The Pelacaras of Peru

The Pelacaras of Peru

Reports of extraterrestrial being terrorizing villages in the Amazon of Peru began to surface in 2022. They began to call them the Pelacaras. In this episode, Cristina tells Carmen about the legend of the facepeelers, but first they read a listener story and end with spooky recs.

00:00:04.719 --> 00:00:07.759
Hello, Hello, this is Christina and Carmen. I thought you

2
00:00:07.799 --> 00:00:09.839
were gonna say an Arthur. Oh my god, I did

3
00:00:09.839 --> 00:00:12.400
that last time. How I forgot? Actually, this is Arthur

4
00:00:13.759 --> 00:00:18.399
and d W. She's so sassy. My favorite one is

5
00:00:18.440 --> 00:00:22.239
when she's like tells Francis to go home. It was

6
00:00:22.280 --> 00:00:24.359
so mean. She's like, what are you doing? I don't

7
00:00:24.359 --> 00:00:27.199
know how she asked like a normal question, and she's like,

8
00:00:27.320 --> 00:00:32.359
DoD are you always here? Yeah? She's definely my favorite

9
00:00:32.560 --> 00:00:36.039
and Arthur, yeah she is anyway. Yes, this is another

10
00:00:36.039 --> 00:00:38.439
episode of a Spooky Tale's a podcast for all things

11
00:00:38.479 --> 00:00:42.240
as spooky, usually a paranormal topic and a true crime topic,

12
00:00:42.280 --> 00:00:46.159
but this month October only paranormal and we are in costume.

13
00:00:47.039 --> 00:00:49.880
Like we said, d W and Arthur. M hm. Yes,

14
00:00:50.399 --> 00:00:55.439
today's topic is the Pelas of Peru. Why does that

15
00:00:55.520 --> 00:01:00.640
sound so creepy? I know, right? But before we start

16
00:01:00.679 --> 00:01:03.320
the topic, we do always have a listener almost always

17
00:01:03.359 --> 00:01:05.680
have a listener story, And if you have a story

18
00:01:05.719 --> 00:01:07.519
that you want to share with us to read, you

19
00:01:07.519 --> 00:01:10.519
can email as Spookyitoes at gmail dot com. You can

20
00:01:10.879 --> 00:01:13.159
submit it on Discord, you can leave it as a

21
00:01:13.159 --> 00:01:16.200
comment on TikTok or any social media. You can DM

22
00:01:16.200 --> 00:01:18.079
it on any social media, or you can call it

23
00:01:18.120 --> 00:01:21.400
a spookie hotline. There's a lot of it to us, yes,

24
00:01:21.480 --> 00:01:23.719
so many ways, and all that information does in the

25
00:01:23.719 --> 00:01:27.200
show notes. All right, take it away, Okay. So this

26
00:01:27.239 --> 00:01:30.560
listening story is from my world eight ninety sixty seven.

27
00:01:30.760 --> 00:01:32.719
My mom is from Alone and she always told me

28
00:01:32.760 --> 00:01:36.159
stories like La Caretta Nagua. I also experienced something called

29
00:01:36.280 --> 00:01:39.319
la Mona and it was scary. Ladies in Nikaraigua transform

30
00:01:39.359 --> 00:01:43.359
their souls into a mona, like a woman monkey. She's

31
00:01:43.439 --> 00:01:45.640
tall and has red eyes. It is done by a

32
00:01:45.760 --> 00:01:48.719
ritual where they stand in a tub of water and

33
00:01:48.840 --> 00:01:52.439
their body falls in and their soul transforms. My cousin

34
00:01:52.519 --> 00:01:55.280
experienced it too. The scene grabbed him from his shirt

35
00:01:55.280 --> 00:01:57.760
and tried to take him. It is said that women

36
00:01:57.840 --> 00:02:00.319
do this to steal things from neighbor's yards, like clothes

37
00:02:00.319 --> 00:02:03.680
and food. In two thousand and seven, for my grandma's funeral,

38
00:02:03.719 --> 00:02:06.519
I was sleeping alone in the house. Everyone was outside.

39
00:02:06.799 --> 00:02:09.199
It was night, and suddenly there was the sound of

40
00:02:09.240 --> 00:02:13.080
strong footsteps running on the roof. The roof was aluminum,

41
00:02:13.159 --> 00:02:15.439
the windows were opened, and I heard her jump down

42
00:02:15.520 --> 00:02:17.879
to the other side. Of the house. Mind you, people

43
00:02:17.960 --> 00:02:21.159
were already trying to get her. Damn. They were chasing

44
00:02:21.159 --> 00:02:23.680
it after her, They were chasing after La Mona. They

45
00:02:23.719 --> 00:02:26.400
hit her with the machette on her ankle. She ran

46
00:02:26.520 --> 00:02:29.560
and disappeared. The next day, some young kids came to

47
00:02:29.599 --> 00:02:32.120
the house and told my mom and Mathias that their

48
00:02:32.120 --> 00:02:34.479
step mom had a wound in her ankle and she

49
00:02:34.639 --> 00:02:37.039
wrapped it and was trying to hide it. Many people

50
00:02:37.120 --> 00:02:39.840
report women doing this ritual to steal clothes or food

51
00:02:40.280 --> 00:02:44.080
or anything left outside. That's just wild. It would be

52
00:02:44.120 --> 00:02:47.639
the step mom. And I say that as a step mom. No,

53
00:02:47.759 --> 00:02:50.479
but just because they're always like the bluecasts or little witches,

54
00:02:50.520 --> 00:02:55.240
you know. Yeah, so no, but very very similar to

55
00:02:55.360 --> 00:02:59.680
bluecast stories in Mexico of them shape shifting into creatures

56
00:02:59.719 --> 00:03:03.080
and then and then like finding the wound the next day, Yes, exactly.

57
00:03:03.280 --> 00:03:08.840
Then the neighbor that you don't like is flipping. But

58
00:03:08.919 --> 00:03:12.639
you never messed with people like that in these places

59
00:03:12.639 --> 00:03:15.120
because they always have much at this. It's like, uh,

60
00:03:15.599 --> 00:03:20.039
it's like a thing. Yeah, it is, like obviously as saluis,

61
00:03:20.159 --> 00:03:22.319
it's a thing to be like having much at it,

62
00:03:22.439 --> 00:03:25.319
but it's it applies to all the essentral America, and

63
00:03:25.520 --> 00:03:29.159
so yeah, they're gonna get They're gonna get the blucas

64
00:03:29.159 --> 00:03:31.080
out there with much eds. For sure, we'll get you.

65
00:03:31.360 --> 00:03:41.719
M hm, okay, well the topic. Yes, a listener reached

66
00:03:41.759 --> 00:03:43.560
out and asked if we could do an episode on

67
00:03:43.599 --> 00:03:46.479
the placas of Peru, and I of course said yes,

68
00:03:46.680 --> 00:03:48.759
I've never heard of those. Of course, yeah, of course,

69
00:03:48.800 --> 00:03:51.759
of course we will. But it turns out that this

70
00:03:52.120 --> 00:03:56.199
legend of Los Pelacas, the face Pillars, has ties to

71
00:03:56.240 --> 00:03:58.680
another legend that we have talked about a long, long

72
00:03:58.719 --> 00:04:02.919
time ago, the Pichtaco. Oh my god, I should have

73
00:04:02.960 --> 00:04:07.360
guessed that, I know, right, But how would you? I

74
00:04:07.840 --> 00:04:11.039
didn't know until I started writing these notes. But before

75
00:04:11.039 --> 00:04:15.919
I talk about the similarities here, let's let's share the

76
00:04:16.000 --> 00:04:19.160
legend of the face Pillars and some encounters, and then

77
00:04:19.319 --> 00:04:24.240
a little refresher on the Pichtaco. So let's travel for

78
00:04:24.279 --> 00:04:28.879
a moment to the home of the legend of Los Placaras.

