.320 --> 00:47:09.400
nails, and a long piece of
thread nodded seven times and they're like what

596
00:47:09.519 --> 00:47:14.239
the fuck? And they're like,
Abel has explaining to do. So they

597
00:47:14.320 --> 00:47:15.880
go to Aven and he's like,
this is just a protection spell from my

598
00:47:15.920 --> 00:47:19.199
friend Jose, and they're like why
do we, like, why should we

599
00:47:19.199 --> 00:47:22.840
need a protection like you said this
was just to lift the curse, Like

600
00:47:22.880 --> 00:47:25.159
what the fuck? He's like,
oh, I kind of left some stuff

601
00:47:25.199 --> 00:47:32.400
out. So then they tell avel
that Ristan saw Karina's ghost and they're like,

602
00:47:32.440 --> 00:47:36.360
well, maybe this Jose guy can
help us, but Avent shows Sasha

603
00:47:36.480 --> 00:47:39.320
down and he's like, no,
Jose doesn't want to revisit his past about

604
00:47:39.320 --> 00:47:45.199
Wilhelm and whatever, and so then
he just advises Tristan to light white candles

605
00:47:45.239 --> 00:47:51.119
and get flowers or incense to appease
Garina's ghost. Eventually, Montet finds a

606
00:47:51.199 --> 00:47:54.639
secret message Wilhelm wrote in the book
and it's basically his life story. So

607
00:47:55.119 --> 00:48:01.159
to summarize, he's a shitty,
racist murderer. That is the yeah,

608
00:48:01.679 --> 00:48:07.360
yeah, perfect summary. So after
she finishes reading Wilhelm's life story, she

609
00:48:07.400 --> 00:48:10.159
gets a call from Abel and he
tells her he's going to die at two

610
00:48:10.239 --> 00:48:14.840
twenty nine pm. So then she
races to meet him at the shopping center

611
00:48:14.920 --> 00:48:19.079
he's at Abel that tells Monte that
she had a vision that his throat was

612
00:48:19.159 --> 00:48:24.719
slashed and when he was into you
know, the cult and learning magic whatever

613
00:48:24.880 --> 00:48:28.960
his skill set was, Claire,
I can never say this word, Claire,

614
00:48:29.920 --> 00:48:32.719
clairvoyance. Yeah, and one of
the two. I said, one

615
00:48:32.760 --> 00:48:36.679
of the two, I said,
Clari, because you both said clairvoyance and

616
00:48:36.719 --> 00:48:40.159
I said clairvoyance. See, oh, it's like the same thing basically.

617
00:48:40.800 --> 00:48:46.159
So he also tells Moncet that he
got a call from Alma Montero threatening him

618
00:48:47.400 --> 00:48:52.840
that for him to give her the
film and anything he owns of Wilhelms or

619
00:48:52.920 --> 00:48:57.440
he'd be sorry, and that she
knew he was dabbling with Wilhelm's spell.

620
00:48:57.639 --> 00:49:02.800
So then he survived past two twenty
nine pm emphasis on pm PM and Monce

621
00:49:04.000 --> 00:49:07.000
gives him a ride to his apartment. But first I better throw some nils

622
00:49:07.039 --> 00:49:10.800
behind his back as they walk away, like as a counter spell. So

623
00:49:12.400 --> 00:49:15.760
then Mons agrees to get the film
from Montha. It's on Monday. She

624
00:49:15.840 --> 00:49:19.679
can't go until then because they're clothes
or something. But I bet it does

625
00:49:19.719 --> 00:49:22.920
not make it to Monday, just
like his vision, his throat was slashed

626
00:49:22.960 --> 00:49:27.599
at two twenty nine am, And
how did he not think of am being

627
00:49:27.639 --> 00:49:31.159
a possibility. I know he really
thought he was good. Yeah. So,

628
00:49:31.360 --> 00:49:37.039
when Mons discovers AB's body she experiences
in his apartment, she experiences a

629
00:49:37.320 --> 00:49:42.559
deafening silence like no other lack of
presence. She feels a presence there,

630
00:49:43.039 --> 00:49:45.840
and when she tries to leave the
apartment, the doorknob burned her, So

631
00:49:45.960 --> 00:49:51.320
she's like, what the fuck is
going on? And Monce later learns that

632
00:49:51.840 --> 00:49:54.559
Tristan was unavailable. She tries calling
him when this is going on. He's

633
00:49:54.800 --> 00:50:00.280
unavailable during all of this because he's
hooking up with his ex, so she's

634
00:50:00.280 --> 00:50:07.239
still getting surpressed. Surprise, surprise, he's been a hoe. Oh and

635
00:50:07.480 --> 00:50:13.239
Monte gets arrested as a person of
interest for Aven's murder, and he does

636
00:50:13.400 --> 00:50:15.760
end up bailing her out, so
at least he showed up at some point

637
00:50:15.840 --> 00:50:22.679
right at the point some point eventually
he does save her from JOm So Monte

638
00:50:22.800 --> 00:50:27.719
and Tristan decide to spend their Christmas
figuring out who killed Abel, and they

639
00:50:27.800 --> 00:50:34.400
figure either Jose Claremont or Alma will
have answers, so Tristan agrees to use

640
00:50:34.480 --> 00:50:38.880
his connections in the entertainment network or
business to get Alma's contact info, but

641
00:50:39.000 --> 00:50:43.119
in the meantime, they break into
Avant's apartment, which is now a crime

642
00:50:43.159 --> 00:50:46.920
scene, to retrieve the footage they
filmed, but it's gone, it's not

643
00:50:47.039 --> 00:50:52.400
there. Don't don't dun. Monte
suspects that Willhelm didn't die from being mugged

644
00:50:52.519 --> 00:50:57.880
and that maybe Alma had a role
in his death. Tristan ends up getting

645
00:50:57.880 --> 00:51:01.559
Alma's number and he talks who to
who he thinks is her niece, and

646
00:51:01.719 --> 00:51:07.480
then yeah, he and Monset meet
with said niece. They mentioned they want

647
00:51:07.519 --> 00:51:13.719
to niece quote. I called it, Yeah, I called it immediately.

648
00:51:13.840 --> 00:51:17.360
I was like, I don't know
about that. So they mentioned that they

649
00:51:17.440 --> 00:51:22.039
want to talk to Alma, but
her niece informs them that Alma no longer

650
00:51:22.159 --> 00:51:27.440
does interviews after suffering from a stroke. So they talk about Wilhelm for a

651
00:51:27.559 --> 00:51:31.760
bit, and then they learn about
his cult from Almasnie and that Claremont and

652
00:51:31.960 --> 00:51:37.840
Jose remain loyal followers of Wilhelm's cult
and that the cult remains active. Monte

653
00:51:38.039 --> 00:51:44.800
mentioned to Tristan that she felt bad
vibes, the vibes were off from Almasnie.

654
00:51:45.199 --> 00:51:49.639
She was right, yeah, she
was. Then Monte ends up meeting

655
00:51:49.679 --> 00:51:53.920
with that creep Fernando to get Jose's
contact info, but before she does that,

656
00:51:54.119 --> 00:52:00.320
she practices wilhelms runs. I don't
remember how she doesn't, but anyway,

657
00:52:00.480 --> 00:52:04.679
she sees them and then she like
it's like just writing on a piece

658
00:52:04.719 --> 00:52:09.039
of paper or something. I didn't
remember the occasion that leads her to part

659
00:52:09.119 --> 00:52:12.960
Like is she like, is she
just at home practicing? Like that's what

660
00:52:13.039 --> 00:52:15.199
I remember, Like, yeah,
I thought she was. Okay, she

661
00:52:15.320 --> 00:52:20.960
might be, yeah, okay,
that's the only place she goes. She's

662
00:52:21.039 --> 00:52:25.559
out on the street doing research now. So Fermeno doesn't have hosts in number,

663
00:52:27.039 --> 00:52:31.440
but he tells Montet that she can
find Josset at this one coffee shop

664
00:52:31.480 --> 00:52:36.360
where he frequents. Montt goes there, but she doesn't find hosts, so

665
00:52:37.119 --> 00:52:43.559
instead she heads to the building of
Claremont's publishing company. She heads there after