79
00:04:29.600 --> 00:04:34.639
What is carry name? No, it is the Yuca, LII,

80
00:04:34.839 --> 00:04:41.160
Loretomadre de Dios regions of Peru or dense jungle, especially

81
00:04:41.199 --> 00:04:45.240
these three departments. They're on the border of Colombia. Well,

82
00:04:45.240 --> 00:04:48.720
they're like the Paru side, but they border Columbia, Gracil

83
00:04:48.759 --> 00:04:54.800
and Bolivia, and all three are located in the Amazon Rainforest.

84
00:04:55.120 --> 00:04:58.560
Basically the northeast to southeast of Peru is these three

85
00:04:58.560 --> 00:05:02.399
departments and they're touching those parts of Columbia, Brazil, Bolivia,

86
00:05:02.560 --> 00:05:05.639
and these jungles are home to a lot of creatures

87
00:05:05.639 --> 00:05:08.480
that have spawned so many legends, many of which we've

88
00:05:08.480 --> 00:05:13.160
already talked about, like giant snakes with two heads or

89
00:05:13.240 --> 00:05:16.879
just giant snakes in general, pink dolphins, that's the legend,

90
00:05:17.000 --> 00:05:23.199
the amazons, the pacha mamma. If you just respect her,

91
00:05:23.279 --> 00:05:27.800
she will get you with her duende named but also

92
00:05:28.079 --> 00:05:32.720
there is just gleende's in general. And these lands are

93
00:05:33.120 --> 00:05:37.439
extremely remote. There's basically only the indigenous tribes that these are.

94
00:05:37.480 --> 00:05:41.040
This is their home, and some of the tribes haven't

95
00:05:41.040 --> 00:05:43.920
had contact with the quote western world, but some have.

96
00:05:44.199 --> 00:05:47.560
It's a but yeah, there's a I forgot the amount

97
00:05:47.639 --> 00:05:52.120
of indigenous tribes tribe Scenaria, Yeah, that call the Amazon

98
00:05:52.879 --> 00:05:57.240
their home. And sadly this part of the world has

99
00:05:57.279 --> 00:06:05.000
also faced violence, yeah, starting with the colonizers of Peru

100
00:06:05.519 --> 00:06:09.120
and this region, but also today like at the hands

101
00:06:09.120 --> 00:06:14.720
of organized crime and deforestation, some which we have talked about. Yes,

102
00:06:14.759 --> 00:06:17.720
we have a he studied. It's unknown we talked about.

103
00:06:18.040 --> 00:06:21.199
His name was Reuben. He's the one who Manna has

104
00:06:21.199 --> 00:06:23.560
a song about about. Yeah, Yes, Mana has a song

105
00:06:23.560 --> 00:06:27.720
about him. He is was an environmental activist from the

106
00:06:27.759 --> 00:06:32.199
Amazon and he was killed for his activism to from

107
00:06:32.199 --> 00:06:34.879
the Brazil region of the Amazon. Yes, and then we

108
00:06:34.959 --> 00:06:37.720
have an episode also over at a studio has known

109
00:06:37.759 --> 00:06:41.319
about environmental activism in Latin America and the LATA is

110
00:06:41.360 --> 00:06:44.480
about the Amazon as well. And it's in this landscape

111
00:06:44.560 --> 00:06:48.199
that tales of the Face Pillars group with the first

112
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:51.959
Support Society and dating back to twenty twenty two in

113
00:06:52.040 --> 00:06:54.920
Peru and then twenty twenty three in the more broader

114
00:06:55.000 --> 00:06:58.480
like world news in English and on social media. So

115
00:06:58.560 --> 00:07:04.000
this is a new lyre yes, but but more recent

116
00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:06.800
tales of these beings can be dated to twenty thirteen.

117
00:07:07.279 --> 00:07:11.279
Juan Serventez was found floating in the Pukuna Lake in Peru.

118
00:07:11.920 --> 00:07:15.360
There were no other signs of trauma except for his

119
00:07:15.519 --> 00:07:18.759
face was missing. Oh my god. I mean, like, I

120
00:07:18.759 --> 00:07:20.480
guess I could have guessed that from the name, but

121
00:07:20.600 --> 00:07:25.920
still that's like so scary. Yeah. Yeah, like the flesh

122
00:07:26.079 --> 00:07:29.439
was removed from his neck up and no one could

123
00:07:29.439 --> 00:07:34.560
explain how this happened. Authorities chalked it up to Piranha's Piranhas.

124
00:07:34.680 --> 00:07:36.879
I said that, I said it wrong. Okay, authorities could

125
00:07:36.959 --> 00:07:40.680
chalk this up. Authorities chalk this up to Piranhas. But

126
00:07:40.720 --> 00:07:43.199
that didn't make any sense because it was like very

127
00:07:43.199 --> 00:07:46.759
precise and they would have just like ate everything. Yeah, yeah,

128
00:07:46.839 --> 00:07:50.319
that doesn't really make sense. Also contrary to horror movies

129
00:07:50.399 --> 00:07:53.519
and what they will have to really people, No, no, no,

130
00:07:54.120 --> 00:07:57.759
don't believe everything you see on anaconda. Yeah, anyway, it

131
00:07:57.759 --> 00:08:02.000
didn't make sense because, yeah, it was so precise where

132
00:08:02.079 --> 00:08:05.560
his flesh was gone. Yeah, that doesn't make sense. No.

133
00:08:06.279 --> 00:08:08.680
Then in twenty twenty three, it happened again, this time

134
00:08:08.680 --> 00:08:11.720
to a young boy in the same lake, essentially the

135
00:08:11.720 --> 00:08:15.120
same situation. He was found floating and his face was missing.

136
00:08:15.600 --> 00:08:19.040
And then again in late twenty twenty four and a

137
00:08:19.120 --> 00:08:22.839
man named Pablo Vardalis was sitting on his porch along

138
00:08:22.920 --> 00:08:26.079
Pukuna Lake. He saw a light between the trees about

139
00:08:26.120 --> 00:08:29.160
fifty feet away from his porch, and he yelled out

140
00:08:29.199 --> 00:08:31.399
to his family so they could come and verify what

141
00:08:31.480 --> 00:08:33.159
he was looking at, like, hey, are you guys seeing

142
00:08:33.200 --> 00:08:36.919
the two lake And they all saw it. Yes, seven

143
00:08:37.000 --> 00:08:42.320
feet tall humanoid figures. They appeared to be wearing black

144
00:08:42.360 --> 00:08:46.200
bodysuits and some type of helmet and had big, yellow,

145
00:08:46.240 --> 00:08:51.960
glowing eyes and stood on a disc shaped platform that

146
00:08:52.080 --> 00:08:57.120
let them navigate between the trees with ease. They were

147
00:08:57.200 --> 00:09:02.639
fast flying through the jungle and quietly again, very vast,

148
00:09:03.799 --> 00:09:07.799
and Bablo, trying to protect his family, went to grab

149
00:09:07.840 --> 00:09:10.799
his shotgun and fired at them, but the pair of

150
00:09:10.879 --> 00:09:15.559
humanoid alien things, they were unbothered. The bullets just bounced

151
00:09:15.600 --> 00:09:19.120
off them. Then at some point they fired back with

152
00:09:19.159 --> 00:09:22.440
what appeared to be a red laser and Pablo was

153
00:09:22.559 --> 00:09:25.879
knocked out immediately. His family was frozen in fear, but

154
00:09:25.960 --> 00:09:29.039
they watched as a pair of humanoid creatures floated into

155
00:09:29.080 --> 00:09:32.720
the sky and then disappeared. And soon these types of

156
00:09:32.759 --> 00:09:35.919
reports grew until it seemed to be a daily occurrence

157
00:09:36.080 --> 00:09:40.279
in this area. The people of the village of San

158
00:09:40.320 --> 00:09:44.799
Antonio de Pintuyaku began making similar reports which were consistent,

159
00:09:44.879 --> 00:09:46.600
and none of these people were talking to each other,

160
00:09:46.639 --> 00:09:49.559
of course before saying what these things look like, but

161
00:09:49.679 --> 00:09:52.320
they all described them in the same way, a pair

162
00:09:52.360 --> 00:09:56.600
of humanoid creatures and all black with the same glowing

163
00:09:56.679 --> 00:10:01.799
yellow eyes, hurrying on round platforms with super speed and

164
00:10:02.159 --> 00:10:07.000
apparently bulletproof, and so out of fear of these things,

165
00:10:07.240 --> 00:10:11.039
the people began to form patrols in an attempt to

166
00:10:11.120 --> 00:10:14.080
protect themselves, and it was one of these patrols that

167
00:10:14.159 --> 00:10:19.399
heard the screams of fifteen year old Talia David la Dias,

168
00:10:19.440 --> 00:10:24.799
and this would become the first publicized, widely known attack

169
00:10:25.039 --> 00:10:29.720
of Los Pelacaras. So. Talia was in her backyard which

170
00:10:29.759 --> 00:10:32.639
faces the jungle, when she felt a rush of air

171
00:10:33.200 --> 00:10:35.799
and she saw the dead leaves in the ground rustling.

172
00:10:36.080 --> 00:10:38.240
She's like, what is this? So she turned around to

173
00:10:38.279 --> 00:10:40.600
see what was going on and she saw them, two

174
00:10:40.759 --> 00:10:45.320
beings floating on a round platform. She tried to run,

175
00:10:45.960 --> 00:10:48.440
but they were too fast. Next thing she knew, one

176
00:10:48.480 --> 00:10:51.000
of them was reaching for her face and then like

177
00:10:51.360 --> 00:10:53.559
grabbed her, you know, pulled her down. Then the other

178
00:10:53.639 --> 00:10:56.919
ground her legs, and then one of them grabbed like

179
00:10:56.960 --> 00:11:00.919
this tube thing and opened it and there was something

180
00:11:00.919 --> 00:11:04.639
inside and he smeared that onto her face, and it

181
00:11:04.679 --> 00:11:07.759
was some sort of like cold cream that made her

182
00:11:07.799 --> 00:11:12.080
face go numb right away, and she heard them speak

183
00:11:12.720 --> 00:11:17.039
in Spanish, one in a Peruvian accent in Spanish and

184
00:11:17.080 --> 00:11:22.120
the other with an American accent. What she was fighting

185
00:11:22.120 --> 00:11:25.080
the urge to faint, and she heard one of them say,

186
00:11:25.559 --> 00:11:31.279
gonquidado nosestanto la piel be careful, be careful, don't use

187
00:11:31.320 --> 00:11:36.600
too much go ruin the flesh on what I know.

188
00:11:37.480 --> 00:11:39.600
She didn't know this at the time, but apparently too

189
00:11:39.679 --> 00:11:42.080
much of that cream would make it harder to properly

190
00:11:42.120 --> 00:11:46.120
peel off the face. Oh yes, one of them took

191
00:11:46.159 --> 00:11:49.039
out a device that fired a red laser, and she

192
00:11:49.080 --> 00:11:52.960
began to smell the burning of flesh, which was her own.

193
00:11:54.799 --> 00:11:56.679
And this is when she realized that they didn't want

194
00:11:56.720 --> 00:11:59.120
to just kill her. They wanted to take her face.

195
00:11:59.399 --> 00:12:02.440
That's what they were talking about it. And as one

196
00:12:02.440 --> 00:12:04.960
of them was trying to use the laser to cut

197
00:12:05.080 --> 00:12:07.519
at her neck, she was able to push off his

198
00:12:07.720 --> 00:12:10.840
arm that had like a hold on her because he

199
00:12:10.879 --> 00:12:13.399
had like one arm on her shoulder. See, one of

200
00:12:13.399 --> 00:12:15.240
them was like had a hand an arm like on

201
00:12:15.279 --> 00:12:18.039
her shoulder to hold her down. And then he had

202
00:12:18.080 --> 00:12:21.360
like the laser and that's what he was using to like,

203
00:12:21.399 --> 00:12:24.639
you know, try and start peeling the peeling process, and

204
00:12:24.720 --> 00:12:28.240
so she was able to push his arm off and

205
00:12:28.279 --> 00:12:31.600
then that's when she was now able to move and scream,

206
00:12:31.720 --> 00:12:35.559
and she screamed and screamed, and that's when the one

207
00:12:35.639 --> 00:12:37.840
with the American accent it was like, let's get out

208
00:12:37.879 --> 00:12:42.240
of here, but in Spanish, and then the other oh no,

209
00:12:42.360 --> 00:12:44.840
the other way around. The Peruvian wie was like, let's

210
00:12:44.840 --> 00:12:47.399
get out of here, and then the American was like, no,

211
00:12:47.440 --> 00:12:50.120
we can't leave her. And then he like tried her face, yes,

212
00:12:50.320 --> 00:12:52.919
no without her face, and then he tried to grab her,

213
00:12:53.039 --> 00:12:56.799
like pull her. But then the patrol was getting close

214
00:12:56.840 --> 00:12:59.480
and closer and closer, and then they you know, got there.

215
00:12:59.519 --> 00:13:01.080
They were yelling like let her go, let her go,

216
00:13:01.159 --> 00:13:03.600
and they began to fire at the things. Oh my god,

217
00:13:03.639 --> 00:13:07.000
so they saw them, yes, and then the pair let

218
00:13:07.080 --> 00:13:10.240
her go and they disappeared into the sky, and the

219
00:13:10.279 --> 00:13:12.919
patrol surrounded her and took her to the hospital in

220
00:13:12.919 --> 00:13:17.080
Santa Maria, Nai where she gave her account to the police.

221
00:13:17.519 --> 00:13:20.840
And she did have two cuts on her neck, and

222
00:13:22.720 --> 00:13:27.399
she maintains her version of events, but authorities, when she

223
00:13:27.519 --> 00:13:31.240
told them this, they dismissed her story. Right away, and she,

224
00:13:31.759 --> 00:13:35.519
of course remains traumatized by this event, and I will

225
00:13:35.559 --> 00:13:38.279
share what they had They tried to explain it away

226
00:13:38.279 --> 00:13:41.840
to her at the end here. But stories like these

227
00:13:41.919 --> 00:13:44.480
began to spread all over those three regions of Peru

228
00:13:44.600 --> 00:13:46.799
that I already named and I have forgotten the name

229
00:13:46.840 --> 00:13:50.480
of but I said them earlier, right right, yes, yes,

230
00:13:51.879 --> 00:13:55.279
and yeah. All of them described these beings in the

231
00:13:55.279 --> 00:13:59.039
same way. Though sometimes they are in all black and

232
00:13:59.080 --> 00:14:03.679
it's like armoring that they have on. But sometimes he's green,

233
00:14:03.919 --> 00:14:07.000
so black or green, but it's always they're always in pairs,

234
00:14:07.720 --> 00:14:10.919
and they're seven feet tall. They're always floating on those

235
00:14:10.960 --> 00:14:15.120
like round platform things and flying at speeds that are

236
00:14:15.120 --> 00:14:19.320
too fast for like the human eye or whatever. These

237
00:14:19.360 --> 00:14:25.039
stories were dismissed or debunked by the Peruvian government, and

238
00:14:25.080 --> 00:14:28.360
this didn't sit right with a man named Timothy Alburrino.