666
00:52:43.679 --> 00:52:45.920
she leaves the restanding message letting him
know where she's going to be. So

667
00:52:46.119 --> 00:52:52.440
while she is at the b building, she gets the same creepy feeling she

668
00:52:52.519 --> 00:52:55.880
had at Aveda's apartment and something was
for her name that was scary. Also,

669
00:52:57.400 --> 00:53:01.840
oh Anne touches her hand and then
she runs out a building naturally,

670
00:53:02.239 --> 00:53:08.079
Yes, naturally. So she runs
outside and she runs into Tristan, who

671
00:53:09.039 --> 00:53:13.599
is his shirt collar is covering a
blood for some reason. So then it

672
00:53:13.679 --> 00:53:17.400
turns out that Tristan was bleeding because
he saw Karina's ghost again at a photo

673
00:53:17.440 --> 00:53:21.599
shoot he was doing, and he
tries to run away when he saw her,

674
00:53:21.639 --> 00:53:23.440
and then he hit his face and
this is not a good look at

675
00:53:23.519 --> 00:53:29.920
the photoshooters that's supposed to relaunched his
career. And the agent I forgot her

676
00:53:29.960 --> 00:53:34.639
name already whatever, she thinks he's
on drugs again, So then it's the

677
00:53:34.719 --> 00:53:37.400
bad look. Yeah, you know
what happens to Monsett, Like all her

678
00:53:37.440 --> 00:53:42.039
hours get cut at her job.
I think that's right. That happens too.

679
00:53:42.440 --> 00:53:45.760
Yeah, So Tristan wants him to
get Olympia and burn all of Wilhelm's

680
00:53:45.800 --> 00:53:50.079
things, but Monse does not want
to burn his things. Wilhelm things,

681
00:53:50.159 --> 00:53:54.039
She's obsessed. Yeah, So then
they argue about that and Monce gets Hella

682
00:53:54.119 --> 00:54:00.280
mat at Triestan because he insinuates that
Mose has a crush on Wilhelm and that

683
00:54:00.400 --> 00:54:02.719
she tends to get crushes. The
way he says it, he's like,

684
00:54:04.079 --> 00:54:06.960
that's almosted up. He couldn't,
like, like it's a low blow,

685
00:54:07.039 --> 00:54:13.320
and of course he would think that
because he's a conceited leo, like there's

686
00:54:13.400 --> 00:54:16.320
no yeah, yeah, but he's
right. She does. She has had

687
00:54:16.320 --> 00:54:20.639
a crush on him since they were
kids. No, but she for sure

688
00:54:20.679 --> 00:54:23.280
doesn't have a crush on Wilhelm.
She's upset, no magic, yeah,

689
00:54:23.440 --> 00:54:30.159
and like enveloped by it. But
she Yeah, I didn't get crush vibes.

690
00:54:30.559 --> 00:54:32.760
No, no, yeah, he
just assumes because it's a man,

691
00:54:34.320 --> 00:54:37.400
I guess. Yeah. He also
comes off a little like jealous. Yeah,

692
00:54:37.559 --> 00:54:42.800
no he is, and he talks
about feeling jealous. Yeah. They

693
00:54:42.840 --> 00:54:45.199
get over their little fight and they
decide to look for Claramont and he'll set

694
00:54:45.280 --> 00:54:50.880
for help before Tristan. And once
I go to Claremont, Tristan meets up

695
00:54:50.920 --> 00:54:53.639
again with Alma's niece, Medisa.
I did write her name. I guess

696
00:54:53.679 --> 00:54:57.719
she asked to me with him,
because she expresses like some concern about Alma

697
00:54:57.840 --> 00:55:04.559
or something. So Ustan and Medissa
are hella flirty, but she gets straight

698
00:55:04.599 --> 00:55:07.320
to the point and she's like,
if you and Monce have any of Wilhelm's

699
00:55:07.360 --> 00:55:10.679
belongings, I'll buy them off of
you. My aunt wants them whatever.

700
00:55:10.960 --> 00:55:15.199
So then Marissa also tells them that
the colt has been more active than ever

701
00:55:15.920 --> 00:55:22.119
and that she's seen Wilhelm's ruins near
her home and that Wilhelm is was and

702
00:55:22.239 --> 00:55:27.280
may still be a dangerous man.
So is like, weird out and he's

703
00:55:27.360 --> 00:55:30.199
like, well, we don't even
have anything of Wilhelms. I don't know

704
00:55:30.199 --> 00:55:31.800
why you think that, and then
he leaves whatever, But she must she

705
00:55:31.920 --> 00:55:36.840
knows about the book, right,
yeah, she does. Yeah. Later

706
00:55:37.039 --> 00:55:42.960
once Tristan show up unannounced to Claremont's
house and they learned that Claremont is the

707
00:55:43.000 --> 00:55:47.559
one who stole the film from Abel
not what's her name, Alma, and

708
00:55:47.840 --> 00:55:52.199
she lies and says that ivn't sold
it to her for protection and they're like,

709
00:55:52.320 --> 00:55:55.880
well that was some good protection.
He fucking died, bitch. So

710
00:56:00.480 --> 00:56:06.320
also tells Sadistan and Mons that in
casting the spell with Aven they said things

711
00:56:07.239 --> 00:56:10.719
meaning Wilhelm's magic and emotion again and
to end the curse they need to finish

712
00:56:10.840 --> 00:56:15.239
the spell and bringing Wilhelm back to
life. So she tells him that the

713
00:56:15.480 --> 00:56:20.360
actual goal of the spell was to
bring Wilhelm back like not only to cure

714
00:56:20.400 --> 00:56:24.639
his illness, but like I mean
later they put the pieces together from reading.

715
00:56:25.159 --> 00:56:29.400
Yeah, that he was gonna like
end his own life and then he

716
00:56:29.480 --> 00:56:30.719
was gonna be brought back to life
or whatever. That was a whole to

717
00:56:30.800 --> 00:56:39.320
be all powerful like Jesus. Yeah, just like Easter and or as they

718
00:56:40.119 --> 00:56:44.480
are rebranding. No, they're not
rebranding. But did you see everyone calling

719
00:56:44.519 --> 00:56:47.199
it Resurrection Sunday instead of Easter and
they're like making a whole big deal about

720
00:56:47.199 --> 00:56:52.400
it. Oh, because like Easter
is the thing for Esther. Yeah,

721
00:56:52.480 --> 00:56:57.079
Istar, Istar is it? I
don't know how to pronounce it, Ishtar.

722
00:56:58.000 --> 00:57:01.480
That sounds familiar. Whatever is the
goddess of fertility. Yeah, Easter

723
00:57:01.760 --> 00:57:06.800
is based off of mm hmmmm,
so that's why it sounds familiar. Yeah,

724
00:57:07.199 --> 00:57:10.039
it's a pagan holiday, guys.
And also I started writing Claire instead

725
00:57:10.039 --> 00:57:16.320
the Claremont because my hands got real
tired. So Claire Claria gets Claire gets

726
00:57:16.440 --> 00:57:21.159
mad when Monsa tells her they need
to think about it before handing the film

727
00:57:21.239 --> 00:57:25.679
over, and Claire attempts to cast
a spell on them, but once it's

728
00:57:25.719 --> 00:57:30.760
in her witchy era, so she
casts the counterspell and they leave. It

729
00:57:30.920 --> 00:57:35.400
works because she's learned the magic,
so it sounds scary. He's so scared.

730
00:57:37.239 --> 00:57:39.320
Yeah, I feel him because I
would be the stunned in this situation,

731
00:57:39.920 --> 00:57:45.920
me too, and MJ would be
mone she would company. Yeah,

732
00:57:47.159 --> 00:58:01.000
I mean you can stop. Are
you scaring me? Okay? So back

733
00:58:01.079 --> 00:58:07.440
at Months's apartment after waking up at
almost god forsaken time at three a m.