239
00:14:28.559 --> 00:14:31.480
He has a YouTube channel and he's like a former

240
00:14:31.639 --> 00:14:34.080
I don't know, a special force at or remember his tit.

241
00:14:34.120 --> 00:14:37.200
He's a white man and he has a YouTube and

242
00:14:37.240 --> 00:14:43.279
he does things, okay, anyway, important things, Okay. So he

243
00:14:43.399 --> 00:14:45.480
was like, this doesn't sound right, and he went down

244
00:14:45.559 --> 00:14:47.679
to Peru to talk to the locals himself, and he

245
00:14:47.720 --> 00:14:51.120
actually grew up in the same region, so he knows

246
00:14:51.200 --> 00:14:53.720
the local indigenous language. And he was like, I will

247
00:14:53.720 --> 00:14:56.679
talk to them because this doesn't sound right. And so

248
00:14:56.799 --> 00:14:59.039
he learned that a group of students and their teacher

249
00:14:59.159 --> 00:15:02.279
witnessed a pair of humanoids too, and they all told

250
00:15:02.279 --> 00:15:05.720
the similar story that these things just shot up into

251
00:15:05.759 --> 00:15:08.519
the sky and disappeared after they were like caught trying

252
00:15:08.519 --> 00:15:10.600
to take someone. And then he talked to a different

253
00:15:10.639 --> 00:15:15.440
group of villagers from a different town but nearby. There

254
00:15:15.480 --> 00:15:18.240
had been another attack there, but this time they saw

255
00:15:18.320 --> 00:15:21.840
a craft, not just the pair, but like their ship.

256
00:15:22.480 --> 00:15:25.559
And there was other stories of people being hit with

257
00:15:25.679 --> 00:15:28.799
lasers as well, and then the pair of humanoids not

258
00:15:28.879 --> 00:15:32.639
being hurt by bullets seemed to be common as well.

259
00:15:33.480 --> 00:15:36.039
He found that the villagers were all too afraid to

260
00:15:36.080 --> 00:15:39.120
go out at night, and many towns had imposed curfews

261
00:15:39.320 --> 00:15:43.360
to try and prevent more attacks. And these towns had

262
00:15:43.399 --> 00:15:48.120
been asking for either police or military protection because of

263
00:15:48.120 --> 00:15:52.559
what was happening, which was not It was denied to them.

264
00:15:52.840 --> 00:15:57.240
And contrary to what others have said to debunk this story,

265
00:15:57.840 --> 00:16:01.919
Timothy was like, no, these are not ignorant like they

266
00:16:02.320 --> 00:16:04.480
have internet access, they just have to go to like

267
00:16:04.960 --> 00:16:07.840
the town center and they but they watch movies. They

268
00:16:07.960 --> 00:16:10.799
like they know about things. They're not like these ignorant

269
00:16:10.840 --> 00:16:13.720
little poor people like that don't know anything, which is

270
00:16:13.879 --> 00:16:18.360
how they're depicted often. And so he also said that

271
00:16:18.519 --> 00:16:22.600
stories of pelacas in this area were at least forty

272
00:16:22.639 --> 00:16:24.960
years old, that he heard them when he was a kid.

273
00:16:25.399 --> 00:16:27.960
Oh wow, so he can recall that they go at

274
00:16:28.080 --> 00:16:30.600
least back to the nineteen eighties. But elders when he

275
00:16:30.679 --> 00:16:33.000
was a kid, they were like, no, these weren't a

276
00:16:33.080 --> 00:16:36.919
thing when we were children. But he remembers, you know,

277
00:16:36.960 --> 00:16:40.960
adults telling kids like, oh, come home before dark, or

278
00:16:41.200 --> 00:16:46.039
pelad like watch out for the face pillars, or they're

279
00:16:46.039 --> 00:16:48.279
going to get you if you're out you know later

280
00:16:48.399 --> 00:16:51.840
or whatever. Yeah, as he talked to more and more villagers,

281
00:16:51.879 --> 00:16:54.120
and he learned that there had also been sightings of

282
00:16:54.120 --> 00:16:58.240
a ufo that accompanies these beings. It's an acorn shaped

283
00:16:58.279 --> 00:17:02.399
object that however silently over the village. It has stubby

284
00:17:02.480 --> 00:17:06.440
protusions on the side that fold open, and when they

285
00:17:06.440 --> 00:17:10.039
fold open, they deploy rapid flashing lights. And they had

286
00:17:10.079 --> 00:17:14.000
been seen floating thirty feet above the village, always at nighttime.

287
00:17:14.480 --> 00:17:18.160
One fisherman who saw this at three a m. Stated

288
00:17:18.400 --> 00:17:20.599
that it was so bright he thought the sun suddenly

289
00:17:20.640 --> 00:17:24.400
came out, but it was an acorn shaped object. He

290
00:17:24.559 --> 00:17:27.480
described it as transparent, like it had a mesh around it,

291
00:17:27.559 --> 00:17:30.960
and he saw two beings inside the craft. It say,

292
00:17:31.000 --> 00:17:34.599
there for a second before it sped away. What the fuck?

293
00:17:35.400 --> 00:17:37.839
Aside from these reports of the UFO, he also talked

294
00:17:37.880 --> 00:17:40.400
to at least twelve people that had been attacked by

295
00:17:40.400 --> 00:17:43.440
the laser by the laser weapons of these alien beans.

296
00:17:43.680 --> 00:17:48.440
You know what, that reminds me of that thing in

297
00:17:48.480 --> 00:17:52.359
Brazil that we talked about, Operation something. It started with

298
00:17:52.359 --> 00:17:59.359
the key yeah brato or some now was it bla brato?

299
00:17:59.559 --> 00:18:03.200
I think I yeah, yeah, pretty sure. I mean we

300
00:18:03.200 --> 00:18:05.400
can look at it, but it's one of those, one

301
00:18:05.400 --> 00:18:08.720
of those for sure. Yeah, anyway, that's what that maybe of. Yeah.

302
00:18:09.319 --> 00:18:11.680
He also talked to another young man in a different

303
00:18:11.759 --> 00:18:15.759
jungle city, two hours from where Talia was attacked. The

304
00:18:15.799 --> 00:18:18.400
teenager almost died from the cut on his neck, and

305
00:18:18.480 --> 00:18:22.599
he described almost the same incident as Tahalia without ever

306
00:18:22.680 --> 00:18:27.559
talking to her. Similarly, a group patrolling hurt his screams

307
00:18:27.559 --> 00:18:33.920
and rescued him. He eventually recovered, but, like Dahlia, remained traumatized. Wow,

308
00:18:33.920 --> 00:18:36.599
And his interview was Coast to coast. Timothy mentioned he

309
00:18:36.640 --> 00:18:39.119
had not heard of any other attacks since he left Peru,

310
00:18:39.680 --> 00:18:43.000
but I still in touched the villagers. Okay, let's get

311
00:18:43.039 --> 00:18:47.680
into theories. Okay, so theories. Like I said earlier, the

312
00:18:47.720 --> 00:18:50.920
Peruvian authorities told Talia and the villagers that it was

313
00:18:50.960 --> 00:18:54.960
the cartel illegally mining with the jet packs, and that's

314
00:18:55.160 --> 00:19:02.880
what they said, which I I mean, like that sounds

315
00:19:02.920 --> 00:19:09.160
like a lie. Are get packs functionable like that? Like, yeah,

316
00:19:09.279 --> 00:19:13.079
there's fast, there's commercial jet packs now, but they're super

317
00:19:13.119 --> 00:19:16.039
loud and they don't float that long or that far

318
00:19:16.519 --> 00:19:22.000
or that they talk about them being quiet, quiet, stealthy. Yeah, fast,

319
00:19:22.200 --> 00:19:26.240
and like go up so high that they disappear. So no,

320
00:19:26.440 --> 00:19:29.559
that's like that, there's no way that's it. And another

321
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:34.400
proposed theory is that it was the military, the US military,

322
00:19:34.960 --> 00:19:37.960
And now this one I feel makes a little more sense.

323
00:19:39.640 --> 00:19:42.960
So there was a joint operation between the US Marines,

324
00:19:43.119 --> 00:19:46.079
Air Force and the Japanese military, and the Space Force

325
00:19:46.200 --> 00:19:48.519
was there, like I don't know in what capacity. Obviously

326
00:19:48.559 --> 00:19:51.240
we're not privy to this information. Yeah, but it was

327
00:19:51.279 --> 00:19:55.559
a sixteen day joint operation called Resolute Sentinel in twenty

328
00:19:55.559 --> 00:19:59.119
twenty three, and they were operating out of Ikito's naval base,

329
00:19:59.279 --> 00:20:03.799
which happened to be up river from Dalia's village. We

330
00:20:03.839 --> 00:20:06.359
shouldn't even have a nail base there, No, right, like

331
00:20:06.440 --> 00:20:11.279
white is it there? I think that's a perovn naval base. Okay, okay, yeah,

332
00:20:11.559 --> 00:20:14.440
why the fun they're just borrowing the nail base ye, yeah,

333
00:20:14.480 --> 00:20:18.599
for the operation. And so sources that I read for

334
00:20:18.640 --> 00:20:21.920
this said that the night vision goggles could explain glowing

335
00:20:22.000 --> 00:20:27.000
yellow eyes, and I guess I see it, But night

336
00:20:27.039 --> 00:20:32.920
vision goggles they don't glow like that, like because then

337
00:20:33.240 --> 00:20:34.960
it would make you stand out in the dark, like

338
00:20:35.079 --> 00:20:38.759
it would be true true. Yeah, I know, we had

339
00:20:38.839 --> 00:20:41.400
like all ass equipment in like my unit, but like

340
00:20:41.480 --> 00:20:45.200
so maybe there's new ones, but it why would I glow? Yeah,

341
00:20:45.279 --> 00:20:46.640
that's what I was LETNA say. I don't think that

342
00:20:46.680 --> 00:20:49.640
would be like conducive to a night mission, Like you

343
00:20:49.640 --> 00:20:53.440
don't want to not be noticeable, like you're trying to

344
00:20:53.519 --> 00:20:56.079
remain dark while seeing in the dark, and they're just

345
00:20:56.119 --> 00:20:58.119
like they go over your eyes. But they're all black,

346
00:20:58.160 --> 00:21:01.519
they don't glow. Yeah, so I I don't know about that,

347
00:21:01.680 --> 00:21:04.000
but again, maybe there's new ones. I don't know, it's

348
00:21:04.000 --> 00:21:07.640
been a while since I have used them, right, And

349
00:21:07.720 --> 00:21:12.400
there's also these experimental silent lifting systems, but they're huge

350
00:21:12.720 --> 00:21:16.960
and they look like like uh, these round ass circles

351
00:21:17.319 --> 00:21:20.680
with fans, and they're like quieter but they're like so

352
00:21:20.880 --> 00:21:24.880
rare and huge, but so nothing like well was described

353
00:21:24.880 --> 00:21:27.240
by no military. No, but this is just like what

354
00:21:27.279 --> 00:21:31.119
the sources try to like explain away anyway. Yes, And

355
00:21:31.200 --> 00:21:35.640
there's also like these fancy video game looking suits called

356
00:21:35.839 --> 00:21:39.519
like the tallow Suit, which exists to try and make

357
00:21:39.640 --> 00:21:43.079
like soldiers stronger, but they're not like the average military

358
00:21:43.160 --> 00:21:46.240
unit doesn't have access to these kinds of things. And

359
00:21:46.920 --> 00:21:48.640
I mean, I don't know what kind of unit was

360
00:21:48.960 --> 00:21:53.480
in this training exercise, but I just don't feel that

361
00:21:53.559 --> 00:21:57.720
they would all have these suits, like you know. Yeah,

362
00:21:58.200 --> 00:22:02.039
so that's one explanation, which like the American accent in

363
00:22:02.119 --> 00:22:06.720
Spanish that taliaher kind of it makes sense with that, yes,

364
00:22:06.759 --> 00:22:09.279
in this context would make sense. And if paired with

365
00:22:09.359 --> 00:22:12.440
the Peruvian soldier, like yeah, it could have been. Yeah.

366
00:22:12.559 --> 00:22:15.240
So I'm like Okay, well that that part fits, but

367
00:22:15.440 --> 00:22:19.319
some of this just doesn't to me either. But the

368
00:22:19.319 --> 00:22:22.960
Peruvian government stuck with their story of the cartel, and

369
00:22:23.039 --> 00:22:25.440
there's other people who believe will know, like there was

370
00:22:25.480 --> 00:22:29.160
that joint operation happening too, But there's also like US

371
00:22:29.200 --> 00:22:31.480
special forces were doing something in the area that no

372
00:22:31.519 --> 00:22:35.559
one knows and that sounds a little more believable than

373
00:22:36.119 --> 00:22:40.599
this having been that exercise, because they've done it before.

374
00:22:42.240 --> 00:22:43.920
It's like that that audio. That's like and if you

375
00:22:43.920 --> 00:22:46.759
think your government wouldn't do that, oh yes they would, Yeah,

376
00:22:46.799 --> 00:22:49.880
they would. Because in the nineteen fifties, the CIA faked

377
00:22:50.000 --> 00:22:53.319
vampire attacks in the Philippines against a communist group called

378
00:22:53.319 --> 00:23:00.480
the Hooks. What I yeah, I wow. Yeah. There's a

379
00:23:00.599 --> 00:23:03.559
belief in the Oswog in the Philippines, which we've talked

380
00:23:03.599 --> 00:23:05.680
about I think our Patreon before. But they're like a

381
00:23:05.759 --> 00:23:09.839
vampire like entity. There's like the Oswang is a type

382
00:23:09.880 --> 00:23:12.160
of monster, and then there's a bunch of like monsters

383
00:23:12.200 --> 00:23:15.039
off all under Oswog and one of them are vampires.

384
00:23:16.599 --> 00:23:19.920
And so the CIA had some operatives hide and wait

385
00:23:19.960 --> 00:23:22.200
for the Hooks to pass by and then take the

386
00:23:22.279 --> 00:23:25.559
last one of this group and then they punctured the

387
00:23:25.599 --> 00:23:29.359
man's neck, drained his blood, and put him back so

388
00:23:29.400 --> 00:23:31.759
that the rest of the hooks could find him. And

389
00:23:31.799 --> 00:23:34.240
it worked. They thought there was a vampire, and they

390
00:23:34.400 --> 00:23:38.559
ceased operations. And they did the same thing in Vietnam.