734
00:58:08.119 --> 00:58:15.320
Yeah, see, that's why you
should be scared up. So she

735
00:58:15.519 --> 00:58:21.440
hears she hears someone saying follow me
into the night, and first she thinks

736
00:58:21.480 --> 00:58:23.480
it's Three Stand But why the hell
would he say that? And also she

737
00:58:23.679 --> 00:58:29.599
realizes it's not his voice because they
were laying in bed together. Yeah,

738
00:58:29.880 --> 00:58:32.639
oh yeah yeah, and then she's
like, oh, why so like spooning

739
00:58:32.719 --> 00:58:37.679
me? Why am I little spoon? But it was interesting, Yeah,

740
00:58:37.800 --> 00:58:42.199
it was not him. It was
so creepy. I feel like yours has

741
00:58:42.320 --> 00:58:45.599
like so like it's becoming as obsessed
with once as she is with him.

742
00:58:46.159 --> 00:58:53.000
Yeah, because that's his ticket to
becoming again. Yeah again. Yeah.

743
00:58:54.920 --> 00:58:59.119
The next day, the Stand tells
Monce they're gonna have to pick a side

744
00:58:59.320 --> 00:59:01.360
Claire or give one of them the
film, and I was like, no,

745
00:59:01.519 --> 00:59:06.039
we're keeping the film. So they
go back to Three Stands apartment only

746
00:59:06.119 --> 00:59:08.880
to find that it's been ramsacked,
probably by Claire or Alma looking for the

747
00:59:08.960 --> 00:59:13.880
film. And a and I don't
know if I'm pronouncing this right, A

748
00:59:14.039 --> 00:59:22.360
vegue veg viser vig visir, vig
visir. Okay, that sounds more.

749
00:59:22.719 --> 00:59:24.440
Yeah, sounds better than how I
said it. So yeah, a veg

750
00:59:24.519 --> 00:59:29.840
visir symbol was painted above his bed. And this is one of the symbols

751
00:59:30.480 --> 00:59:34.679
or runs that Will Holme uses and
wrote about in his book. So then

752
00:59:34.719 --> 00:59:38.000
they get a buzz from the intercom
and a man Jose turns out to be

753
00:59:38.039 --> 00:59:42.480
Josse, tells them that they're being
followed and they need to get the fuck

754
00:59:42.559 --> 00:59:47.840
out. So they're fleeing and they
they're fleeing with Josse. They follow Josse

755
00:59:49.199 --> 00:59:52.639
and they're fleeing and they almost get
attacked by like these evil magical dogs,

756
00:59:52.000 --> 00:59:57.079
but with the help of Hossa's magic, they get away. Hossys I covered

757
00:59:57.119 --> 01:00:00.599
also in tattoos of like his own
style of rune, so that's pretty cool.

758
01:00:00.880 --> 01:00:06.320
Joset tells them that cleares people the
cult were behind the attack, but

759
01:00:06.400 --> 01:00:09.920
they're not the ones that broke into
three Stands apartment that was Alma. There's

760
01:00:10.039 --> 01:00:15.679
just been an attack left and right, both sides. Yeah, So Joset

761
01:00:15.800 --> 01:00:22.440
tells them that Wilhelms spell needs to
be undone because when monse the spell,

762
01:00:22.639 --> 01:00:27.920
it led to a sort of a
nuclear explosion but for magic, and now

763
01:00:28.119 --> 01:00:31.639
all of the magic partictioners are hell
strong. Josset also tells them that Alma

764
01:00:31.800 --> 01:00:36.320
has an aged a day since Wilhelm's
death, and they're like, oh,

765
01:00:37.599 --> 01:00:43.760
Marisa is Alma. But also,
hadn't Monts has seen a picture of her?

766
01:00:44.079 --> 01:00:47.159
Wouldn't you have recognized her? Yeah, but she looks slightly different.

767
01:00:47.199 --> 01:00:51.000
I think I came up with the
theory for this, and that's like she

768
01:00:51.159 --> 01:00:54.360
was a movie star, so she
either wore prosthetics or she got cosmetic surgery.

769
01:00:54.719 --> 01:01:00.639
That was my theory that I felt
the same about surgery. But there's

770
01:01:00.679 --> 01:01:02.400
something like they like, look for
mill it's her. It looks like her,

771
01:01:02.480 --> 01:01:07.360
but it doesn't look like her and
like not identical, just resemblance,

772
01:01:07.440 --> 01:01:13.079
a strong resemblance. That's why I
thought she either got cosmetic surgery or the

773
01:01:14.360 --> 01:01:20.800
wearing prosthetics. This makes sense now, So then Jose admits that Alma stabbed

774
01:01:20.880 --> 01:01:24.880
Wilhelm after Jose told her the truth
about Wilhelm's lies and cheating, and Jose

775
01:01:25.079 --> 01:01:30.079
tells him a little bit more about
Wilhelms could and how he organized it,

776
01:01:30.400 --> 01:01:36.920
like on a racial hierarchy, giving
power and preferential treatment to Whitexicans, to

777
01:01:37.000 --> 01:01:39.719
the white Tinos. Yes, the
white Tinos. With the song, I

778
01:01:39.840 --> 01:01:43.440
was like, pause, did you
guys hear that song? Yeah, he

779
01:01:43.519 --> 01:01:51.719
sent it to me something everyone else
very Latino vibes. I threw up a

780
01:01:51.760 --> 01:01:57.519
little bit when I saw it.
Yeah, she get trolled so hard deserved,

781
01:01:58.880 --> 01:02:01.039
so she would be a part of
this called I'm just kidding one hundred

782
01:02:01.039 --> 01:02:07.679
percent, she would be preferred in
this hierarchy. So then here Jose talks

783
01:02:07.679 --> 01:02:14.639
about elite Mexicans loving their European roots
and the ideology of bettering the race or

784
01:02:14.880 --> 01:02:19.159
mejor la rasa as it's known in
Spanish. So Josed tells him that he

785
01:02:19.360 --> 01:02:23.079
was down to kill Wilhelm because Willielm
had no chill, no limits to what

786
01:02:23.239 --> 01:02:30.159
he would do for power, and
that Wilhelm was planning on killing an unhoused

787
01:02:30.199 --> 01:02:34.079
person for the final ruin of his
spell. So he was like, fuck

788
01:02:34.119 --> 01:02:37.519
this man. So Tistana is over
it. He's like, just cut us

789
01:02:37.559 --> 01:02:39.920
loose, from this, like I
want nothing to do with this, please,

790
01:02:40.400 --> 01:02:49.199
and he's like oh yeahweh yahway and
who says like, I'm sorry,

791
01:02:49.280 --> 01:02:52.639
baby boy, but you're in it
now. And that's what they get for

792
01:02:52.719 --> 01:02:55.400
being a part of the me teachers
and for helping him Ben. You know,

793
01:02:55.519 --> 01:02:59.960
they didn't know and neither did I
bet he didn't know the full truth.

794
01:03:00.800 --> 01:03:01.679
No, but they should have been
like it sounds too good to be

795
01:03:01.800 --> 01:03:05.639
true. And well they talk about
it, and they did, but they're

796
01:03:05.719 --> 01:03:09.159
like, it's just a harmless man
with fantasies. They convinced themselves, because

797
01:03:09.199 --> 01:03:14.000
in the end, what's the harmon? Yeah, he's gonna get his wish,

798
01:03:14.239 --> 01:03:16.280
we might get good luck or nothing
happening. Yeah, And then like

799
01:03:16.360 --> 01:03:22.199
the entire time I thought Uta was
going to sacrifice them, I was like,

800
01:03:22.280 --> 01:03:27.840
oh no, you thought I thought
he was bad. He was just

801
01:03:27.960 --> 01:03:34.800
he's just a naive as it's a
promise. Yeah. Yeah. So Jose

802
01:03:35.000 --> 01:03:37.400
tells them that they can end a
spell by replicating it as much as possible

803
01:03:37.760 --> 01:03:42.239
by using the six runs and their
own blood and drawing the runs on the

804
01:03:42.320 --> 01:03:45.519
silver nitrate can of film, saying
the spell and then destroying the film.

805
01:03:45.960 --> 01:03:50.760
But Jose doesn't exactly know what runs
Wilhelm intended to use at the end of

806
01:03:50.840 --> 01:03:53.920
the film, but Avent does.
So Jay's like, hey, Ristan,

807
01:03:54.039 --> 01:03:57.360
you know how to summon ghosts?
Like that's kind of your thing, right,

808
01:03:58.559 --> 01:04:01.639
Like it sounds like please wait yeah
wait, yeah, they came in,

809
01:04:03.639 --> 01:04:10.639
they come in bus, but they
cannot so yeah, he doesn't want

810
01:04:10.679 --> 01:04:14.320
to offirst, but finally he agrees. So then the hold the seance a

811
01:04:14.360 --> 01:04:19.039
good old seance, and Throughstan's hands, Avan writes the ruins for the film

812
01:04:19.760 --> 01:04:26.679
air, Earth, water, life, fire, and then the fire nation

813
01:04:28.719 --> 01:04:32.559
that's what I thought of what I
was reading it, and then the opener,

814
01:04:32.719 --> 01:04:38.519
and then finally the vagas run.
But then Wilhelm he's not invited,

815
01:04:38.559 --> 01:04:43.840
but he crashes the sands that bitch
will him? Yeah, and Jose gets

816
01:04:43.880 --> 01:04:46.679
hurt during you know, this attack
from Wilhelm. So now they had to

817
01:04:46.760 --> 01:04:51.480
proceed without Jose with the rest of
the plan. So Steven's scarier for recent

818
01:04:51.639 --> 01:04:59.719
yeahcent, So go to Antarts to
retrieve the film, but while they're there,

819
01:05:00.000 --> 01:05:03.440
Ama attacks them and they managed to
get away with Montes and magic that

820
01:05:03.559 --> 01:05:08.039
she learned from the book, but
the danger isn't over yet, so then

821
01:05:08.039 --> 01:05:11.480
they get chased and caught and taken
by the cold. Claire has a room

822
01:05:11.599 --> 01:05:15.400
set up with two projectors, and
just they get taken to her building.

823
01:05:15.599 --> 01:05:19.400
The edition is building, so Claire, Yeah, publishing building. Yeah,

824
01:05:21.079 --> 01:05:26.760
the building, yes. So Claire
has a room set up with two projectors

825
01:05:26.880 --> 01:05:30.000
and a portable screen, and then
two bowls next to each projector, and

826
01:05:30.239 --> 01:05:34.280
one is filled with water and one
is empty. So then Claire's delicis some

827
01:05:34.480 --> 01:05:41.199
dudes throw and his blood fills the
empty bowl. And Claire tells Sadistan and

828
01:05:41.360 --> 01:05:46.159
Monte that Wilhelm told her the remaining
ruins and about her plan to finish the

829
01:05:46.159 --> 01:05:49.880
spell and bring Wilhelm back to life. So as part of her plan,

830
01:05:50.360 --> 01:05:56.039
she has events corps there. How
does she get it, I don't know,

831
01:05:57.599 --> 01:06:01.760
but very disturbing, and she wants
the stand to conjure Abel so that

832
01:06:01.920 --> 01:06:08.079
they can recite the spell. And
while this is happening, Bonce gets I

833
01:06:08.159 --> 01:06:14.159
don't know what the word is,
like transported or something to another realm astro.

834
01:06:14.320 --> 01:06:15.800
I think it was astro projecting.
I don't know, maybe, yeah,

835
01:06:15.920 --> 01:06:18.360
I think that that would I feel
like that same thing like that.

836
01:06:18.599 --> 01:06:21.239
That's the closest I got to it
because I was like, I think so.

837
01:06:21.719 --> 01:06:29.320
So she meets Wilhelm wherever he can
be fully in the farm or whatever,

838
01:06:29.519 --> 01:06:32.760
yeah, but in this other realm
or something something, and he tries

839
01:06:32.840 --> 01:06:36.840
to convince her to join him first
by appealing to her financial need. He's

840
01:06:36.880 --> 01:06:42.039
like, I can give you whatever
you want, and then she doesn't really

841
01:06:42.079 --> 01:06:45.119
care. So then he's like,
oh, I can get Thesetan to love

842
01:06:45.199 --> 01:06:51.000
you, and then he promises power. Moncee feigns interest, and so she

843
01:06:51.119 --> 01:06:57.559
says the magic words, I'll follow
you into the night, and Moncet comes

844
01:06:57.639 --> 01:07:00.840
back to reality or whatever. She
asked these dand to summon Avil and ask

845
01:07:00.960 --> 01:07:06.039
for his help to stop Wilhelm.
Wilhelm Distan summons Avil, Claire starts playing

846
01:07:06.079 --> 01:07:11.039
the old film and then the cult
members recite the words from the film.

847
01:07:11.599 --> 01:07:15.519
So then Mons starts drawing the runes, but then she draws a different room

848
01:07:15.880 --> 01:07:19.719
as a destruction and a fire breaks
out. Claire is pissed. She sets

849
01:07:19.719 --> 01:07:24.760
her evil magic dogs on Monte,
and Monte she's finding back with magic.

850
01:07:25.440 --> 01:07:27.159
Yeah, isn't this word, Claire? It's like, oh, you think

851
01:07:27.199 --> 01:07:30.079
your little new learned magic is gonna
get me. I'm better, blah blah

852
01:07:30.119 --> 01:07:34.000
blah you thought, bitch, you
thought. Yeah. While Monte is fighting,

853
01:07:34.519 --> 01:07:39.519
she feels a hand choke her,
like closing around her neck, and

854
01:07:39.679 --> 01:07:44.239
this is will Home, of course. So Tristan tries to finish the runs

855
01:07:44.320 --> 01:07:47.480
with Avan's help, but he's confused
when he draws all the runs and the

856
01:07:47.519 --> 01:07:50.159
film ends, but Wilhelm's still there, so he's like, what the fuck.

857
01:07:51.079 --> 01:07:56.239
Avel tells Tristan that he needs to
draw his rune and Tristan's like,

858
01:07:56.280 --> 01:08:00.400
what the fuck do you mean?
And Monan draw there ruins like their runs,

859
01:08:00.760 --> 01:08:03.920
so this means the made up written
language they had when they were kids.

860
01:08:04.360 --> 01:08:06.920
So he needs to like personalize the
ritual, you know, make it

861
01:08:08.440 --> 01:08:12.480
him his own, but he's so
soupid he doesn't get it. Yeah,

862
01:08:12.719 --> 01:08:17.800
yeah, Son is confused, He's
like, what the fuck do I do?

863
01:08:18.000 --> 01:08:23.319
Meanwhile, Monta is being choked out
by Wilhelm until he finally lets her

864
01:08:23.399 --> 01:08:26.840
go, and then he tries to
convince Monte to will him to live,

865
01:08:28.159 --> 01:08:32.439
but instead she wills him to cease
to exist, and then the whole place

866
01:08:32.560 --> 01:08:38.920
is set a blaze once they get
separated while they're escaping and he has to

867
01:08:38.960 --> 01:08:45.479
fight the urg to leave without once
and once she thinks Tristan has already left

868
01:08:45.520 --> 01:08:49.399
her behind, but then he finds
her. She knows him. He's rise

869
01:08:49.479 --> 01:08:55.359
to see him. He came back
from me, really, and they both

870
01:08:55.479 --> 01:09:00.800
escape. So then the film the
book Wilhelm's Belongings. They're all burned in

871
01:09:00.840 --> 01:09:04.359
the fire. Tristan and Monte go
check on Jose, and back at home,

872
01:09:04.560 --> 01:09:09.479
Monse burned everything, all the picture
she had of Wilhelm, and Jose

873
01:09:09.720 --> 01:09:14.039
tells them that it's the even though
you know everything's over, this is the

874
01:09:14.159 --> 01:09:16.359
longest night of the year, so
they better get to bed early because it's

875
01:09:16.399 --> 01:09:19.079
a dangerous night. And like,
what the fuck I thought we were done?

876
01:09:20.680 --> 01:09:26.920
Yeah, way, yeah, And
then Jose explains that magic attracts the

877
01:09:27.000 --> 01:09:30.279
attention of monsters, ghosts, and
the Evil Eye, so they don't want

878
01:09:30.279 --> 01:09:33.720
to be out at night. Yeah, which they find out that other shit

879
01:09:33.880 --> 01:09:39.079
is out there besides just other magicians. Yeah, that's a great way.