391
00:23:38.759 --> 00:23:42.759
They were in Vietnam and they had this like sig

392
00:23:42.839 --> 00:23:45.079
op I forget the name of the operation, but they

393
00:23:45.079 --> 00:23:48.240
would play like these screaming sounds of like this like

394
00:23:48.720 --> 00:23:52.559
legend in Vietnam. I didn't know that. Yeah, this surprised me,

395
00:23:53.000 --> 00:23:56.119
but I'm just like wow. So it's not for Fetch

396
00:23:56.240 --> 00:24:00.480
to think that they would be here pretend to be vampire. Again,

397
00:24:01.839 --> 00:24:05.799
not to mention that there's an interest for tech companies

398
00:24:06.279 --> 00:24:12.279
to mine these lands, yeah, for their natural resources. And

399
00:24:13.359 --> 00:24:17.720
there has already been attempted cuse in you know, Central

400
00:24:17.759 --> 00:24:20.279
and South America time and time again, you know, for

401
00:24:20.559 --> 00:24:24.359
US interests, which would align with the tech company's interests,

402
00:24:24.400 --> 00:24:28.640
because at the end, it's like capitalism and colonialism, right, Yeah,

403
00:24:28.680 --> 00:24:31.119
and the Amazon has always been a point of interest

404
00:24:31.240 --> 00:24:36.240
for capitalists, organizations and whatnot for the rich resources that

405
00:24:36.279 --> 00:24:39.960
are there. Yeah, and these lands, the Amazon happens to

406
00:24:40.000 --> 00:24:43.839
contain some of the most fierce land defenders. This is

407
00:24:43.960 --> 00:24:47.640
it's their home, Like, of course they're going to defend it. So, hey,

408
00:24:47.680 --> 00:24:50.319
wouldn't it be far fetched to me to think that

409
00:24:50.359 --> 00:24:55.359
there's some medaline taking place in the and after hearing

410
00:24:55.400 --> 00:24:59.359
what they did pretend to be vampires, like right, it

411
00:24:59.400 --> 00:25:03.640
really wouldn't be that chunking. And then on top of that,

412
00:25:03.640 --> 00:25:10.359
there's already illegal deforestation happening by organized crime. So I

413
00:25:10.440 --> 00:25:14.759
don't know. Timothy told Coast to Coast in his interview

414
00:25:15.119 --> 00:25:17.559
that he suspects, like He's like, yeah, it could be

415
00:25:18.519 --> 00:25:21.079
like something that is something that is happening. The villagers

416
00:25:21.160 --> 00:25:24.680
saw something they didn't see. They're not making this up.

417
00:25:24.720 --> 00:25:28.039
This is mass hysteria and it's not the cartel like

418
00:25:28.400 --> 00:25:33.640
the government told them. He believes it's humans with advanced technology,

419
00:25:33.720 --> 00:25:38.240
possibly deep state type operatives. Well, Timothy says, so I

420
00:25:38.359 --> 00:25:44.480
believe him. Honestly, I believe Timothy too. But now I

421
00:25:44.559 --> 00:25:49.000
present you with the supernatural explanation the Bistaco. Do other

422
00:25:49.039 --> 00:25:51.160
people also think it's this or it's just you? It's

423
00:25:51.200 --> 00:25:54.319
because it's they're so similar, right, But I'm wondering if

424
00:25:54.359 --> 00:25:56.160
you're the only one who has made this connection, or

425
00:25:56.200 --> 00:25:59.039
we also saw it liking your research. No, no, no,

426
00:25:59.079 --> 00:26:03.720
A couple of videos mentioned the pistacle. Yeah, but the pistacle,

427
00:26:04.119 --> 00:26:08.559
so the Pelacaras stories all mentioned that these creatures want

428
00:26:08.759 --> 00:26:12.599
like skin, the skin, the skin, But there's other stories.

429
00:26:12.599 --> 00:26:16.960
I also mentioned them wanting fat and possibly even organs

430
00:26:17.359 --> 00:26:21.240
like thecle which ties them to the pistacle, because the

431
00:26:21.240 --> 00:26:24.240
pitchtacle is a vampire, but instead of draining blood, it

432
00:26:24.279 --> 00:26:27.839
drains fat, and so that's why there's a similarity there.

433
00:26:27.960 --> 00:26:33.359
I see maybe either the same thing, but like maybe modernized. Yes, yeah,

434
00:26:33.400 --> 00:26:36.559
this legend of the Pichtacle dates back to when Peru

435
00:26:36.720 --> 00:26:40.440
was first colonized, and I just copying pasted what we

436
00:26:40.480 --> 00:26:44.079
shared before about the pichtacle. But because I didn't remember either,

437
00:26:44.119 --> 00:26:46.240
I was like, well, I want to remember. So the

438
00:26:46.240 --> 00:26:49.319
Spanish retreat their wounds with the fat of their enemies,

439
00:26:49.319 --> 00:26:51.640
which at the time was the indigenous people of the

440
00:26:51.759 --> 00:26:54.839
lands they were colonizing, and so it is said that

441
00:26:54.920 --> 00:26:58.039
they would kill indigenous people, take their corpses, and then

442
00:26:58.119 --> 00:27:01.839
boil them to obtain the fat that they needed to

443
00:27:01.880 --> 00:27:05.039
treat their wounds, but also to grease their weapons because

444
00:27:05.079 --> 00:27:08.400
their weapons would get super rusty. In the Amazon forests

445
00:27:08.640 --> 00:27:12.519
because of the humidity, and the earliest known reference to

446
00:27:12.680 --> 00:27:16.359
the Pieshtaquo legend is from fifteen seventy four, according to

447
00:27:16.359 --> 00:27:19.440
a priest named Cristo balle Molinam, indigenous people of the

448
00:27:19.480 --> 00:27:23.000
area avoided the Spanish and refused to let them enter

449
00:27:23.039 --> 00:27:26.359
their homes like vampires because they believed that they would

450
00:27:26.440 --> 00:27:29.079
be killed for their fat. And this legend only grew

451
00:27:29.200 --> 00:27:32.640
when the Bethlamite Friars opened a hospital in the year's

452
00:27:32.640 --> 00:27:35.680
empteen hundred, and then it seemed that indigenous people only

453
00:27:35.720 --> 00:27:38.160
went to this hospital to die like they never survived,

454
00:27:38.160 --> 00:27:41.240
they never came out of there, so it just fueled

455
00:27:41.279 --> 00:27:46.680
the rumors of all the Spanish being vampires. Indigenous communities

456
00:27:46.720 --> 00:27:49.720
also had stories of something called the Gauchoos or the

457
00:27:50.000 --> 00:27:55.559
runam Mikuk, meaning person who consumes, and in sixteen twenty one,

458
00:27:55.759 --> 00:28:00.799
Pablo Jose Ariaga wrote that the Gauchoos was a blood

459
00:28:00.839 --> 00:28:05.559
seeking creature who preyed on children. The gauchoos were steaking

460
00:28:05.599 --> 00:28:08.160
to people's home and put them to sleep using a

461
00:28:08.200 --> 00:28:11.200
powder made out of human bones, and then they would

462
00:28:11.200 --> 00:28:14.279
scratch their victim with their fringer nail and then drink

463
00:28:14.519 --> 00:28:18.279
blood from that scratch, and victims would dying a few

464
00:28:18.359 --> 00:28:22.680
days later from their wounds, and over the decade, Over

465
00:28:22.720 --> 00:28:26.720
the decades, the gauchoos legend merged with the pistaco legend,

466
00:28:27.200 --> 00:28:31.640
which then created the story of a fat, draining vampire.

467
00:28:32.160 --> 00:28:34.640
I mean, it makes sense for them to fear the

468
00:28:34.640 --> 00:28:39.279
Spanish who literally cause the end of the world as

469
00:28:39.319 --> 00:28:42.640
they knew it, right, right, And this isn't new like

470
00:28:42.839 --> 00:28:49.000
all over their stories like this, I mean even like Guaalaada.

471
00:28:49.160 --> 00:28:51.599
Take for example, like people you know the legend of

472
00:28:51.640 --> 00:28:55.519
the vampire tree. People were like, oh, the Spanish man

473
00:28:55.599 --> 00:28:59.519
is the vampire, like yeah, immediately because of how white

474
00:28:59.519 --> 00:29:04.359
they are, I don't know. And coincidentally, Talia, the girl

475
00:29:04.400 --> 00:29:08.279
who survived the attack of the face Peelers, described one

476
00:29:08.279 --> 00:29:13.759
of them as Spanish with an American accent, which called gringo,

477
00:29:13.920 --> 00:29:16.680
which I equate to white people gingo. Right, And so

478
00:29:16.920 --> 00:29:19.759
then this further makes sense that it would be a

479
00:29:19.839 --> 00:29:22.519
pistaco who is said to be who are said to

480
00:29:22.519 --> 00:29:26.759
be white, right right right. That is the legend of

481
00:29:26.880 --> 00:29:32.559
the Placaras, which in turn might also just be the

482
00:29:32.640 --> 00:29:35.279
legend of the pishtacle like a new take, like a

483
00:29:35.359 --> 00:29:40.319
model take. I could see it. I could see it thoughts.

484
00:29:41.680 --> 00:29:46.640
I just said my thoughts. Oh, those are my thoughts,

485
00:29:46.720 --> 00:29:50.880
like I can see the connection with those two legends

486
00:29:50.920 --> 00:29:55.680
and how it could be like it could derive from them. Sorry,

487
00:29:55.880 --> 00:29:58.720
I meant like, is there any one of these presentage

488
00:29:58.799 --> 00:30:02.799
theories that you are more inclined to believe out of

489
00:30:02.839 --> 00:30:06.920
all of them? Including that it's the beach tackle assuming

490
00:30:07.200 --> 00:30:13.720
to be realcle that or the deep stay operatives with

491
00:30:13.839 --> 00:30:22.640
that advanced technology. Honestly same, either one is equally scary. Yeah, yeah, okay,

492
00:30:22.759 --> 00:30:26.920
well we are in agreement then, okay, okay, let us

493
00:30:26.960 --> 00:30:31.079
know your thoughts in the comments, either on YouTube, Spotify,

494
00:30:31.319 --> 00:30:35.079
or whenever we make a post. You know, I will

495
00:30:35.160 --> 00:30:41.480
be posting pictures on Instagram of what people claim are pelacaras.

496
00:30:43.279 --> 00:30:45.079
I just didn't save any of them to show them

497
00:30:45.119 --> 00:30:48.160
to you, Okay, but you'll see them when everyone else

498
00:30:48.160 --> 00:30:50.400
sees them. I guess I'll just have to wait. Yes,

499
00:30:52.079 --> 00:30:54.440
and with that we will take a little outbreak here

500
00:30:54.559 --> 00:31:03.039
and come back with spooky recommendations. And we're back. Do

501
00:31:03.160 --> 00:31:08.079
you have any recommendations? I do, Okay. I just finished

502
00:31:08.079 --> 00:31:11.359
listening to a book called JUNI. Have you heard in

503
00:31:11.359 --> 00:31:15.759
this book you mentioned it? No, you had just started it.

504
00:31:15.799 --> 00:31:18.599
You were thirty four percent of the way through. Oh, okay, okay,

505
00:31:18.799 --> 00:31:20.839
So yeah, I read JUNI or I listened to Juni

506
00:31:20.960 --> 00:31:25.640
by Aaron Crosby Extein, and it was really good. Overall.

507
00:31:25.759 --> 00:31:29.160
I will say the horror aspect is not as strong,

508
00:31:29.440 --> 00:31:33.279
but the historical fiction aspect of it is super strong,

509
00:31:33.319 --> 00:31:38.119
which I really liked, and I wish it was scarier.

510
00:31:38.279 --> 00:31:40.480
But at the same time everything else kind of like

511
00:31:40.640 --> 00:31:44.920
mixed up for that. Okay, I must have read. Would

512
00:31:44.920 --> 00:31:48.160
you say similar to the Reformatory in that sense? I

513
00:31:48.160 --> 00:31:51.160
think there are Formatory you had more scarier aspects, like

514
00:31:51.200 --> 00:31:54.119
they had more moments with the ghosts and where they

515
00:31:54.119 --> 00:31:56.799
were being haunted by the ghosts and people were scared

516
00:31:56.839 --> 00:31:59.559
my god, and some of those descriptions where like he

517
00:31:59.680 --> 00:32:03.160
first heard, Yeah, the ghosts were so scary, they were scary,

518
00:32:03.200 --> 00:32:05.519
and I don't I was never scared listen to do this,

519
00:32:06.519 --> 00:32:09.640
but yeah. It's about Junie, who is an enslave sixteen

520
00:32:09.720 --> 00:32:14.359
year old. She was born enslaved at the Bellerine Plantation

521
00:32:14.519 --> 00:32:20.000
in Alabama. Her family has been there for generations and

522
00:32:20.079 --> 00:32:23.400
it's been a year since her sister Minnie has died

523
00:32:24.000 --> 00:32:28.799
and Juni is the what are they called? She tends

524
00:32:28.839 --> 00:32:33.359
to the master's daughter, who she considers her friend because

525
00:32:33.400 --> 00:32:36.160
that they grew up playing around, like playing together. And

526
00:32:36.200 --> 00:32:38.759
then the only reason she's in the house is because

527
00:32:39.079 --> 00:32:42.079
the daughter of Violet asked her to be like her

528
00:32:42.160 --> 00:32:46.440
maid or whatever, like her personal yeah and slave person

529
00:32:46.640 --> 00:32:55.119
discussing yeah, and neither understands the dynamic, okay until later on,

530
00:32:55.839 --> 00:33:00.559
but when Violet is said to Mary, she then fears

531
00:33:00.559 --> 00:33:03.680
that she's gonna have to leave with Minnie because that's

532
00:33:03.759 --> 00:33:05.319
a house I don't know if you were to call

533
00:33:05.359 --> 00:33:09.680
her a house girl or because when an enslaved person

534
00:33:09.839 --> 00:33:12.359
like attended to one person, they would leave if that

535
00:33:12.400 --> 00:33:14.759
person left, right, like a girl go with them, they

536
00:33:14.799 --> 00:33:16.440
would go with them. Yeah, And she doesn't want to

537
00:33:16.519 --> 00:33:19.319
leave her to the new household, right, She doesn't want

538
00:33:19.319 --> 00:33:22.720
to leave her family. So then she tries to think

539
00:33:22.759 --> 00:33:25.920
of a plan of how she can get out of this,

540
00:33:26.319 --> 00:33:30.079
and she thinks that Violet is marrying demanding her offer

541
00:33:30.160 --> 00:33:32.559
money because the family is not doing too good, and

542
00:33:32.599 --> 00:33:35.839
so then that's when she steals her this bracelet that

543
00:33:35.960 --> 00:33:38.759
her sister was buried with it was like a necklace

544
00:33:38.839 --> 00:33:41.279
or bracelet. I think it's a necklace and she steals

545
00:33:41.319 --> 00:33:44.240
it and that's what sets off, like itod awakens or

546
00:33:44.319 --> 00:33:48.359
strengthens Mini spirit. And then Minnie sent her off on

547
00:33:48.400 --> 00:33:50.839
this like series of things she has to do so

548
00:33:50.880 --> 00:33:55.119
that Mini can pass on, okay. And during that Juni

549
00:33:55.319 --> 00:33:58.119
meets someone that she ends up falling in love with,

550
00:33:58.200 --> 00:34:00.640
and it's almost like also a coming of a story.