880
01:09:41.319 --> 01:09:46.680
It was just not having a good
time, oh man. Monce Anistan settle

881
01:09:46.720 --> 01:09:51.439
back into Monster's apartment. The days
pass and Todistan keeps making excuses as to

882
01:09:51.479 --> 01:09:58.159
why he needs to keep staying that
monsters, so monce sarcastically invites him.

883
01:09:58.239 --> 01:10:00.640
She's like, not serious, she's
been sarcastic. And she's like, why

884
01:10:00.640 --> 01:10:02.119
don't you just stay here forever?
And he's like yeah, and she's like,

885
01:10:02.239 --> 01:10:05.920
no, man, I was staying
around. Wait wait wait wait no,

886
01:10:06.479 --> 01:10:12.600
but yeah no. So Monster is
like, we're too old to be

887
01:10:12.640 --> 01:10:15.840
playing house. But he keeps pushing, and then he confesses his love to

888
01:10:15.920 --> 01:10:19.399
her in the most way. And
I wrote that, but I remember what

889
01:10:19.479 --> 01:10:23.800
he said, so, and I
don't have my kiddles actually die. I

890
01:10:23.960 --> 01:10:27.600
forgot too. Yeah, he confesses
his love to her and wants it.

891
01:10:27.800 --> 01:10:30.560
She's receptive. So they go on
to live happy, calm and magic ruin

892
01:10:30.640 --> 01:10:42.399
free lives with monsters now haunting them. True. Should we get into thoughts?

893
01:10:43.000 --> 01:10:45.199
Well, I do have the questions. Oh, I forgot about the

894
01:10:45.279 --> 01:10:50.640
questions. I pewed them up just
I don't even have the questions neither.

895
01:10:50.760 --> 01:10:55.399
Well I have them, Okay,
Okay, I do have a few notes,

896
01:10:55.479 --> 01:10:59.520
so to go over. Okay,
what if your notes are part of

897
01:10:59.560 --> 01:11:02.760
the question. Okay, let's read
the question and then if they're not,

898
01:11:02.880 --> 01:11:05.720
then we'll go on with your notes. Yeah, okay, So the first

899
01:11:05.800 --> 01:11:11.079
question, what did you enjoy most
about silver nitrate. What did you struggle

900
01:11:11.159 --> 01:11:15.399
with? Uh? I liked the
what what we went over in the beginning

901
01:11:15.479 --> 01:11:21.920
that uh, Sylvia always gets inspiration
from real shit that happened and real people

902
01:11:23.359 --> 01:11:31.039
and makes this like complex world.
What I struggled with was in the beginning

903
01:11:31.039 --> 01:11:35.079
it was a little bit slow for
me, and then Monset at first was

904
01:11:35.159 --> 01:11:42.039
like obsessed with yours and then she
comes a point in time where she then

905
01:11:42.640 --> 01:11:45.279
gets all the information and she's mad. I was like, girl, this

906
01:11:45.319 --> 01:11:48.399
is what you wanted. Why are
you kissed? Yeah? Why are you

907
01:11:48.520 --> 01:11:51.399
mad? But that was it.
That was like the only the only,

908
01:11:51.520 --> 01:11:54.479
the only thing that irritated me.
I was like, you just you were

909
01:11:54.520 --> 01:11:58.159
asking for all this information two pages
ago. Isn't this what you wanted?

910
01:12:00.239 --> 01:12:04.800
Yeah? I felt the same.
I always like how she weaves in history

911
01:12:04.880 --> 01:12:09.760
into the books and like, you
know, themes of like eugenics and things

912
01:12:09.840 --> 01:12:12.439
like that. But yeah, I
did feel a little slow, like to

913
01:12:12.720 --> 01:12:15.399
for things to start happening. And
Monte was hell annoying honestly, but I

914
01:12:15.600 --> 01:12:18.439
feel look too sexist because I thought
she was more annoying than Restan, So

915
01:12:18.479 --> 01:12:24.199
then I felt bad. Yeah,
I thought again, I love the world

916
01:12:24.279 --> 01:12:27.800
building, the story behind everything,
the history. I did think it took

917
01:12:27.800 --> 01:12:30.279
a little long to get to all
the things that happened, but then when

918
01:12:30.319 --> 01:12:33.399
it got there, it got there, it was like damn, like I

919
01:12:33.439 --> 01:12:36.920
couldn't stop reading it afterwards. Same
same, So it took a little bit

920
01:12:36.920 --> 01:12:42.760
to get there. I did find
Monte she is not a likable character,

921
01:12:42.840 --> 01:12:45.439
but I think she's supposed to be
not that. Like, yeah, because

922
01:12:45.600 --> 01:12:50.439
but I also found Ristan like the
worst. They're both insufferable, right like

923
01:12:50.520 --> 01:12:53.840
kind of like they're made for each
just like you got, Yeah, they

924
01:12:53.880 --> 01:13:03.159
really are made for there's a reason
why. Yeah, yeah, accurate,

925
01:13:03.279 --> 01:13:08.920
accurate? Okay. Was there a
character that you wish had a bigger role

926
01:13:09.279 --> 01:13:13.439
or when you wish you could know
more about? Said? Maybe that's what

927
01:13:13.560 --> 01:13:15.439
I was gonna say. It was
really interesting because I was like, how'd

928
01:13:15.479 --> 01:13:18.920
you find out that there's other ship
out there? How come nobody else is

929
01:13:18.960 --> 01:13:23.079
talking about this ship? What is
this? I need like a second book?

930
01:13:23.119 --> 01:13:25.800
I know she rarely like I don't
think she actually does sequels, but

931
01:13:25.880 --> 01:13:29.680
she needs to for this one.
I would like who said I would like

932
01:13:29.760 --> 01:13:34.279
to know how he found out how
horrible Wilhelm is, how he why he

933
01:13:34.439 --> 01:13:38.560
has all those wounds all over him. Yeah, how do you get this

934
01:13:38.640 --> 01:13:43.000
story? Yeah? Yeah, Like
does he hunt like the ghosts and the

935
01:13:43.840 --> 01:13:46.800
you know, like vampires. Yeah, like is he about that life?

936
01:13:46.960 --> 01:13:53.560
The hunter life like the Winchessers.
Actually that brings that brings a question that

937
01:13:54.159 --> 01:13:58.239
she does have a vampire book.
I wonder if it's kind of like related.

938
01:13:58.479 --> 01:14:00.000
You haven't read, Like maybe it's
like I don't know if it takes

939
01:14:00.000 --> 01:14:02.479
in the future or in a different
world. But I'm like, what if

940
01:14:02.479 --> 01:14:05.079
it's a different world. I think, what if it's like connected, like

941
01:14:05.159 --> 01:14:08.680
one of them is in the past
and one of them's not. I don't

942
01:14:08.680 --> 01:14:13.479
know. Okay, Yeah, it's
like a completely different setting. It was

943
01:14:13.560 --> 01:14:16.399
good. I liked it. Okay. So, despite or perhaps because of

944
01:14:16.600 --> 01:14:21.399
their longtime friendship, mon Antissan remain
very close, although they can be very

945
01:14:21.439 --> 01:14:25.000
different from each other. Do you
think this can be a good thing?

946
01:14:25.680 --> 01:14:30.840
Are they Are they good friends to
each other? Explain? I think Tristan's

947
01:14:30.840 --> 01:14:34.319
a shitty friend. Yeah, and
I think once that I is enabling his

948
01:14:34.439 --> 01:14:38.600
behavior a little too much and forgives
him too much. And yes, yes,

949
01:14:38.680 --> 01:14:42.880
she's an enabler. Yes, yeah, yeah, they're not good friends

950
01:14:42.960 --> 01:14:45.399
to each other, they're yeah,
but at the same time, they deserve

951
01:14:45.439 --> 01:14:48.760
each other. But like that friend, you can't give up, you know,

952
01:14:49.079 --> 01:14:54.399
like after you've been friends with someone
so long sometimes you know, even

953
01:14:54.479 --> 01:14:58.039
if it's not the healthiest, you
just stick it out. Man. So

954
01:14:58.119 --> 01:15:00.239
it's very real in that sense.
Yeah. Yeah, So I wouldn't say

955
01:15:00.239 --> 01:15:04.399
it's good, but I wouldn't say
they deserve each other. Yes, I

956
01:15:04.399 --> 01:15:09.960
would say being different from your friend
or your partner can be a good thing.

957
01:15:10.640 --> 01:15:13.920
Yeah. Yeah, that's true,
as long as you respect each other.

958
01:15:14.039 --> 01:15:17.159
But Tristan did not respect her very
much. Yeah. No, and

959
01:15:17.239 --> 01:15:23.239
then she thought he was like I
don't know, I don't know she was

960
01:15:23.399 --> 01:15:26.800
enabling him, but I also felt
like she was frustrated and thought like he

961
01:15:27.000 --> 01:15:31.399
was making stupid decisions. So maybe
she like was condescending. Yeah yeah,

962
01:15:32.039 --> 01:15:35.079
now you're right. Yeah, Okay, let's see. The magic systems in

963
01:15:35.159 --> 01:15:41.600
this book are invented by the mysterious
Wilhelm You Worse Yours, You Worse Yours,

964
01:15:41.960 --> 01:15:45.239
while his version is based on pseudoscience
and mix of cultural practices. How

965
01:15:45.279 --> 01:15:47.560
do you feel about Mosdat's approach to
magic? Do you think magic can be

966
01:15:47.600 --> 01:15:51.199
practiced by anyone? I thought it
was cool that you can like make it

967
01:15:51.279 --> 01:15:58.520
your own and it's very personal and
that's usually how it is in my knowledge

968
01:15:58.560 --> 01:16:00.479
of people who practice it, And
yeah, I think it could be practiced

969
01:16:00.479 --> 01:16:03.520
by anybody. Yeah, I think
that you have to have some sort of

970
01:16:03.680 --> 01:16:09.079
like willingness, openness, and ability, because I don't think I could pick

971
01:16:09.159 --> 01:16:14.479
up No, yeah, not I
think anyone but me and then Christina also

972
01:16:15.239 --> 01:16:17.960
can do it. But yeah,
I just like Jistan, like he just

973
01:16:18.079 --> 01:16:23.800
can't really be open about it.
He's very close off to it, and

974
01:16:23.960 --> 01:16:29.800
he does want he doesn't want anything
to do with his gift, although if

975
01:16:29.840 --> 01:16:31.680
I was him, yeah, I
wouldn't want that gift either. No,

976
01:16:31.840 --> 01:16:34.279
he has the worst gift, yeah, of all of them. Yeah,

977
01:16:35.000 --> 01:16:38.319
I thought it was cool how Monce
it makes it her own and so it

978
01:16:38.359 --> 01:16:42.439
does hold sense. Yeah, yes, yes, yeah, but you know

979
01:16:42.560 --> 01:16:46.479
what I wish the magic would have
been because I to me, if you're

980
01:16:46.520 --> 01:16:49.359
fighting with magic, like I guess
I'm thinking of it because you know,

981
01:16:49.399 --> 01:16:54.119
I like to picture it as I'm
reading, and it just doesn't come off

982
01:16:54.199 --> 01:16:57.880
as cool to be writing shit down
and fighting like that. I didn't like

983
01:16:57.960 --> 01:17:00.159
that. I wish that. Yeah, it kind of just a little bit

984
01:17:00.399 --> 01:17:04.159
use their hands or you know,
but the fact that they have to write

985
01:17:04.199 --> 01:17:06.680
things down yeah, like a wand
like your finger, Like I don't know

986
01:17:06.800 --> 01:17:11.279
anything but that. So I didn't
really like that, like how the magic

987
01:17:11.359 --> 01:17:13.600
was done, Like I wish it
would have been cooler, like maybe that's

988
01:17:13.640 --> 01:17:16.359
why like Kose has it on his
skin so he's like a yeah ahead like

989
01:17:16.439 --> 01:17:19.479
that I could get made down with
that, Like I like that. I

990
01:17:19.560 --> 01:17:24.399
feel like that made it more real
to me that it was this inconvenient thing

991
01:17:24.439 --> 01:17:28.079
you had to like suddenly stop and
like have a notepad, old, let

992
01:17:28.079 --> 01:17:30.359
me write this down. Yeah,
have a little notepad on you the entire

993
01:17:30.600 --> 01:17:35.560
time. Yeah, And then I
was like, okay, but symbolic,

994
01:17:35.680 --> 01:17:39.960
why can't you just write air write
it? True? Though, but then

995
01:17:40.000 --> 01:17:42.880
that would feel like all of it
was silly to me, Like take this

996
01:17:43.000 --> 01:17:45.840
bitch, like I'm gonna writing emotion. Yeah, yeah, you're fake writing.

997
01:17:46.079 --> 01:17:49.079
Yeah you know you do it like
oh now you're on fire. So

998
01:17:49.760 --> 01:17:55.079
but you know what, when I
have dreams like about stuff, sometimes it's

999
01:17:55.199 --> 01:18:00.520
like that it's so silly, like
it's a very snisient face. So it

1000
01:18:00.600 --> 01:18:03.159
was like being a bystay or just
watching this ship happen and you're like,

1001
01:18:03.319 --> 01:18:06.399
the fuck is going on? Yeah? No, Like, okay, one

1002
01:18:06.439 --> 01:18:09.840
time I had dreamed that. I
think it's me and Christina. We were

1003
01:18:09.880 --> 01:18:13.840
like superheroes or something when we were
actually we didn't have any powers. I

1004
01:18:14.079 --> 01:18:17.840
was just saying like, okay,
now I'm gonna fly. And that's how

1005
01:18:17.920 --> 01:18:31.000
this magic felt to me. Oh
my god. Sorry, Yeah, someone

1006
01:18:31.000 --> 01:18:36.319
should shut me up. Party,
you know, I have Mike stop.

1007
01:18:36.479 --> 01:18:42.079
Okay, So how do you feel
about the ending? What do you think

1008
01:18:42.199 --> 01:18:45.880
happens next with Monterra and Tristan?
Oh? So did you like them ending

1009
01:18:45.000 --> 01:18:51.359
up together? I feel like they're
together just to be together because they like,

1010
01:18:53.479 --> 01:18:56.920
yeah, they're settling for each other. No one else wants us.

1011
01:18:59.520 --> 01:19:00.960
Yeah, I mean, and they
just deserve each other. So like,

1012
01:19:01.239 --> 01:19:05.560
I guess good for them, but
like they're gonna define in together. It's

1013
01:19:05.640 --> 01:19:09.960
like they were together this whole time
anyway. So yeah, I think they're

1014
01:19:10.000 --> 01:19:15.000
gonna have a happy life together with
a petty argument with here and there.

1015
01:19:15.880 --> 01:19:18.399
Yeah, they are very codependent,
but you know, I love I love

1016
01:19:18.439 --> 01:19:21.399
when people end up together in books. So I was here for it,

1017
01:19:21.600 --> 01:19:27.560
and sometimes she doesn't do it in
her books, like like all of them,

1018
01:19:30.079 --> 01:19:34.000
oh man, Yeah, wait,
have we talked about Mexican Gothic?

1019
01:19:34.680 --> 01:19:38.720
No? No, no, okay, no, no we haven't. I

1020
01:19:38.800 --> 01:19:42.960
don't like who she ends up with. Actually didn't like that either. I'm

1021
01:19:43.000 --> 01:19:45.000
like, this peal boy, he
should die because I pictured that he was

1022
01:19:45.159 --> 01:19:48.159
ugly and I pictured that she was
beautiful, and I was like, I

1023
01:19:48.199 --> 01:19:51.840
don't like it. I'm sorry,
I can't remember I pictured somebody for that

1024
01:19:51.960 --> 01:19:56.840
and I can't remember. You picture
somebody? Yeah, and I can't remember.