551
00:34:02.039 --> 00:34:04.480
And at first Juni is kind of annoying because she's

552
00:34:04.519 --> 00:34:07.839
like stubborn and hard headed, but at the same time,

553
00:34:08.079 --> 00:34:10.960
like you're in dear to her, and it also speaks

554
00:34:10.960 --> 00:34:13.960
to her to tenacity, and I don't know, it was

555
00:34:14.000 --> 00:34:16.519
really good, Okay. I think that if you're like looking

556
00:34:16.519 --> 00:34:19.199
for something that the horror aspects are not as strong,

557
00:34:19.320 --> 00:34:28.239
but you're wanting a little paranormal, this would be perfect. Yeah, okay,

558
00:34:28.920 --> 00:34:33.760
I do have a spooky recommendation. I watched a movie

559
00:34:33.880 --> 00:34:38.280
called Beelzebus. It is a Mexican horror film, but it

560
00:34:38.360 --> 00:34:41.800
is different in the sense that it is in English

561
00:34:41.840 --> 00:34:44.960
and Spanish. It's set in a border town in Mexico.

562
00:34:45.199 --> 00:34:47.480
Most of it is in Spanish except when they encounter

563
00:34:47.679 --> 00:34:51.480
like the American people helping investigate what's taking place. But

564
00:34:51.639 --> 00:34:56.320
within like the first five minutes, it's brutal, like this

565
00:34:56.719 --> 00:34:58.519
least is the one you said was like that that

566
00:34:58.599 --> 00:35:01.119
you send us a picture and you're like, yeah, it's

567
00:35:01.280 --> 00:35:08.960
not shy away from children being killed in a mass. So, like,

568
00:35:09.039 --> 00:35:12.000
the whole premise is that there's this like, these horrible

569
00:35:12.039 --> 00:35:15.519
things happening at great speeds that normally don't happen like

570
00:35:15.880 --> 00:35:20.880
in Mexico. I mean sure in the US so, but

571
00:35:21.000 --> 00:35:23.679
even then that's a stretch. So the first like in

572
00:35:23.679 --> 00:35:25.800
the first one minutes, I don't want to spoil things,

573
00:35:25.800 --> 00:35:30.480
so basically, children die in numerous different ways before they

574
00:35:30.519 --> 00:35:33.320
figure out what's causing it and what's causing it. But

575
00:35:33.719 --> 00:35:37.000
it's like a religious horror movie, but it's a refreshing

576
00:35:37.039 --> 00:35:39.960
take on an exorcism type movie. It's like, oh, the

577
00:35:40.039 --> 00:35:43.159
Exorcist in Mexico, but different. It was a lot of fun.

578
00:35:43.360 --> 00:35:47.119
Did you ever watch Tenthified the show? Okay, well you

579
00:35:47.159 --> 00:35:50.000
don't know who he is in who Quaking Kosio is

580
00:35:50.119 --> 00:35:55.039
the police investigating these horrible things happening to children, and

581
00:35:55.119 --> 00:35:58.320
he carries the movie so well, he's so good in this.

582
00:35:58.800 --> 00:36:02.880
I don't know if you've seen him in anything, I

583
00:36:02.960 --> 00:36:09.679
recognize him, yes, yeah, okay, phenomenal his performance also the

584
00:36:09.800 --> 00:36:13.840
old guy from Saw oh yeah, although I wouldn't call

585
00:36:14.159 --> 00:36:19.239
his performance phenomenal. But the movie is fantastic either way. Interesting. Yeah,

586
00:36:19.760 --> 00:36:21.800
I highly recommend it, but it's not for the faint

587
00:36:21.840 --> 00:36:25.840
of heart. And also you have to like Campy. I

588
00:36:25.880 --> 00:36:28.079
love Campy, which I know, I know you would like

589
00:36:28.119 --> 00:36:32.039
this movie once you get past the horrible deaths. Oh

590
00:36:32.119 --> 00:36:36.559
of the children. They were just they did not hold back.

591
00:36:36.679 --> 00:36:39.440
They were not afraid to go there like to Grassy.

592
00:36:39.599 --> 00:36:42.840
They went there, and yeah, it was it was fun.

593
00:36:42.920 --> 00:36:45.719
It was fun. I do recommend it. I will make

594
00:36:45.719 --> 00:36:48.599
a longer video about it at some point. Actually I

595
00:36:48.679 --> 00:36:52.960
was about to do that after this so and my class. Yes,

596
00:36:53.000 --> 00:36:55.440
of course, but yeah, it was a lot of fun.

597
00:36:55.480 --> 00:36:57.760
So yeah, I recommend it. I also rented another movie

598
00:36:57.800 --> 00:37:00.320
called Macaio, but I have yet to watch that from

599
00:37:00.400 --> 00:37:03.440
like the nineteen seventies. Also Mexican horror, but I've been

600
00:37:03.480 --> 00:37:05.599
making it a thing to try and watch like a

601
00:37:05.639 --> 00:37:08.639
couple movies a week, but like Venture Out into more

602
00:37:08.880 --> 00:37:12.280
Mexican horror, So okay, I like that. Yeah, and then

603
00:37:12.320 --> 00:37:14.800
I will be making videos about these, so but yeah,

604
00:37:14.800 --> 00:37:18.159
that's my recommendation. Blsa boo bields a booth, bils a both.

605
00:37:18.239 --> 00:37:19.639
I don't know how I say. I thought it was

606
00:37:19.679 --> 00:37:23.559
Bill's a bob bel bel Oh, so it doesn't end

607
00:37:23.599 --> 00:37:26.440
with the b it's a thh Where did it get

608
00:37:26.480 --> 00:37:30.079
bails a bob? I don't know. But yeah, Other than that,

609
00:37:31.199 --> 00:37:35.880
we hope to catch everyone at our event. The Kukui

610
00:37:36.000 --> 00:37:39.320
is going to get you on November first in Yakima.

611
00:37:39.719 --> 00:37:42.280
The link for that is in the show notes. Yeah,

612
00:37:42.360 --> 00:37:44.519
come through, Come through. We're going to be telling some

613
00:37:44.599 --> 00:37:46.159
scary stories and there's going to be a bunch of

614
00:37:46.159 --> 00:37:49.599
other things going on. And also Jonathan from Latinos Againstpooky

615
00:37:49.599 --> 00:37:52.280
Shit is going to be there. Come to our event. Also,

616
00:37:53.360 --> 00:37:55.800
we might be seeing some of you in our other

617
00:37:55.880 --> 00:37:58.880
event on October thirtieth, the Spooky Run. We're not going

618
00:37:58.960 --> 00:38:00.800
to be running because we're going to be for the

619
00:38:01.639 --> 00:38:07.840
scary storytelling portion of that event. But yeah, and so yeah,

620
00:38:08.039 --> 00:38:10.440
other than that, say Spookie, we'll catch every one next time.