1025
01:19:57.000 --> 01:19:59.720
Oh, I pictured what's his name? Like? What is it the

1026
01:19:59.800 --> 01:20:03.319
guy who plays Loki? Oh,
he has to be younger, like a

1027
01:20:03.399 --> 01:20:05.880
younger version of him. Then yeah, okay, yeah that's why I picture

1028
01:20:05.920 --> 01:20:09.279
because they is like, yeah,
that's why I pictured. So I was

1029
01:20:09.319 --> 01:20:12.199
like, I was fine, his
hands look up, it's I don't even

1030
01:20:12.239 --> 01:20:14.960
know. Okay, if you're a
picture in that, then that's Tom I

1031
01:20:15.000 --> 01:20:17.680
think, yeah, yeah, are
you looking someone else up, Carmen.

1032
01:20:18.600 --> 01:20:25.239
I'm never gonna find it. Yeah, I'm trying to find who I pictured.

1033
01:20:26.000 --> 01:20:30.279
What is he from? Okay?
So In and Freddy versus Jason,

1034
01:20:30.600 --> 01:20:35.079
there's a there's a one of the
guys. Okay, where is this guy

1035
01:20:35.239 --> 01:20:42.439
who is like a nerd? And
that's why I pictured as that the guy

1036
01:20:42.560 --> 01:20:45.279
she ends up with. Wait,
okay, who from Freddy versus Jason.

1037
01:20:45.319 --> 01:20:47.119
I don't know. I don't know
his name. I had to see a

1038
01:20:47.159 --> 01:20:50.159
picture, but I don't know his
name, so I can't find a picture

1039
01:20:50.159 --> 01:20:54.520
and never remember the name of the
character. He's just like an annoying guy

1040
01:20:55.119 --> 01:20:59.600
Linderman, but he's not the stoner. I was gonna say it was Charlie

1041
01:20:59.640 --> 01:21:04.279
Linderman in Chris Mark. No,
I don't think so. Really, I

1042
01:21:04.279 --> 01:21:08.760
don't think he's the only annoying.
He was like the annoying nerd. I

1043
01:21:08.840 --> 01:21:11.920
thought he had glasses. Maybe it
was the bike. I don't know,

1044
01:21:12.479 --> 01:21:15.319
he thought like a bike helmet or
more cycle helmet. I'm not gonna find

1045
01:21:15.399 --> 01:21:18.000
it. Maybe it is that guy, but I pictures him more pale and

1046
01:21:18.199 --> 01:21:23.600
like, oh he's already pretty pale, I like uglier. Oh wait it

1047
01:21:23.680 --> 01:21:27.439
is him. I mean I thought
he wore glasses. No, yeah,

1048
01:21:27.479 --> 01:21:30.279
it's him, but with glasses.
It's how I pictured. But here the

1049
01:21:30.520 --> 01:21:34.239
glasses in the book. So yeah, that's why I pictured Okay, just

1050
01:21:34.319 --> 01:21:38.199
like a plain white guy. Yeah, but like a nerdy, plain white

1051
01:21:38.239 --> 01:21:41.560
guy. Yes, well you added
the glasses so yeah, right, I

1052
01:21:41.800 --> 01:21:45.399
made that up. Yeah, I
could see that. Yeah anyway, sorry,

1053
01:21:45.439 --> 01:21:46.800
and then okay, last question,
how did we get here? I

1054
01:21:47.079 --> 01:21:51.520
don't remember. What medium do you
think would be the easiest to curse today?

1055
01:21:51.600 --> 01:21:55.399
A movie, TV show, podcast, social media, something else?

1056
01:21:55.880 --> 01:21:59.600
What would your motives be? A
TikTok? I think so. I think

1057
01:21:59.680 --> 01:22:03.600
every one's like, you know,
into TikTok, and those videos make their

1058
01:22:03.640 --> 01:22:09.800
way to Instagram, so it would
still be through and then later on into

1059
01:22:09.840 --> 01:22:15.520
Facebook. It's like the modern day
ring Never I know the pages. I

1060
01:22:15.600 --> 01:22:19.640
was gonna say, yeah, no, I agree, that's what I was

1061
01:22:19.680 --> 01:22:21.960
gonna say too. I was like
a podcast would be hard because like some

1062
01:22:23.039 --> 01:22:26.000
people, some people don't listen to
podcast I guess like twenty percent of people

1063
01:22:26.159 --> 01:22:29.600
don't even know what podcasts are.
Really, Wow, you're missing out a

1064
01:22:29.680 --> 01:22:32.079
survey that I listened to, Yeah, they are missing out. So yeah,

1065
01:22:32.119 --> 01:22:36.479
I would say TikTok because then it
would make itself into or it would

1066
01:22:36.479 --> 01:22:41.800
make its way into other platforms,
like all the vertical platforms. So yeah,

1067
01:22:42.079 --> 01:22:44.840
that's what I would curse if I
had to, though I don't have

1068
01:22:44.880 --> 01:22:46.680
a motive. Yeah, I don't
have a motivator. Oh a motive.

1069
01:22:47.199 --> 01:22:50.279
I was gonna say that right now, so then then I wouldn't have to

1070
01:22:50.319 --> 01:22:56.359
work. Mm hmmm, yeah,
that would be it. Yeah, is

1071
01:22:56.399 --> 01:22:59.119
that all the questions? Yes,
Okay, So I just want to talk

1072
01:22:59.119 --> 01:23:03.359
a little bit because I I saw
I looked at the ratings on good Reads,

1073
01:23:03.680 --> 01:23:08.840
so it had three point sixty four
out of five stars, and some

1074
01:23:09.039 --> 01:23:13.399
people, the ones that had bad
reviews, most of them said that there

1075
01:23:13.520 --> 01:23:18.520
wasn't enough horror, that the romance
sucked, and that Monsign Tristan were overdeveloped

1076
01:23:18.680 --> 01:23:23.880
characters, and that they had like
negative chemistry, treated each other terribly and

1077
01:23:24.000 --> 01:23:26.199
had no development. So it's like, what do you think about that?

1078
01:23:26.439 --> 01:23:30.800
But I think it's stupid to want
everything peachy and sunflowers and roses. If

1079
01:23:30.840 --> 01:23:34.239
you didn't get it, just say
that. I can't stand when people are

1080
01:23:34.319 --> 01:23:38.960
like, I have to have everything
so happy ending I'm like, no,

1081
01:23:39.640 --> 01:23:42.399
I mean that's great, but I
also if like some shit goes down,

1082
01:23:42.439 --> 01:23:45.479
it's horrible. I'm down for that
too. It doesn't need to be peachy.

1083
01:23:45.840 --> 01:23:48.199
And I mean, ultimately, they
were there for each other when they

1084
01:23:48.279 --> 01:23:51.720
needed it, so I think that's
what matters. Yeah, and at the

1085
01:23:51.880 --> 01:23:56.399
end, they were literally meant for
each other because they're both terrible. Yeah,

1086
01:23:56.520 --> 01:23:58.359
yes, yes, And I also
like, like a lot of people,

1087
01:23:58.479 --> 01:24:00.159
like, don't get me wrong,
I love when there's a good character

1088
01:24:00.319 --> 01:24:04.319
that's written good and you cheer for
them on. But I also like people

1089
01:24:04.439 --> 01:24:09.359
who are like like Tristan, where
it's like he's clearly a piece of shit

1090
01:24:09.479 --> 01:24:13.399
sometimes, but then you also cheer
for him and he pisses you off.

1091
01:24:13.479 --> 01:24:15.439
But you also don't want ship to
happen like that too. Yeah, and

1092
01:24:15.640 --> 01:24:18.640
yet because I don't, I don't
always like like, oh there's like another

1093
01:24:18.680 --> 01:24:23.680
good guy and he's written or she's
written per perfect. I hate that ship.

1094
01:24:23.960 --> 01:24:26.640
I hate like once in while it's
fine, but all the time people,

1095
01:24:28.000 --> 01:24:32.680
yeah that's more realistic. Yeah.
And the horror was error, what

1096
01:24:32.720 --> 01:24:38.920
are you talking about? It was
the first sees the excess ghost that was

1097
01:24:39.079 --> 01:24:42.520
that was good. Yeah. The
one that freaked me out the most was

1098
01:24:42.920 --> 01:24:49.159
the the spooning part. I was
like, oh that's so yeah, yeah,

1099
01:24:49.239 --> 01:24:51.560
so it was there, Like to
that, I would say, just

1100
01:24:51.600 --> 01:24:56.079
say you didn't get it and that's
it, and then you can't be mad

1101
01:24:56.119 --> 01:25:00.720
because you didn't understand it, Like
yeah, that's on you, and like,

1102
01:25:01.079 --> 01:25:03.960
yeah, not everything has to be
just horrible horror horror after horror,

1103
01:25:04.079 --> 01:25:09.319
Like I mean I had like good
pacing and good like sort of jump scary

1104
01:25:09.399 --> 01:25:12.600
moments. Yeah. I mean I
would say it took a little too long

1105
01:25:12.680 --> 01:25:14.800
to get there, but then it
got there and it was all good.

1106
01:25:15.119 --> 01:25:19.600
Yeah you needed you needed all that
background and for the every it informed like

1107
01:25:19.680 --> 01:25:24.840
the whole thing later. So yeah, so yeah, like and again I

1108
01:25:24.920 --> 01:25:28.920
think because I rate everything that I
like so highly, I would give it

1109
01:25:29.079 --> 01:25:39.199
like five ghosts out of five ghosts
rooms out of rooms. Yeah. I

1110
01:25:39.319 --> 01:25:43.119
do have a few notes or thoughts
I should say. Uh, I think

1111
01:25:43.640 --> 01:25:49.880
Tristan was the necromancer because he already
had a death on him technically, and

1112
01:25:50.000 --> 01:25:53.720
I thought that's why he had to
become the necromancer. And I don't know

1113
01:25:53.760 --> 01:25:57.439
if it works, like because he
was the reason. I guess she was

1114
01:25:57.560 --> 01:26:01.199
because he was the motivation behind it. But I also it could also be

1115
01:26:01.319 --> 01:26:04.800
that he witnessed the death in front
of him. I think, so that

1116
01:26:04.880 --> 01:26:09.239
makes sense. I don't know if
it's one or the other. And then

1117
01:26:09.680 --> 01:26:13.800
what I one part I didn't like
about Tristan is that he's talking about he

1118
01:26:14.159 --> 01:26:21.920
likes aphrodite women, but then he
describes Monte as a plat wheatly type beautiful.

1119
01:26:23.359 --> 01:26:26.319
Yeah, but I do remember this
at all? Is that the end

1120
01:26:26.479 --> 01:26:29.399
right, or like closer to the
end when he's like admiring her beauty and

1121
01:26:29.439 --> 01:26:32.359
he'll say it's one it's on page. Yeah, that she's not like a

1122
01:26:32.479 --> 01:26:36.680
traditionally beautiful woman. She's like a
beautiful in a monster sort of way.

1123
01:26:38.279 --> 01:26:43.000
Yeah, I wouldn't say that because
the goddess he mentions is like wheatly,

1124
01:26:43.159 --> 01:26:49.119
and this goddess god has a mask
and fe features. So to me,

1125
01:26:50.119 --> 01:26:56.720
he's describing Momo as a tomboy or
androgynas like still pretty in its own.

1126
01:26:57.000 --> 01:27:01.199
Also, I couldn't send her nickname
Momo. It's a nickname people have.

1127
01:27:01.600 --> 01:27:06.319
I didn't like. I say me
too, I mean it's fully there,

1128
01:27:06.520 --> 01:27:12.600
like and you're gonna use momo.
Yeah, but I didn't like that he

1129
01:27:12.760 --> 01:27:15.359
was like telling her like that's a
bad thing. I'm like, it's her

1130
01:27:15.479 --> 01:27:18.359
thing, doesn't make her any less
beautiful, like, and to me it

1131
01:27:18.760 --> 01:27:25.760
comes off as like the Afro deity
and the like Whitney comparison. More was

1132
01:27:25.840 --> 01:27:30.840
more like European versus indigenous to me. Too interesting. I hadn't thought of

1133
01:27:30.920 --> 01:27:34.000
that, Yeah, but yeah,
it couldn't be either because I didn't remember

1134
01:27:34.079 --> 01:27:39.079
it. But yeah, but that's
it. But also, who does that,

1135
01:27:39.279 --> 01:27:42.960
like you're not as hot as the
other like women that I've been into,

1136
01:27:43.800 --> 01:27:45.640
but you're all right the inner thought
he's having, he doesn't tell her,

1137
01:27:46.279 --> 01:27:48.560
Oh that's good at least. God, I thought he told her that.

1138
01:27:50.039 --> 01:27:51.960
I imagine. Yeah, but I
was like, oh my god,

1139
01:27:53.039 --> 01:27:55.720
I wanted to slap him, like
I wanted to like reach into the book

1140
01:27:55.760 --> 01:28:00.960
and just go smack. Yeah,
yeah, mm hmm. Okay, is

1141
01:28:01.039 --> 01:28:03.920
that everything that is done? The
book? Wait? I want to say

1142
01:28:04.000 --> 01:28:08.800
my reading Oh oh yeah, you
haven't said it. Okay, don't come

1143
01:28:08.880 --> 01:28:13.079
for me, Christina. It was
not five out of five for me,

1144
01:28:14.239 --> 01:28:18.119
I think because of how solow it
was and that I wish the magic was

1145
01:28:18.199 --> 01:28:23.600
cooler, which is not no fault, I think because it was based on

1146
01:28:23.720 --> 01:28:28.000
actual So I guess I can't really
take that into account, but I want

1147
01:28:28.039 --> 01:28:32.199
to and I will. So I
would say, like I liked it,

1148
01:28:32.319 --> 01:28:36.960
I would read it again, but
it wasn't full like five. I would

1149
01:28:38.039 --> 01:28:44.239
say like maybe like three point nine
out of five. It was a random

1150
01:28:44.399 --> 01:28:47.279
ass placed that ended out like three
point nine. No, I can see

1151
01:28:47.319 --> 01:28:49.880
that. Yeah, I didn't see
that, like like if I if you

1152
01:28:49.960 --> 01:28:54.760
had to twist my arm. Okay, fine, four. I was gonna

1153
01:28:54.760 --> 01:28:58.279
say. They put eight and I
don't know which one was weirder. Point

1154
01:28:58.359 --> 01:29:05.880
nine. Did you give it a
media m D. Yeah, I gave

1155
01:29:05.920 --> 01:29:10.680
it five out of five. I
really like the it's solely for the the

1156
01:29:11.520 --> 01:29:14.399
historical ship that she moves in,
but that made it cool. Yeah,

1157
01:29:14.439 --> 01:29:16.520
once you told me about that.
Also, I was like, Okay,

1158
01:29:16.560 --> 01:29:19.279
I think if I knew that beforehand
and then I read it, then it

1159
01:29:19.319 --> 01:29:23.079
would I would have probably liked it
a little bit more. Yeah, so

1160
01:29:23.159 --> 01:29:25.399
that's why it's like cooler. Maybe
that's why I give it like five out

1161
01:29:25.439 --> 01:29:28.720
of five because I already knew.
Yeah, that makes sense, that makes

1162
01:29:28.760 --> 01:29:34.279
sense. Okay, Wow, well
we survived. We finally recorded this and

1163
01:29:34.439 --> 01:29:39.039
I already finished the next one.
I have not even started. I guess

1164
01:29:39.039 --> 01:29:45.439
i'll do the notes to them.

1165
01:29:46.039 --> 01:29:50.479
We are very excited because we love
Isabel. Yes, yes, so yeah,

1166
01:29:50.720 --> 01:29:54.680
that is the next book. Hopefully
it doesn't take us as long as

1167
01:29:54.760 --> 01:29:59.279
this one. Well you've already done
so years later, yeah, one year

1168
01:29:59.439 --> 01:30:03.680
later? Yeah, okay, yeah, and everyone else. Thanks for listening.

1169
01:30:04.199 --> 01:30:06.800
If you want to join the book
club, there's a link in the

1170
01:30:06.880 --> 01:30:12.079
show notes. You can also join
Patreon like a free member, because I'll

1171
01:30:12.119 --> 01:30:15.600
post the discussions on Patreon for everyone
to see, not just paid members.

1172
01:30:15.880 --> 01:30:19.640
So yeah, I guess that's everything, Say Swookie. We'll catch everyone next

1173
01:30:19.720 --> 01:30:23.439
time. Bye bye bye, bam
